Have mentioned this on the Sept. thread already, but what do you all prefer out of Freya and Flora? I'm finding it really hard to decide! We both love Freya but it's getting really popular now and that puts me off, as I grew up with a really common name, which I hated... I think I almost prefer Flora but is it too unusual? And it seems like a name that's adorable on a 3 year old but odd on a grown woman, would you agree? DH says Flora just reminds him of the margarine, but that doesn't really bother me... interested in what the masses think

Freya is too common now.

daisybo · 08/07/2007 22:33

you will always get the flora margarine jokes......

hellish · 08/07/2007 22:33

I love Freya as it's my dd's name
I like Flora but what about Florence then you could shorten to Flora?

Idobelieveinfairies · 08/07/2007 22:33

Definatley Freya.

MaureenMLove · 08/07/2007 22:33

Ya see, Flora reminds me of the London Marathon! I like both of them though, although, I think Ilike Freya more.

ApuNahasapeemapetilon · 08/07/2007 22:33

I KNOW 2 Floras both aged 10
both adrable
never think of margerine NEVER

lots of freyas

go Flora!

unknownrebelbang · 08/07/2007 22:33

Flora IS margarine, lol.

Freya, out of the two.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 08/07/2007 22:34

Freya is a tad common these days im afraid (if that bothers you?)
flora does remind me of marg (sorry)

Hathor · 08/07/2007 22:34

OK this is how to decide.
Toss a coin. Best of 3.
If your immediate reaction to the result chosen by the coin is disappointment then you know which is the answer you really want.

fingerwoman · 08/07/2007 22:35

I really like them both, but agree that there are quite a lot of Freyas so if you want the more unusual option go for Flora.
or what about Fleur?

sweetkitty · 08/07/2007 22:35

Freya

CantSleepWontSleep · 08/07/2007 22:36

Flora is definitely margerine.

Freya is nice, but agree getting popular now. Like the Florence suggestion for something along those lines.

hellish, I adore the name Florence, but it's an "over my dead body" name for DH I suppose I should just wait and see what we have first - if it's a boy then it will all be irrelevant anyway!

pirategirl · 08/07/2007 22:39

so many Freyas now , have to agree.

cant say I thought about marg when I read the Flora name.

does it have to be a 'F' ???

I prefer flora, like it alot actually.

yelnats · 08/07/2007 22:39

I dont know anyone with either of the names. I definatel prefer Freya - very nice. I agree with your DH about Flora and the margarine.

PurpleLostPrincess · 08/07/2007 22:39

Freya isn't a very pretty name is it?

Have you thought of Fauna? It is both pretty and endearing. Also has the benefit of being quirky and unusual.

I like Ffion, but then again I am welsh.

unknownrebelbang · 08/07/2007 22:42

I do like Fleur.

Roobie · 08/07/2007 22:42

Flora is a lovely name. Not keen on Freya probably due to current popularity.

puppydavies · 08/07/2007 22:43
