Hi ladies, thought I’d start another thread as the original one is closed and don’t think anyone has started a new one yet? I’m sure there are more ladies I should tag!

@Bellaphant I have one but feel like it makes me worse!! Will try again 😂

Vicks82 · 03/04/2019 16:45

Thanks for your message @BeckyButterfly and welcoming, lovely to hear from someone with the same due date 😊 I haven't been on for a few days as developed migraines and raised blood pressure. Dr told me to take a week off work and monitor blood pressure, a bit of a worry. Doing as instructed though! No, we haven't found out baby's gender, my husband really wants the surprise although I'll admit at the scan I was so tempted to ask! What about you?

BeckyButterfly · 03/04/2019 19:13

@Vicks82 aww migraines are the worst! I hope they clear up soon.
We found out we are having a girl 🙂

Mayjane5 · 03/04/2019 19:29

@Vicks82 hope you are feeling better, I couldn’t imagine getting a migraine whilst pregnant it’s must be awful, I’ve had them before they just terrible. Can you take anything for them?

rosyedith · 03/04/2019 21:12

Hi again! Anyone been to the dentist since being pregnant? I haven't and worried I should have

Mayjane5 · 04/04/2019 18:35

@rosyedith I’ve not been yet but noticed my teeth more sensitive at the moment, brushing more than twice a day now and using a mouthwash for gums, you get free nhs treatment now and up to a year after the birth

Bellaphant · 04/04/2019 19:22

@rosyedith, I went yesterday: been dreading it, I hate it and I haven't been in way too long. My gums are in a state, not helped by pregnancy, but going back to the hygienist next week. With the diabetes test and midwife feel like I'm just constantly booking appointments!

Been super poorly today, actually took a few hours off work. 14 weeks 'til due date, feels really long and really short at the same.time.

Vicks82 · 06/04/2019 21:05

Thank you @BeckyButterfly and congratulations that you'll be having a little girl 😊
And thanks @Mayjane5 no they didn't offer me anything, I think because they've just started it and just told me to rest in dark room.
Pleased to say it seems to be improving after a few days, blood pressure seems stable too so hopefully over this spell & Dr will be happy on Tuesday's check up. I've got a headache now but think that's due to the stinking cold I've now come down with!

Loujonesy · 08/04/2019 21:25

Anyone else really struggling with sleeping. Can't sleep on my sides and end up on my back every time. Tried maternity pillow but still end up on back with that... Help peeps. Really need a good nights sleep 💤💤

Vicks82 · 09/04/2019 12:24

@Loujonesy I can't offer an answer but I'm finding it incredibly hard to sleep as well, so you're not alone. I bought one of the maternity pillows that is a u shape and joined with a pillow, rather than a single length. I've managed to get on a little better with it since I've been using it upside down! But I still wake repeatedly throughout the night and keep waking up on my back. Am going to mention it to midwife Thursday and see if she has any suggestions, if she does I'll pass them on.

rosyedith · 09/04/2019 21:45

@Loujonesy I'm exactly the same!! Feel so comfy on my back but I know they advise against it. X

rosyedith · 09/04/2019 21:46

Does anyone have any names yet? I'm really struggling to find a boys name... we don't know what we're having! X

BeckyButterfly · 09/04/2019 22:33

I can’t help with the sleep either because I constantly roll onto my back. My MW told me not to panic about it and that it is likely your body would wake you if you’d trapped your artery so that helped me relax because I wasn’t sleeping at all from worrying about it. I am managing to sleep but often end up on my back.
My pregnancy pillow helps a lot. It is a 9ft one so I wedge it behind my back which means I rest against that rather than lying directly on my back (if that makes sense..!)

We have chosen our name (fingers crossed she suits it when she comes out) we had names picked out before I even fell pregnant! First and middle names haha.

Vicks82 · 09/04/2019 22:41

@rosyedith We've found quite a few girls names that we both like, although not set on any of them yet. If we do have a girl I'd like to try and link in my mum's name somehow as she's no longer with us. We're also really struggling with boys names - I got another baby name book out of the library and went through the whole boys section today and there just wasn't anything that jumped out!

rosyedith · 10/04/2019 07:28

@Vicks82 my friend told me she could only think of boys names and ended up having a boy, so subconsciously maybe we know what we're having and that's why we can only decide on a name of that sex xx

Vicks82 · 10/04/2019 11:55

@rosyedith Hadn't thought of it like that, but yes perhaps it's all in our subconscious. 15 weeks left for me until we find out! xx

rosyedith · 10/04/2019 12:29

Me too! When are u due @Vicks82 ? I'm 20th July x

Bellaphant · 10/04/2019 12:41

That's so funny, we can't think of any boys names either! We're pretty settled on a girl's name though. 13 weeks for me though.

Diabetes test tomorrow so fasting tonight and then up early tomorrow!!! Got my pyshio appt on the 24th as well: feel like I'm just going to appointments! Luckily I can be flexible with work and catch up some evenings. Trying to pass my driving test before baby too!!

@beckybutterfly, that's reassuring about the back thing: I feel awful when I wake up on my back and being worried and sad in the middle of the night isn't fun!

Jummynbean · 11/04/2019 06:37

Hi everyone! How's are things going? Not been on for ages xx

Bunnybaubles · 11/04/2019 14:07

Hi @Jummynbean I'm the same, not been on for a while, had a uni assessment due so it's been hectic!

I just keep having baby brain moments! Forgot my hospital appointment with the diabetes and high blood pressure obstetricians, forgot all about my hair appointment... twice... totally had to go grovelling for another appointment and I kept forgetting to phone the diabetes nurse to inform them my glucose was rising! If I didn't have to look after my 9 month old I'd just stay in bed 😂

@Bellaphant goodluck with your diabetes test today, hopefully your glucose levels are all good. I have GD and it really sucks the fun out of the pregnancy 😂

Vicks82 · 11/04/2019 15:31

@rosyedith I'm due 24th July. This is my first, so everyone keeps telling me baby will be late, if early by 6 days early though it will be on our wedding anniversary and hubs birthday!

Funny how that's 3 of us all struggling with boys names!

Had my 25 week appointment with midwife today, so smiling from ear to ear at the moment from hearing the heartbeat 😍

Jummynbean · 11/04/2019 18:32

@Bunnybaubles

Wow can't believe your at uni, pregnant and with a 9 month old! What a hero X what are you studying?

Omg my baby brain is horrendous too, I keep loosing the car in car parks 😂 and I forgot a tyre fitting appointment at the garage.

I bet hospitals get that a lot with pregnancy, I'm surprised I havent missed any yet. Hope you can get a new appointment quickly! Is it pregnancy diabetes or regular every day diabetes??
I've not been given any tests....how would I know if I have it? Is it something I have to ask for?

Jummynbean · 11/04/2019 18:33

We found it really easy to find boy names we liked, girl names are hard but I think we have chosen. If it was a boy it would have been either Arthur or Felix, but as it's a girl, her name will be Luna x

BeckyButterfly · 11/04/2019 21:07

You only get tested for gestational diabetes if you are high risk @Jummynbean. I’ll be tested in a couple of weeks time because my mum is diabetic. They do test your urine at your MW appointments for high sugar levels which is an indicator of GD but other than that you wouldn’t be offered a test unless, like I say, there is a high risk factor of some sort.

Bunnybaubles · 11/04/2019 23:11

@Jummynbean I'm doing my degree in primary teaching. Its through the open University tho so im not as big a hero as you think, I work through each module from my dining table, sometimes the couch 😂 I have pregnancy related diabetes, had it when I was pregnant with DD last year and again this time. I dont have actual diabetes which is good.

We have a name sorted too. Finding out we were having a girl last year we short listed 3 names, Ava, Meadow and Emily. We used Ava last year, my mum destroyed Meadow for us by asking "isnt that like...a field" so we are left with Emily for this little one coming 😂

My SIL just had a boy, named him Spencer. His big brother is Lincoln.
