PREDICTIONS

BabyMadwithBump on Thu 24-May-07 14:57:52
I've been dreaming of a baby girl, 9lb 2oz, on the 27 July with dark black hair, but I predict a baby boy, 8lb 1oz, also 27 July, with very light hair! We'll see!

Chooster on Thu 24-May-07 15:08:03
Oh, predictions!!!!
For me, I reckon boy (guess that's in the bag), 23rd July, 8lbs 2oz

MrsMcJnr on Thu 24-May-07 15:22:29
I'll be brave and have faith and predict for me:
Boy, 6lbs 10oz, 13/1 (11/07/07 I?ve changed my mind about my bean ? think it?s a she)

KitKat30 on Thu 24-May-07 15:26:29

firststar on Thu 24-May-07 15:47:32
Hi ladies
first of all let me get business out of the way....predictions...for me a boy 7lb 2oz (going against all my big baby comments) 22nd July (early I think) , upping the weight prediction of mine to 8lb 6oz.

seaside72 on Thu 24-May-07 16:18:25
predictions - arghh - I have no idea - if we get there I am sure I will be late - 24 January is my prediction
weight ??
sex - would be lying if I did not say girl - but thats more about preconceptions and imagining rather than what I actually feel - Chinese cal says girl but realstically I think prob boy - my DH is convinced it's a boy already!

honeyapple on Fri 25-May-07 08:29:20
I predict to be late... as was VERRY late with DD... also predict baby to be a bit bigger... 7 lb 10 maybe?

fettleandminifettle on 11/07/07 25th September, 8lbs exactly!

Morning,

Still no word from Chooster?
Hope all is fine and dandy. I guess that posting on MN might not be the most important thing to do after you have just given birth...

Bodders- great description of your hooters... cor I thought I had gone to bed as normal and woken up as Pamela Anderson, hurts doesnt it. Isla sounds delicious.

Babymad- hope you enjoyed your evening again with DH... Best to get some in now! Mind you me and DP had sex 2 wks after DD was born... not sure we'll be matching that this time around! Is that ball thing a good idea? Would you recommend?

Love to everyone else, have good weekends x

fettleandminifettle · 14/07/2007 09:34

Just checking in for baby-chooster news! Hope all has gone well for them. but you're right, I would imagine we're far down their list of priorities shortly after birth!!

Bodders - totally forgotten the pain of boobs!!! I just remember looking in the mirror and putting my hands over my boobs and they looked like child hands! boobs were huge - Dolly Parton would have been proud!!!

can't wait to have those tiny newborn moments too! Glad you sounding so well.

Hello everyone else - off our kitchen shopping and then taking old cupboards of the walls inthe new house in preparation. I would say we're mad thinking of doing this in 4 weeks before we move, bearing in mind Baby is due 6 weeks after we move, but as Bodders seemed to time it just right, i'm sure we will too!!!!

take care all - have great weekends.

greedygreedyguzzler · 14/07/2007 10:01

chooster????

i am not scared about the boob pain, just the afterpains. did you get them bodders? i remember last time everytime i breastfed it was like having another contraction and i gushed with blood!!!!! LOVELY!!!! apparently they get worse every time (hardly got them at all with ds), so i am a bit nervous about that!!!

well, i have got a really 'funny' feeling down below this morning.......i am thinking maybe it is the beginnings of the dreaded VVVs! i am a bit too scared to look!.....so bodders, chooster, i may be coming to you for advice soon!

fettlepetal - i really hope your building work gets finished in time! if we are truly linked, then it means if yours doesnt get doen neither will mine!!!......everytime i talk to our builders i stick my bump out and rub my back so they realise just how little time they have left to finish!!! you will have to do the same!!!

honeyapple · 14/07/2007 10:07

greedy- after pains were horrid with DD... but it is good- means your womb is contracting back into pre-pg state... I managed with paracetamol and gritting of teeth! I guess it will be worse this time around... trying not to think of that... thanks for bringing it up!

greedygreedyguzzler · 14/07/2007 11:15

s'ok honey! don't mention it!!! i have been panicking completely the last few days as to how the fuck i am going to cope with 3 of them and how i am going to manage to get them all to nursery to drop my ds off at 9am!!! one of my freinds who has a 4yr old, a 2yr old and a 7 month old has to get up at 6.15 to get herself showered and dressed, then get the baby up at 6.45 to start feeding her and then get the other 2 up at 7.30! i dont WANT to wake up at 6.15!!!!! HOW am i going to cope!!!!!????? i had such a crap day yesterday with ds being a pain in the arse that i really started to question what we are doing by having another baby!!! i guess the advantage of having a bigger age gap is that your two can sort themselves out in the morning!..........i can see every morning being a huge stress and me losing the plot completely!!!!!.................................have you had any stresses or worries like this?

also i remember with both my dc it used to take about 45mins to feed them in the first few weeks!!!! how can i fit that in in the mornings???

hi everyone!

sorry for abandoning you yesteday! yup firsty am on tv pc type machine next to my bed. v handy but dodgy keyboard!

our new little man arrived at 3.55pm after a lovely last stage and birth. that epidural was such a good call for me with the drips. anyway he popped out, 8lbs 1oz and is perfect! i had to go to theatre though due to placenta problems and bleeding. this has happened with every pregnancy so both dh and i have said never again . thank god for the epidural in place or i'd prob have needed a general . they manually removed all the bits but it was a fairly grim experience as was throwing up ang shaking so badly cos of drugs. i was in recovery at 6.30 but feel i missed the firs 2 hours of my little mans life! at least he had his daddy . i was too spaced out to update you girls! thanks for all your good wishes.

so we ended up contacting parents and inlaws at 7.30 once iwas out of recovery and evryone was emotional and upset that we hadnt been in touch earlier its not like we weren't pre-occupied. grrrrrr... parents eh! will update more later when at home

iwillbepgbydec2007 · 14/07/2007 18:14

Congratulations to the Chooster family . Glad to hear the pushing all went well, but sorry to hear you had a horrid time with placenta problems. You know, in a few months you will have forgotten all about it... and then you can think about no.3 !!!
Have you got a name yet?

Greedy- It is good that my two are older, but I still am dreading having to be ready to leave house at 08.30am for school. Dont think I'd be doing 6.15 though... maybe 7.15 . Routine, blasted routine that's the key! My DP works from home, so he is often around in the mornings, hoping I might be able to leave LO with him when I do the school run.

Hope you all have enjoyed some sunshine today... I've got a slightly burnt chest, DP going to rub something into it later .

fettleandminifettle · 14/07/2007 20:27

Hello all!!

Congratulations Chooster-family!! Glad he's arrived safely - sorry for the traumatic time though. Pah at the parents, they should be grateful you're both ok now, not annoyed that they had to wait a couple of extra hours to hear! So envious of another one of us, who has the birth out of the way!

Greedy - I'd heard the afterpains are worse the 2nd one. My friend warned me when I saw her last time. But Honey's right, at least it means your uterus is contracting back nicely.

We went down to the new house today - DH has taken the cupboards off the wall and taken out the in-built fridge/freezer and already the kitchen looks brighter and bigger. Just hope hte builder is true to his word and can do the wall in the next few weeks. Met most of our neighbours at a party next door this afternoon - all seem very nice so hopefully it will be ok when we move in with toddler and new born soon to arrive!

Glad you enjoyed the sun Honey - it's been ok here, but not greatly sunny.

take care all

Chooster hon congratulations! I hope you are ok. What a good weight he was but it must have been horrible going to theatre like that, I was really thinking about you. It sounds crazy when you think of what else goes on but throwing up is one of my biggest fears in labour, once I start, I can?t stop. You take great care hon. Text me if you are in much longer, I?ll come and visit xx

Firsty ? not sure about the pamper package (£200 ) and knowing my luck, I?d do it too early and be all stubbly for the birth

Greedy ? normal sized that?s good news Greedy. Those after pains sound nasty

Hey Fettle you and Bodders are scaring me with boob stories ? I didn?t think mine could get much bigger!

hello Babymad hey Honeyapple hello Iwillbe get that computer fixed!!

Bodkin ? happy days hon!

fettleandminifettle · 15/07/2007 08:28

MrsMc - believe me at 34/36 FF, I didn't think mine could get much bigger, but they did - surprised I didn't fall forwards whenever I was walking around!!! But they do go down to a relatively normal?! size after a couple of days, it just seems to be when your milk comes in at first, that they become incredible!!! Mine also looked like a motorway map with all the visible veins - very attractive!

Have a great Sunday everyone - hope you had a good night's rest Chooster and baby Chooster is a good sleeper!!

take care all

honeyapple · 15/07/2007 09:00

Morning!

Bodders- was just wondering what your cloak and dagger boys name was... do you mind sharing it now? (Still after some ideas! although we are 80% stuck on one name at the moment, despite my DS saying it was nerdy!)

Mrs- it's just when your milk comes in about 3 days after giving birth that your boobs look rather mad. I cant imagine how painful it would be if you werent going to BF... what do you do, just wait for it to go away?

Chooster- hope you are feeling well and have had an ok nights sleep. Are you still in hospital?

Hi to everyone else x

honeyapple · 15/07/2007 18:02

where are you all? Out enjoying yourselves?

I am knackered... DP working all this weekend, so I took DC swimming this morning and then we went to the park, got back 30 mins ago. Suddenly it's gone bloody boiling... had to sit in the shade whilst DC played in the sandpit. Just done their supper... and now feel exhausted... could quite easily go and get in bed. What am I going to be like in a few weeks time? Foolishly opened a packet of pringles earlier, and now I can't stop scoffing them. Just thinking that I dont drink a lot of milk... are you guys thinking about that sort of thing? How much milk is a PG lady supposed to drink? Just ate one of DD's yoghurts.

How are the babies in this heat? I expect it is just a freak day and will be raining tommorrow.

iwillbepgbydec2007 · 15/07/2007 18:41

Honey you know what they say about pringle once you pop you cant stop! Can some one add my prediction to the list please as i cant copy and paste on phone. 10 Feb baby girl 7 pounds 10. Honey i try and drink one glass of milk a day as i was told the baby takes a lot of calcium from mum to grow its bones. Hi to everyone else!

Oops sorry ladies. Bloody phone would not load but posted msg anyway

fettleandminifettle · 15/07/2007 18:54

Hi All

Honey - no wonder you're tired - you've had a busy day for a pg lady!!!! Whenever, I take DD swimming on my own, I'm shattered for the rest of the day! To go the park all day too - I'm in awe!!!

As for milk - I try and drink a glass of milk a day which is more than I would if wasn't pg, but don't worry about baby - he'll be getting enough. It's your bones which suffer! But that's one of the best things about breast-feeding - the only time in your adult life that you lay down calcium on your bones, to help prevent osteoporosis later!!!

It did suddenly get really hot this afternoon - but really muggy - no sun here. Need a good thunderstorm, but I don't suppose we need anymore rain!!

We had another rushed day buying stuff/looking at kitchens. Got a chest of drawers for the nursery, so that's one thing off the list and a new chair for DD's room, as the one in there is the best for breast-feeding in, so we'll move that into baby's room in the new house.

Starting to think why on earth we decided to put a new kitchen in 4 weeks before we move!! Think we are going to need a new floor as well, so think we are going to get builder to knock wall down and then live with kitchen as is and once settled do it around us - it's the wall which will cause the most dust and upset, so best if we not living there at the time. Surely putting a kitchen in can't take that long, particularly as we are not moving cooker, hob, extractor, dishwasher or plumbing for sink and washing-machine - just fitting new cupboards about it all!

Anyway, I'm getting a bit boring about my kitchen I think - at least it's not work, giving me something else to worry about - at least i'm not thinking about the birth yet - 11 weeks, still to worry about that!!

Going to put my feet up - got another 2 new starters tomorrow!! Nearly there now! that will be 6 in place, with 1 coming at the end of the month and 2 still to recruit! Then I go on maternity leave!

take care all

First chance I've had to log on... Chooster congratulations hon!!! Don't worry about annoying parents - I mean honestly, did they really expect you to give them a quick call whilst in theatre!?!? Ignore them and focus on your lovely new bundle...Have you chosen a name yet??

MrsMcJ - i'm with you on the 'how much bigger can my boobs get?!?' Mine are enormous already!!!

Fettle - I@m taking your word for it that they go back down... they do don't they...???

Hi Greedy and honeyapple - have to say you two are scaring me slightly with all this talk of afterpains. Are they really bad? How are your norks doing Bodders?? Slightly less square I hope...

Firsty - not long to go now hon. Are you feeling prepared and ready?! If such a thing is possible... This is your first baby as well isnt it?? How many of us are 1st timers??? Firsty, Me, MrsMcJ... anyone else?

Morning to everyone - hope you're all OK today? I'm feeling really down for some reason - think it's the hormones. Had a really shit day at work on Friday and ended up sobbing for a good hour. Thought I'd got it all out of my system, but I'm so depressed to be back at my desk today... Keep telling myself that I've only got a couple of weeks left but it doesnt seem to be helping! I'll snap out of it soon... doesn't help that DH is being an arse, and has been an arse all weekend... why do they insist on doing that?!?!

xx
