Hi ladies, thought I’d start another thread as the original one is closed and don’t think anyone has started a new one yet? I’m sure there are more ladies I should tag!

Sudocrem if it feels like a skin thing? You may've just got sweaty and irritated the skin, I've been so sweaty in bed the last two weeks.

qj17 · 03/06/2019 18:47

@rosyedith I feel
Similar to you! My ribs under my boobs are absolutely killing me too but I just feel like my big boobs coupled with my high bump is killing me!

Mayjane5 · 05/06/2019 19:04

Is anyone opting for a c section? I had one previously and need to decide soon whether too or not. Obviously pros and cons for both ways, last one was an emergency c section after a long induction so presuming it will be different this time as I won’t be so tired etc

rosyedith · 07/06/2019 19:29

@Mayjane5 my midwife hasn't even asked me yet and I'm 34 weeks ?

Mayjane5 · 07/06/2019 20:52

@rosyedith did you have one previously? I think I am booked in at 36 weeks with the doctor at the hospital to make a decision then they ran through briefly my options at my first scan I think it was.

PixieDust26 · 08/06/2019 08:47

Sorry to jump in just reading a few comments. Is it normal to not have your birth plan discussed yet?! I'm 34 weeks and midwife said she will discuss it at 36 week appt 😳. If I don't go into labour on my own I think I'm being induced around 38/39 weeks 😳

Mayjane5 · 08/06/2019 10:11

@PixieDust26 I think you discuss it at 36 week appointment, if you have some idea of what you want to do or not do that’s ok, I think most plans change anyway on the day

PixieDust26 · 08/06/2019 10:16

Thank you @mayjane5
Tbh I don't really have a birth plan, I'd like to have VB. Atm I'm feeling pretty relaxed about the birth as I can't stress about something I can't control 😂 which is very surprising as I'm usually a stress head and a worrier!

Mayjane5 · 08/06/2019 10:24

@PixieDust26 exactly no point in getting worked up about it, I think just an idea of maybe what drugs you want to use is a start or work out comfortable positions to labour, with my first I focused on breathing techniques but ended up with an emergency section anyway. I originally wanted a water birth but that went straight out the window ☺️

Bellaphant · 09/06/2019 06:38

Went into the midwife assessment centre last night, they were fairly nice but seemed busy with other things: had to wait two hours to chat to a Dr to go home! Has anyone been hooked up to the monitors?

qj17 · 09/06/2019 08:53

@Bellaphant yeah I got hooked up for an hour this week after going in with severe rib pain. They prescribed me coedine which I don't really want to take.

Mayjane5 · 09/06/2019 09:35

@Bellaphant I think it’s just pot luck when you go in if you can get seen quickly or not. Are you ok now? How come you went in?

Bellaphant · 09/06/2019 09:41

Baby just super quiet this week, but I think she's moved down a lot? Had a few dizzy spells and then got a lot of pain yesterday: think I'm just tired and trying to do too much/not resting and eating enough? Going for a scan in the week but they basically said it's just a box ticking exercise, which is fine! Got told to rest, eat a bit more and take painkillers a lot! Glad I went in though, I think the more anxious I got the worse I felt!

The machine seemed to say my uterus was pretty consistently contracting, which also explains why I'm tired and sore!

Vicks82 · 09/06/2019 13:01

Just catching up on everyone's posts, not felt very well this week with headaches and nausea, thought I'd got away without that coming back!
We haven't done a birth plan yet, I asked midwife a couple of appointments ago and she said we wouldn't even think about it until 34 weeks (next week now) but I could start writing thoughts down. We had our first NCT class yesterday and I feel like I have an idea of what I want now, although trying to not be too set on it in case things have to change.
I went in for monitoring after baby was very quiet last week (this was the 2nd time I'd been in for this), I had to wait 2 hours too until I saw someone but all was ok after being hooked up for an hour.

HayleyHaystack · 09/06/2019 16:37

For those talking birth plans, I’ll be 37 weeks on Weds and no discussion of birth plan at all. Apparently we will discuss it at my 38 week appointment. First baby so nothing to compare too but seems fairly late...
I’ve got a growth scan Tuesday. This weekend has been lots of shooting pains down there which has been quite horrendous at times. Hoping that means it’s getting into position. Last app I was ‘back to back’ after being breech so fingers crossed.

Bunnybaubles · 10/06/2019 09:05

@Mayjane5 I don't want a c-section but my last growth scan suggests I'm going to have a big baby, bloody GD 🤨 Need to see what my next growth scan shows, plus I measured 40weeks last week, I was only 33 weeks 🙈

@Bellaphant I've been hooked up a few times. Twice for reduced movements followed by a scan. I also got hooked up last week because they couldn't find a heartbeat with the doppler.

I'm 33+6 now, my 2 consultants I see started discussing my birth plan options about a month ago. Initially they wanted me to get to 38 weeks before inducing me, but after my recent bouts of high blood pressure and the growth scan measurements it's unlikely I'll reach that far. That's all my birth plan consists of.

OMG baby could be here in the next 2 or 3 weeks 😱😱😱 Not long to go till we meet our little babies 😍

Anyone else constantly showing protein in their urine? I've had blood tests to check for pre-eclampsia 3 times and urine samples sent off to check for infections but always clear.

Bunnybaubles · 10/06/2019 09:10

@HayleyHaystack I've been getting those shooting pains. Its baby's head hitting your cervix, I also get bad cramps and a really heavy feeling when she pushes herself down. I think she got an arm or something stuck last week, i was in agony for 4 days until she wiggled free!

Bellaphant · 10/06/2019 09:21

@bunnybaubles, I thought our baby was measuring big at consistently a week and a bit ahead, but that's insane! You might have a June baby! The hospital said they'd call me today to arrange a scan for reassurance.

The low down pains are so crazy, I nearly ended up falling over the other day when a really big one hit - my body tried to curl over the pain and couldn't!

Has anyone else been told what /5 they are engaged?

Bunnybaubles · 10/06/2019 11:20

@Bellaphant I was only measuring between 1 and 2 weeks ahead until Friday last week 🙈 Midwife has never told me how many /5's down baby is. I see the consultants on Thursday, I'll ask then.

I really don't want to get induced earlier than 37 weeks this time tho to avoid staying on the ward for a week. Its bloody awful!

Midwives just throw your curtain back, usually while your boobs are out, right in front of everybody's visitors!! Have you been hooked up to an electrical breast pump? Imagine a cow being milked, noises and all and you are suddenly forced on display in front of a dozen daddy's, uncles, grandads etc who automatically turn to see what that noise is 😳

That's good the hospital are sorting a reassurance scan for you. I asked at my 32 week growth scan if my baby had hair. Turns out she does, and they gave me a pic of her side profile showing her hair floating in the water, plus a pic of her footprint 🥰 Depends who does your scan tho, some of them give you nothing!

Bunnybaubles · 12/06/2019 04:08

Spent the night in triage, now being admitted to the wards. Dr thinks I have the start of pre-eclampsia and told me consultants want to speak to me tomorrow to arrange when to get baby out! Here we go again 😩

Mayjane5 · 12/06/2019 12:54

@Bunnybaubles oh no hope you are both ok, does that mean immediate delivery? How far are you again? Would it be an induction? Maybe it will go better than last time xx

Bellaphant · 12/06/2019 13:04

@bunnybaubles, hope everything is okay, I didn't mean to jinx you by saying you'd have baby in June!!

Going in for my scan tomorrow, got a midwife appt in the am, physio at lunch and scan at 5! Going away for the weekend on Friday, after visiting the sling library! Busy busy

PixieDust26 · 12/06/2019 19:59

Got told today I'm being induced at 38 weeks, thats only 3 weeks for me. I feel like maybe I shouldn't be as calm as I am?
This is first baby so defo shouldn't be this calm 😂😂 I don't know what's to come with the pain! 😳

Mayjane5 · 12/06/2019 20:39

@Bellaphant what is the scan for? I have next appointment on Monday so will see how I measure then. @PixieDust26 that’s good to be so calm I point in getting anxious about it. 3 weeks does sound soon though I’m looking at an elective section think they do these at 39 weeks? Will find out next week although I feel like I’m about to pop now 😮 .

PixieDust26 · 12/06/2019 20:44

@Mayjane5 I second feeling like I'm about to pop 😂. I'm not sure tbh, I just got told I'll be induced at 38 weeks! Hoping to go into labour on my own to be honest!
