@EltzBee yes, they were both great, no placings for us, but they were such good girls I can't argue with that. It's such a big atmosphere but it's hard to really enjoy the show when you're busy competing, by 1pm I was exhausted each day. Both sad it's over and a little bit pleased that it's now behind us, lol.

@LuckyKitty13 I hadn't seen the axkid minikid till you mentioned it, but it looks really good. Im hoping we can keep little one rear facing for as long as possible. I'm looking at the cybex cloud q as an infant car seat, love the lay flat feature, but worried about the weight. Still very much window shopping, doubt we'll buy anything big for a few months yet.

@AngeloMysterioso that must be such a relief. I know the early scans helped me massively, it's so hard when you don't know what's going on in there. Did they have any idea why you were getting the spotting?

GemmaJen · 11/03/2019 17:32

@EltzBee we're thinking about getting a gender scan. I also keep looking at the 12w scan and all the theories, if I'm reading correctly I think Nub suggests girl, skull boy and Ramzi boy. I know they're a load of nonsense, but I'm impatient and want to know, lol.

MrsC87 · 11/03/2019 19:10

Random question but anyone else constantly got a stuffy nose? It's driving me round the bend!! x

EltzBee · 11/03/2019 19:14

@MrsC87 yes! I've had it for about 9 weeks :(

OP posts:
CobaltRose96 · 11/03/2019 19:19

@MrsC87, yup! I'm constantly sniffing and breathing through my mouth Smile I think it's called pregnancy rhinitis.

AngeloMysterioso · 11/03/2019 19:22

@MrsC87 yep, but I have perennial hay fever so that's pretty much the norm for me! Got a nasty chest infection atm though, but coughing up nasty gunge for the last few days!

@GemmaJen they couldn't say why it was but just said to try not to worry about that or my lack of other symptoms. So much easier said than done though!

MrsC87 · 11/03/2019 19:24

It's so annoying, suppose we can't take anything for it @CobaltRose96 @EltzBee @AngeloMysterioso?

EltzBee · 11/03/2019 19:52

@MrsC87 not that I know of, I've been putting olbas oil on my PJ top to help me breathe at bedtime and getting through a lot of tissues!

@AngeloMysterioso did speak to my GP last week about antihistamines as I get really bad hayfever and he said no need to suffer that, and that I can take ceterizine. Which is good to know when it's bad! I also have the hay max little pots which form a barrier that helps on lower count days a bit...!

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 11/03/2019 21:38

@eltzbee oh I'm so glad we can take something! I'm prone to hayfever too. You know, I asked the doc about antihistamines when my eczema was bad and he said I couldn't take anything at all!! But then this was also the doctor that wouldn't prescribe me an alternative moisturiser when I said the current one was irritating my skin, and just said "don't get pregnant" as a way to deal with all my pg related niggles.

Oh god I feel like I need to research some stuff more with all this pram and car seat talk! So far my own research has involved googling all the products you guys have suggested on here!! Lol.

@sunshine1987 my haakaa came at the weekend. Totally tested it out. It properly sucked my nipple into it!! It was so funny!!

@angelomysterioso glad your little bean is fine!! You'll be counting down the days til 12 weeks but it'll be here before you know it.

CobaltRose96 · 12/03/2019 08:45

40+3 today and baby is still on board Grin I dreamt last night that my water broke.... now even my own mind is teasing me Grin

EltzBee · 12/03/2019 10:43

@Crossfitgirl oh gosh your doctor sounds awful! My midwife wasn't sure when I asked her and said to speak to the GP; he was really nice, he said basically the packets all say 'don't use if pregnant' because it isn't ethical for them to do full clinical trials (same reason even paracetamol says that on the packet!), but that for cetirizine and loratadine (sorry I can't spell them!) the NHS lists them as being okay to use when needed as they have been used for a long time, are non-drowsy, with no problems - he read out the wording from the NHS guidelines for me as well. He's the Senior Partner at my practice as well so knows his stuff.

Hearing that some people are due this month and still waiting for prams after being on order for 3 months makes me glad I have started researching already, eeek! I'm planning on buying/ordering in May so will be around 24 weeks by that point :) it's quite handy that our office is actually opposite a really big Mothercare which is making the research and trying things a bit more convenient! I definitely would say go and have a look and a play with the different prams - I thought I really liked the silvercross ones as they looked amazing online, but when I tried them in the store I ruled them out super quickly as they were so bulky and heavy, and for me a faff to be able to use easily on my own. So your likes and dislikes may well change when you start trying things!

@CobaltRose96 ah bless you that's a mean dream, teasing you like that!! What actually is the waters breaking - is it like you see on TV and a flood of water suddenly comes out?! I have visions of that happening and ruining my mattress or something daft!!! I really need to start reading up at some point what actually happens during labour lol.

I started looking at a hypnobirthing course/workshop near us - did I imagine it, or did someone in our group do this too? The one near us does either a 10 hour course over 4 weeks, or a 3 hour workshop.

@eltzbee I’m doing an online hypnobirthing course if that would be something you’re interested in? With the positive birth company xx

EltzBee · 12/03/2019 12:00

@sunshine1987 ooh an online one? That's a good idea, didn't realise there was such a thing! I shall Google them now thanks hun!

ChaosMoon · 12/03/2019 18:17

Oh wow, that's a long wait @LuckyKitty13. I hate to ask but... Are you confident that is actually coming?

Great news about the scan @AngeloMysterioso. I hope that keeps your mind at rest.

Oh my god, @MrsC87 the study nose is so annoying! I work with people who can't get an infection of any sort, so I'm constantly explaining that it's pregnancy related and I'm not about to kill them.

@Crossfitgirl your Dr sounds rubbish. Time for a change?

A couple of friends have been swearing by the haakaa too. I keep meaning to order one. I'm 36 and 2 now and having our antenatal class on feeding tonight. Planning to start expressing after that and build up a colostrum stash. This is getting real now!

Your waters breaking can be a gush like on TV, but it can also be a trickle over a much longer period @EltzBee. Depends where the baby's lying, where the sack broke, etc.

I did a 4 hour hypnobirthing course. We've practiced most nights since and I already love it.

EltzBee · 13/03/2019 09:46

@ChaosMoon ah ok! I guess putting something under the bed sheet and things is the way to go then?!

Oh that's handy to know! When did you do yours weeks wise?

OP posts:
stormtrooperjulian · 13/03/2019 10:48

@sunshine1976 an online hypnobirthing course sounds interesting, I’ll look into that.

So I’m 12 weeks today! I know that doesn’t mean anything really but feels like a milestone to me so I’m pretty pleased. Scan on Monday so fingers crossed all will be ok there and we can tell my sister and the in-laws about the pregnancy.

Question about maternity jeans..... under bump or over bump? Generally I prefer low rise jeans but I was wondering how the under bump ones actually stay up.

EltzBee · 13/03/2019 11:08

@stormtrooperjulian great news 12 weeks feels like such a mental relief :)

I have over the bump from New Look which are really comfy! The denim part is in normal position and then the stretchy bit goes up and over to hold them up more xx

So, can early labour feel similar to gas pains/constipation? 🙈 I've been getting pains similar to this since about half 6 ish. Feels like I really need to pass gas/poo for about 15-20 seconds and then goes away, before coming back again between 10-15 minutes later. 40+4 today.

I don't want to get my hopes up in case I'm just constipated 🙈

sunshine1987 · 13/03/2019 11:45

@stormtrooperjulian I felt exactly the same when I got to 12 weeks, it’s such an exciting time 💜

Over the bump I find a lot more comfortable than under the bump now I’m at 20 weeks xx

@cobaltrose96 eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek 🙈😍

EltzBee · 13/03/2019 11:49

@CobaltRose96 eeek! Fingers crossed xx

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 13/03/2019 20:54

@stormtrooperjulian I don't have any under bump ones, but I have been wearing some stretchy work pants under my bump. The bump kinda starts above my pubic bone so it's only just above where low rise jeans would come anyway, so they stay up fine. Non stretchy stuff def wouldn't stay up.

Anyway, my over bump ones are literally the comfiest ever, and I plan to get some more over bump stuff, it also feels like it supports the bump a bit whereas when it's underneath it just sort of wobbles!

Summer may feel differently though, may be too hot for over bump ones!

Can't believe you're 12 weeks already!

@CobaltRose96 oooh how are you getting on? Has anything progressed!? Good luck! Xxxxx

LuckyKitty13 · 13/03/2019 20:54

@ChaosMoon we've called last week and then again today and they reassure us it is coming - they say today that they have been informed that the manufacturers now have stock and they are just waiting for it to arrive with them so they can send it out - they are predicting next week. Fingers crossed is all I can do!

CobaltRose96 · 13/03/2019 21:04

So, I'm pretty sure I'm in early labour 🙈 Pains have ranked up in intensity and frequency (although still not terribly painful and 7-8 minutes apart). I'm also pretty sure I had a bloody show earlier. Eeek.

Crossfitgirl · 13/03/2019 21:28

@CobaltRose96 eeeeeek that's so exciting! Hope you're OK and not feeling too nervous! Sending you virtual back rubs, relaxing music and a nice bath to help you along 😁 xxx

ChaosMoon · 14/03/2019 03:53

That's so exciting @CobaltRose96! I hope everything is progressing well tonight. Good luck!

@EltzBee I have maternity mats from Boots that are designed to do just that. We did our class at 27weeks. It was a good point to do it as it gave us time to build up a regular practice. We definitely do it more regularly now than at the start.

You should be pleased @stormtrooperjulian. I'll have everything crossed for you on Monday. I've gone through phases where I've preferred both under and over bump. To be honest, I'm back to maxi dresses now as nothing works perfectly now I'm this big. And people keep saying I'm small...

That must be a relief to hear @LuckyKitty13. Fingers crossed pram beats baby!
