@TrashKitten10 it's annoying isn't it! I've been the same. I just want our 12 week scan to come round now too. I still sorta don't mind, it's so worth it. I love just randomly thinking I'm never on my own now, a little baby is growing inside 💕. Did feel a little annoyed when I slaved over a hot stove making bloody pie dinner tonight only to take one look at it and throw it into the bin 🙄😂

My best friend did me a gorgeous little box full of bits for me and baby, and got me a scan photo frame so we've got our early scan pic in it and on the side board, every time I catch a glimpse of it my heart feels like it's going to burst 😊

Did anyone suddenly just suddenly feel awful? I’m 8+5 today. Have had cramps, ligament pain, sore boobs etc but yesterday I was suddenly floored. Feel really nauseous, head is pounding, really shaky and faint feeling. Was hoping yesterday was just a one of but I’m worse today. Working from bed but dreading going in to a day of meetings tomorrow if this keeps up and I feel awful for complaining after 2.5 years trying and 2 rounds of IVF to get here.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 08/04/2019 12:59

WineWinner - Yes, sadly I think that’s really common. It’s so tough isn’t it. I’m sure you’re incredibly grateful to be pregnant, but that doesn’t mean everything is easy now Flowers. Hopefully it will subside soon.

I’ve found over the past 3 (working) days colleagues keep starting conversations about pregnancy/people who are pregnant. I’m definitely not just imagining it or being paranoid. I now feel bleurrghhh about the fact I must look obviously pregnant (partly because it means I’m fatter than I’d realised Grin but mostly because I really wanted to keep it hidden from work as long as possible Sad).

WineWinner · 08/04/2019 13:21

@TheGruffalosLoveChild totally thought I had escaped it and was enjoying the symptoms I did have but this has me floored. Glad it's normal though so thank you for the reassurance!

I'm sure you don't look big at all lovely. If they are talking round you then hopefully even if they are guessing they aren't going to ask you flat out at least! I'm sure some people at my work are thinking things too as I've put on over a stone with all the medication but I'm the same as you and trying to hold out telling anyone there.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 08/04/2019 13:35

Oh it really is normal WineWinner! It’s horrible and you’ll pray it’s all over...then one day you’ll wake up and feel ok and you’ll panic about why all your symptoms have gone!

Thank you for your sweet words. It’s tough when I feel grim anyway, so I don’t really want people speculating/talking behind my back. I imagine you feel self-conscious with the weight gain too. IVF can be a total bummer like that (but how amazing that we live in a world where we have IVF and the possibility of people having babies who maybe otherwise couldn’t!). Annoyingly, I think I may need to tell work sooner rather than later...hopefully at least after my scan at 13 weeks though.

Iman77 · 08/04/2019 15:15

HOW do exactly people work when there's a chance every hour of throwing up, even on an empty stomach?

I'm with you guys, hungry all the time, nauseated all the time.. and yes, happy to be pregnant but want to be normal again. I really, really pray this only lasts the first trimester. So scared I'll be one of those nauseated up to the 9th month!

babybear1127 · 08/04/2019 15:58

I can answer that one... you don’t work 😫 I’m currently on my 5th day off in a row and feeling so guilty because my employer has been great. I just want to go back to work and let normal life resume but I didn’t get to sleep until 5am this morning - I’m a zombie!

Pamplem00se · 08/04/2019 16:09

Hi everyone....
Sorry to hear about the nausea/ sickness. It's really tough: i was so ill with my girls the only thing that helped in the end was meds from gp.
I meanwhile have been feeling much better the last 48 hours so am now totally paranoid. Have a scan at the epu tomorrow due to previous loss (had hb at 6 weeks) and convinced it will be bad news because of the symptom drop off. Doesn't help I lost my last at around this stage and replaying the sonpgrapher telling me about the lack of heart beat over and over. My eldest (9) worked out I was preg over the weekend too and told the other two so now have the added pressure of telling three small children things have gone wrong. Argh!

Pollypocket5 · 08/04/2019 16:42

Hi ladies.

Ones that have had their booking in appointments what tests were done?

PrayingandHoping · 08/04/2019 17:02

@Pollypocket5 height, weight, carbon monoxide, bloods test, urine, blood pressure.... think that's all 🤔

TrashKitten10 · 08/04/2019 17:18

@Pamplem00se Hope all goes well tomorrow, I'm sure it will :) I can imagine it's even harder trying to stay calm and positive when you've had a previous loss.

After a really sicky day yesterday, I've had my best day for weeks today. I've even cooked a proper tea from scratch whereas normally I can't even face being in the kitchen. Really hoping my hormones have balanced out and this is the start of feeling better, although it could just be my body giving me a day of respite before starting up again :)

For those that have had early scans, are you using those measurement dates or sticking with your original dates for the time being? The date I was going by was my predicted ovulation from OPKs which would put me at 9+1. Early scan measurements put me at 9+6 and LMP at 10+2. It's not a big deal as I know we get properly dated at 12 weeks but I'm just not sure when I'm doing my app obsessing if I assume my baby is an olive or kumquat 😂

Pollypocket5 · 08/04/2019 17:28

Thanks @PrayingandHoping

@TrashKitten10 I am going with the date they put me at my early scan for now.

Preggosaurus9 · 08/04/2019 18:17

@Mintypea5 trifle is the food of the gods! Do it Grin

Preggosaurus9 · 08/04/2019 18:27

Realise I checked in a few days ago but forgot to post Blush

Went for NIPT today with baby bond but measuring 9+6 instead of 10+6 (from LMP). So booked in again 2 weeks' time. Saw heartbeat and little limbs waving around which was lovely.

Mintypea5 · 08/04/2019 19:34

Is it bed time yet??!?

Pop1234 · 08/04/2019 19:59

@Mintypea5 I wish Shock soooo sleepy.

RainhamRosie · 08/04/2019 20:06

Had my booking appointment today! Confirmed my weight gain is alarming, I'm blaming the chicken nuggets I keep craving. DH came to be supportive but I think the poor thing was close to nodding off. We've agreed he'll just come to the scans in future. It's all starting to feel very real.

@Pollypocket5 I had bloods, carbon monoxide, BMI, blood pressure and a urine dip test.

LittleAndOften · 08/04/2019 20:40

Thoughts for the day:

  1. Mini pots of trifle are the ultimate pregnancy food.
  2. I seem to have a funny taste in my mouth all the time. May be why I want sweet things.
  3. My enlarging uterus isn't happy when I bend.
  4. Hot flushes happen from about 9pm to 1am.

That is all.
Grin

Mintypea5 · 08/04/2019 21:12

@LittleAndOften I've never liked trifle but now it's AAALLLLLLLL I can think about. Had some over the weekend and wa sin heaven

L0ULEW · 08/04/2019 21:13

Eeek had my 12 week scan date through finally! Role on the 2nd May - think I'll be 12+4 then in 9 weeks today (that's what I'm going with until they tell me otherwise hahaha)
Was the pick me up I needed today :D haven't had an early scan so this will be first time I get to see my jellybean ❤️

LittleAndOften · 08/04/2019 21:33

@Mintypea5 when I was pg with ds I was constantly picking up 3-packs of tesco mini trifles on the way back from school. Terrible habit but sooooo good!

@L0ULEW exciting times! Got ours on 5th May, should be 12+6 by then, if my maths is right (which it may well not be) 😁

LittleAndOften · 08/04/2019 21:35

@mintypea5 I was a teacher, not a troubled teenager 😂

L0ULEW · 08/04/2019 21:43

@LittleAndOften I'm so ready for them to tell me I'm not as far gone as I think which will be sad but as long as they tell me it's doing well I'll be happy.

Mintypea5 · 08/04/2019 23:31

@L0ULEW yay exciting!!

@LittleAndOften Grin I'm sooooo tempted to get some for a snack at work now.

Lozzlepop · 09/04/2019 09:19

Morning all,

Wow theres been a lot to catch up on ☺️ I honestly had the best nights sleep last night - I feel like a new woman as I slept the whole night through (unheard of) 👍🏻Ladies that have received your scan date, have you already had your booking in appointment? I have no idea how it all works! I have my booking in appointment on Friday then we have an early scan next Saturday 😁
