Sorry, me again - should have read that through. It's my Mum I couldn't have done without this morning, but need this evening, not DD, in case anyone is concerned!!!

Have had a really long, stressful tiring day - roll on mat leave on 4 weeks and 4 days to go!!!!

xxx

iampgatlast · 30/07/2007 20:44

hi ladies

thankyou for all of your opinions and help its greatly received. sorry its been a bit me me me today just i think i have bored my friends to tears with it so much their response is "your better off without him" which i know is not good advice at this point in time.

mrsmcjnr - very of your cuddles with theo!!

fettle - you do sounds tired tonight getting muddledin your posts - makes me laugh tho

firsty and babymad - sending you my wishes for tonight - just incase - ya know

i go back to work tomorrow after 10 blissful sleepy days off but hey only 4 months til maternity leave

greedygreedyguzzler · 30/07/2007 20:45

fettle - your posts are getting like mine!!!.....a bit stilted and bitty and full of mistakes!!!......sort it out please girl!!!

thanks for your understanding on the mum front! i have actually missed mine a bit today!!!....we are back home till wednesday when my FIL is coming to stay to help (!!??) with the extension and then we will move back into my mums for a while longer. we took my mum and dad out for a lovely lunch yesterday to say thankyou and gave them stacks of cash for food etc, so i dont think they mind us staying too much.

firsty - now i feel bad for making you feel bad!!!! sorry!!!! not long now till you get your ickle baby, whatever happens!!!

iampg.....you are iwillbe aren't you? i'm not being really dense am i?? personally i hate any flirting with other women, but my dh would never be daft enough to do it while i was there cos he knows i would go APESHIT!!! i am the jealous bitch from hell though and he knows that now!!!! took him a while to get used to my jealous ways though and we had tons of arguements when we first got together. if you are normally chilled out about that sort of thing then you just need to explain to him that you are just a bit more sensitive when pg and you need more love and attention, not less. hope you sort it out soon.

also, i think EVERYTHING seems a much bigger deal when you are pg and you suddenly realise that there is a baby involved too. my dh and i had the biggest row EVER when i was pg first time cos he lied to me about something (something really trivial, but not the point!!) and all i could think was........"if he can lie to me then how can i ever trust him and if i can't trust him how can we ever be a good mummy and daddy!......sounds daft i know, but i found that first time i was pg, every little thing he did i managed to turn around to reflect on what sort of father he was going to make!...............needless to say, he is a FAB daddy and all my worries were daft!!

mrs - i never got the email cos i am not a CATTER......BUT if anyone ever wants to send me one my address is jfjones at hotmail dot com!!!! please do!!!! wrote it like that cos that is what everyone else does!!!! not sure why though!!!

babymad - seems like only last week you set up your own thread saying "i am pg at last after 18months TTC!!"...........can't believe you are so close to popping!!!

Bodkin · 30/07/2007 20:51

Hello again! I'm back with both hands free! Don't worry though, first-timers - it is not that time consuming having a baby - but I just feel that the time the baby is asleep I should be spending with DD. Anyway, both DDs are in bed adn DP has gone fishing so it is lovely to have some time to myself.

Chooster - have lined up DD1 for your DS1 in years to come, and Isla and Theo will make a gorgeous couple too.... Seriously though, your boys look amazing. Sounds like you have got Theo running like clockwork! Thought I had it cracked with Isla too, but am all over the place really. I guess she feeds about every 3 hours, with a few cheeky guzzles in between, and the odd feeding frenzy where nothing sates her unquenchable thirst! She went on a boob-bender yesterday evening, finally crashing out at 10pm...on the plus side, she only woke to feed once for 15 mins at 4am, and then slept on til 7am! That's one of the best night's sleep I've had in 10 months!

Firsty - I hope you are having a baby as I type this, and if not, I hope you are managing to enjoy these last few days. It's like walking about waiting to be hit by a bolt of lightening isn't it - you don't know when it's going to happen, just that it is, and it is going to change your life forever. Really really hope things happen so soon for you and it all goes well - will keep checking up on you.

Babymad - same goes for you too! When my waters broke, I wasn't even doing anything strenuous! Was lying on the sofa watching DP play playmobil with DD, and trying to summon up the energy to put her to bed. Felt a little "trickle" which I thought was CM first of all. Then when I finally got upstairs and was brushing DDs teeth, a gush that was fairly obviously waters breaking and not wee. No pain at all though. Just put on a huge pad and carried on with the bedtime routine

Iampgatlast - sorry to hear of your situation. I agree with what others have said that pregnancy can bring out the worst in men (temporarily I might add) Hope things resolve themselves soon for you.

Fettle - hope things go to plan wiht the builders! Roll on your mat leave - sounds like you deserve a well earned break! How is the SPD these days - are you still in the corset thing? And what about the cholestasis? Sorry, you have probably mentioned it already but I have to skim read posts to catch up wiht everyone! Not sure if Isla is smiler or grizzler yet, but I'm optimistic she won't be as grumpy as DD1 was as a baby.

Greedy - Hope things are going well at your building site. Any more thoughts on names yet?

Mrs - hope the migraine has passed

Ready (if you're still lurking) really sorry to hear things are getting to you. Hope things happen for you soon and we see you back here in the near future xx

Seaside - are you Sarah Beeny - wow, I think your occupation sounds fab! Let me know if you ever need any stained glass windows made or repaired for any of your properties! [blatant attempt to drum up business for myself]

OK, who have I missed - Honeyapple - how are you doing? KitKat - 1 month to go! Are you very excited?! Conkertree - where are you? Have you hatched your little conker yet?

fettleandminifettle · 30/07/2007 20:52

hey Greeds - don't be mean!! I'm allowed to talk rubbish! I'm pregnant in case you didn't realise - don't you start saying that you just think I'm fat too!!!!!!

I think if you put your address is properly then spammers have special software which means they can scan the internet for people who have listed their e-mail address, they pick up the @weewer.co.dfdf bit and then you get inundated with spam!! Very clever and very scary!!

Iampg - glad to hear you sounding a bit cheerier!

Bodkin · 30/07/2007 20:57

Took me so long to write that post I crossed with 2 people!

Greedy - I'll send you an email.... when I can think of something interesting to say! I think they write it like that because spammers have these webbots (web robots) that go through text on websites and find e-mail addresses to send spam to. But if you miss out the @ and the . they don't recognise them as e-mail addresses. I might have that a bit wrong, but it's along those lines.

Bodkin · 30/07/2007 20:58

Fettle - we're like, "OOh, miss, miss, I know the answer"

fettleandminifettle · 30/07/2007 21:00

crossed with you bodders - we always do that!!

You sound pretty in control to me!!!

No news from hospital re my blood tests last week for the liver - hoping that is good news, but TMI alert, my wee was very dark today at work, which can be a sign. Can't tell if other waste deposit is very pale, as the iron tablets seem to turn that some horrible greeny-black colour - lovely!!!!

SPD is rumbling on - unable to walk very far, very fast anymore. For the first time today, used my manager status to send a couple of my girls on errands for me around the building and up and down stairs - hated doing it, but they loved pleasing me!! Setting their objectives over the coming days, so they desperately trying to be very good!

Quite sweet actually, quite a few of the new girls, not just my direct reports have said they are really going to miss me when I go on mat leave and how are they going to cope! makes me think, that I might have felt unapprciated by people already in the department, but new, fresh eyes are noticing how much I actually do!!! Sorry, that's a bit of a self-pat on the back for me!! Not sure what I think about going back at the moment, TBH - DH announced over the weekend that he doesn't want me to go back, so we'll have to ponder than one in a few months!!

must go

take care all
xxx

going to read through this thread first, this time!!

fettleandminifettle · 30/07/2007 21:02

crossed again, bodders!!

We're obviously the swots of the thread!!! But you actually knew the term "web robots""" - so you win the spod alert prize!!!

Bodkin · 30/07/2007 21:07

I think you definitely deserve a pat on the back. Nowt wrong with blowing your own trumpet from time to time!

Sounds like you should take more advantage of your keen underlings! You could have a never-ending supply of buns and tea on your desk!

Fingers crossed all is well with your liver and the dark wee was just a one-off.

Bodkin · 30/07/2007 21:09

Oh yes, I am quite the computer geek Hardly - our pooter is a bit rubbish at the mo (keeps signing off from AOL and losing the connection) have no idea how to sort it out. Very frustrating when one is in the middle of a mammoth post...

Bodkin · 30/07/2007 21:10

Oh yes, I've put a new picture up. Her face isn't really that wide, it seems to have got a bit distorted somehow! but it is the only picture with her eyes open so will have to do.

fettleandminifettle · 30/07/2007 21:12

oh bodders - she's beautiful! Sending big virtual cuddles!!

seaside72 · 30/07/2007 22:04

Bodkin - gorgeous photo - she is so beautiful!
Sarah Beeny - I wish! - Although I did have a running joke with our Ready earlier in the year that you coud only get on her show (and Kirsty and Phil) if your were up the duff - and she always seemed to be too! (Renamed the shows "Pregnancy Ladder" and "Reproduction Reproduction")
I almost needed your services as I looked at an old church to develop last year - but did not go for it - would love to do that one day though. I am fascinated by stained glass windows - I am a reg church goer and loved watching our churches windows being renovated and cleaned/repaired last year - amazing- such an artisan craft.

Can I just say while there was talk of mothers and ironing - What is up with that! - is it a generational thing - I iron nothing - I mean nothing - maybe get the iron out 2 or 3 times a year - If it needs ironing - I dont buy it as a rule (Mind -could be cos I don't work in corporate world!) Generally I find foldinga and putting away does the job OK!!. My mum however irons everythng - pants, bras, hankerchiefs, towels - everything!! She thinks that I am a terrible wife for not ironing stuff - IMO - Life is too short! Sorry - that was not meant to be a rant just a WTF about Mums!!! I love her to bits though and know when she comes to stay I can get out any clothes that would look better ironed/hand washed etc and she will be in her element!

MrsMc - hope the migraine is fading hon.

Fettle - I may be picking your brain later about liver stuff - I have been quite itchy in general and mw did special bloods she says it is OK for now - but my wee is generally quite dark - but just thought that was cos not drunk enough water Have a pat on the back from me too - just or even being at work, if nothing else!

Iampg - hope you manage to sort it out with your DP - DH and I had a blazing row on Saturday cos he lost his temper over something trivial and all I could think about was what if he does this with a baby or child? PG def changes your views and opinions of what is acceptable behaviour in very way.{{{big hugs}}}

greedy - will email you if I find something good! to send!

Firststar & Babymad - thinking birthing thoughts for you both!!

Chooster - very jealous of MrsMc's Thoe hugs!!

Think Honeyapple is on hols?

Sorry if I missed anyone - pg brain is really starting to play havoc - am forgetting things all the time and just can't be bothered with work/bills/reality!! Much happier day dreaming. I have not felt any "movement/flutterings" yet - will it be obvious? I cant wait to feel movement as I am hoping it will alleviate the constant panic that I want to hear a heartbeat! (prob not though eh?!) 15 weeks and counting - tum is showing but seems to have stalled a bit -been the same for past 2 weeks? Kinda want it to grow a bit more so looks like I am pg not just bloated and pot-bellied!!

Right off to watch BB (Ohh the shame of it !)

fettleandminifettle · 30/07/2007 22:30

Ok giving up and going to bed now - just wrote a really long post, but lost it!!

Just wanted to say to Seaside - don't worry about cholestasis, although can start this early, normally doesn't start until around 7 months. Although general itchiness can be a sign - what you're really looking for is "troublesome" itching of your palms of hands and soles of feet. And by troublesome, I mean unable to sleep due to itching - I scratched myself to bleeding at some points!! Tends to be worse at nights.

Once diagnosed, they'll keep a very close eye on you and give you some treatment to try and control the bile and liver enzyme levels. They may well induce you at 37 weeks, as there is an increased risk of unexplained fetal distress and death after this time. They induced me at 36 weeks as my liver enzymes went sky-high and I was so worried about my baby, that they decided she'd be better out than in at that stage as she was growing really well (7lbs 4 oz at 36 weeks, isn't a bad weight!!).

It is basically caused by a build up of bile acid under your skin of palms and soles - as your liver has difficulty metabolising the extra oestrogen produced during pregancy. It also means that you'll be unable to take the combined oral contraceptive pill after you've been diagnosed with obstetric cholestasis.

I would think that if it is just general itching that's a normal sign of pregnancy - I'm really itchy all over now, but that's probably the same effect of talking about nits!!!

HTH and don't worry - if you do get it, we can discuss it further!!
take care
xxx

seaside72 · 30/07/2007 23:02

thanks fettle xxx - good night

Chooster · 31/07/2007 09:14

Aw, Bodders, Isla is just beautiful. I showed DS2 in one of his wakeful moments and he's pretty interested , especially as it sounds like she's a girl who likes her sleep and grub too... . I reckon it sounds like you've got things fairly sussed - wow, just one wake up in the night - sounds like heaven.

Theo is not feeding that well at night the last couple of nights and am not sure why. He and I have got thrush of the boob / mouth (ouch!!!!) so its a bit sore for me - well that putting it mildly, its feels like sandpaper on my nips. Am wondering if I am more tense at night and this rubs off on him, but he constantly fidgets and goes on the boob, off the boob, on the boob, off the boob - you get the picture!... either way, he's still a star!

Iampg - Just to say sorry for the worries and arguments with DP. Others have said it far better, but pregnancy can make a man flip out a little bit - sounds like he's just trying to prove a point that he can still have fun - its not much fun for you though eh? I'd be the same as you about the flirting - that wouldn't go down well with me at all - we've had many rows about this in the early days of our relationship. I dont mind PC porn, but thats only cos I take a peek too

Hi Seaside!!! You'll be feeling that little one move around before you know it and you'll feel such a huge amount of reassurance. You may not recognise it at first, but pretty soon you'll know its your LO saying hello! I know what you mean about Sarah Beeny - she must have about 7 kids by now .

Good luck with the building work Greeds and Fettle! Fingers crossed the deadlines now stick! Its good to hear you are getting a bit of appreciation Fettle - at least you can leave on a high and then decide what you want to do about returning.

I know what you mean about ironing. My MIL has been doing our washing since DS2 has been born and everything comes back perfectly ironed - even pants .

Anyway best dash - DS2 is sleeping which is my cue to lie next to him for some quality time

greedygreedyguzzler · 31/07/2007 09:56

your post made me cry chooster! i LOVE lying next to sleeping babies!!!! i can't wait!!!!!!!!!!

and bodders - your new pic is gorgeous! she looks so sweet...............i am SO JEALOUS of you two!!!!!!

so if your dc are all paired off who can i pair mine off with? fettle - would your dd fancy marrying my very handsome ds in the future. he is only about 6 months older i think and girls do mature quicker than boys.................or is she showing lesbian tendencies and would she prefer my dd??!!! who can i pair my dd up with??!!

ds did tell me yesterday he was going to marry dd and live nextdoor to me and daddy!!!

gotta go give the kids some attention1!

BabyMadandBIGbump · 31/07/2007 10:39

Hi ladies!

Feeling really feed up today, yesterday I just felt like crying but I resisted I don't think I'll be able to do that today, but then again maybe a dam good cry will start things off, so sick of cleaning, sex, raspberry leaf tabs, curry's and pineapples, so just going to rest from now on! Taking the DC to the park later hopefully it will clear my head, I'm just abit worried that the chance of going into labour on my own with 2 DC around to look after are very high and it's putting me on the edge all day long, so a little stressed! I was never feed up with my other PGs, and once in labour I stayed in labour their was never these on and off pains, odd twinges and tightening and their was never this "is it or isn't it" question, so this is very new and odd to me! back soon!

OP posts:
greedygreedyguzzler · 31/07/2007 13:08

babymad - poor thing. i know how you feel cos i felt like that with my ds. unfortunately, as you know, there isn't really much you can do to kickstart things, it will happen when your body is ready.
you will be fine and will cope with whatever happens. if you are on your own with ds's i am sure you will find a way to cope, so try really hard not to stress about it. just enjoy your last few days with just you and your boys before new baby appears!!! easier said than done i know!........i am already SO impatient to see this one that i know i will be a nightmare if i go overdue again!............thinking of you.

hey! maybe you should try going on the see saw this afternoon and see if that helps start things off.

BabyMadandBIGbump · 31/07/2007 14:23

Feeling alittle better after a little cry, 2 friends have popped round today which was nice, one has asked if she could take DS#2 (5 yrs) to "west midland safari park" for the day on Thursday I said that fine he'll love that, she has a DS in the same class at school and are really good friends, she was having a good feel of bump and sharing with me want she went though with her ds#2 which was nice to have a chat with a grown up! Also my gran is having both DC all day tomorrow so I might not feel so stressed for the next 2 days, worrying about going into labour on my own with no one but 2 DC around, like you said I WILL cope some how some way, off out now, park and shopping, hopefully take my mind off things!

Firsty how you getting on chick?!

OP posts:
KitKat30 · 31/07/2007 14:48

Hi girls - sorry for not posting for a while, but I'm kind of sitting hee typing with one hand.... no fractures, just cudding my very small brand new son.

Long story short: waters broke last Mon -rushed to hospital but nothing happened and my contractions stopped. They had to keep me in because of the risk of infection....finally went into labour on Weds afternoon (9 hours, epidural, 2nd deg tear...ouch), and Joe was born v early Thurs morning. He's 5 weeks premature so we've been in hospital all this time to make`sure he's OK.

We're both doing well now, especially as we're back at home. I cant beleive he's here and I cant beleive how gorgeous he is.

So I hope you'll forgive me for not posting but I had a good reason!

What have i missed - anyone else popped???
