The amount of eating I’m doing at the minute I wouldn’t be surprised! Grin

LittleAndOften · 23/03/2019 10:02

Morning all. I introduced myself at the end of the last thread so I feel like I need to do it again now! I'm having ridiculous cravings and symptoms - burping, sore boobs, fatigue, nausea, instant raging hunger, cramps. I'm telling myself that it's a sign of a strong pregnancy, but I still feel awful! All I want to eat is toast with marmite or bread and butter.

AcatcalledGary · 23/03/2019 10:03

Quick update, I went to the loo and have some bleeding. It’s not much and it’s on the brown rather than red side but I obviously I panicked and rang 111 and I’m seeing an out of hours GP at 11:15.

OhMarnie · 23/03/2019 10:04

@LittleAndOften toast and marmite is my saviour right now 🙌🙌🙌

jacquesjacques · 23/03/2019 10:07

Checking in! I've had my first scan, measured 5+4 and saw a heartbeat. Just waiting for my 8 week scan before I start becoming more active as I'm still not past my personal time mark in terms of losses yet!

I am here, listening and reading all your posts with interest though Smile

LittleAndOften · 23/03/2019 10:08

@ohmarnie I can't get enough! Going to need to stock up on another crusty loaf methinks. I don't want big meals or hot drinks either.

@acatcalledgary that's a worry. I've been there. Hopefully you can get an early scan to put your mind at ease x

LittleAndOften · 23/03/2019 10:11

@jacquesjacques congratulations, same here we saw the heartbeat on Thursday (6w5d). Its amazing isn't it! We christened ours the pterodactyl as he/she had a pointy beak Grin Focusing on getting to 12w before I let myself relax a bit.

Mintypea5 · 23/03/2019 10:15

@LittleAndOften toast and marmite is everything to me right now! Last pregnancy it moved into toast with marmite and honey mixed together

@AcatcalledGary fingers crossed it's all ok. Brown bleeding tends to be old blood so fingers crossed it's nothing to worry about but having bled in my last pregnancy at 7&8&11&14 then pretty much weekly after I know how worrying it is! Let us know how you get on xx

@jacquesjacques I totally understand. Fingers crossed time flies for your 8 week scan. I'm calling the epu for mine next week and am terrified

jacquesjacques · 23/03/2019 10:17

@LittleAndOften It's amazing! Especially because it's so small so you don't really feel like there could be anything in there.

We did see a heartbeat last time too though and it didn't end well, but it was nowhere near as clear as this one!

Looking forward to my 8 week scan when I know it's all developing.

We've called ours the worm...

Hi Ladies, I'm 7 + 3. Due on 6th Nov. This my second child, first boy is nearly 6. I feel strange as not been the drs yet as had to self refer to the midwives so i wont see anyone until next week. Not feeling real atall. However i do have sore boobs and VERY tired. After 6 years you forgett everything so it feels like your first time again Blush DH wants to find out gender again this time but i dont. He says he will find out and not tell me Hmm Has anyone else had a simular discussion?

TrashKitten10 · 23/03/2019 10:24

@LittleAndOften Bread is the food of Gods for me as well right now. I'm really worried about the fact my diet is pretty much 100% carbs and rubbish right now but hoping baby is managing to get what it needs somehow through toast, crackers and biscuits.

@jacquesjacques lovely news, glad it all went well :)

@AcatcalledGary Bless you, hope all is okay

LittleAndOften · 23/03/2019 10:27

@trashkitten10 I had an oven chip butty for tea last night. It was LUSH! Grin

TrashKitten10 · 23/03/2019 10:35

@LittleAndOften That sounds incredible! I bought some oven chips yesterday as a nice dry and non nausea inducing dinner option so might have to have one of my own.

I had been managing to eat so healthily for the last few months, so much veg and now it's all gone to pot. Yesterday's Tesco's order was the most beige selection I've ever seen Grin

Waitingformyrainbow · 23/03/2019 10:53

@LittleAndOften I had exactly the same for dinner last night haha, I really enjoyed it!

MindyMoonstone · 23/03/2019 11:21

For those of you having issues with acid / gnawing feeling in stomach, this is similar to the pains caused by my gastritis.

My top tips for neutralising the acid are: bananas (they are alkaline and slippery so they coat your stomach and protect it), coconut milk (not regular milk- coconut milk is alkaline and soothing, dairy milk is soothing at first but difficult to digest so ultimately makes it worse), coconut or aloe water (both alkaline), chamomile tea, white rice, and I used to take a herbal supplement before every meal called slippery elm but wouldn’t suggest this without speaking to a doc given pregnancies :)
AVOID: coffee (including decaf), soy, tomato, fizzy pop, citrus fruits, extremely greasy food. All of these things are either extremely acidic or difficult to digest, or both, so if you’re having a flare up it will make it worse.

@bean1987 thanks for asking! It was not fun haha! Lots of peer pressure “I’m sure you can just have one, you’ll be fine, etc etc”. One person called me out and said your pregnant aren’t you! I said “I wish!” And that shut them up ;)
We left about 8.30 and came home for the blanket and take away, yay!

I am considering going home early next Friday and telling people I had a headache to avoid the next big night out to be honest! Grin

@acatcalledgary sending love, best wishes, positive thoughts all your way. Flowers

MindyMoonstone · 23/03/2019 11:23

@Mummywalker9 we have had a similar chat - I am desperate to know, OH desperate for a surprise.

I’ve agreed that I will not find out for him, because if I know and he doesn’t I will definitely let it slip! There’s not many things in life that are a total surprise so as long as little one is happy and healthy, I don’t mind boy or girl and happy to let OH have this one :)!

Mintypea5 · 23/03/2019 11:38

@MummyWalker9 opposite for us. I want to know and DH doesn't. We found out last time so I'm going to try my absolute hardest to keep it a surprise but DH has said that if at the 20 weeks scan I just can't manage it we can find out.

We already have 2 boys Smile

AcatcalledGary · 23/03/2019 11:45

Just come back from the Drs. He wasn’t overly concerned but has booked me in for a scan first thing Monday morning. Pain and bleeding has subsided for now so I’m trying not to overthink it.

Aph413 · 23/03/2019 11:46

Oh course I can't stop testing. First response rapid results. Is this normal? The control is so faint

Fingers crossed for you @AcatcalledGary
And to everyone talking about insomnia, I worked 15 hours yesterday then went for an hour long walk in the hopes of getting more sleep, no luck. I still woke at 3am and 5am and then couldn't get back to sleep, I almost can't feel my face I'm so tired now

Littleseed · 23/03/2019 12:40

Thanks for the new thread @Aph413

@AcatcalledGary I feel for you, and know how nerve wracking the wait is. The wait is the hardest part, but usually everything is OK. I hope everything goes well for you on Monday. Let us know how you get on. Flowers xx

Littleseed · 23/03/2019 12:43

@MintyPea5 How are you and baby this morning?
I saw my MW yesterday! She said that the fibroids could be the cause of the bleeding. I'm trying to remain positive and hold onto that and hope everything is as it should be.

Oh and for those that are wondering what happens ( I actually youtube'd it, so knew what to expect Wink ), you have your bloods taken, urine taken, lots of questions asked - medical history, family's medical history, questions about drugs, alcohol, and smoking. They also test you for carbon monoxide by getting you to breathe into this breath thing- which she said you'd need to do every time you see your midwife.

Preggosaurus9 · 23/03/2019 13:38

@TrashKitten10 I lived off Quavers and biscuits for the first 16 weeks (horrible MS) and didn't do any harm.. made up for in in 3tr though when I ate anything and everything in large quantities Blush

Count me in for nausea.. hit me big time this week and I'm struggling mentally especially because with DS1 it lasted well into 2tr. The only way to feel ok is to be constantly distracted. When I get a minute to myself e.g. going to loo I realise just how bloody awful I feel! I'm drinking ginger/cinnamon tea constantly and nibbling crisps/liquorice. Mostly ok so long as I don't get too hungry.

Anyone else feeling the nausea get worse if you drink a cold drink?

As last time I now can't stand tea or coffee Sad only a matter of time before chocolate is a no go. My tastebuds seem to change totally and the caffeine just triggers the nausea. I ended up crying last time because I just wanted a nice cuppa!

CherryVanilla7 · 23/03/2019 14:53

Hi ladies, just got bfp this morning. I think I'm due around the 22nd. This is my 2nd baby. Excited and nervous! How are you all doing?
