Hi ladies, thought I’d start another thread as the original one is closed and don’t think anyone has started a new one yet? I’m sure there are more ladies I should tag!

I'm just waiting on my friend to confirm what she wants and doesn't then if any of you want them I can post!

Mayjane5 · 09/05/2019 21:22

@Bellaphant I had a growth scan last week baby was just on line but everything ok, bump seems to have slowed down in increasing size for now but I’m sure it will make up for it in the next few weeks.

Bellaphant · 09/05/2019 21:31

@vicks82, the class was good: an awful lot of teachers or people linked to education, and at 31 I think there were only 1-2 mums younger than me, which surprised me a bit. A lot of people were saying that they were surprised by the lack of info and support through their pregnancy, and people seemed to have inconsistent experiences - I think I've been really lucky with my midwife and things!

My travel system is the cossato giggle, it's really light but well put together.

rosyedith · 10/05/2019 18:20

Can we talk names??? 😬

Vicks82 · 11/05/2019 08:22

@Bellaphant I'm 37 and did wonder on the age range, so interesting to hear your experience. I feel lucky regarding my midwife so far too, I've had so many people tell me you'll never see the same one and not happy with their experience but I've seen the same one throughout. Glad things have been better for us both!

@rosyedith what names are you thinking of? We hit a bit of a wall so have had a couple of weeks not talking about it but think we'll get the book out again this weekend!

Off to a nearly new sale later, so hoping to pick up some goodies for baby 😊

rosyedith · 11/05/2019 09:06

@Vicks82 I like uncommon names. I'm so protective over my girls name 😂 for a boy we like Rudi Rex or Otis!

Mayjane5 · 11/05/2019 17:34

@rosyedith I only have one name so far which is Thomas after family, I’m really stuck on this one. Don’t want to end up with a name just because I don’t have anything else. Any good websites to look at?

Loujonesy · 14/05/2019 07:28

I haven't been on for a while so may have missed this, I had my whooping cough injection yesterday evening and been sick during the night and haven't slept, also have major headache, anyone else had these symptoms? 🤒

Loujonesy · 14/05/2019 07:53

@Vicks82 I had anti d last week, had no problem with it x

Vicks82 · 14/05/2019 20:43

@Loujonesy Hoping you're feeling better now xx
I wasn't sick after the whooping cough jab but did have a bad headache, slept awfully and was incredibly irritable (husband got the brunt of that!)
I found the anti D Injection much more painful this time and it hurt for a good 24 hours but no other side effects thankfully.

@Mayjane5 I found an app on android called Baby Names (logo is yellow with an egg) which has been quite good. You swipe whether you like the name or not and it creates a short list. You can also pair it with the app on your partner's device and then it also creates a list of the names you both like which is good fun!

@rosyedith uncommon names is good and can understand you being protective over one! I like you boys shortlist. My husband really wants a short name, so that's ruled a lot out!

Bellaphant · 15/05/2019 03:04

@rosyedith, how do you feel about Rauri?

We've convinced ourselves it's a girl and kind of settled on a name, but it might change when baby appears! Less than two months now, which feels crazy. Did a bunch of shopping for the hospital bag (Primark are doing flipflops for 90p!!!) And baby's bag is packed. Getting the urge to declutter before baby: cleared a drawer's worth of clothes to take to the charity shop earlier, next step books and the bathroom unit!

Got my first physio-gym class on Thursday, theory test on Friday. Has anyone else got a health visitor appt yet??

Bunnybaubles · 15/05/2019 07:31

@LouJonesy I was told the whooping cough vaccine would leave me feeling tired. Felt like the first trimester exhaustion all over again! But apart from that I had no other side effects.

A couple mornings ago I did wake in the middle of the night feeling so sick! Then in the morning I had to keep running to the toilet, had an awful achy feeling below and had such bad Braxton Hix every few minutes for hours I thought it could be early labour as that's how my DS's started! It wasnt tho thankfully!

Anyone else getting Braxton Hix? Just taking a few steps seems to set them off just now.

@Vicks82 I dont envy you pram shopping! We did it last year for DD and it had to be the most stressful thing to buy. We ended up with a silver cross brompton. Such an over priced mistake!
DD is turning 1 next month and will still be in her buggie so we will be shopping for a sling instead. I hope that's easier 😂

@Mayjane5 there is a really good website called Babynamescience.com which matches the best names with your surname. There are lots of variables it takes into account which you can change depending on the type of name you want.

@Bellaphant I got a letter through asking if I want to meet my health visitor before baby comes. I've not made an appointment yet. They are actually 3 months late with DD's 8 month check so I'm not sure about making one.

Bunnybaubles · 15/05/2019 08:37

Just had to text my midwife, I'm peeing dark pink water 🙈

rosyedith · 15/05/2019 09:41

@Bellaphant I do like Rauri spelt Rory but I know a little boy called this so I wouldn't be able to use it.

I'm also convinced I'm having a girl hence why I'm so protective over the name 😂

How long does everyone have left? I have 10 weeks ....

Bellaphant · 15/05/2019 09:54

Tell them it's spelt differently ;)

I've got 8 weeks and one day, 6 and a bit weeks left at work ( I work from home so I'm hoping this is fine, I've got a week and a half to tidy/organise/get my hair cut/rest)

We thought the girls' name we liked was fairly unusual but it's in the top ten! I don't know anyone called it! This happened with my name though - it was fairly unusual and then it was massively popular the year I was born.

@bunnybaubles, hope you are okay!!

Bellaphant · 15/05/2019 09:55

Oh, also, I got a letter telling me the health visitor was coming at a set time! Wasn't a question of discussion!

Vicks82 · 15/05/2019 20:29

@Bunnybaubles hope you're ok x

I met our health visitor this Monday morning, we also had a letter that seemed that was it. When she was here and I'd explained hubby had stayed as long as he could but had to go to work for a meeting, she said you could have called and just told them I needed to come earlier 😩

@rosyedith 10 weeks today for me too!

6 weeks left of work, have to say I do feel shattered driving home every day at the moment so glad I'm taking a chunk of holiday before I start maternity leave.

Is anyone having a baby shower? I hadn't given it much thought but then a friend suggested it but I'm not sure.

Bellaphant · 15/05/2019 20:44

I spent a week calling twice a day to rearrange mine from the letter. When she got in touch she seemed most annoyed my work schedule didn't take second place and eventually offered me a slot a week later. I was a bit concerned.

Has anyone had aching shoulders? My right one has been painful all day.

Vicks82 · 15/05/2019 20:49

It seems hit and miss with who you get. My friend was really unimpressed with hers for their attitude.

I've got painful shoulders on and off but have included this with the general back aches I get from being at a desk all day. Hope you're gets better quickly x

Loujonesy · 15/05/2019 22:00

Just over 10 weeks to go. Seen consultant who doesn't think I will go full term again so it's anyone's guess 🙊. Hoping to work TIL 36 weeks but not sure will get that far. Any tips on acid reflux? Seriously suffering at mo. 😢

BeckyButterfly · 15/05/2019 23:31

10 weeks from today for me! Planning on working till I'm 39 weeks 😳 our summer holidays start 5 days before I'm due so I'm hoping to keep going until then. Fingers crossed! I'm probably one of the only women to be hoping their baby is late haha.

HayleyHaystack · 16/05/2019 09:01

Hi ladies! 7 weeks to go for me. Check up last week said the bump was measuring big and over the 90% centile thing. Taking it with a pinch of salt to be honest as I know these things are pretty inaccurate from friends. I’ve got a growth scan next week anyway. Nursery project has started, the room has been decorated but it’s an empty shell! Prepping the house for maternity leave - planning on spending 3 months in the garden (yay to summer babies!) so DH has taken that project on board. Sold our car and bought a new one with bigger boot space! No names yet, sleeping terribly with braxton hicks, starting to buy things and get excited. Maternity care has been poor up to this point with missing 2 apps that should have been made after being told I didn’t need them, made a complaint last week and MWs took it seriously and I’m back in for regular apps. Started NCT which is a bit useless but nice to meet people. Also started a private hypnobirthing course at home, really recommend. Other than that, counting down the days....

Mayjane5 · 18/05/2019 19:02

@Loujonesy @Beckybutterfly 10 weeks to go for me too on countdown now. I’m getting bad heartburn too every evening, having to cut out most things and eating smaller meal in evening. Gaviscon every night now tastes awful but it works. Trying to work till week before too will just have to wait and see. Had icp with my first so depending if it appears again it could be an earlier induction again.

rosyedith · 19/05/2019 15:41

Can anyone tell me is it normal for my bump to get really tight when I'm walking or when I've over done it? It gets so tight it feels like Its going to cramp, once I sit down or stop, it relaxes
