Christmas babies

Mamabear12 · 14/04/2019 17:23

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

I’ve been feeling so tired too. I’ve been able to nap a bit, but back to work today and it’s a struggle! My nausea has eased over the past few days, but I’ve found the only way to stop it is pretty much constant snacking. No cravings yet, but I’ve really gone off chocolate which is not like me at all!

NapsAndTea · 07/05/2019 14:20

@MrsS7 I swear I could live off of beige food at the moment!

MrsS7 · 07/05/2019 14:23

@NapsAndTea definitely! Beforehand I lived off coffee and olives, now can't bear either and chicken nuggets are the dream! Haha

Babykent2019 · 07/05/2019 16:21

Had a few food aversions (mushrooms yuk!!!) but no real cravings, basically eating anything in site. Usually have breakfast at work, I've now gone to adding a pre breakfast snack in the car before I get there and then always pudding after dinner now ha ha. I'm gonna be the size of a horse at this rate but at least I have no morning sickness. 🙈

Mamabear12 · 07/05/2019 17:51

Making sure I eat frequently seems to help me as well (to not feel sick). I had spaghetti bolognese for dinner - yum! But after a heavy meal, tired again lol. Kids are in the bath and I look forward to bed time routine (for us all! Lol).

Does it take anyone else an age to eat a meal? I'm always super hungry (and snacking lots helps ease the nausea) but a full evening meal can take me half hour to eat as I'm so bloated! I'd normally gobble it down in seconds!

Sianii · 07/05/2019 18:43

@VeryNewToAllThis i’m exactly the same get hungry every 2-3 hours so i snack and then it comes to evening meal and I suddenly don’t want to eat a lot of it. No idea why 😂

Ladies after some help ... not sure if I have a cold coming on or it's my hayfever playing up (we live surrounded by rapeseed fields) anyways today my throat is really itchy and my nose is getting blocked feels like round my sinuses.

I have been told by GP and pharmacist nothing they can give me for hayfever and i know i cant take cold medication but does anyone know of any remedies that can help me at all? Thanks

Mamabear12 · 08/05/2019 08:06

Aims4488 Trying warm ginger tea w honey to soothe throat. Sorry not much more help. That’s what I have when sick. Never take cold meds. And this seems to do the trick.

Thanks @Mamabear12 I will give that a go unfortunately am currently sat in A&E after having quite painful cramping all evening and morning today been told to come over and get checked out 🤞🏻 its nothing to worry about but literally trying to fight back tears right now.

peasando · 08/05/2019 09:33

Oh @Aims4488 🤞🏻 it's nothing. I've been having a lot of cramping as well and I went for a private scan yesterday evening for reassurance. Everything was fine and the sonographer said the cramping was just my uterus expanding. I really hope it's the same for you, keep us updated.

Mamabear12 · 08/05/2019 09:37

Aims4488 oh no :( I am sorry to hear that. Hopefully its nothing and you feel better soon. Could you get a scan for reassurance?

Grerrr I’m so lazy
I’ve been awake since 5
I’ve got an essay to write, some sewing to finish, promised I’d go to the gym, cancelled a meeting i had for my voluntary job and yet still here I am in bed
I’m just bone idle and using pregnancy as an excuse

Losd · 08/05/2019 10:10

@Aims4488 I really hope everything is ok! I lost my breast tenderness again last night and assumed it would come back this morning but nope...also didn’t wake up starving and feeling sick so I’m now feeling really distressed and anxious, no point in calling midwife as I know I’ll be told if there’s no bleeding it’s ok so just holding off til scan on Friday but I’m so worried 😭
I’ve been told so many times that cramping is ok though so keeping everything crossed for you! Xx

Mamabear12 · 08/05/2019 11:04

Comps83 I feel the same way! I am trying to do some little things here and there to feel like I am doing something.

Its no wonder I put 23 kilos my first two pregnancies....as I always seem to be hungry!! I get serious hunger pangs....like I am STARVING! And I just ate an hour ago!!! And before that an hour! So frustrating. Maybe I need to eat bigger meals. I feel starving like I have not eaten anything. Okay, to be fair my first bite of the day was just a piece of toast with honey and butter along with a cup of coffee with milk and some bread sticks. An hour after (had to take dog out and drop kids to school) I had a pita bread with cream cheese and tomatoes. Now I am starving so thinking to just have lunch early!

peasando · 08/05/2019 11:11

@Mamabear12 Pita bread with cream cheese and tomatoes! I was struggling to work out what I fancied to eat and that's EXACTLY it! 😃

Mamabear12 · 08/05/2019 12:10

peasando 😀 I squeeze lemon over the cut tomatoes and put garlic salt and pepper on top. Before putting on top of the toasted pita w cream cheese. Its ssooo good!

I just had pasta w bolognese and a small chocolate cake. Hopefully that keeps me full for 2-3 hours!!

My dog is snuggled sleeping next to me. She is stinky today from getting wet in the rain. Don’t have the heart to push her away. Tempted to spray her w perfume lol.

peasando · 08/05/2019 12:15

Lol @Mamabear12 good tips, I've just been out and bought Philadelphia!!

Not sure I could cope with a stinky dog just now, has to tell DH to get away from me this morning because his aftershave was making me sick 😂😂

Aims4488 · 08/05/2019 12:47

Thanks ladies just waiting to be discharged but everything is absolutely fine thankfully. There is a cyst on one of my ovaries that they want to monitor and need to contact my own GP as blood pressure was on the high side but had an internal scan & baby is measuring 6 weeks and heart was flickering away on screen 😍

December2019 · 08/05/2019 12:53

@peasando my OH was eating pizza last night and the smell of that was making me feel sick 🤢
I've got 2 stinky pooches they seriously need a bath, one of them has ripped the wallpaper off the wall so she is in my bad books at the moment!
She's been a little bugger since I had my LO she's craving attention all the time (she gets plenty she's spoiled) 😂😂

Mamabear12 · 08/05/2019 12:54

Aims4488 glad to hear it all went well. Have the cramps gone too? I also have a cyst on one of my ovaries and my sister had the same...starting to wonder if the cysts are common? Of course I worried myself a little about the cyst when they said they will monitor it, but not to worry as should go on its own...but once they say monitor my mind starts racing!

Hi I’m just wondering if you can give me some advice I am 7 weeks pregnant (first time) and I am feeling really rubbish at the minute. Being sick and just tired. Can’t keep anything down and I dont know what to do! I work full time but I don’t know how to play it due to not being able to go in because I’m literally being sick all the time and I don’t want to lose my maternity leave, please can someone help me with some advice

Mamabear12 · 08/05/2019 15:45

jadelouis97 I am sorry you are feeling so bad. Can you have plain or salt crackers with small sips of ice water or water? What about ginger ale? Try small amounts of bland foods. Sometimes small amounts help with nausea. I would be honest and just tell your work if its that bad. If something were to go wrong, you would need time off and tell them anyway...so mine as well just tell them. That is my opinion anyway. If its really bad, I would speak to the GP to see if you can get pills to help. My friend who suffered from HG said she wished she had gotten those pills earlier instead of suffering for so many weeks.

@Mamabear12 Still having the cramps but nowhere near as bad as last night or first thing this morning. I do feel better for having the scan & 100% get what everyone was saying about the internal "dildo cam" 😂😂
