Christmas babies

Just found out I’m expected a Christmas baby, well due 23 December according to online, which has been accurate in the past give or take a day! I know my cycle etc. Excited and nervous. Had some minor spotting the past few days, but AF never showed so took a test today and it was positive!

Anyone else due within days of Xmas? Might take a few days for people to find out if they are expecting a xmas baby. But thought I would start the thread now.

I’ve just been flicking through my wedding photos and realised the car my dad had at the time which we used as the wedding car has the last three letters in the reg BFP Grin

Aims4488 · 24/04/2019 10:49

Congrats @Coffeeandcake87

@Comps83 Haha I do love when you notice little things like that it was meant to be

I have decided today I am not telling work until I have had my scan that may well change if I start being sick but only started my job 3 weeks ago after being in my previous job 7 years so typical it would all happen now and of course am aware I am likely to not get any maternity pay & will probably have to go through the government for this. We have also decided not to tell family due to the previous miscarriage.

December2018 · 24/04/2019 11:49

@Comps83 omg!! If that's not a sign I don't know what is 😍
I'm still craving sausages like a madwoman! Apparently if your lacking iron your body will automatically go on a meat frenzy 😂

Comps83 · 24/04/2019 11:51

Anyone else’s boob pain change throughout the day?
Mine’s much worse at night.

VeryNewToAllThis · 24/04/2019 12:02

@Comps83 I'm exactly the same! Fine all day, only sore if I knock them, then at night they're super sore and heavy! Glad it's not just me lol

MamaGeordie · 24/04/2019 12:17

Yep, my boons seem to be most sore in the morning and then again at night. Weird. My stomach is in bits today too, I'm at work tonight so it needs to sort itself out!

MamaGeordie · 24/04/2019 12:21

Chuffed I got this today!! 12dpo 😁

Mum637k · 24/04/2019 12:26

Hi ladies, i would like to join you 😊 anyone doing or already had any early scans?

Emmilou82 · 24/04/2019 12:38

So I've had a meeting with my boss and she's over the moon for us.... she couldn't stop smiling and was understanding of the scan we are having tomorrow. We have decided not to mention it to HR until we know it's viable which I completely agree with so fingers crossed tomorrow's scan goes well x

glitterbomb13 · 24/04/2019 12:43

Hi everyone! My due date is 25th Dec 🙈 so looking to join in x

Maryjanemain · 24/04/2019 12:43

Hi all, I found out I was pregenant a few weeks ago now. My app calculates it as the 21st December, this is the day before my birthday. But some other apps calculate it as the 16th? Not sure which one is collected, so confusing. I'm booked in with the doctors next Friday.

I've had mild nausea occasionally but feel super tired, exhausted at times. Is this normal?

Thanks x

peasando · 24/04/2019 12:44

@Comps83 yes me too, boobs definitely get sorer (and bigger!) as day goes on.

@MamaGeordie Congratulations!

@Mum637k congratulations to you too! I have a scan next Wednesday at 6+3 due to previous losses. I'm wishing this week away because I just want to have the scan and know we're doing ok!

Does any one have a bump yet? I know it can only be bloat at this stage but I really look like I'm showing. Not planning to tell work until 14 weeks but not convinced I'll get away with it!

peasando · 24/04/2019 12:46

And welcome to the others who joined in the time it took me to type that essay!! 😋

MrsS7 · 24/04/2019 13:42

@Emmilou82 I've just had the exact same meeting with my boss! She was really happy and excited for me, and I'm not telling HR until later on either. I have an early scan tomorrow night so really hoping it goes well. This is my first pregnancy but I'm very anxious.
@Comps83 definitely worse at night!

Aims4488 · 24/04/2019 13:51

Ladies those of you who are having early scans is that through the GP? Just I asked mine yesterday & he said no didnt know if it was worth paying £100 for a private one or just to be patient until 12 week scan??

Emmilou82 · 24/04/2019 13:58

@Aims4488 yes mine was through the GP but I had my sterilisation reversed and so the consultant from the private hospital told my GP to refer me. You can have private scan but cost varies in each area

MrsS7 · 24/04/2019 14:00

@Aims4488 mine is a private scan, I'm paying £79. Wanted to be patient and wait for 12 weeks but I'm a worrier and thought it would really help me! It's just up to personal choice.

December2018 · 24/04/2019 14:22

@Aims4488 hey hun I've only paid £40 for mine I got a deal on groupon worth having a look

RubaiyatOfAnyone · 24/04/2019 14:54

Hello, can i nervously join you? I'm currently about 6+3 and due December 15th.

I'm basically terrified about everything to do with this pregnancy, partly due to a MMC last year discovered at 11 week scan (baby had died at 9 weeks), and partly because (due to this pregnancy being from IUI) I had bloods done at the beginning and they were flagged by the nurse as 'too low, possibly ectopic', and it's taken until today to get a clear answer that everything is actually okay so far. Had a scan this morning and saw a heartbeat, and baby in the right place, which is all i can hope for at the moment.

Now moving on to being terrified about the NIPT test at 10 weeks (i'm 40 so my risk level is automatically high). I think i might relax if i can get past my 20 week scan, but until then i'm going to be a miserable ball of anxiety. This is so different to my first, excited and joyful pregnancy. Bah. Sorry, I think i just had to write some of that down to get it out of my system.

Aims4488 · 24/04/2019 15:21

Thanks @Emmilou82 @MrsS7 & @December2018 didnt think about looking on groupon just checked and no deals my way. Annoyingly there is a place that does them at £79 called window2womb but they only have Tuesday & Thursday appointments when I am at work will email the other place nearby and hopefully they can do a weekend or evening just want reassurance more than anything that everything is ok.

Comps83 · 24/04/2019 15:31

There’s a place near me does them for £60 and all there appts are after 5.30
Not sure when to book in for

xgemx5 · 24/04/2019 15:53

Congrats everyone 😊 Found out last week I am expecting baby no 4 but the first with my partner. He has a son from a previous relationship. My last pregnancy was nearly 8 years ago so it feels strange to have all the symptoms again, sickness, sore boobs & tiredness lol. Due some time in December, worked it out around the 15th but could be abit earlier. Looking forward to booking in with midwife & getting the date of first scan 🥰

xgemx5 · 24/04/2019 15:55

@Comps83 glad it's not just me, mine was so sore yesterday, literally hurt taking my bra off 😩 lol xx

Comps83 · 24/04/2019 16:03

My bras don’t fit me anymore ! Sad

BeckyG86 · 24/04/2019 16:38

I am looking at paying for a viability scan at 6 weeks. We have a place called Window to the Womb about 5 minutes drive from us who are doing them for £59 and they have had good reviews. I tried to get it for next Thursday as that is my Birthday and will be 6 weeks 1 day then, but they only do them on Tuesdays and Sundays so can’t until the Sunday after at the earliest (6 weeks 4 days).
