Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

Emmilou82 I smoked for a few years before I got pregnant. At uni it was a pack a day 24 pack! I still can't believe it! AWFUL!!!!!!!!!! Then I cut back to 10 a day and just before I got pregnant it was 3-5 a day. Getting pregnant was enough to quit cold turkey. I did not even want it. I did miss it from time to time...like how I miss my wine now...but it was okay and I never looked back. Its now been over 8 years no smoking for me. If you manage to quit this pregnancy, try not to get back to the habit. Its the only way to not fall back into it.

Maybe Hayls. Although our weekends are pretty manic up until the wedding so may have to arrange a girls day after the wedding.
We are getting married June 14TH. 🥰

Emmilou82 · 27/04/2019 15:01

Thanks @Mamabear12 I'm going to really try. I said to my hubby, I'll try really hard but if I fall of the wagon please be patient with me..... he's never smoked and just thinks it's easy but hey ho, I'm on day 2 so fingers crossed.
I'm just keeping my mind occupied as that helps

Mamabear12 · 27/04/2019 15:27

Emmilou82 yea it aint easy! At least before when I first tried to quit when I was smoking a pack a day...the first two days I felt like I was going crazy! It was so difficult. But I manage to stop for a month...and then cut back to 10 a day...to which I eventually cut down to 3-5 a day so by the time I quit when I found out I was pregnant it was so easy to quit.

And btw - does anyone just feel pretty much normal? I am 6 weeks tomorrow and hoping I continue to just feel pretty much normal! Initially I felt really bloated...but now I feel less bloated and more normal. Im a little tired and thats it....which is normal for me according to my first two pregnancies. I just hope it continues...as I hear pregnancies can be different.

Also, do you find it hard to focus? I am supposed to be working on an assignment...but I am just not in the mood at all!!!!!!!!!!

Afternoon ladies

I can sympathise with anyone who has been dealing with their other half getting on their nerves etc I ended up shouting at mine in the middle of Lidl car park for not helping then felt instantly bad when we got in the car, just wanted him to use common sense to help me 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have given up vaping but must admit am really struggling with it as probably did use it a bit too much at times & thats probably not helping with how agitated I feel at the moment.

I have booked my early scan for the 30th May when I will be just over 9 weeks as that was the only evening date they had looking forward to it & thats going to be one of my little milestones to get to my first one is the midwife appointment on the 21st May as unfortunately we never got there last time.

Hope everyone else is well xx

VeryNewToAllThis · 27/04/2019 16:05

@Mamabear12 I feel exactly the same as you! This is my first so I'm unsure what to expect but at the start, like you, I was super bloated. That seems to have settled a little (cue the constipation! Sorry TMI!) but generally feeling fine... and as I've got to go back to teaching all day on Monday I'm glad (although it does feed my worries about not 'feeling' pregnant enough / will things go wrong). Hoping prepping my GCSE students and the general panic of exams will keep my mind off it all!

Emmilou82 · 27/04/2019 16:31

Apart from really sore boobs and tiredness, I don't really feel pregnant. I said to OH earlier I really don't feel pregnant.
Though I've just had a massive urge for KFC so I might go and indulge whilst I can lol

Mamabear12 · 27/04/2019 16:38

Yea, I don't really feel pregnant. The first week I had massive bloating, which calmed, I have a tiny bump (third baby so body shows it early)....but it looks more like bloating, although, I do not feel bloating. I have been kind of snacking and I am hungry. I want something yummy to eat. I am slightly annoyed my DH has offered to make dinner tonight as he has selected a healthy chicken stew.....and I want something yummy...it better be yummy. It has artichokes in it though...not my favourite. I would prefer an italian pasta dish or lasagne and salad. I have this weird thing of being hungry and yet not really feeling like eating...its like my snacks do not fill me up...tummy rumbling. I had a cup of gazpacho soup and a packet of crisps, some pieces of chocolate and tummy rumbling like I have not eaten in hours! I am waiting for dinner though....should be done soon (30 mins). We eat early in this household :)

@Mamabear12 yeah we eat early. Just had KFC but It did nothing for me. I really fancied it but it wasn't like I hoped it to be.
I go from satisfied and full to so hungry it's like I've not eaten all day. So annoying

Hi all, I’ve just found out I’m pregnant due December, my partner and I are over the moon, I haven’t told anyone else yet. I’m only 21 and I’m on an emotional rollercoaster worried people will judge me, I’m worried about everything, work, family (although I know my parents will be ecstatic),friends. I’m not coping very well at the minute, any tips, or any other first time mums in the same situation?

Sorry to drop my thoughts on you all x

Coffeeandcake87 · 27/04/2019 20:22

I can't stop eating, healthy stuff is doing nothing for me either, my food choices this past week have been atrocious lol and I have no energy whatsoever for cooking so it's been mostly Takeaways 🙄 lol

Comps83 · 27/04/2019 20:37

I just ate a Chinese take away which must have weighed about a stone

Losd · 27/04/2019 20:48

I graduated from nausea to projectile vomiting and toilet hugging tonight so guess it’s dry crackers and gingernuts exclusively for me now 🙄
SJ1997 Congratulations! I can’t really offer any advice but I’m in same boat when it comes to telling people. I’m 35 but had been ill for a few years there and as a result am not in a great place financially. I’m single and live in a tiny flat, am just going back to work in a week after 18months off (unpaid) and am 8 weeks pregnant by a sperm donor😂 I know how this looks from an outsiders perspective and I don’t care. I didn’t make the decision to have a child now on a whim and do not plan on discussing it in any detail with anybody except the child and second child when they’re older. All I can say to you is at 21 you’re young but not a schoolkid, everyone will adore the baby and nobody has the right to pass comment or judgement on your situation, don’t stress about the opinions of others, I’ve wasted so much of my life doing that and it’s pointless xx

Hayls17 · 27/04/2019 21:20

Congrats sj1997! I was 25 when I had my first so a little bit older but I totally get where you are coming from, I was so scared of telling people! Everyone was great about it though! I think it’s just the initial telling people that’s the hardest part. I felt so awkward and embarrassed telling people, especially family! But once it’s out it’s done and people are mostly excited for you.

SJ1997 · 27/04/2019 22:52

Thankyou, it's very exciting but also nerve racking, I'm going for a midwifes appointment next week so I'll take it from there, thanks for your kind words and reassurance, I'll keep everyone updated xx

Comps83 · 28/04/2019 00:02

I’m sure it’s not normal for boobs to be this sore this early . They’re excruciating. And feel hot to the touch .

Emmilou82 · 28/04/2019 07:06

@Comps83 mine are exactly the same.....I don't remember them being so sore last time but that was 12 years ago!

My nipples are horrendously tender. Even the water in the shower hurts them!

Manthy16 · 28/04/2019 07:26

Hi All - sorry joining the party.

Found out I'm pregnant with my second last week. Currently 6 weeks I haven't told many people but my stomach is so big I don't think I'll be able to wait until 12 weeks to let everyone know! It's literally popped out straight away - no sickness just sore boobs now. Online calculator says my due date is Christmas Day!

Is anyone else showing so early??

Emmilou82 · 28/04/2019 07:49

Hi @Manthy16 welcome and congratulations.....

I'm only 6 + 2 and have a bit of a bump already....This is my second. I too am not sure how I'm going to hide it much longer Grin

HeybabyNo2 · 28/04/2019 08:05

Congratulations @Emmilou82 I didn't think my stomach would show so quick but looking forward to this journey! (Sorry quick change in username lol)

Emmilou82 · 28/04/2019 08:34

@HeybabyNo2 according to my husband, it's not as noticeable as I think it is but I'm conscious if it and try to hide it the best I can, for now.....

Need to sort some trousers out as I can't currently fasten my work trousers because of the bloat!

HeybabyNo2 · 28/04/2019 08:40

@Emmilou82 I've had to do the same all the clothes I'd normally wear would look ridiculous now! My husband makes it sound like I'm not that big. However my best friend and mum are pretty honest.. Blush so think he is trying to make me feel better lol!

Comps83 · 28/04/2019 08:42

@Emmilou82 I haven’t been to the gym for weeks
Mainly due to laziness but I honestly don’t think I’ll get my spots bra on over them. I know what you mean about the shower too!
@manthy16 I’m due Xmas day too, but I’ve got myself as only 5+4

December2018 · 28/04/2019 08:50

Urghhhh my back is so painful this morning and currently carrying a 17lbs chunky bum on my hip isn't helping 😂... he will not be put down I'm sure he knows something
