Hi ladies, thought I’d start another thread as the original one is closed and don’t think anyone has started a new one yet? I’m sure there are more ladies I should tag!

@Bellaphant @Vicks82 thanks, so far I've only been told (and checked) for 2 things. Either a urine infection or my waters were leaking. Dont have a UTI so looks like it was my waters. Speculum exam at triage showed that it stopped so everything is ok. Got another growth scan booked soon so everything will get checked then too.

@Rosyedith yeh it's normal. That's Braxton Hix. I'm getting it too, usually when I get up and move around. It gets so tight it actually hurts my hips and makes me feel like I'm going to pee myself and I end up walking like a cowboy trying to reach the toilet... as lady-like as I can 😳😂

Consultant told me they'd love me to get to 38 weeks but they doubt it and could induce me as early as 34! I'm nearly 31 weeks and cant even think of organising anything till my final assessment has been submitted in 2 weeks 🙈

Mayjane5 · 19/05/2019 17:55

@Bunnybaubles I missed your earlier post about leaking, I hope you are ok and can make it for a good number of weeks I couldn’t imagine an induction that early I don’t have everything ready!! What assessment are you doing? I have a uni essay to write too much going on ☺️ At least we have amazing things to look forward too x

Bunnybaubles · 19/05/2019 20:55

@Mayjane5 that's ok, hospital didn't seem too concerned, just to go back if it happens again.
My consultants are more concerned about my blood pressure. It's around this time they expect it to shoot right up so this is what will determine how early I get induced.
I was induced at 35+6 last year with my daughter because it got so high then developed into pre-eclampsia. Meant spending a week in hospital after she was born which I really dont want this time!

I'm doing a primary teaching degree. My assessment is for the child psychology module which is fascinating! Learned so much about babies early behavioural development. The toddler behaviour aspect is a godsend to learn, why they have meltdowns, best strategies etc, we'll all have that soon enough!! 😱

What are you doing at uni?

Bellaphant · 19/05/2019 20:57

@rosyedith, I've been having a tight and painful bump occasionally since like week 24. My midwife and the antenatal classes suggested drinking a lot of water, as apparently it gets a lot worse without. Tbf they do seem to be suggesting water or a bath for everything ;) but I find it helps.

@bunnybaubles, glad you are okay.

Got the dentist on Tuesday for my gums, NCT in the evening, the pyshio gym class on Thurs for my hips and the health visitor is coming to do a home visit on Friday. It's no wonder I'm tired ;)

Vicks82 · 20/05/2019 19:41

@bunnybaubles glad you're ok and hope blood pressure doesn't go up too soon.

I keep getting a very tight/sore bump for the past 3 weeks. Nice to know I'm not alone with this. Have to say I've noticed it seems worse if I haven't drunk enough during the day.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Bunnybaubles · 22/05/2019 01:22

Just had the worst bout of morning sickness this evening!! Being sick didn't help at all so went to bed early. Anyone else getting random bouts of sickness?

Bellaphant · 22/05/2019 05:39

Me! Last two weekends, Sunday was sick four times in two hours. Bit of a scary moment yesterday, went out for s walk, got horrendous pains, had to go home, run to the loo, then threw up, then got these...practise contractions (?!) For about two hours.

On the plus side, the dentist is thrilled with my gums and I'm almost Better!!

BeckyButterfly · 22/05/2019 17:27

@Bunnybaubles yes! It has been happening since the 28 week mark. Two or three times a week I'll be sick. I feel sick most of the time now as well, like I did in my first trimester, so I'm back to having to eat little and often to keep it at bay.

Mayjane5 · 22/05/2019 20:27

@Bunnybaubles hopefully you get your work done in time too, I’m doing a hr masters just one more essay to write for this year, due in just before due date 😬

Mayjane5 · 22/05/2019 20:30

Sounds like everyone is still getting sickness 😞 doesn’t get easier like they say it does, I’m suffering with bad heartburn which wakes me up. There is a bank holiday sale on at mamas and papas this weekend so there may be offers in other places too. I’m heading down to get a few bits think I’ve picked a car seat now still need steriliser and bottles etc

rosyedith · 26/05/2019 14:30

How is everyone? I'm 32 weeks and feeling so heavy it's exhausting 🙈

Bellaphant · 26/05/2019 15:11

My bump dropped on Thursday! I feel so heavy and gross and awkward and everything is so hot. Suddenly gone from being okay to this being awful. Seven more weeks feels really odd.

Mayjane5 · 27/05/2019 15:05

Yes totally 31 weeks here and sickness has come back and lack of energy. Bump heavy feel like I need to wee all the time. Managed to get the car seat just a few other bits to get now and do hospital bag just incase

Vicks82 · 27/05/2019 18:41

Glad this isn't just me. Bump is so heavy and uncomfortable the last few days, was starting to worry at how much it was effecting me. Think I overdid it Saturday too as we were out and about, have been really suffering ever since. We went to Mothercare today and I got so hot and felt so sick, haven't felt sick for weeks now so a bit of a shock!
Not sure if it's a national thing but our closest Mothercare has a 10% off event coming up next Sunday and couple of other dates in June, so you might want to see if your local branch has anything happening x

Mayjane5 · 27/05/2019 19:34

@Vicks82 yes I think I overdid it Saturday and have felt awful since suppose I need to slow down but who has time to sit and rest? 🤔☺️ I’ll keep an eye out for mothercare offers, I’m thinking Sainsbury’s will be doing their next baby event soon too

Loujonesy · 27/05/2019 20:00

My bump is getting heavy now. The heartburn and acid reflex is bothering me before bed ( thank goodness for gaviscon ) and waking me up making me tired especially as still working full time and having 3 children already. Although a major achievement has happened. I have passed the date that I had my twins. I had ds at 36 weeks and twins at 31 plus 1 day and I have just passed it. Very happy with this 👍 x

Mayjane5 · 28/05/2019 21:02

@Loujonesy yep the heartburn is awful wakes me up too I’ve found the individual sachets of gaviscon handy and definitely the mint one the other one made me want to throw up too. I’m thinking this one may be an earlier one for me had dd at 38 weeks trying not to think about it too much, so much to do still

Vicks82 · 30/05/2019 14:13

Has anyone bought a maternity support belt? I'm getting so uncomfortable with heavy bump and that I wondered if it would help??

HayleyHaystack · 30/05/2019 14:45

Hi everyone!
I'm 35 weeks today - I can't believe it. Everything feels quite real - started the hospital bag packing and almost finished the NCT course. Bump is huge and I'm quite petite so it's been quite heavy and sleeping is now a thing of the past. Braxton Hicks are real! Really must finalise names...

Bellaphant · 30/05/2019 17:58

34 weeks today, got NCT breastfeeding class in an hour. Had my appt today: baby is back to being way above the curve, about a week ahead and is 2/5 engaged! Keep telling myself this doesn't mean baby is coming early but im not convinced.

If both parents were early, is baby more likely to be early?

Hospital bag packed, counting down the days at work: I finish on the 28th and have almost a day off each week to stop me getting too tired

@vicks, you May want to look at some exercises for PGP/spd as a lot of them are about core strength and making bump easier to carry, if that makes sense?

Bunnybaubles · 02/06/2019 04:25

@Mayjane5 finished my final assessment, I am now uni free until October 🤗 Hopefully you get yours done and dusted soon. It's great knowing I have all this time to finally get things done.

Unfortunately, I can't sleep at night now tho! Restless legs, muscle cramps, either too hot or too cold!! Bump is huge so I am always uncomfortable, bad SPD, bad heartburn, diarrhoea, high blood pressure headaches... have I missed anything out?!

I'm only 32+5! Think that's me so over being pregnant now 😂

Mayjane5 · 02/06/2019 19:56

@Hayleyhaystack I really need to start thinking about a hospital bag I’ve nothing yet for that. And yes names too we only have one I’m not sure of.

Mayjane5 · 02/06/2019 19:59

@Bunnybaubles that’s great with the uni work out of the way I’ve still got mine to do must get a move on. Sleeping is the worst leg cramps are really bad and trying to jump out of bed when they occur is impossible with the bump. The heartburn sucks too 😔

Bunnybaubles · 02/06/2019 20:51

@Mayjane5 Omg the leg cramps! I had a really bad one the other morning. Yeh I have really bad heartburn too. I must overdose every day on rennies 😂

I had my 32 week growth scan on Thursday, my little girl has lots of hair 🥰 Saw it all floating in the water. Sonographer was lovely and gave me 2 profile pics showing her hair and a pic of her little footprint ❤

Mothercare had a 25% sale on so I bought cellular blankets, bottles and dummys yesterday, so I have officially started my hospital bag 😌

rosyedith · 03/06/2019 18:23

Can anyone help? I'm really sore under my boobs - it's not red but it feels like sunburn to touch. Not sure if it's my ribs or chafing or possibly just stretching .. I'm in agony!
