Hi ladies, thought I’d start another thread as the original one is closed and don’t think anyone has started a new one yet? I’m sure there are more ladies I should tag!

@Squeakybubbles26 yesterday was the first time I used formula for most of the feeds and never expressed either. I was in agony all day and had to go to the doctors, my section wound has opened a little at the edges and was weeping so I got antibiotics. I couldn't even hold my baby last night I was on my knees in tears with the pain!
Woke up this morning feeling much better. Think I'm just going to stick with bottles tho, that way my man can help while I laze about recover Grin

@EPSpartyof3 I had pink spotting and cramps before 12 weeks too. It can be normal but if you're worried you should contact your midwife or day assessment. I agree tho it is such a stressful time. It's all worth it when you see your little bean on the 12 week scan tho wriggling their little arms and legs 😊 I find pregnancy goes by quicker once you start all your midwife and scan appointments.

rosyedith · 20/07/2019 22:55

Update: my little boy was born this morning! Everything went so smoothly and the midwives were just amazing... the pain was unbelievable! Never again! 😂

FairyDust92 · 20/07/2019 23:17

@rosyedith congratulations!! 🥰

Squeakybubbles26 · 20/07/2019 23:31

@rosyedith congratulations! Enjoy the newborn snuggles !xx

Bellaphant · 20/07/2019 23:33

Hi all!

Went for a second sweep Wednesday lunchtime - she told us to walk, so I took her a little literally and did 5km with my partner. Waters broke at 5, was having three contractions every ten minutes that were off the scale by 7pm. Sadly, as baby was massive (as predicted) and in the wrong place, we made no progress through 24 hours of labour - dilation actually went backwards at one point because things were getting so swollen! Because he was in the wrong place, he opened his bowels inside and we were monitored all the time - they broke more of my waters for me, which was an experience!!! But around 24 hours in me and him got a bit sick so suddenly got rushed to an emergency c section! Horrible horrible couple of hours but he's great, and we got discharged this afternoon. Feeling really greatful to the hood staff but slightly traumatised by the process!!!

FairyDust92 · 21/07/2019 02:45

@Bellaphant congratulations on your little boy 🥰. Sounds like you had a rough ride 😕. Glad you and baby are doing okay x

EPSpartyof3 · 21/07/2019 04:41

@FairyDust92 awww congrats! So happy for you!! That is wonderful !!! Happy healthy baby! Yes it is.. beyond excited but just so nervous about everything and this week I spotted very little bit and everything is just scary I know it’s out of my control - but why is everything so nerve wrecking !! How many do you have ?

EPSpartyof3 · 21/07/2019 04:43

@rosyedith congrats!! So happy for you! Such a blessing 💗

EPSpartyof3 · 21/07/2019 04:44

@Bunnybaubles thank you so much it helpful when others experience what I am- always nervous - yes I just want to jump to 3 months for a healthy little miracle peanut 😍

FairyDust92 · 21/07/2019 13:58

@EPSpartyof3 just the one at the moment ☺️

FairyDust92 · 24/07/2019 20:03

Anyone's baby's irritable in this heat today?

FairyDust92 · 24/07/2019 20:15

Oops posted too soon!
I've just been putting my boy in his vest with his Swaddle blanket as he was getting way to warm in a babygrow and that was without a vest 😕

EPSpartyof3 · 24/07/2019 20:27

Went today for ultrasound at 8 weeks no HB
They are giving me medicine to miscarry it
I am heartbroken 😭

Bunnybaubles · 24/07/2019 21:13

@EPSpartyof3 I'm so sorry to hear that. I miscarried too back in 2016, it is so so heartbreaking. I hope you have good support from family and friends. Sending you hugs Flowers

@FairyDust92 I've been doing the same with my wee girl, best and swaddled. Yesterday was so hot tho she was just lying with a nappy on.
I have to say I am blessed tho! All she does is sleep! Shes 3 weeks old tomorrow and already slept right through the night a few times. I get more sleep now than I did when I was pregnant 😂

FairyDust92 · 24/07/2019 21:44

@EPSpartyof3 so sorry, that's heartbreaking. Take each day as it comes xx

@Bunnybaubles it's so hard because I worry he will be cold! It's easier to warm up than cool down I suppose! Ohh bless her! Same! My boy would sleep through the night but I wake him for his feeds. HV said I don't have to but I'm not ready to not do it yet... 😂! He's such a content boy but was very irritable today bless him! As he is FF the NHS website suggested giving some water on hot days, on other websites suggested you shouldn't. But I gave him some sterile water and he did calm down... thought it was best to follow NHS website but now not sure if I did the right thing. I wouldn't just give him water if it wasn't hot 😕

EPSpartyof3 · 25/07/2019 00:07

@Bunnybaubles @FairyDust92 it’s heartbreaking I just hope and pray that it will happen again guess my body knows how to make a baby so that’s good .. how long did both of you get pregnant after that?

FairyDust92 · 25/07/2019 03:22

@EPSpartyof3 I hope for you too that you'll have no other problems next time xx

EPSpartyof3 · 25/07/2019 04:34

@FairyDust92 thank you I hope and pray also 🙏🏻❤️ This is heart wrenching

Bunnybaubles · 25/07/2019 09:53

@EPSpartyof3 We didnt ttc until a tear later after miscarrying. But we did fall pregnant first month we tried and have since had 2 beautiful daughters. We still talk about the miscarriage tho and wonder if it was a little boy we lost. I was 10 weeks when it happened.
You are right tho, your body knows how to make a baby. Hopefully you wont have long to wait before you're back with good news x

@FairyDust92 you did the right thing giving him water so dont worry. I did the same for my wee girl last year, she was born right in the middle of last years heatwave!
The only issue with water is if you give too much and they then dont want their milk, but an ounce here or there when it's so hot is fine!
I might be inclined to agree with your HV and not wake through the night. Sounds like your wee boy has a great sleep routine but you can risk changing his body clock to think he should be awake through the night. I made that mistake tears ago with my 19 year old. She was a great sleeper but I got her in the habit of waking in the middle of the night for food. Took me ages to break the habit I caused 🙈 That's why I let Emily sleep. When she starts to feel hungry she always wakes up herself and let's me know, and I get a good sleep too Grin

FairyDust92 · 25/07/2019 11:00

@Bunnybaubles thanks! Yeah I only put 2oz of water and he doesn't even drink that much. Defo not off his food the little porker 😂 he was feeding every 2hrs yesterday which isn't like him lol. Omg never thought of that! It's so hard with your first you think you're doing the best thing then can cause more problems for yourself. Thanks for the tips! Maybe I won't wake him then i defo don't want those problems! 😂 that's a nice age gap between your children. How is Emily getting on?

rosyedith · 27/07/2019 18:44

How is everyone?? 7 days postpartum for me and I'm extremely sore !! Also aching everywhere like period pains! Trying to catch up on sleep in the day as it's impossible at night, my baba is very needy 😂 xx

FairyDust92 · 27/07/2019 19:30

@rosyedith oh bless you! Did you have a c section? You must be a walking zombie 😂. I'm doing okay my little boy is 3 weeks, very lucky he sleeps through the night at the moment 🤞🏼. Stopped bleeding now aswell which is nice! I'm now not raiding the cupboard every hour 😂 x

Loujonesy · 27/07/2019 21:35

How is everyone getting on? Olivia is a very hungry baby and we are doing combination feeding. She is allowing me to sleep a little at nights so can't complain. Her due date is tomorrow so it's crazy to think she is 4 weeks old on Monday. Have photo shoot booked for Monday. X

Squeakybubbles26 · 28/07/2019 01:35

@rosyedith the pains can take a little while to heel, with my first I couldn't sit down for 2 weeks (she needed forceps and I need a lot of stitches)! Continue to take paracetamol/codine if your hurting as everyone told me giving birth is like your body running a marathon it needs time to recover. I experienced more period pains this time round, apparently it's related to your uterus shrinking or something?

@Loujonesy we're doing well thanks, thankfully DD2 has just slotted right in. Like yourself we had to do combo feeding .. well not had to .. i chose to as I felt she was constantly at my boob all night and I needed sleep! But in the end I just expressed and formula fed to keep up with how much she was having! However I think I'll just go to formula feeding by the end of this week (she'll be 3 weeks then) as I'll find it easier and formula feels her for longer! I keep saying that DD isn't meant to be due til Tuesday! Glad I get to spend longer of my mat leave with her!x

Bunnybaubles · 01/08/2019 03:21

So lovely reading about all the baby updates!
@FairyDust92 Emily is doing great. Her due date was the 23rd July, pretty strange her being 3 weeks old by then. She is 4 weeks old today! Brilliant to see your little man is sleeping right through. Emily sometimes wakes once through the night for a bottle but that's cause she is a pie!! 4 weeks old and guzzling 5oz!! She's still a brilliant sleeper tho, but because of that I'm having to make sure I change her sleeping position alot so she doesnt get a flat head lol.

@Squeakybubbles26 are you referring to the after pains? They are a nightmare!! Yeh they are connected to your uterus contracting and can be set off just by hearing your baby cry! Unfortunately they get worse the more babies you have. Emily was my 4th and when they brought her to me after I woke for the first time in the high dependency unit it set off the most horrific contractions and was given oramorph. I also switched from BF to combination to FF full time now. So much easier and I get between 4 - 6 hours peace between feeds rather than constantly BF or expressing.

I'm still really sore from the c-section, had to get antibiotics for my wound and some topical cream. Still hurts so much, especially when I try a day out at the shops! I'm looking forward to healing so I can wear normal clothes again!! Looking forward to driving again too!

Did any of you get a baby box? Or are they a Scottish thing only? Got loads of amazing stuff in it including a wrap sling which I'm still trying to figure out how to use 😂
