Christmas babies

Mamabear12 · 14/04/2019 17:23

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

To those lovely ladies who had their scans today, were they through your tummy or were they internal scans? I don't know why this bothers me so much but an internal scan freaks me out a bit! Have my early scan on Saturday so need to prepare myself lol

peasando · 01/05/2019 18:38

@Mamabear12 they said I'm measuring 6+2 which I think makes me 23rd, same as they said when I phoned up to make my midwife appointment, although by my dates I made it the 22nd.

I have a feeling it's a girl this time - mind you I thought that with my son too! But I've had different symptoms so far and I've had really bad nausea which I never really had with him.

@VeryNewToAllThis it was just an external scan I had and we saw everything fine. I've had internal ones in previous pregnancies though and it's really nothing to worry about. You get great pictures from them too!

Mamabear12 · 01/05/2019 19:14

VeryNewToAllThis I had an internal and never had this before so was scared at first. I hate Pap smears so I was extra nervous. But it’s not so bad at all. And it was amazing to see the little one.

All the apps and Calculators I’ve used say 25th Dec. Even the nhs one. But the doctor worked it out as 26th on her little cardboard thingy this morning . Well I’m sticking with 25th and that’s what I’ll tell ppl when I announce it. It could come anytime round there so it doesn’t make much difference, just like the idea of Xmas day baby

Emmilou82 · 02/05/2019 06:12

Morning folks, hope you are all well....I'm struggling a bit with this exhaustion! I got home from work yesterday (5.20) and just wanted to sleep. All evening I'd get up, do a little bit and lie down again and just want to sleep. I was in bed for 9pm, slept til 3 then I've been tossing and turning. I'm so tired during the day too.

When does it pass?

Got my scan today too at 10.45 so that should be interesting. I'm 6+6 so hoping they detect a heartbeat.....🤞 fingers crossed

Mamabear12 · 02/05/2019 06:24

Emmilou82 I am in the same boat as you! Its all new to me...this not sleeping well, waking up and not being able to get back to sleep etc. My first two pregnancies I didn't have that. I sure hope it will stop soon and sleeping well will happen...as I know whats to come after baby is born lol. Good luck at your scan today!

I have been dreaming about mcdonalds the last few days. Yesterday I was too tired and hungry to walk the 15 minutes to get it. Last night I even had a dream about mcdonalds! I have not had any for a few months, as we just do not have it anymore since having kids....its only a twice a year kind of thing. So today, I might just get it for lunch :) By night time, I am usually not wanting big meals.

Ok so I’m a bit worried
After complaining my boobs were agony since conception and even asking the doctors yday what I can do about them , I woke up this morning and they’re no where near as sore . It says the pain subsides after the first trimester but I’m only 6 weeks

Emmilou82 · 02/05/2019 07:15

@Mamabear12 the thought of McDonalds turns my stomach.....I like a McDs but since being pregnant, I just can't do it!

I dreamt about cats last night....I hate cats (Sorry cat people lol) weird

Mamabear12 · 02/05/2019 07:29

Comps83 try not to worry. Early in pregnancy, symptoms change, come and go. With my first, I thought my boobs shrunk back to normal lol. I still can't believe I waited until 12 weeks to find out if there was a baby in there. I had absolutely no symptoms except for my missed period, so I really thought there may be nothing in there when they scan.

Emmilou82 so funny how everyone has different pregnancies. I am been thinking about mcdonalds every day the last week lol. I even look at the menu online planning what to get. Today, I am going to make it happen! If, I don't get too tired by lunch time lol. My 5am wake ups cause me to be too tired by 11 or 12 to want to go walking all the way to mcdonalds lol. I feel myself slipping with the fruits and veggies. I was not that keen on them before pregnancy and trying to make sure I get a few servings a day....but I am not enough enough (only 2-3 servings, when I should probably have 4-6 servings!). Ah well, at least I am taking a prenatal.

Mamabear12 I'm trying to stick to Slimming world as that incorporates loads of fruit and veg...., if I can healthily lose a couple of pounds be correcting my diet, I'd be happy. I'm not on a diet but trying to eat better.

Hope you're not to tired to get your McD 😬

sportmixture · 02/05/2019 07:55

Hello everyone, I am posting with a little trepidation as my due date should be 25th December, but after a miscarriage last year at 10 weeks and another earlier one this year I am hoping this time I will manage the distance, I am a little older and already have 5dc, the oldest of whom is 23, but this is my 1st with my partner so not wanting to get too excited until I make it past 12 weeks, I see some of you have already scans and although I am considering it, I did have one at 8wks previously and everything looked fine with heartbeat but sadly it wasn’t to be, I’ve just realised I sound really negative but hoping this will be a wonderful positive exciting experience for us all 😊

MrsS7 · 02/05/2019 09:19

Congratulations @sportmixture, positive vibes!

Sorry for TMI but I'm still having the odd bit of brown discharge and it's worrying me even though it's probably normal. I had my booking in appointment yesterday and the midwife didn't seem concerned when I mentioned it. Anyone else the same?

Mamabear12 · 02/05/2019 10:21

Emmilou82 yes, I got my mcdonalds and it was great! I had to get the breakfast because I was so hungry by 9:30am (after having oatmeal and toast with peanut butter and jelly for breakfast at 6am!). I will have a smoothie later today to get in the fruits. I finally feel satisfied after eating mcdonalds :)

sportmixture fingers crossed for you. Will you do the harmony test or any early scans?

MrsS7 I read that is normal before, and only to be concerned if it becomes bright red blood and increases. I had that the first 3-4 days, but more pink mixed w discharge.

Urgh!!! Girls!

My sickness is horrible today! The thought of food is turning my stomach, I've not actually been sick but the nausea is unrelenting
I'm 7 weeks today and I didn't suffer as much last time... maybe I'm having a girl this time 😜... some people say girls give worse morning sickness than boys

Emmilou82 · 02/05/2019 12:37

So I've had my scan and we saw the little heartbeat thank god..... measuring approx. 8mm so we are thrilled! The fibroid they saw is 5cm but at the top of my uterus so not a great concern. I do have a small one on the other side but again they aren't worried! Yipeeee 🥰

peasando · 02/05/2019 13:04

@December2018 I'm exactly the same. All o feel like I can manage is fruit out of the fridge. I don't remember being anywhere near this bad with my son, I was thinking it might be a girl too!

sportmixture · 02/05/2019 13:31

Thank you Mrs S7
Mamabear I will probably have an early scan at around 9 weeks but I’m not sure about the other tests as I didn’t for any of my other pregnancies and I wouldn’t act on them so not really any point.

Summersun8383 · 02/05/2019 14:03

@December2018 oooh I hadn't heard that about girls lol! I'm so the same as you, about 7 weeks and literally feel sick from the minute I wake up til I go to bed, it's awful! In some ways I'd rather just be sick and get it out the way but I didn't feel anywhere near this bad with my son last time so you might be right lol WinkWink

Mamabear12 · 02/05/2019 14:22

I had a girl first and felt no morning sickness. With my boy, sometimes I felt slightly sick in evening. But barely noticeable. I don’t think having and girl or boy makes a difference with the Morning sickness. I did read that if you had it before that with each pregnancy it gets worse. One theory the works for sure is the nub theory. That’s how I figured out what I was having both times at 12 weeks. Google it.

Also my friend had 2 boys and had really bad sickness with both of them... where as I had a little bit but not a lot to make me suffer like I am now 😂 a lot of my friends have had both girl & boy pregnancies and most of them said the sickness was worse with girls... it may not be linked at all but is still fun to guess haha

Summersun8383 · 02/05/2019 14:35

@December2018 yes probably means nothing but it is fun wondering! My husbands theory is that there's more than one in there as I feel so much worse than last time ha😂 I was like one step at a time dear haha

peasando · 02/05/2019 16:11

@Summersun8383 my husband thought that too - but there was only one in there when I had my scan yesterday! Phew! 😃

Summersun8383 · 02/05/2019 17:15

@peasando aww glad your scan went well and that there's just the one ha😂 I keep toying with going for an early one but think I'll probs just hang on....12 weeks is such a long wait isn't it!

Babykent2019 · 02/05/2019 19:15

I had my booking in appointment today (9+4) they couldn't get the bloods though so off to the hospital tommorow for the doctor to take them. Just realised I'm a wuss around needles 😬.
We had a scan a few weeks back but was to early to see anything (6weeks) I've booked one for Friday next week so hoping they can tell if there's more than one in there. I feel massive already and trousers are beginning to Shrink. 🙈

VeryNewToAllThis · 02/05/2019 19:31

@Babykent2019 what sort of questions did they ask at the booking appointment?
