I got my pregnancy notes book through the door once I booked in for my first appointment with the midwife, basically it's just health history, if I smoke etc

TrashKitten10 · 12/04/2019 10:03

@Lozzlepop The pot is tiny! My OPK pot was a Chinese pot so caught all. I tried to use the midwife's pot and there was wee all over my hand, covering the outside of the pot, basically everywhere other than in the pot 😂 I wiped it best I could but did feel bad handing her this pot which I had just pissed all over. The TTC thread wee pot conversation was hilarious, I feel like the booking in appointment wee pot is the sequel haha.

@OhMarnie Bonus getting an extra scan :) Bet it was fantastic seeing baby again and not too many weeks to wait until your 'proper' 12 week scan.

L0ULEW · 12/04/2019 10:38

@TrashKitten10 hahahaha that make me laugh so much! I did the exact same - my face turned beetroot colour as i gave it to her knowing it was covered in my wee 😂

Lozzlepop · 12/04/2019 11:09

@OhMarnie aw ideal getting an extra little scan, must be lovely seeing your little bean. I just want it to be next Saturday already to put my mind at ease! Oh god I hope i get the syringe 😂

@Colleen437 maybe I will get something away with me today?!

@TraskKitten10 my receptacle of choice was a classic American house party "red cup" haha love that it was a Chinese tub you used, this story literally crack me up. Feel I want to go back and reread that part of the thread 😂lets hope for the midwives sake she doesn't get handed a pissy pot.

Hello! I suppose I'm just looking for a bit of help and advice and sorry to bring you down with my story, Im just looking to see if this has happened to anyone? I'm currently 7 + 3 and a couple of weeks ago ( at 5+3) I went to my EPU because of some pain and light pink discharge. They've done blood and urine test and scan. During the scan they've picked up that I have two sacs one measuring 5+3 the other 5+2. They've arranged another scan for today (2weeks later). My symptoms definitely got stronger, I'm off a lot of food, wee all the time, boobs are growing like mad and feeling sick and tired pretty much all day!
Today I've went for a normal maternity US where the lady pretty much after 10 second said she thinks that the sacs are empty. She didn't have my notes and results from two weeks ago so we told her what we were told back then. She then put her hands up in the air and said but there are no babies so I've had a missed miscarriage. We then went back down to the EPU, it turns out that she didn't even put down both sac's measurements on my report and in fact, the one sac they could compare to her notes has more than doubled since last week. My hcg was 10,000+ two weeks ago so they've done another blood test to confirm and they will do another scan tomorrow with another sonographer. The doc said they can't confirm miscarriage unless the sac is 27mm and empty or the pole is less than 12 mm by now. I am shocked and angry that the lady who did our scan today pretty much told me I've lost both babies when I'm feeling sooo pregnant.
Has anyone has any advice? I am so confused, shocked and sad!

Preggosaurus9 · 12/04/2019 12:15

All the scan news is so exciting Smile

Working from home today as feel like death warmed up. Randomly running to the loo. Just want to sleep all day but answering some emails and have a phone call booked in later which I'm not sure how I'll manage..

Pollypocket5 · 12/04/2019 12:23

@Babybloom oh bless you that sounds so horrible what you experienced today. What a horrible woman!

When you went for your scan a couple of weeks ago did they find a heartbeat? I really hope you get the answers you are looking for.

Babybloom · 12/04/2019 12:34

@Pollypocket5 no, they haven't but the doctor at the time she said she was happy with the findings because it was so early on (5+3) that it can appear one day to another. I'm mentally preparing myself for the worst but so far the sac was progressing as it should have in terms of size.

Colleen437 · 12/04/2019 12:39

@Babybloom sorry to hear hopefully it's just a missed diagnosis on there part and everything will be fine.

Just had my booking in appointment and got my scan date while I was there may 8th I'll be 13 + 3 by my calculations but on my early scan I was a week behind. They was lovely and I've ended up with a student nurse which is caseloading me for her exams due to me having a septum ulterus.

Babybloom · 12/04/2019 12:45

@Colleen437 thanks lovely, hopefully! Otherwise I am booked in for my 12 week scan on the same day as you, 8th May. I really hope there is miracle out there and I can still carry at least one of the babies to the end and have a healthy baby to welcome in November!

tigsyboo · 12/04/2019 13:30

@Babybloom sorry your having a tough time.
They must have said more - ie when to come back.
Blighted ovum's do have exactly the same pregnancy symptoms but a fetal Pole doesn't develop.
I hope it is ok but honesty and experience suggests that if you can't see a fetal pole at this point over 7 weeks there is a good chance this is a blighted ovum A's by now you should be seeing so much more.
I can only go on the info you are putting in your posts, and I hope there is more to it and it's not the case, but you need to get answers and the epu must have a plan going forward - I'd deffo demand a rescan with measurements and have a frank talk to a midwife - you seem to be indicating one sac may be viable, but if you have to pass the other one your cervix will be open so how will they deal with that?
I think you need to think logically and and some pertinent questions as take it from someone who knows.... living in the dark wondering is much worse than knowing the facts xxx

Babybloom · 12/04/2019 13:33

@tigsyboo thank you so much for your honest words! The plan for now is to go back for another scan tomorrow as the woman who did the one today didn't put down my measurements for both sacs. So when I had a chat with the doctor, he couldn't properly compare everything from two weeks ago. At the moment we don't know if any of the sacs are viable so tomorrow we will know more. I guess if based on today's Hcg, my levels are rising as they should and they see both sacs or even the pole tomorrow then I'll be asked to go back in a couple of weeks again. If blood test shows declining results and empty sacs then I guess it's fair to say it was a mmc in both sacs.

TrashKitten10 · 12/04/2019 13:43

After my whittle and worry this morning, I got my scan letter in the post this afternoon :) 2 weeks today when I'll be 12+3. So now I've stopped worrying about when the scan will be, I can start worrying about the scan itself.

@Babybloom Sounds like the sonographer lacked any form of bedside manner! Hoping that it's positive news for you tomorrow.

@L0ULEW That's so funny. I suppose midwives are used to getting their hands dirty and a bit of wee is nothing 😂

@Lozzlepop An American house party red cup, that's so funny haha. Yes I might go back and have a read :) I do have a little look on the thread and how people are getting on and hope for more grads.

tigsyboo · 12/04/2019 13:45

@Babybloom I really do hope there is something they can tell you that's positive tomorrow. Take some time tonight to prepare some questions for all scenarios as you only seem to get the drs attention for the 5 mins you are in front of them. The questions I had after never got resolved as the consultant wouldn't return my calls.

Really will be thinking about you xxxx

Babybloom · 12/04/2019 13:46

Thank you @tigsyboo @TrashKitten10

Babybloom · 12/04/2019 17:38

Just got a call from the hospital and my hcg levels went up to 42,000 which is the top end of what they were expecting.

Mintypea5 · 12/04/2019 17:39

@Babybloom that's good news! How are you feeling?

JoJoSaysHello · 12/04/2019 18:58

@tigsyboo I'm sorry that you have to wait until tomorrow to get your answers! How frustrating that the sonographer didn't measure the sacs. I so hope it's good news for you tomorrow.

Is there any chance that you could have been dated a bit early on your first scan and so it could be that you're not as far along as you think? When I had my early scan at 6w2d there was no pole to be seen, but one has since developed and my dates haven't changed between the two scans.

@TrashKitten10 my booking in appointment went well thank you - absolutely lovely midwife!! I definitely handed her a pot that I'd had to wipe clean of wee Blush Whoops!! It took 50 minutes so there's definitely a lot of variation. Now waiting for a letter with my 12 week scan date.

Sessy19 · 12/04/2019 19:00

So, along with my private scan booked for Monday, I saw my GP today who was able to reassure me that my hCG levels post bleeding (I’ve now stopped bleeding) are at 147,000 mlUml, which indicates I’m still very much pregnant. I’m feeling way better than I was 36hrs ago 😊

tigsyboo · 12/04/2019 19:35

@JoJoSaysHello it's @Babybloom xx

Babybloom · 12/04/2019 19:43

@JoJoSaysHello it is indeed! I think we will make a complaint as she got my name wrong so she recorded everything under the wrong name, then my husband had to correct her many times as she got my weeks wrong too and then she didn't record the second sac's measurements and issued the letter without it!
I think I may be behind with the dates as I think I'm only around just about 7 weeks. My hcg levels have gone up, the hospital called and it's at 42,000 which is the top end of what they've expected. I remain positive as I know at least one of them is in there!

JoJoSaysHello · 12/04/2019 20:03

Sorry @tigsyboo & @Babybloom - didn't mean to confuse the two of you!!

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow @Babybloom. Be sure to update us!

OhMarnie · 12/04/2019 21:43

Public service announcement: The new Dumbo film is not I repeat NOT suitable for emotional pregnant ladies. Sobbed my bloody heart out! 😂😫 I forgot how sad it was and was a blubbering mess in the cinema 😂🐘

LetsDoThisAgain · 12/04/2019 22:45

Can I join? 9 wks, 3 days, only found out I'm pregnant yesterday. 🙈

Getting a private scan tomorrow. We're very worried because my husband has a genetic condition that can cause miscarriages, so we'll need CVS testing at 12 weeks.

Mintypea5 · 13/04/2019 10:06

@LetsDoThisAgain welcome. Hope you're scan goes well xx
