Christmas babies

Mamabear12 · 14/04/2019 17:23

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

@Comps83 I'm the same as you sorry I was rounding up! X

Emmilou82 · 28/04/2019 09:12

@Comps83 I have t been to the gym since early march cos I just lost the motivation but think I might contact the PT and get back on it if I can be @rsed lol

Coffeeandcake87 · 28/04/2019 13:34

I cannot believe how rough I am feeling today, tons of nausea no sickness, feel like I've been hit by a truck and standing up feels like way too much effort. I'm at work today and I soooo don't want to be. Feel like an emotional wreck and I want an early scan so I definitely know there's a baby there (despite 14 tests saying there is and all the symptoms) but OH is saying outright no and to wait till my 12 week scan on 13th June, how the hell am I going to be patient enough for that?!

Nervousdave · 28/04/2019 13:57

My nausea seems a little less today, but I have had the most horrific migraine since I woke up at 0830. Not being able to take all my normal migraine drugs due to pregnancy sucks! Just been on paracetamol, sugary tea and 4Head stick Sad

Comps83 · 28/04/2019 14:02

I’m waiting for my migraines to kick in considering they are hormone related. Or occasionally thunder storm related Confused
I managed to get my gym kit on . But then dh and I had yet another row. So I’m sat sulking instead

Not sure if people have already found this but I find it very useful

diplodoco · 28/04/2019 20:02

That's so useful @Comps83 thanks for posting the link

Mamabear12 · 28/04/2019 20:09

Coffeeandcake87 Why does he decide? Can’t you just go get the scan? I booked myself in and didn’t think to ask dh. I told later on in passing, btw I’ve decided to do an early scan so I’ll go on x day. And I booked a harmony test, which is x day and the nhs 12 week scan is x day. I will go to early scan myself and he will join for harmony and 12 week scan.

It really is your decision on whether to get an early scan now. My first two times I just waited until the 12 week scan, not sure how! But this time around I want to do an early scan.

@mamabear12 he's an absolute caveman and it's not worth the hassle to argue with him then to deal with the sulking after. Considering going behind his back and not even telling him but dunno if I could do that. Men make things too awkward x

Emmilou82 · 28/04/2019 20:26

I can't cope with this bloatedness and full feeling!!!! I feel humongous......

OH says I don't but bloody hell, I feel shocking! 😩

frillyfarmer · 28/04/2019 20:33

@Coffeeandcake87 if you think it will reassure you just book one and don't tell him if he's got such an issue with it. My DH probs won't come to early scan but he appreciates why I need to have one.

Coffeeandcake87 · 28/04/2019 20:50

I'm really tempted too but at the same time so scared that if I do and something wrong then obviously would have to tell him etc etc. Eugh totally can't cope with all these emotions the now.

Anyone else been struggling a bit with their balance lately? X

Emmilou82 · 28/04/2019 20:53

@Coffeeandcake87 I've been ridiculously moody and yesterday couldn't stand my husband lol....

Not been bad today though x

Mamabear12 · 28/04/2019 20:59

Coffeeandcake87 surely, if something were wrong and you had to tell him, he would be supportive etc...would he really want you to wait until 12 weeks to find out something is wrong? It sounds like he is controlling and you are scared of him, which is concerning. This should not be such an issue to book an early scan if you want. If my dh did not want me to, I would just do it behind his back. He wanted me to book the harmony test with one clinic, but I decided on another and he kept trying to get me to switch to other clinic (where we are members, but they do not have as many appointments as the one I selected and also, wants me to pay a deposit just to book the appointment - hell no am I going to pick a place who wants me to pay 250 just to book and hold a place!). The place I went with, I do my pap smears at, also have been to scans for in my last pregnancy. And they do not require any deposits to make a booking! Anyway, I made it clear, in a nice way, that I am going with my choice of clinics to get the harmony and scan done...

Do what you feel is right for you. And if you want to do an early scan, but are scared he might find out, I would think long and hard about that. He is your partner and supposed to be supportive.

Found this earlier. Thought was very appropriate for my moods lately. DH just seems extra annoying at the moment

Aims4488 · 28/04/2019 21:04

@Emmilou82 The bloating for me has actually got to the point where I am only comfortable in leggings or pj bottoms.

I realised today as well that big meals are a no no at the moment struggled to eat it all & then felt so nauseous afterwards.

Emmilou82 · 29/04/2019 05:59

@Aims4488 luckily my jeans are stretchy ones so I have got plenty of room in them but like yourself, I'm living in PJ bottoms or leggings. Not sure I'll even be able to fasten my work trousers up today 😩 I need to find a cheap alternative....

Aims4488 · 29/04/2019 06:34

@Emmilou82 It's a shame its not nicer weather at the moment as all my summery trousers have elasticated waists just wouldnt look right in the rain 😂 i think I may do the same as you invest in a cheap pair of elastic waist black trousers for work as only so many days I can wear leggings.

Emmilou82 · 29/04/2019 07:07

My colleague ordered me some from Amazon.... £10 for 2 pairs. I've just tried them on and they aren't great but to be fair if I got some longline tops, or tunics, they are great. They are a bit clingy on my thighs but I can live with that for a bit lol

Emmilou82 · 29/04/2019 07:41

Im in my normal ones..... they won't fasten mind but I can do the zip up lol

I'm only in work half a day today as Ive got parents evening this afternoon so I can change as soon as I get home 😬 I need to sort the ironing out so I'll go through my wardrobe too!!!

Knowing me I'll come home and have a sleep instead lol

Aims4488 · 29/04/2019 08:08

@Emmilou82 I have gone for high waisted leggings today & oh my they are so comfortable 😂 also black top as I feel I need the slimming factor at the moment to also hide the bloat & also hide the fact I am sure my boobs have gone up a cup size!

Haha I dont blame you about going home to sleep, we have decided after work tonight we will go swimming which means I will 100% fall asleep on the sofa watching tv later on.

General question ladies do you find your boobs are sore at certain times during the day? Mine are really sore first thing in the morning & then later on in the day/evening.

EmeraldRubyShark · 29/04/2019 08:11

It’s really weird, I know obviously it’s nothing to do with the baby itself (which is the size of a blueberry!) but I’ve never in my life been so bloated at the end of the day as this past couple of weeks since being pregnant! It’s incredible, my stomach is huge and painful and I’m just full of bloat and gas, the size of it last night was actually making my back hurt walking around and I went to bed early cos being laid down was the only comfortable position. OH have a really stupid basic in joke where I tell him I have a fat tummy and he tells me I don’t (after a surgery earlier this year where I really did cos they inflated my abdominal cavity with gas and it was huge and rock hard for a couple of weeks when normally my stomach is totally flat). But last night I told him I did and lifted my top up and he was so shocked he accused me of forcing it out 😂 I really wasn’t lol.

Anyone else dealing with this!? Apparently it’s progesterone. It’s totally new to me! Quite fun though as it feels like carrying a bump around and is a cute glimpse into the future!

EmeraldRubyShark · 29/04/2019 08:21

Aims4488 mine seem most sore at night when I remove my bra as they’ve been cooped up all day. Other than that they’re sore all of the time but I only really notice if I grab them or drive over a speed bump or have to run somewhere! My nipples have darkened already too.

Emmilou82 · 29/04/2019 08:25

@EmeraldRubyShark I look and feel dreadful at the end of the day.

I just go huge as if I've not stopped eating for the last 2 week yet I'm choosing my foods carefully!

My boobs are huge and so so sore, I said to OH I feel like so I'm doing at the moment is complaining and sleeping lol

December2018 · 29/04/2019 08:53

My symptoms have disappeared again, I get the odd wave of nausea and the odd cramp and that's it... worrying me a little bit if I'm honest, no food aversions either, this time last pregnancy I was sooooo sick!
I have the bloat though 😂
