Hi ladies, thought I’d start another thread as the original one is closed and don’t think anyone has started a new one yet? I’m sure there are more ladies I should tag!

@Bellaphant your right. They died down in the end. 🙁 I'm sore now too. Looks like induction it is!! X

Squeakybubbles26 · 18/07/2019 20:08

Any news on any more babies :) x

rosyedith · 18/07/2019 20:35

Was induced this morning at 6am with a pessary. Nothing has happened since. The odd contraction. DP now gone home until tomorrow morning. Can't see anything happening tonight 😞 such a long process! I'm exhausted as contractions have been keeping me awake for the past few nights. Really hope I sleep well tonight and something happens tomorrow before I lose the will to live! Wish I'd have opted for a section now as I've also just been told TODAY that I have had GD my whole pregnancy hence why my baby is weighing over 9lbs at 38 weeks! Does anyone have any positive induction or big baby stories to get me through this agony?

FairyDust92 · 18/07/2019 20:39

@rosyedith that's not good that they have only just picked up on GD!!! I had GD and got induced at 38 weeks. Failed round but worked on 2nd round with 2nd pessary. My cervix just wasn't opening 🥵. Are you on your 3rd pessary now I take it as your first was at 6am? It seems like a long process but you'll get there! Ask for morphine to help you sleep x

rosyedith · 18/07/2019 20:53

@FairyDust92 just had one pessary at 6am, they won't examine me now until 7am tomorrow 😞 will they give me morphine? I didn't realise that was an option before I was in labour? X

FairyDust92 · 18/07/2019 21:38

@rosyedith really! I had a tablet every 6 hours... I thought that's how induction worked! Why have they only given you one tablet and checking in 24hrs?! Well I had oramorph as did other ladies in the induction ward. If you're having pain they should offer it. They will probably offer paracetamol first... x

rosyedith · 18/07/2019 23:36

@FairyDust92 no idea I guess that's just the way it's done here!? Just wanna get on the drip to be honest! I'm so tired & fed up. Just had some codine I hope that helps me sleep xx

Squeakybubbles26 · 18/07/2019 23:59

@rosyedith I had the 24 hour pessary and only felt horrible little cramps/uncomfortable pains that they thought was the pessary itself. However they put a monitor on me to check if it was contractions and it was but they weren't consistent enough! However 16 hours after the pessary was inserted by waters broke and 45 mins later DD was here! Mind you when my waters broke they didn't believe I was contracting, and offered me codine and paracetamol then checked me and I was 6cm... and before long I was trying to push! Thank god they gave me gas and air after that! Is this your first pregnancy? It was my 2nd so don't know if that's why she was so quick!

rosyedith · 19/07/2019 00:04

@Squeakybubbles26 thanks for a positive story!! I am currently 18 hours in and like you said feeling little contractions (first baby so what i assume are little) just hoping I get a good night sleep and then I'll be ready to labour tomorrow 🤞🏼🤞🏼

FairyDust92 · 19/07/2019 08:09

@rosyedith hope you got some sleep. Any progress? X

rosyedith · 19/07/2019 08:23

@FairyDust92 I got about 3 hours ☹️ no progress so just had another pessary this morning. Honestly the things we have to go through. All I can say is I will never be induced again!!

FairyDust92 · 19/07/2019 08:49

@rosyedith oh I hope things speed up for you now. Oh really? Don't let it get you down. It's annoying waiting. I went from the weds-sat on 6hr pessarys until it finally started to happen. Just think soon you will have your little bubba ☺️. Are you dilated yet x

qj17 · 19/07/2019 10:12

I got my waters broken 6 hours after the second pessary and baby was born 2 hours later so don't lose faith!

Bunnybaubles · 19/07/2019 10:23

Registered the birth yesterday, went with Emily 😊 That's her now 2 weeks old!

@Squeakybubbles26 sorry I've been meaning to reply for ages but couldn't get a minute to myself!! My nipples got really sore too when I first started breastfeeding. Midwives recommended Lanolin. Stuff is amazing, never got dry or cracked nipples after using it and it's safe for baby to feed after applying too.
Tbh tho for the past week I've been breast feeding through the day and giving formula at night. She only wakes once around 4am to get fed then away back to sleep till 8 or 9am. Think I'm going to switch to formula full time tho, trying to clusterfeed for 3 hours with a 1 year old crying for attention just isn't working.
I also introduced a dummy after 1 week despite advice saying not to. Not had any nipple confusion, Emily definitely knows what the boob is for 😂

Goodluck @rosyedith I really hope today is the day for you! You must be exhausted! Be glad you never opted for a section tho, I'm still in agony and I think wound has started to open up a little so stings like hell 😭 I cant drive for another month either. It's kinda spoilt things a little, 2 weeks in and I still need help getting out of bed and walking is a nightmare! I'd rather have a normal birth and suffer the ring of fire for an hour than this pain 😂

@Bellaphant how are you getting on?

rosyedith · 19/07/2019 10:36

@FairyDust92 dilated 1cm still at 7am 😒!! @qj17 thank you for the positivity! I really hope this one works I don't think my vagina can take anymore prodding 🙈 @Bunnybaubles thank you that makes me feel better as I was about to demand a c section if this one failed too 🙁 x

HayleyHaystack · 19/07/2019 11:42

My baby boy was born on Sunday 14th Bear 11 days over! Beat the induction by 24 hours. Labour was hell until I had an epidural so I’m left with good memories of it all! 7lbs 10oz. He’s perfection.

Bunnybaubles · 19/07/2019 12:01

Congratulations @HayleyHaystack 🥳 Aww this is the best bit of our group, all the wee babbas arriving 😃 x

Squeakybubbles26 · 19/07/2019 17:54

@Bunnybaubles I tried that lasinoh nipple cream but it didn't make much difference, think LO latch is slightly off! So I'm expressing and formula feeding. Clusterfeeding didn't help here either felt like I was constantly whipping the boob out! However as long as they are fed I say!

@rosyedith hopefully you've progressed and baby is on their way :)

Congratulations @HayleyHaystack 😊

Bunnybaubles · 19/07/2019 19:34

@Squeakybubbles26 That's a pity the cream never worked. Is your lo only latching onto your nipple rather than most of the areola? That can cause your nipples to become very painful. I found after getting Emily to latch onto the surrounding areola mine only hurts for a few minutes then the pain goes away. But I totally sympathise with the cluster feeding! 4 and a half hours one night!!
What are you using to express? I bought a madela electric pump last year after I had Ava, midwife recommended it and it's been ok so far. Mothercare were doing a half price sale on them recently.

Squeakybubbles26 · 19/07/2019 19:59

@Bunnybaubles yeh I think she gets more of the nipple, and to be fair I grinned and bared it for a few days but the pain at every feed and then the frustration from DD that she can't get a good feed it just wasn't working! I've got the manual Madela pump which works well, i won't express forever but will be happy to continue for as long as possible! Only managed 2 weeks with DD1! Do you express at all now?x

EPSpartyof3 · 19/07/2019 20:16

Has anyone else been so so so nervous before the 12 week mark
I am 7 weeks 4 days - at 6 weeks they saw a heartbeat and - HCG was good progesterone little low at 8.9 they put me on pills everything has been good - I have slight spotting brownish once in a while or when I wipe - and once it was brownish pink - is this normal ? cramping once in a while nothing out of the ordinary - anyone been thru this? do the days go by so slow? ugh I try to be positive and happy always nervous

FairyDust92 · 19/07/2019 21:27

@EPSpartyof3 yes the nerves don't go away through out the whole of pregnancy! Always something to worry about or overthink about, it's as if we don't have enough going on 😂. If you're worried about anything contact your midwife or EPU. I'm not sure what discharge is normal so best to get checked out. How're you feeling other than the discharge and nerves? X

FairyDust92 · 19/07/2019 21:28

@rosyedith hoping things progress for you x

EPSpartyof3 · 20/07/2019 03:47

@FairyDust92 okay I will - it honestly doesn’t seem like too much at all it’s like nothing but I’m worried all the time ! I’m pretty good pretty emotional happy crying lol I have a shorter fuse at the moment idk why! I have always been sensitive but it’s all heightened ! Nauseous sometimes eating more overall good slight back pain and headaches but all worth it ! How along are you ?

FairyDust92 · 20/07/2019 10:24

@EPSpartyof3 good. Aww bless you. Everything is heightened isn't it 😂. Oh I have a short fuse anyway 😂. I had my little boy 2 weeks ago today 😊. Is this your first? X
