Hi ladies, thought I’d start another thread as the original one is closed and don’t think anyone has started a new one yet? I’m sure there are more ladies I should tag!

@BeckyButterfly glad to hear you got work sorted out, nice to have a boss who’s genuinely concerned about you.

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to mumsnet but due around the 10th of July. Can definitely feel baby, but its at it's most active at 2am! My bump seems to be growing in fits and starts: it pops, nothing happens for three weeks, I go to bed and it's grown again.

Starting to get excited and plan out things like furniture now.

BeckyButterfly · 23/03/2019 10:34

Hi @Bellaphant! I hope you’re well 🙂

For the past few days I’ve finally started feeling movement 😃 my husband has even felt her. I’m not sure if my placenta has shifted a bit or if she has just gotten strong but it seems to have gone from nothing to a full on penalty shoot out in there!

Mayjane5 · 24/03/2019 20:25

@Beckybutterfly that’s great to hear, I guess they must shift around as each week passes ☺️

Laura1609 · 24/03/2019 21:04

Hi all

Thought I’d join in! Due 2nd July here so approaching 26 weeks, time is flying! We started getting the nursery ready for our little boy today. Well, I say getting ready, we took down the wallpaper in the room and it confirmed to me that I never want to use wallpaper ever again! 😂 Hope everyone is feeling well. I’ve been experiencing PGP and midwife has referred me to a physio. I’m generally very hypermobile (had shoulder surgery last year due to my shoulder popping out at will because of loose ligaments) so guess I’m predisposed to PGP but think my body is telling me to slow down somewhat. x

Loujonesy · 26/03/2019 20:58

Hello all. Got consultant appointment Thursday as I don't carry full term and my one DS was small ( according to England. Wales say it was okay weight ) but as likely to have baby in England I have to see them. Don't really know what they can do tbh.
Any updates from people? Anyone had that burst of energy all the sites talk about?

GabbyGal · 26/03/2019 21:19

Hi @Loujonesy, it’s good to have the extra monitoring even if they can’t do anything, see what they say at the appointment.

I’ve had some small bursts of energy but still have bouts of exhaustion too.

We’re off on a babymoon to Lanzarote on Saturday, can’t wait!

Hi @Laura1609, welcome! A few of the other ladies have PGP too, it sounds awful. Hope you’re feeling well otherwise.

@BeckyButterfly that’s great that you can feel movements now! I’ve been the exact same, went from zero to 100 almost overnight! DP still hasn’t felt anything though, can only feel baby internally so far.

@GabbyGal I'm packing as we speak and going to hide in your suitcase 😜. Enjoy the trip. Hubby won't let me go abroad this year As he worries bless him. 🌴🌴 last trip was Mexico on honeymoon so it's was an expensive one mind... Will persuade him by end of year fingers crossed

Bellaphant · 27/03/2019 01:08

@gabbygal, enjoy the holiday! I flew to Texas and back at 21 weeks, found the main issue was needing the loo a lot on a ten hour flight!!

So many movements, but more in the evening and at night.

Got my next midwife appointment on Thursday, think I have to do the diabetes test: has anyone else done this? Also going to ask about PGP, my left hip in particular is wrecked.

BeckyButterfly · 27/03/2019 06:44

@Bellaphant I have to be tested for gestational diabetes but my appointment isn’t until the 25th of April when I’ll be 27 weeks. I have to go to the hospital for 10am, they take my blood and then give me a sugary drink. I have to stay in the hospital for two hours then they’ll test my blood again.

GabbyGal · 27/03/2019 06:58

@Loujonesy my DP is the exact opposite, he wants to go away again in May, I think he’s afraid we’ll never have a holiday again 😂

@Bellaphant I’ll be tested for GD too at 28 weeks. Unlike @BeckyButterfly I’ve been told I don’t need to fast and when I get to the hospital I’ll be given a sugary drink and they’ll take my blood an hour later. This came up on another thread and all the others ladies said they were told the same as @Beckybutterfly but I checked with the hospital yesterday to make sure I hadn’t misunderstood. I’m in Ireland so I guess it’s done differently here 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi ladies can I join the chat? I'm expecting my first wee girl on 7th July. Starting to clear the house of junk and prep the nursery. X

BeckyButterfly · 27/03/2019 07:29

@GabbyGal I wish that’s what they did here 😩 I’m not looking forward to fasting at all. I eat loads on a night! I have to stop eating befor 10:30pm I think it says then I won’t be able to eat again until after the test which will be well after 12pm since I have to wait 2 hours between blood tests. There’ll be one angry pregnant lady stomping about the hospital!! 😂

BeckyButterfly · 27/03/2019 07:30

Also, hello @ManchesterBees! Sorry I didn’t mean to ignore you there, just started on a rant about diabetes tests!! Welcome and I hope you’re well

Mayjane5 · 27/03/2019 18:04

@Beckybutterfly I have the diabetes also been told to fast from 12 at night appointment at 9 in the morning and it lasts 3 hours, I had it last time the glucose drink was quite nice a bit like capri sun it came in a pouch I think hardest part is just sitting and waiting afterwards and not eating of course.

rosyedith · 28/03/2019 07:15

Enjoy your hol @GabbyGal! I'm currently in Cyprus & it's been so relaxing!! I really needed it. X

GabbyGal · 28/03/2019 11:54

Thanks @rosyedith, you too xx

Got my diabetes test info at today's appt (and heard the heartbeat for the first time!!!) Along with a referral to pyshio. Fasting from midnight, appt at 8.30, should all be over by 11. I get to do it at my GP though, which at least is close. Glad to see that lots of people are in the same boat: apparently in America and some other European countries they just make everyone do the test!

BeckyButterfly · 29/03/2019 06:10

Just a heads up, Boohoo have 25% off all clothing including maternity wear. I’ve just ordered £68 worth of stuff 😬 just general everyday things like a pack of 3 pairs of over bump leggings for £13 I think it was. Just in case anyone was needing anything 🙂

Vicks82 · 29/03/2019 10:46

Hi ladies, am I ok to join this chat? Due 24th July with our first baby. Taken a few years to get here and had a few scares during this pregnancy. Trying to enjoy it but do find myself worrying about everything!

BeckyButterfly · 30/03/2019 10:33

Hi @Vicks82! Of course your are welcome. Sorry to hear you haven’t had an easy time up until now. I hope that the rest of this pregnancy is a little a smoother for you. I’m finding pregnancy much harder than I thought because of how worrying everything is, especially when it hasn’t been an easy road to start with. You definitely aren’t alone in that.
Also, we have the same due date 🙂 have you found out gender?

Mayjane5 · 30/03/2019 23:05

Those ladies who suffer from morning sickness any tips how to treat it? Had my dinner earlier felt a bit off and keep throwing up not sure if it’s the food or as baby higher up/ stomach bug. I didn’t eat all day as was busy maybe that was why? Feel shocking 😞

rosyedith · 31/03/2019 07:06

Hello everyone I'm 24 wks now and really struggling to sleep on my side - I have the worst back ache and only thing that eases it is sleeping on my back which I know they say not to do... any tips? TIA

Bellaphant · 31/03/2019 17:52

@mayjane, I've found its worse when I've not eaten for a while and then eat 'properly', if you know what I mean. I'm still sick (three days running here) but getting hungry does make it worse.

@rosy, a pregnancy pillow changed my life! I mainly sleep almost on my front with one side supported by it.

'baby' got me a lovely card and my mum was the first to really feel it kick consistently today, which isnt bad for mother's Day!
