@Bunnybaubles oh bless her! It's shame to hear you're still so sore ☹️. My little boy sleeps on his back but turns his head to the side, I sleep like this aswell 😂. It's crazy isn't it! My due date was on the 17th. It's crazy how a whole month has passed already! You know I am so glad you said Emily is drinking 5oz because my boy went into 5oz last week and I thought he was just being a porky 🐷. He drinks between 3-5oz every 3-4 hours. If he has 5oz he can go about 5hrs in between. He's been asking for a feed during the night now but he has a feed at about 10pm but if I fed him again at 12:30ish I think he would sleep through. Maybe I'll top him up at that time if he wants the milk haha.
How much are your babies weighing in st now?
He was born 7lb 2oz and he is now exactly 9lb 😳. She called it '3 week growth spurt'.
No?! What is a baby box! Sounds like you got some good stuff in there. I know you can't apply to get a lidl one but we don't get given anything.. x

FairyDust92 · 01/08/2019 03:57

Can not can't lol

Bunnybaubles · 06/08/2019 19:51

@FairyDust92 the baby box is a Gov initiative, must just be Scottish Gov that do it, I wasnt sure. It's full of nappies, clothes, baby toiletries, a good quality baby thermometer, toys, books and a wrap sling. All the clothes are lovely and good quality too. Even the box is safe to be used as a cot (it's a big box lol). If Liddle do them too I definitely recommend getting one!
Emily was 6lb 4 when she was born, dropped down to 5lb 9 in hospital and is now 8lb 5!! She loves her milk and usually takes 4 - 6oz. She is still tiny tho, proper skinny wee thing! She must just have heavy bones 🤷‍♀️😂 She is still a great sleeper but mostly wakes once through the night which isnt too bad. My oldest used to wake up through the night every 30 minutes... till he was 4 years old!! Still cant believe Emily is nearly 5 weeks old, its passed so quickly.
At least I'm finally starting to feel a bit better after my section. I wont be running any time soon but it's less sore now, unless I overdo things. Blood marina coil came out tho 😂 I have an appointment to have another put in and been given the mini pill to cover me just now. Doctor asked me if I want to be steralised 😱

FairyDust92 · 06/08/2019 20:49

@Bunnybaubles OMG! Why would they just ask that?! 😂 Awh bless her!! My boy was 7lb 2oz and at his weighing last Wednesday he was 9lb 😳. He is small but has little hamster cheeks ☺️. Glad you're feeling better though! That box sounds amazing, I want one! 😂. Sounds awful writing it but I've never been on the pill or had the coil always just used condoms. I was thinking about the pill but don't think I will. I know! How are our babies nearly 5 weeks?! I saw a 3 month old last week and he was MASSIVE I thought he was 6 months but I don't know if it was because my boy was next to him he looked giant bless him 😂 x

rosyedith · 07/08/2019 02:09

Hello! My little boy was 9lb born now 9lb 2 at nearly 3 weeks old. Finally starting to feel like me again!! Can we just be real for a min? This shit is hard!! I'm exhausted and emotional! Anyway, I wanted to know what your babies are feeding like... mine is now taking 3-4 oz every 3 hours but I'm feeding on demand so it differs slightly. I'm wondering if this is too much as the midwives told me he only needs 1oz every 4 hours ? Surely that can't be right especially as he is so big...

Hope your all doing well. I'm guessing all the July babies are here now 🙌

FairyDust92 · 07/08/2019 03:10

@rosyedith glad you're starting to feel better and your little boy is doing well ☺️. 1oz every 4 hours! My boy took that the first day he was born but quickly increased by day two. My little boy is 4 weeks and takes 4-5oz every 3-4 hours can go longer through out the night, if he gets fed at 12/1ish he will sleep through until 6-8am. He was 7lb 2 when he was born but last weigh in last week he was 9lb and they said 4-5oz is normal for 4 weeks 😕 x

Bunnybaubles · 07/08/2019 04:48

@FairyDust92 I know!! I was speechless when the doctor asked if I wanted to be steralised 😂 Doesnt sound bad btw about you only using condoms, if that works for you it's great 😊 I had the marina coil years ago and had no periods for 5 years, I want that again. Lol well seeing we all have new babies - all of us up at this time in the morning! I've just given Emily her night feed, that'll be her till morning now.

@rosyedith I feed on demand too, I never wake Emily to feed her, just wait till she wants fed. She's anything between 4 to 6oz every 3.5 to 6 hours and she weighs 8lb 5 now. I do try and make her last feed around 11pm tho, and she'll wake once through the night wanting a bottle.
I have never heard of a 3 week old needing 1 oz!! Fairydust92 is right, that's usually what newborns start at for the first couple of days but quickly increases! Glad you're not listening to your midwife 😂
It is hard tho! I've been really emotional too, crying and getting upset and angry at stupid little things. I was worried recently that it might be PND brought on by the traumatic birth, think my HV was thinking the same, she's never directly said it but has mentioned how upset I keep getting. But I've been feeling better recently so it's probably just the baby blue which is completely normal! Our hormones are still all over the place so dont worry. You are allowed to feel exhausted and emotional 💗 The baby months are definitely the hardest but it's such a tiny phase which is over so fast. Before you know it your lo will be starting school 😱

FairyDust92 · 07/08/2019 11:41

@Bunnybaubles that doctor had some cheek! 😂 no periods for 5 years!!! Sign me up 😂. I stupidly fell asleep before my LO feed! He was due around half 11-12 but woke up at 2:30 like where's my bottle?! 🤨. Then back up at 6. I've had some stern words with my partner EVERY morning when he gets up he starts talking to our boy WHY HE IS NOT AWAKE! 😡

FairyDust92 · 07/08/2019 11:42

Should add that's what wakes my LO! 😡

Bunnybaubles · 07/08/2019 21:17

@FairyDust92 aww I've done that a few times too when I've been exhausted, gone to bed and accepted lo will be up soon for the feed I couldnt stay awake for lol. You're wee boy sleeps better than my wee girl, she ALWAYS wakes every 4 hours to be fed!! Not a chunky monkey but loves her grub like her mummy Blush
Yeh I couldn't believe my ears when the doctor suggested I get steralised! I've only just turned 38. And I've been with my not so new DP for 7 years and successfully never fell pregnant until planning to have our 2 babies. I could understand if there were several accidents / unwanted in that time but there was just our 2 planned daughters 😂
Oooooft I'd be furious too if my DP woke my babies in the morning. You really need to do it back to him so he sees what it's like!! I have the 1 year old in her cot and my new wee girl in her moses basket in my room so DP knows it's more than his life is worth to make a noise 😂😂

FairyDust92 · 07/08/2019 21:44

@Bunnybaubles Hahaha I bet he doesn't dare wake them 😂. How are you finding having a 1 year old and a new baby? I only have my LO but always admire people who have 2 under 2! Oh don't you worry I do, it was only Saturday my boy woke at 5am so I got my partner up 😉. At 38 that's ridiculous to even suggest that! I've been with my partner 7 years ☺️ known him since we were 11!! 😂. Midwife weighed my boy today he is 9lb 14!!! He was only 9lb exactly one week ago! The midwife did say his weight might stay the same for a while, I thought yeah right! I have a chunky monkey! I'm just hoping he sleeps like this all the time! I know he's only 4 weeks but I think he is aware of our little routine now. I know it might be early but I'm sure he is getting used to it 😂. I know it's early to say but will you have another do you think or was your little girl your last x

Bunnybaubles · 07/08/2019 22:37

@FairyDust92 I would have another, my DP really wants a boy. Unfortunately my genetic disorder which means I have high blood pressure, risk of early strokes and premature heart attacks has made my DP wary. Didn't help that my labour / birth was a bit of a car crash 😂 He says we are done, but then says he wonders if my miscarriage 3 years ago was our little boy and comes out with things like 'if circumstances change we may try again.
Aww you're wee man will defo recognise his routine. I chatted to my 1 year old all the time from the moment she was born... silly things like explaining everything to her that I was doing and I noticed when she was 2 months she would get excited at the word bib!!!
It is more challenging a newborn and a 1yo but it's not as hard as I thought it would be. Once I feed and change Emily she sleeps giving me 4 or 5 hours to give my 1 year old lots of cuddles and attention. Ava (my 1 yo) is still a bit jealous of her little sister but I think that's because I had to stay in hospital with complications which she associates with her wee sister. That'll pass tho when Emily is old enough for her to play with 😊
How are you enjoying motherhood? Do you think you'll have another? X

FairyDust92 · 07/08/2019 22:54

@Bunnybaubles oh no, that's sounds scary! ☹️. Sorry to hear you had a miscarriage. Maybe your loss was a little boy. Do you have any boys? I've always wondered you know if some people can't carry a gender.. yeah same I talk to him all the time, well most of the time through out the day it's just us two otherwise I'll be talking to myself! Oh really, shame to hear it was like a car crash ☹️. Well our routine got disturbed tonight, partner went to change his bum at 10 and was talking to him which has kept him up. I swear he's asking for a slap 👋🏼 😂. It's fine though because I've swapped sides of the beds with him and now he has to try and get him back to sleep 😂. Yes I would like another not sure when though! I'd probably like a year-2 years in between maybe. Oh bless her, yes of course it will pass she's still a baby herself and just confused haha. That's nice that your LO sleeps 4-5hrs meaning you can have time with your other LO 🥰 x

Squeakybubbles26 · 08/08/2019 02:19

Hey all, it's been lovely catching up and reading how everyone's LO's are getting on!
We've finally turned a corner and the nighttime sleep has improved! We were waking every 3 hours (which meant I only had a couple of hours sleep in between) but now we're going longer at the start of the evening 4-5 hours and then 3-4 after the next feed! All heading in the right direction! I forgot how much newborns sleep tho! DD1 behaviour has improved loads as well, the first couple of weeks were very testing but since week 2 we've turned a corner and thank god back to her old usual self (90% of the time) it's like having a mini mummy as she loves to help her baby sister (sometimes too much)! How's everyone's LO with feeding/wind issues? We've had a few problems :( tried infacol which worked well the first week but this week (our 2nd week) doesn't seem as helpful :( we're on formula feed 100% of the time now so I know bottle feeding can result to more wind issues just hate seeing her in discomfort :(

FairyDust92 · 08/08/2019 06:26

@Squeakybubbles26 glad to hear the night time has improved for you and your little girl is back to herself! 🙂. Have you tried using two syringe things of the infacol? My little boy is also FF we use cow and gate he had a little wind problem but he just farts all the time now, even more embarrassing when we're out in public and he does it really loud looks like we did it! Bless her though it's not nice to see and it looks so painful doesn't it. Have you tried changing formula x

FairyDust92 · 08/08/2019 06:52

@Squeakybubbles26 sorry forgot to add we use the tommee Tillie anti colic bottles which seem to be helping x

FairyDust92 · 08/08/2019 06:53

Tippie * 🧐

rosyedith · 08/08/2019 09:53

@FairyDust92 @Bunnybaubles well you've both made me feel loads better so thank you! 😊 X

Squeakybubbles26 · 08/08/2019 13:36

@FairyDust92 I didn't increase the infacol as she wasn't best pleased taking it anyways! However I've introduced gripe water this morning so hopefully that'll help or this stage will pass quickly! We're currently using aptamil (normal one), if it continues May try the comfort version (we used this with DD1 who struggled with wind a lot worse than this! As well as we use the dr browns bottles! I really need to get LO weighed but around here baby clinics don't run as often as they used to! Has anyone been watching that Emma Willis delivery babies programme? I sob my heart out watching it! Love the miracle of newborns and what mothers and fathers encounter! Just makes me sad we won't be doing it again (I don't want anymore - but that means that's it)! x

FairyDust92 · 08/08/2019 15:36

@Squeakybubbles26 oh bless I hope the gripe water works for her! Tell me about the baby clinics nearly every clinic here has shut down aswell! Nearest ones are a 15 min drive, not bad but there used to be 2 where I live and 3 if you want to count the doctors. Got my boy weighed yesterday he's 9lb 14oz that was my last appointment with my midwife, felt strange being signed off! 😂 he was only 9lb a week ago though 🐷. No haven't seen that programme, what channel is it on? X

Squeakybubbles26 · 08/08/2019 16:55

@FairyDust92 you were still seeing the midwife, we got signed off 2 weeks ago (thank god) I felt like they were to invasive and liked expressing their opinions a bit to much - actually the health visitors are worse! The last time she was weighed she was 7.03 but that was like just over 2 weeks ago! That baby prog is on W! It's so interesting, I don't mind watching them now I don't have to go through birth hahaha!

Squeakybubbles26 · 08/08/2019 16:56

@FairyDust92 forgot to add, at least you know he's eating well and there's not problems with food! How many feeds does he have a day?x

FairyDust92 · 08/08/2019 17:18

@Squeakybubbles26 haha yeah now you've given birth it's fine 😂. Oh thank you I'll have a look for it! Yeah she was on holiday I think and I like to stick to her as I really liked her as a midwife. Had a few appointments in between for his jaundice with a maternity support worker. I've been really lucky with my midwife and health visitor I really like them both ☺️. If I get pregnant again I'd defo ask for those two again. Got my HV on Monday my second visit this will be. They're both very encouraging and don't force things on you and if you think a certain way they actually encoourage you not to be pushed around by other HCP's, rare I know 😂. He has between 7-8 bottles a day. How many does your LO have? X

Squeakybubbles26 · 08/08/2019 17:42

@FairyDust92 oh they sound nice, our HV was very patronising, she was telling us how to cool the room down if it was hot (like we didn't already know/or hadn't tried 😂)! We just done the nod and smile! It's not like we haven't done it before (raise a child that is lol)! Aw bless did your LO have jaundice too? Thankfully DD did clear up but poor thing needed a few blood tests as she was under 38 weeks or something! It's mad I actually could still be pregnant now (glad I'm not she would of been a 10lb baby for sure!!!)! Your LO does like his food doesn't he, DD has about 6 - 7 bottles.
