BabyMadwithBump on Thu 24-May-07 14:57:52
I've been dreaming of a baby girl, 9lb 2oz, on the 27 July with dark black hair, but I predict a baby boy, 8lb 1oz, also 27 July, with very light hair! We'll see!

Chooster on Thu 24-May-07 15:08:03
Oh, predictions!!!!
For me, I reckon boy (guess that's in the bag), 23rd July, 8lbs 2oz

MrsMcJnr on Thu 24-May-07 15:22:29

KitKat30 on Thu 24-May-07 15:26:29

firststar on Thu 24-May-07 15:47:32
Hi ladies
first of all let me get business out of the way....predictions...for me a boy 7lb 2oz (going against all my big baby comments) 22nd July (early I think) , upping the weight prediction of mine to 8lb 6oz.

seaside72 on Thu 24-May-07 16:18:25
predictions - arghh - I have no idea - if we get there I am sure I will be late - 24 January is my prediction
weight ??
sex - would be lying if I did not say girl - but thats more about preconceptions and imagining rather than what I actually feel - Chinese cal says girl but realstically I think prob boy - my DH is convinced it's a boy already!

honeyapple on Fri 25-May-07 08:29:20
I predict to be late... as was VERRY late with DD... also predict baby to be a bit bigger... 7 lb 10 maybe?
How about 31/10/07 7.10 girl (changed to BOY 12/07/07)

fettleandminifettle on 11/07/07 25th September, 8lbs exactly!

Greedy PMSL at your thoughts on Chooster and Mr Chooster's food! any twinges with you?

honeyapple · 18/09/2007 16:08

Hope it's going well fettle...
Hi everyone else
x

Just been around a friends house and she gave me a load of her son's baby clothes... DD said "Oh we've got too much baby clothes already thanks..."

Chooster · 18/09/2007 16:54

PMSL at your DD honeyapple - they've got no social etiquette have they . My neighbour has only got one arm and Max is fascinated by it. Its fine to ask a couple of times but Max always asks what happened to his elbow . Good news on getting the clothes though!

You're right Greedy, DH and I do like our food!!!! Actually with the eclairs, I bought them cos I wanted one but then told DH it was a peace offering when he came home all sorry for the row... I'd better get more than a bar of galaxy for xmas

LOL at your technical spreadsheet MrsMc - thats very organised. I couldn't get my DH that interested in it. Buggy buying is complicated business isn't it! With DS1 I went shopping once to one of these big baby warehouse shops in the States and bought the first one I liked the look of - I had no clue . Got to say though it was a great buy in the end . Its just a bit mangled now from plane journeys. Love your labour film selection - Hope you get a day time kick-off!! BTW, I am totally with you on keeping labour to yourself - I didnt want anyone to know til the boys were out - I just knew my mum would go into hysterical over-drive and MIL would start crying.

Come on Fettle we're all rooting for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just back from theo's second swim lesson - he was good an this time I had to dunk him under the water twice myself - pretty nerve racking but he was fine . Firsty, I was told you dont need to wait for immunisations anymore to swim. The worry came from a time when live polio was used in the injections. I double checked with GP too and she said the same thing.

MrsMcJnr · 18/09/2007 17:00

Hey ladies just checking for news quickly before I go home - home, yes, can't wait - shattered today and there are lots of ill people in the office, at home tomorrow!

Chooster · 18/09/2007 20:52

Oh, and I meant to add, Bodkin, I didn't think you were being snotty at all earlier! Although its not much of a routine, Theo is pretty much awake from 4pm to 8.30 / 9pm ish each night. I've just put him to bed to nod off as he seems knackered! He also tends to be awake from 7am to about 11am-ish - and the bit in between he just sleeps / feeds and poo's!

Wonder if Toby is out yet??

greedygreedyguzzler · 18/09/2007 22:26

chooster / firsty - i heard that about not waiting for jabs anymore before you take them swimming too! i took dd when she was 5 wks old ( she hated it) but made me feel like i was doing something with her! (always had a complex that i got to do so much more with ds and she missed out on so much!)

no news from our lovely fettle yet then? i hope its all going smoothly!

i had lots more twinges tonight and thought it could all be happening, but it soon wore off!!! i was talking to 3 of the mums at school this morning and one of them had both her dds 3 wks early, another was 4 wks early with her dd and another was 2 wks early with hers!!! .............................i just know i will go overdue!!!! my mum told me earlier that i have to have the baby next tue cos she wants to make sure i am all recovered and coping ok before she goes away for the weekend at the start of oct! bless her, she is a superstar!!!! and THANK GOD ......my in laws have gone back home!!!!! even dh just said..........its nice to have our house back isn't it? (he is busy moving furniture around at the moment while i am on here relaxing!!!) but i have just finished glossing some door frames so i don't feel too guilty!!!

come on fettle .............................PUSH!!!

fettleandminifettle · 18/09/2007 23:25

Hello All,

First post of 'Fettle Watch' from DH here!!

I have just been sent home to get some sleep as not a huge amount seems to be happening so far. Two lots of Prostin and lots of mini-contractions but no full blown labour as of yet. Was 1cm dilated earlier and they could have used the old crochet hook but decided to use the second lot of prostin and wait until tomorrow to try in earnest.

Thanks for all the words of support, I will ensure DW (is that the right term to use?!?!?) knows you are all thinking of her.

I am sure I will have more news tomorrow!!

Hope you are all well.

Mr Fettle

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2007 09:26

oh thanks for the update Mr Fettle we are all so excited for you all - hope things don't take too much longer!

Rainbowdays · 19/09/2007 10:53

Mr Fettle - thank you for the update, hopefully today will see some more progress, I hope Fettle got some rest last night too, ready for the big push today. Minifettle is obviously very comfy cosy where he is at the moment!

Greedy - glad you got your house back to yourselves again. You asked why I am so busy at the moment, yep having two littlies is one reason but I have also just moved house! But I am still trying to clear out the old one, and my phoneline is still in the old house with the computer internet access.... frustrating.

I am feeling quite sick still but I have to say that even with that I am still worried about this LO. I am trying to be patient but I am anxious to hear the heartbeat and check that everything is ok. The miscarriage has really put a dampener on this pregnancy, I have no reason to be concerned, but I still am. Oh well, such is life. I will be checking in again tomorrow I hope to hear of mini fettles grand arrival.

seaside72 · 19/09/2007 11:21

just popped on for a fettle update Thank you for keeping us posted Mr fettle!! So hope today brings you both your new little bundle without the use of the crochet hook.

Loads of love and big pushes to your DW

Waves to everyone else - am in the middle of spreadsheet hell but hope to be back later for a catchup.

PS - MrsMc -despite my current spreadsheet hell I am liking the sound of your buggy spreadsheet!!! might take you up on the offer to share as I am sooooo confused and lost in buggy world

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/09/2007 14:20

still no news!!!! come on fettle.......you can do it!!!!!!

i have a VERY important question...................is half a box of chocolates in one go too much???!!!...........or not enough????!!!..........i can't decide!

Chooster · 19/09/2007 14:31

Not enough!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you really need to ask, especially at 38wks pg . Mmm, thats making me hungry although am trying to be good. At swimming yesterday there some women there whose figures I would have died for even when I was in my twenties - and yes they had babies around the same age as Theo - There's no excuse for that is there????

Still no news... - Hope its happened by now Mr Fettle . Look forward to hearing more news...

By the way Greedy, my best mate grew up in Sawbridgeworth - small world eh?! I didn't know her then as we met when living together in London but she's 33 so you may know her if you grew up there too?

MrsMcJnr · 19/09/2007 15:02

Greedy ? ohhh sounded exciting with those twinges ? hope they come back soon ? if you don?t have your baby before next Fri I?ll have to get Chooster to text me as I?ll be in Spain and couldn?t stand not knowing! Glad the PIL have gone! ½ box of chocs is never enough ? its like foreplay without the rest!

Rainbowdays ? I know exactly how you feel hon, I think all of us who have had MCs have felt the same, I really hope you get your reassurance soon x

Seaside ? I think DH has nearly finished his spreadsheet creation though that said, he may have abandoned it as I think we have decided ? but will still look at the first wheels and icandies this weekend. I?ll check the status and CAT you (are you signed up?)

Chooster ? ladies like the ones at the pool only eat tissues, what kind of existence is that?

Fettle, Fettle ? thinking of you ? hope you are cuddling a small bundle now

honeyapple · 19/09/2007 16:07

AAHHHHH The suspense is killing me!
Come on Fettle!

AAHHHHH also my bloody pains are killing me... could hardly walk up the hill to get kids from school today . I must have looked like a real loon... gurning and grabbing me legs! I reckon this has turned into official SPD. Might put me off having anymore babies!!

Hi Rainbowdays... when is your next scan? How many weeks are you now?

Greedy- what chocs were they? Makes a BIG difference...

Hi everybody else
xx

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/09/2007 17:00

chocolates have all gone!!! didn't even wait to see what you ladies thought, i just made an executive decision and scoffed the lot!!! have been eating bright green dinosaur cookies since then cos we made some this afternoon.

i have had such a lovely day with my kids, they have been so cute and lovely!........someone remind me that i said that in a few weeks when i am tearing my hair out cos i have 3 kids whinging at me!!

chooster - i wouldn't know your best mate cos i grew up all over the place!!!! moved every 2 years with my dads job.......................i seem to remember you said you did similar..is that right? AND I HATE ALL THESE NATURALLY SKINNY BIRDS!!!! ( sorry bodders, honeyapple, babymad, seaside and any other naturally skinnies!!!)

mrs - i love your foreplay analogy!!! i will try my hardest to have my baby before next fri. next tue is what i am aiming for!!! lerts see if i get lucky!!! i must try and find my prediction again!!!

hiya honeyapple - you didnt get these pains with your other two then? i get a burning pain right at the front of my pelvis like lo is trying to push her way out. not long left for you to suffer though!! are you scared yet? and if not, why not!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/09/2007 17:03

sorry, forgot to mention fettle and obviously that is the reason i came on here AGAIN to check!!!!!

fettle, if you knew how sad i have been today and how many times i have been on here checking up on you, then you would laugh at me!!! just as well ( for everyones sake!) i haven't posted every time i have come on!!!

KitKat30 · 19/09/2007 17:04

Argh - popped on for Fettle watch!! The suspense is killing me.... sending you (and Mr Fettle and mini Fettle) lots and lots of good vibes. xxxx

KitKat30 · 19/09/2007 17:05

And me Greeds!!

Dont worry about the chocs - I have just scoffed a Twix (in your honour of course) and I dont even have PG as an excuse! I should be desperately dieting to get rid of wobbly belly, but I cant be arsed...

Any more twinges for you??

iampgatlast · 19/09/2007 18:28

Hello ladies!!

After typing out such a long post yesterday and then my comp freezing on me I have decided to use word tonight and save as I go so here goes?..

Fettle I wanted to say I hope it all goes well and as pain free and smoothly as labour can possibly be, but I bet little toby might be here by now? Thanks mr fettle for updating us all. I hope the crochet hook wasn?t necessary after seeing that horrible picture of it sending you lots of love and hugs to your family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

It is going to take me way to long to post individually as I have had to catch up on nearly 2 weeks worth of posts so im just going to say I hope all of your bumps and adorable babies are doing well and growing by the day (sure as hell know my bump is!!) still getting rather annoyed at the comment ?for 5 months your rather small? I seriously never imagined peoples comments would be sooooo tedious!!

On the buggy chat - we really are keen on the quinny and the must have for us is the carry cot option although dp insists that the buggy should also be a 3 wheeler but I have seen a real funky buggy in a mag but cant for the life of me think of the name I just know its uber expensive!!

Sorry this post is mainly me me me lol but for those of you that are interested in my fantastic holiday here goes?..

When I booked I requested a 4 star luxury hotel on the beach half board and within about a 10-15 minute walk to the bars and restaurants. I was assured this is what I had and it cost me £1100. (by the way this is the first holiday me and dp have had since we have been together so I wanted it to be special)

When we arrived at the hotel it looked beautiful until we got to our room, we had single beds no air conditioning, the room was dated with shabby décor. The shower was wonky so half of the water went over the tiled floor which was soooo slippy!! And the shower curtain stuck to you when showering. The balcony moved atleast a foot outwards and we over looked the dustbins and british bars and an arcade that played the crazy frog every 10 minutes until gone 4am.

We asked to changed rooms at reception but were told impossible due to the hotel being full. (with Russians I might add who are incredibly ignorant and RUDE)

So that night we went down for dinner at the restaurant, the food was awful there was no variety and was obviously aimed at the Russians because there was no sign of English food or even Spanish food, me and dp are not even fussy but even he said he was sticking with a salad I opted for the desserts?.so over I went to choose some yummy bits of gateau and sponge when I saw flies landing on all of the cakes!! so needless to say that was the last time we ate in the restaurant.

The next day we had the welcome meeting and the rep insisted on talking to everyone individually about bar crawls and the nightlife etc so me and dp walked off to get some water and came back 10 mins later, by this time he was talking to someone else so we made it obvious we were sitting waiting for him then he got up and said ?well I need to be at another hotel in 5 mins and it takes 15 to get there? I couldn?t believe it when he just walked off so we called him over and told him we wernt happy with the hotel etc and he said he would sort somthiing out for us Tuesday but we had to hold off until then. So Tuesday came and went and the rep wasn?t seen again until the day we were waiting for the coach home and he came staggering up the path downing water telling the other rep how drunk he still was.

So the coach that tok us to the airport turned up 10 mins late and then they didn?t have us on the list for pick up, then we had to wait for some other muppets who couldn?t get up on time. We were due to be at the airport for 9:30 but arrived at 10:10 so everyone else had checked in. when we got to the check in desk we were told we couldn?t sit together. So I was fuming atthis point but dp said don?t worry this ordeal will be over and we will be home soon?.haha what a joke!!!!
On the plane we were the only ones who was not served dinner we had paid for, when I questioned the flight attendent he simply said they had run out of cooked meals and I could have a voucher?.what good is a bloody voucher I screamed at him!!! So then he brought me over a sandwich and crisps from his trolley but dp got nothing so I had to share!! So really that was the perfect ending for the shittest and most stressfull holiday I have had in my life.

So when we got home dp realised he didn?t have his wallet and the only place it could be was in the taxi so we drove back up the airport trying to hunt down the taxi driver that took us home, he wasn?t there but after an hour of the taxi drivers on their walkie talkies they tracked him down and the wallet had been found whilst the cab was being cleaned thank god!!

Then after all that I get a nose bleed which lasted for 12 hours and a lovely cold. So I am signed off sick from work. HAPPY DAYS!!

Thanks for listening if you are still awake after that epic story!

Like rainbow days our internet connection is at the flat so Friday will be my last day for posting as we officially have it rented out as of 12 noon Saturday so I will have to log on frmmy mobile and post short messages!!

The scan on Monday went well oscar is perfect and loves holding his toes above his head, we are both besotted with him and I cant watch a single baby programme without balling!! (especially Portland babies its when the baby gets put on mum that gets me every time) I just so wish he was here now and I could cuddle him. We really cannot wait!!! He does nice gentle kicks too unless he is listening to karaoke which I don?t think he likes to much as it made him kick like mad on holiday.

Well im going to go now sorry for waffling and being so self indulged!!!!

Take care all xxxxxxxx

honeyapple · 19/09/2007 19:36

Epic post iampg! Where did you go on holiday? Sounds truely awful . Ask me for advice next time you book a holiday! (Used to work in travel trade)

Fettle? Mr Fettle? Any news? I guess we might get a very late night post tonight from Mr Fettle... hope all going well and hopefully you are cuddling wee man as I type.

Greedy- my pains are def not just baby banging on my pelvis... they are so bad at times I have to stand still and do deep breathing exercises! Well, I guess it's giving me some practice for the BIG DAY! And yes, I am pooing myself (not literally at the moment fortunately).

iampgatlast · 19/09/2007 19:58

honey - we stayed at the Flamboyan hotel in magaluf booked through first choice.
Our next holiday i am booking a villa privately - never again am i doing a package deal but any advice on villas greatly received

still rooting for you fettle and mr fettle and mini fettle xxxxxxx

Bodkin · 19/09/2007 20:31

Phew - thank goodness I haven't missed any Fettle action! Hope all is well and Fettle junior is snuggled up on his mummy as i type

Iampg - sounds absolutely ghastly! Did you try using the old "don't you know I'm pregnant" to get a better room/food on plane?

Greedy - mmm chocolate [drool] just eaten my last 4 squares of Galaxy left over from last night's bar (full size of course)

Am having a serious rethink about Tony from Skins. He looked a right twat last night...

Bodkin · 19/09/2007 20:32

Oh yeah, and DP was watching it with me and he says "that bloke looks a bit like a male version of you" Now, what do you lot reckon, honestly?

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/09/2007 22:14

bodders - i just relooked at your photos on your profile and i am sorry, but i don't fancy you and i still fancy the bloke from skins! so you cant look like him!!!

iampg - WOW! what a holiday! at least they can only get better from now on!!!

honeyapple - dont mention pooing yourself!!!!.......just think fettle could be pooing herself RIGHT NOW as i type this!!!!! i have told dh to stay up the head end this time round cos of the whole pooing business! not sure why really cos i never cared i the past, but this time i do for some reason!!! i will prob change my mind when it all kicks off!!! are you all set for your homebirth then? i have got an antenatal appt this fri which is my first one for over 3 weeks! cant help feeling neglected this time!!!!

kitkat - i don't think you are supposed to diet until your baby is at least 6 months old, i know i wont be!!!! you eat as much chocolate as you can!!!

not sure how much longer i can stay awake to keep checking for news from mr. fettle

greedygreedyguzzler · 19/09/2007 22:27

ok! i am giving in and going to bed!!!!

LISTEN UP MR. FETTLE!!!! if you are sitting on your arse at home drinking beer and toasting your new son and forgetting all about us lovely ladies on MN then we will NOT be impressed!!! hope all is ok and give fettle hugs from us!
