Choose between 2 girls names for me...

Have mentioned this on the Sept. thread already, but what do you all prefer out of Freya and Flora? I'm finding it really hard to decide! We both love Freya but it's getting really popular now and that puts me off, as I grew up with a really common name, which I hated... I think I almost prefer Flora but is it too unusual? And it seems like a name that's adorable on a 3 year old but odd on a grown woman, would you agree? DH says Flora just reminds him of the margarine, but that doesn't really bother me... interested in what the masses think

I don't like Flora, Freya or Fleur but that is hardly relevant.

I love Flora, can just imagine her in flowery Boden dress, with matching hat. And can so imagine ehr older wish I had thought of it for mine, actually dd2 is Laura and I wanted to spell it Lora but DH wouldnt let me.

Calordan, the flowery Boden dress is exactly the image that comes to mind when I think of the name Flora!!

I like both names. Was reading about Flora McDonald recently and thinking what a lovely name it was.

I understand the margerine references so many people have, but it's a much older name than that so I think it stands on its own.

Frances is a lovely name too, I know somebody suggested that.

My friend spells it Freyja aswell. It's just a shame that, in my daughter's case, it is splet Freya!

Peevsey, my sympathies My DH has gone from "over my dead body", to "well - maybe I'll think about it" to "I don't mind it that much actually"... so I'm hoping that another few weeks and I'll get him to actually like it

Well I just had a count-up and, ignoring the 'I like both' or 'I like neither' comments, it's come out at exactly 26 votes for each name!!! That's probably the most helpful answer actually, as at least I know that whichever I go for, it's not like 99% of the population are going to think I'm mad You're always going to get some people who hate your name choice of course, so a 50% split is perfect really! I may have answered my own question here though, as when it came out exactly equal I found myself thinking "I'll count again to see if I've missed any votes for Flora" You watch - I'll have a boy for sure now and all this will be a moot point anyway Thanks again, everybody.
