seaside72 on Thu 24-May-07 16:18:25
predictions - arghh - I have no idea - if we get there I am sure I will be late - 24 January is my prediction
weight ??
sex - would be lying if I did not say girl - but thats more about preconceptions and imagining rather than what I actually feel - Chinese cal says girl but realstically I think prob boy - my DH is convinced it's a boy already!

honeyapple on Fri 25-May-07 08:29:20

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
greedygreedyguzzler · 16/09/2007 22:28

well, guess what ladies, the weekend is nearly over and our house is still nowhere near finished!!!.....why did i believe dh when he said it would be finished by tonight hey?!!! i should know him well enough by now not to believe what he tells me!!! had a bit of a crap weekend actually! in laws are staying and MIL is in a wheelchair cos she broke her ankle 1 1/2 yrs ago!!! so is basically a pain in the arse who needs looking after and constant cups of tea and small children kept away from her precious foot! ( sorry, but i have really run out of sympathy for her and now just get annoyed with her!!!) anyway, they are leaving on tue morning ( or should i say 'fettle induction day!') so i am going to chill out once they have gone and relax!!!

dd hasn't been well this weekend either. she woke up about a million times last night saying she was cold but she was burning up cos she has a temperature (actually 4 times, but that was enough!!!) and so went to bed at 5.45pm tonight. (her, not me!!) hopefully (please please) she will sleep better tonight so i get more sleep too! i know that sounds selfish but what an inconsiderate time to get ill hey? doesn't she know i need my rest!!???

hope you have all had better weekends than me anyway!

fettle - i am so jealous that you are going to be induced on tue! one of my friends was induced both times with her 2 and it took ages first time, but second time it was really quick for her. i am sure it will be the same for you!!! i am going to try and get my dh to post on here for me too when i do eventually go into labour!!!
i can't imagine how it feels to KNOW when you are going into hospital to have your baby! it seems so weird to me! willl you be able to sleep on mon night??? OMG i am soooooooooooo excited and sooooooooooo jealous!!!!!
my MIL keeps saying to me " if you could just have your baby this weekend that would be great and then we wont have to make another trip down in a few weeks time!" i know (at least, i THINK) she is joking.........but i feel like saying "you don't HAVE to come down and visit when i have the baby......you should be coming down cos you WANT to!!!" sorry, i am miserable AGAIN tonight!!!!

chooster - i LOVE the fact you came on MN in the middle of a row with dh!!! how funny!!! and you REALLY do love your pushchair don't you!!!???

Mrs - i think its lovely you are having a 'surprise' baby! we did first time too and it was really nice!!! i read the GF book too and would tend to agree with what the others have said, some bits are good and some bits seem over the top! the best thing i read in there was that babies normally get tired after being awake for 2 hours and are normally ready for another sleep by then. it always applied to my two and if i didnt't let them sleep they got really overtired and grumpy.

i ordered my first ever item from Boden today!!!! are their sizes generous or not? if not i am buggered cos i have ordered a dress in my normal size to wear on oct 20th, which knowing my luck will prob end up being only a week after i give birth!!!

firsty - another lovely message from you..................i think your posts are up there with Mrs' for remembering everyone and saying lots of comforting things! Ty sounds so cute! when are you goign to put some pics of him on your profile hey? actually, when are you going to do a profile?

hello i willbe!!! nice to have you back! can't wait to hear why your holiday was so disasterous!! once you have recovered obviously!!

hiya bodders, seaside, honeyapple babymad, kitkat and anyone else i have forgotten!!

Bodkin · 17/09/2007 10:26

Hi all.

Gosh, so much to say, so little time!

Firstly - GOOD LUCK tomorrow Fettle - hope things happen quickly for you, although i like the idea of bringing scrabble to while away the hours! Hope the itching is over with soon - sounds unbearable poor you. You're right, I did post after my waters broke, but I had sent DP to somerfield to get some "labour snacks" a useful diversion so I could let you know what was happening. I don't know why I haven't told him really, except that he'd REALLY take the piss, and I couldn't face it when I was hormonal and preggers. Now it's gone on so long it would seem weird telling him. I hate being sneaky though, I am normally ridiculously honest about everything.

Greedy - pmsl at your MIL foot! sounds like you had a hectic weekend. hOpe you get a bit of free time now you've stopped work before your bubba arrives! Hope your DD is feeling better today. Which dress have you ordered? I'm sure you'll look gorge.

Mrs - I didn't buy the buggerboo, was given it by a friend who's gone to Oz for a year. It's a couple of years old (a Frog) Good points and bad points really. I think I'll get on with it better without the carry cot TBH - Isla doesn't really sleep very well in it (wakes up about 10 mins after I've stopped moving it) and you can't get into the shopping basket underneath with it on, so have to hang bags off the handle, which is a bit of a pain. Those big back wheels get in the way a bit as well. And don't get me started about getting it in the car! I have to say I think Chooster has got a good'un with the Cherry there - would try and track one down and have a go on it. It looks quite similar to the Bugger, but lighter and more compact. HTH

Firsty - good to hear from you - I second Greedy's request for a pic of Ty! I know what you mean about steering clear of july thread - sometimes it helps to know others are having a hard time too, but sometimes it makes you feel crap when others have got there LOs in bed of an eveing and are sleeping through! I did see a post from Chubby Scots Burd though on the sleep topics - sounds like she is having an absolute nightmare poor thing.

Iampg - sorry I missed you off the list! was only a quickie that I did. Tell us all about your horrid hol when you feel up to it!

Chooster

Bodkin · 17/09/2007 10:48

sorry where was i?

Chooster - hope youtr row with dh has blown over by now! havent read the baby whisperer, but hear its quuite good. the only routine i am in is feed every 3 hoursish - one side, then let her have 10-20 mins kick about with nappy off, new nappy on then feed other side. seems to be working for us, in the daytime at any rate, evenuings a different story .

its no good, shes howling like a good un, laters peeps xxx

fettleandminifettle · 17/09/2007 11:29

Hi all

This is my last free morning, with DD at school and this little one still inside me - quite a wierd feeling, but going with the head in the sand!! When I leave the house tom at 730am, that's when the butterflies will set in!!! Now worried having not had all the tests, how I will cope if there is anything wrong with this little one, but I'm being silly aren't I - you cope with whatever life gives you.

Anyway, have to quickly tell you about the real "you only read about these in books" coffee morning I've just been too, with some of the parents at the school DDs started. Now I know it was my choice to send her to private school - but I have really just met someone who's name is actually Kitkat!! [OMG, it might actually be our Kitkat - although I kind of assumed that was just your on-line nickname!!). Very nice and friendly!! Someone else who chose a worse hospital over the one I'm having this little one in, as Bath would look better on his birth certificate than Swindon!!! Now, I know that DH and I joked about that, but to actually do it. Having said all that - they were all lovely and full of really helpful advice for tomorrow (all have at least 3 little darlings already!!!) It was also really nice to meet some more local people having just moved to the area as well - so hopefully I won't be as lonely this time around than I was after having DD when we lived in deepest darkest Northumberland!

Anyway....

Greedy - sorry I too PMSL about your mother-in-law!! I know I'm very lucky with mine, but shame on you being inconsiderate and not having your baby to her timetable!!!. Sorry to hear your house is not ready - it will be. Just remember as soon as it is then youwill relax and little Marcy will make her appearance!!! Thanks for the reassurance about your friend - I so hope that they manage to break my waters more easily - have to say that's the part I'm dreading most!!! Contractions - pah!! Easy!. Crotchet hook inside to break waters -aarrrrggghhhh pain !

Bodders - DH does take the piss as well, but I think he's realising that you also get some good advice from lovely people on here too! He's been reading all the pram threads - although it is too late for us now - all ordered and on it's way!! Glad to hear you are in some routine with Isla - can't believe how time has flown since you and Chooster had your little ones!

Mrs - hope you solve your pram dilemma - it is tricky. Would recommend looking at the ?I-candy apple - only reason we didn't go with it, is that it is as heavy as the one we alredy had and that seemed bit pointless for us really. Just hoping I can do that clip up, as the lady in the shop was telling us stories of it automaticlly opening up in the boot of people's cars as they hadn't done the clip up properly!!!

Chooster- hope all ok with DH now? I hate the fact that me and DH are bickering more often than normal at the moment, and can only assume it will get worse(for us, not you!!) before it gets better as the sleep deprivation sets in for proper!!!

Firsty - so good to hear from you. Greedy is right you are good at remembering everything about everybody!! Glad to hear all well you and little big Ty!! How are the DSDs?

Iampg - hope you have recovered from your holiday - what on earth went wrong?! Hope scan today good.

Honey - how you doing? You've been quiet - off having your baby on the sly are you?!!!

Hello everyone else, I know i've forgotten - off to put my feet up and watch an episode of Brothers & Sisters for my last hour alone!!!

xxx

MrsMcJnr · 17/09/2007 12:23

Hello!

Fettle ? if you can?t lock it, you could still fold it and carry it from the side (lady in shop suggested that). at automatic opening of the buggy though! Bet you come on here and tease me next week because you find it so easy though! let me know how you get on with it! Good idea about the scrabble! Maybe I should add Trivial Pursuit to my hospital bag list! thanks for your thoughts on ?that book? my sis and cousin have said similar things to you. One more sleep! He will be perfect you know, I have butterflies for you! LOL at the coffee morning ? I do actually know a few KitKats from Uni days

Chooster that?s good to know about the iCandy seat reclining fully. Ohh yes, please could I borrow your copies of those books? Only if you don?t need them for a few weeks though. Hope the row is now mended

Firsty lovely long post from you! Thanks for all your wise words, the bruising can be sore from the jags and looks ugly but I have been lucky, the sites have only bled a couple of times. Sounds like Ty is doing great what buggy did you get in the end?

Greedy ? hello! can empathise on having the PIL to stay but it must be so hard having to wait hand and foot on MIL , especially when that is what you need right now! Sorry to hear about the house, disspaointed for you! Hope DD (and consequently you) slept better last night. I think Boden sizes are about average Greedy, not like some shops that are way off! Which dress did you go for? Thanks for the book comments

One of my friends is due today! this is the one I worry about choosing one of our names!! I think she?s going to have a little girl she has a DD of 2 already.

Read the chapter in my babyproofing book last night about in laws! It said that DH?s family are his concern and yours are up to you ? fair enough. It was basically saying that one?s own family will forgive most things but in laws may not so if I am feeling aggrieved, it is for DH to sort that with his parents and even pretend that he is the aggireved one so I don?t look bad ? can?t see it somehow DH and I were on a walk yesterday and I asked what order and how he?d let people know when the baby arrived ? we had a laugh about it brcause he rightly said that there?d be no point calling my folks between the hours of 10pm and 7am or else they?ll ask him to call back when they are awake! I told him that I don?t want him to tell anyone (apart from you Chooster and the MN ladies!) when I am in labour (especially not his folks, I don?t want them pitching up at the hospital on day 1 ? is that bad of me?!)

Bodkin ? LOL at your Somerfield decoy! Thanks for the Frog chat, I?ve heard that said about the bag underneath when in cot mode, you can buy special bag handles apparently. Oh dear, it?s hard to get in the car? I thought it would be the easiest with its weight and dimensions.

BabyMadandBIGbump · 17/09/2007 13:50

Hi ladies so sorry I haven't been on in weeks I'm just so busy I don't seem to have 5 mins to myself at the moment, I seem to start something but never get the chance to finish it till it really needs doing even if I'm sleeping on my feet, endless washing, cleaning, ironing, feeding, changing, school runs, cooking and pack lunches never ends. I'm still bleeding since the birth which is getting me down, also getting loads of backache but I'll have my 6 week post check up this week so I'll mention that to the doc. I've been sleeping (if you can call it that) on the settee down stairs ever since Connie was born DH and I haven't slept in the same bed yet , also fighting demons at the moment nothing to do with Connie or my other DC but demons none the less! Connie is great (feel like she been with me my whole life) and my DS's are besotted with her (so am I) they love to play and talk to her all the time, She's still feeding every 3 hours 5oz (even at night) we had to up her milk to thicker milk, because she began to feed every 2 hours 6oz's but she gone back to 5oz every 3 hours now, she was weighted last week, 12lb now, fat little thing . She also trying to roll over already we've told her to slow down LOL, we've had to get her some toys already, bless. It seems my mother and I on kinda back on track which also brings it's own demons but I'll get there! How is everyone? How is everyone getting on with babies/bump's? What have you all been upto the last 2 weeks? Sorry really unable to catch up, sorry I'm missed such alot ! I'll get round to changing my name one day......................................Got to go Connie's complaining again I think she wants her mummy !

Hey Babymad so lovely to hear from you, sorry to hear things are tough, I am sure you are doing an amazing job you take care now x

KitKat30 · 17/09/2007 15:25

Just popping on v quickly to say a HUGE GOOD LUCK to Fettle. Good luck honey - thinking of you!! (And OMG - kitkat is so not my real name!!! More a fervent hope that they start making human sized Kit Kats...)

Hello to everyone else!

Incidentally - just to add to the pram debate... have you all seen the new Bugaboo Bee? Looks pretty nifty to me - dont know if it;s out in the UK yet though.... am hoping for a Christmas present!!!

More later - hope you;re all OK

kitkat xxx

honeyapple · 17/09/2007 19:19

Hi all!

Sorry for not posting for a while, but been busy and not had anything very interesting to report!! (I have been checking up on you all though ).

Fettle GOOD LUCK for tommorrow... I guess you might not read this until you actually have your little boy with you... but just wanted to say that will be thinking of you and hope everything goes quickly and smoothly. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Mrs- re buggerboos ... my neighbour has one and seems to have stopped using it, in preference for a little maclaren buggy. Her DS is just over 1 yrs old. So, not sure how much use they would give in the long term. Also I see her faffing about with it trying to get it in the car! I think you'd need a pretty big boot to make it easier.

I have never read any baby manual books like the GF one. I had what to expect in the first year book which was a good all rounder.
I am sure that strict routines do work, but I don't think I could ever stick to one... I like to be able to grab baby and go! Not worry about whether it has had a sleep/feed etc... it can sleep in the car or buggy and I can feed it wherever (joy of BF!)

Having more horrid pelvic pain seems to be worse in the evening.

Good to hear from everyone, and you Babymad .

Better go put DD to bed

x

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/09/2007 20:19

had to come on here relatively early tonight so i get a chance to post for fettle before her big day!!

had a lovely day today!!! dd is still not 100% well and so wasn't very happy when i took her to preschool. i didnt want to keep her off though cos i want her to have as many sessions as possible to settle her in before new baby arrives. she was great when i picked her up though and she had had lots of fun! ds was really unsettled and teary at karate too! only his third time and he is still a bit unsure about all the shouting!!!!! then we all went for a nice(ish) pub dinner (minus the in laws!!!). anyway, generally a much more chilled and better day than yesterday!!!

bodders - what do you do then about coming on MN? do you tell your dp that you are surfing the internet or do you do it while he is at work or while he is having a poo? HOW do you manage to post in secret?!!! i am awe!! i have ordered a brown spotty summery number from boden in the sale!!! i am very excited about it arriving................and i KNOW (cos i am a divvy!) that i will be trying it on as soon as it arrives even though it wont go near me cos i will be 39 wks pg!!!

mrs - you will prob find that you change your mind completely about telling parents / in laws about going into labour! i was SO excited i told EVERYONE and couldn't wait to show my new baby off to everyone even though i was knackered!!!

kitkat!!!!! - you are such a MUMMY!!!!! fancy wanting a new pushchair for xmas!!!!! i will be wanting mostly wine, beer, chocolates and clothes!!!!

babymad - good to hear from you, we were all getting worried! i am sure things will settle down soon! how come you get the sofa and dh gets the bed? wrong way round surely!!!

honeyapple - is it just me or are you getting ever so slighjtly terrified at the thought of having 3 kids to juggle!!!??? i saw someone today who has just had no. 3 and i (stupidly) asked her what it was like having 3...............she said........... "absolute CHAOS!!!!" and her other 2 are both about a year older than my other 2. i am getting scared!!!

fettle - i have saved you for last!!! - i can't believe you are so chilled out!!! i got goose bumps AND butterflies just reading your post about leaving the house tom morning!!!!
i live in sawbridgeworth (which is quite posh, home of the beckhams and EVERYTHING!!) and most people from here would rather travel for 40 mins to have their babies in cambridge than go to the local hospital in Harlow which is only 5 mins away because they dont want Harlow on the birth certificate!!!!!!!!! i have to say it has never bothered me or dh using the local chav hospital...............only thing that gets to me is when i have been for scans and there are about twenty heavily pregnant 15 yr old girls outside the labour ward smoking fags!!!
and, yuk to the crochet hook! my dd came out in the amniotic sac ( have i mentioned that before?) but i never got to see her like that!! good job really think it might have freaked me out a bit!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/09/2007 20:23

fettle - half my message to you got lost somehow in my cutting and pasting!!! i had also rambled on a bit about how everything will be fine for you and how perfect your little toby will be! and i still cant quite belive that you are going to get to meet him so soon!!!! i am so glad it is a tue you are going in cos my mum is round on tuesdays and it means i can keep popping on MN to check for any news!!!!! GOOD LUCK FETTLE PETAL!!!!! i REALLY REALLY can't wait to hear from you!!!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

fettleandminifettle · 17/09/2007 20:40

You're all making me cry!! you really all are such lovely people!! i know we've never met each other, but I don't think I would have enjoyed this pregnancy anywhere near as much without you all from the TTC days til tonight!!

am a bit more scared now, but there's no going back now - it got in there, so it has to come out - that's only logic really isn't it?! [not really considering he is considerably bigger than when he went in!!!]

I will get DH to post as soon as he can, but depending on how things go, I doubt I'll be in proper labour until later on tomorrow, so you may not hear until Wednesday.

Mrs - could you let the mc thread know any news, as I don't know how long I'll be in afterwards - hopefully not as long as I was after DD. Also could you post on the temping buddies thread, so Ready and Rah know any news.

Feels very weird - I've had people phoning and texting all day to wish me luck - not like this with a normal labour is it - does that make me special?!! Certainly makes me feel that everyone is expecting something from me tomorrow - hope we manage to perform to plan!!.

Shit, I don't want that crochet hook up me - I'm going to post the picture of the one from DD's labour just so you can sympathise with me!!!

take care all
xxx

BTW Greedy - think you've bought the same dress as me and yes I did try it on last night and no it didn't fit. Did I cry? yes!!!!. Still can't believe that we are not connected in some way - we are so similar!!!
Couldn't even attempt to get it over my boobs - going to ask DH to get the larger size, as I want to wear it sooner rather than later as it is lovely!! Was being very ambitious getting it in a size 14 - but then it was a size 14 evening dress from Boden that I wore at my black tie dinner, but that was back in July I suppose!!

xxx

fettleandminifettle · 17/09/2007 20:41

Mrs - mean the temping buddies graduate thread - never feel very right posting on the actual conception thread.

thank you
xxx

seaside72 · 17/09/2007 20:41

I have been madly trying to skim all I have missed from last week and suddenly realised I must quickly post happy/lucky/painfree/speedy vibes to fettle for tomorrow - amazing So excited for you and cant wait to hear all about it. Will be thinking of you hon- and your DH and DD - and sending you loads of love. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Lots of love to everyone else to - I will try and catch up better with everyone over the next few days. All is well with me and bump - which is definitely kicking now - if sporadically - it is so weird - I watch my belly every night (saddo! ) and now I am seeing some of the more violent jerks as well!!

MrsMc - I am so with you on the whole bugaboo dilemma - one of my v good friends has one and loves it? All I know is I def want a buggy with carrycot option.

LOL about mummy xmas presents greedy! - I am asking for a new tumble dryer and maybe some curtains!!!! (saddo x 2!!)

laters all xxxx

Ohhhh - fettle - I am emitting excited squealing in my head!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Chooster · 17/09/2007 21:26

GOOD LUCK FETTLE!!!! Wish all the luck for tomorrow - will be very excietd for you. I think its perfectly natural to feel anxious but it'll be fine! We'll all be thinking of you. Can't wait to hear the news. . Aaaah, so you are another Brothers and Sisters watcher are you. I record it every Wed and catch up on it when feeding . Its a bit cheesy isn't it . Rob Lowe is looking pretty good these days isn't he?

Great to hear from you Firsty!! Great news that Ty is doing well. Theo is also in 3 to 6 month vests and sleepsuits. I think he must have a long body as the 0-3 vests just don't fit . How long was Ty when born? Theo was 56cm which is at the top of the scale. Good luck for when Ty has his jabs - I'm sure he'll be fine even if he does grumble a bit.

So sorry to hear you are struggling a bit Babymad - I really hope you are doing OK and that things look brighter soon. Great news that Connie is doing well - she's a nice weight!

Hey Bodkin - Your routine sounds pretty good. I pretty mcuh feed Theo every 3 hours during the day but more often in the evening. There is still no real pattern to his wakeful times... Sometimes he's awake for 5 or 6 hours at a time during the day.

Of course you can borrow the books MrsMC. I'll bring them next time I see you. I've got others too!! Was a bit of a baby book hoarder when having DS1 . Good to hear the buggy debate is rumbing on And yes I do LOVE mine Greedy - can you tell . Grrrr at the in-laws!!! Man, you've got a lot on your plate at the moment Greeds? Is that you finished work now?

Hi Kitkat and everyone else !!!

All good here... Swimming again tomorrow with Theo... And yes the row is over - we're both just tired I guess. I bought DH a choc eclair as a peace offering

Chooster · 17/09/2007 21:55

Hi Seaside as well!! I didn't see you post - I had MN up for ages before I atually got round to replying so missed loads of messages. Glad DD is a little better Greedy! Good luck again fettle xx

Rainbowdays · 18/09/2007 10:11

Fettle - I Just mananged to get back here in time to wish you all the best today, I hope things are progressing smoothly and wonderfully. Hugs to you on this special day.

Hi to everyone else, sorry I have not got the time to post longer,,,

Bodkin · 18/09/2007 10:34

Now your post has made me cry Fettle! Like you say, it must be lovely getting all the phone calls and well-wishing before the baby is born! Don't worry about that crochet hook - when I had mine done with DD1 it was such a relief to get the waters broken as it was really slowing things down. As soon as they were popped she shot out Can't wait to hear your news!

Mrs - reading your debate about prams, i'm thinking maybe I ought to actually read (well, find at least) the instructions for the Frog, maybe I'm doing something wrong with collapsing it to get it in the car.

Greedy - I know, i'm a devious devil about being on here! DP is self employed and works just down the road, so occasionally pops back for a bacon sarnie unnannounced, so as soon as I hear the door go, if I'm mid-post I just send it asap - have you not noticed I cut short sometimes Then quite often he works in the evenings too, or is in the pub watching footie, so I can post at leisure [guilty emoticon] PMSL at you trying on your dress at 39 weeks preggers!

Chooster - I am sooooo at Theo managing 5-6 hours awake in the day! Blimey! I wasn't joking when I said Isla struggles with an hour - which is basically the time it takes to feed and change her. I think the longest she can manage is 1.5 hours towards the end of the day before bedtime (yes, she has now done 3 bedtimes before 8pm in a row !!!!) Although when she was up in the evenings, I suppose she was doing 3-4 hours awake, so I am talking shite aren't I....

Hi Seaside - it's lovely doing "bumpwatch" of an evening or in the bath isn't it! I liked Babymad's tip of putting something on top of the bump (i.e. tv remote control - obv. not in the bath though!) and watching that get kicked off!

Can't believe all these Xmas gift suggestions - I'll be chuffed with a CD and a bottle of booze. I'm obviously not aiming high enough...

I spoke to my mum the other night, and she told me that my Dad was going to stay with her for a few days..... They've been divorced for nearly 30 years and haven't seen each other for about 10! WTF is going on there [slightly concerned my parents are getting back together again emoticon]

Hi Rainbow days - I just missed your post. Hope all is well with you

MrsMcJnr · 18/09/2007 10:36

Ohh so excited for you Fettle can?t wait to hear from Mr Fettle! Your post made me cry Fettle ? these pregnancies we are having are so special aren?t they? Promise to keep the MC thread & temping buddies graduate thread up to date for you LOL at the dress!

KitKat lovely to hear from you, hope all is well, human sized kitkats would be fab but they?d have to be chunky! I?ve heard the Bugaboo Bee is not suitable for newborns (phew! Not another to consider!) Another Mumsnetter recommended this one www.firstwheels.nl/en/city_elite/ so DH has found a stockist and we?ll look at that along with the ICandies and the Janes on Saturday!

Honeyapple thanks for the feedback on the bugger-so-bloody-expensive-boo it does seem that whatever you buy and need when they are little, you cannot beat a light, cheap Maclaren later on that you don?t mind getting battered about on airlines etc. I?m surprised that your neighbour finds it hard to collapse and the dimensions are pretty small compared to most of the others ? I guess it?s horses for courses ? look at me and the Quinny thanks for your thoughts on the baby books, hope those pains are better today

Greedy sounds like a nice day! LOL step away from the dress until that baby arrives!! I think the labour secret thing comes from my Mum and my Gran telling the world and his wife how many cms dilated my sis was the first time round ? really, maybe I am being silly but I think that is really personal and I don?t want my Dad or FIL or anyone in fact to know anything about my fanny! (you guys are different!) I remember that my grandparents were staying with me when sis had DS2 and we were talking to her on Skype and looking at the baby and Gran asked in front of all the assembled men if she was terribly torn! I just don?t want people to know those things!! Bet the family start surveillance on where we are at all times though ? grrrr! That said MIL hasn?t phoned me for a week, maybe she?s got the message that I need some space. Wow, that?s funny about DD coming out in the sac, never heard of that but hey after reading some birth stuff last night, I clearly know nothing and am getting very scared?

Bloody colleague is absolutely choked with the cold and is sitting so near me I can almost feel the germs coming over, I so wish he?d go home and leave me germ free!

Seaside so glad all is well ? I too am belly watching for alien hands and feet but have not seen any yet! That?s me too ? I want a carrycot and am not looking at any that don?t have one. DH has made a technical spreadsheet of weights, dimensions etc of various ?contenders? happy to share if you?d be interested. I?ve asked for a camcorder for Christmas & B?day from my folks as defo want one for LO, my folks have so many cine films of us as babies and they are soooo cool!

Chooster ? Must watch this Brothers and Sisters if its got Rob Lowe in it! He?s a bit short and thin for me but he?s up there as my 80s icon ? DH and I have planned my ?in early stages of labour? film viewing: St Elmos Fire, followed by Breakfast Club followed by my favourite About Last Night (obsessing about the soundtrack at the mo, poor Beanie!) so let?s see, that?s about 6 hours, I might be ready to consider getting dressed for the hospital by then mightn?t I or do I need more films?! This is of course if I go into labour in the daytime, if its night I?ll of course sleep all the way through the early hours (yeah right!) I know what my DH would be looking for as a peace offering

Firsty - you have put me to shame! I didn't even say hello to Kitkat or Babymad in my last post. Sooooo sorry guys! It's just cos sometimes I read but don't have time to post and by the time I do get round to posting I have forgotton everything!

Anyway - babymad - Connie sounds like she's doing well. Well done - especially with 2 others to look after, must be really hectic!

Kitkat - how's things for you?

Chooster - just re-read my last post - sorry, I sound a bit snotty about Theo being awake so long - didn't mean to! I wish Isla would manage a bit longer without getting crotchety, I never get out the house!

Afternoon Ladies!

Wow two days running!

Good luck Fettle thinking of you!

The reason I'm on the settee is because DH works 8-5 in the day so he need his sleep, and Connie isn't the easiest of babies to get to sleep and she wakes all night long, she wakes for a feed every 3 hours and takes an hour to feed, change and settle back down (if I'm lucky) so I tends to be up and down all night, I just see it this way, why keep 3 awake (DH and 2DS's) when I can stay downstairs and deal with her without waking and keeping everyone else up, IYSWIM, I'm not getting any sleep in the day (theirs not enough hours in the day ) at the moment which is a pain, last night she finally went to sleep at 2 after her 1am feed but woke again at 4am went back down alittle after 5 but was wide awake again at 6am stayed awake till just after her feed at 7am but by then it was time to get DS's up and ready for school. Connie is now in 3-6 months clothes and she only six weeks today, she seems to be following her brothers' (DS#2) boots, as they even match weight for weight at this week and that week IYSWIM which is scary, she's like his twin but 5 yrs later LOL!

Got to go Connie crying AGAIN, LOL
