Well done setting up this thread @EltzBee!

That's so exciting @CobaltRose96! How are you feeling today?

Do you feel on top of it with the house @SullyWifey? I feel mine really low down too. And yet people persist in telling me I carry high. Seriously, if it's any lower, it'll come out!

@RanchoRelaxo those dreams sound horrible! Mine are still vivid, but less distressing at the moment. Last night I dreamed that someone from work was trying to vote up on our house so we rowed to Thailand on a gondola and DH turned into one of the meerkats from the advert, and fell in the sea. I think he might have drowned because I couldn't get him out...

@MrsC87, @ChaosMoon, thanks both! No real signs of baby today, although at around midnight last night I woke up with quite bad back pain. I got pretty excited, but when I woke up this morning it had stopped! Grrr Grin

MrsC87 · 08/03/2019 17:59

You never know @CobaltRose96 it could be the start of things. My friend actually had mild contractions for a week, then they stopped for about 5 days, then bam she was in labour. Fingers crossed it won't be long and you'll get to meet your baby. Do you know whether baby is a boy or girl? x

Happy due date to me! Still pregnant Grin

Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 07:59

@delilah7 I'm due 9th Aug xxx

Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 08:23

@sullywifey the occaeo system is what we're getting! Did it not come with a car seat already? Or can you choose which one you get with it?

@mrsc87 @eltzbee @canonlyhopexo my SIL has also highly recommended the perfect prep to me. But I've read its perfectly easy and just as quick to just boil the kettle and do it without, so not sure I'm going to invest yet. Its all such a minefield!

I hated going to wedding fairs... so think I'd hate baby shows. Just gonna look for sales and online deals I think!

@chaosmoon @sullywifey I feel it super low down too but my belly is big right from under my boobs! Must be all the fluid!

@cobaltrose96 happy due date! How exciting.... Any time now then! How are you feeling?

CobaltRose96 · 09/03/2019 08:24

@crossfitgirl, I'm feeling good, thank you! Felt very restless last night but no other signs yet 🙈

Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 08:24

Also, sorry I didn't read all the posts before posting my due date so have now done it properly and copied and pasted and added to the list! Have changed your name too @delilah7 😁

@Crossfitgirl I think it's the convenience of the bottle being the right temperature quickly in the middle of the night that attracts me 🙈😴

@CobaltRose96 happy due date. Have you any names in mind for your girly?
It's going to be so lovely when everyone starts sharing their newborn pics 😊

EltzBee · 09/03/2019 08:29

@CobaltRose96 happy due date 😀😂 it's a funny thing isn't it knowing it's estimated and could be a coupe weeks either side but somehow it feels carved in stone! Hope they don't keep you waiting too long!

Not slept well so really tired this morning, ah well. Think I'm too nervous about trying mother in law which is so daft!

Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 08:34

@mrsc87 true. I might be able to get a 2nd hand one from my SILs friend so will see! I hope to ebf for a while but if that goes tits up (no pun intended) may look at getting one nearer the time. Think I'll get some of those ready made formula bottles to start with, then look at formula and prep options if the baby does need the formula before I plan on stopping bf. If that makes sense? Gonna do the big purchases first though, starting with pram and travel system, cot, nursery furniture, baby monitor etc then clothes and other crap will come later 😂 going to start my list today!! Will post on later if anyone wants xxx

Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 08:38

@eltzbee aww good luck telling MIL! How many weeks are you now? We told our family at Christmas in cards, but I kinda wish we'd just told them verbally as it was much nicer telling all my friends after.
She'll be over the moon :-)

If it makes you feel any better I also had a terrible night's sleep mainly cos of DH snoring and a constant headache since yesterday.

Anyone else have snoring partners?
I normally wear earplugs so I'm actually slightly worried when baby comes, I won't be able to wear them as I'll need to hear DD, but I will then also be able to hear DH snoring. I'm actually terrified of having no sleep whatsoever! But wouldn't want to kick DH out of the room either.

Tricky one x

EltzBee · 09/03/2019 08:38

@MrsC87 that's why I like the sound of the machine, that it is the right temperature in 2 minutes target then having to boil the kettle then wait for it to cool down for half an hour. Especially in middle of night when DH or I are rather drowsy lol!

Some of the travel systems we've looked at come with particular car seats, but the lady in Mothercare did mention that the Cosatto Giggle car seat they get more negative feedback on and wouldn't actually recommend it for a new born. Interestingly she said the prams that more people seen to have issues with are the silver cross ones which I was quite surprised about.

@Crossfitgirl I've not heard of that one am gonna have to Google!

Hmm I also hated wedding shows so maybe the baby show wouldn't be my cuppa tea either! I can't stand shopping particularly either though lol!

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 08:53

@eltzbee oh did she say what the negative feedback was or why its not recommended for newborns? I may have to Google car seats lol x

sunshine1987 · 09/03/2019 08:53

@crossfitgirl I’m not getting a perfect prep either before babies here or a steriliser (the bottles I have don’t need one), I’m hoping to breastfeed and then if that doesn’t work I can always pick something like that up from Amazon next day delivery or something. Thought I’d spend the money on what I definetely need and bare bones but keep money aside as a just incase xx

sunshine1987 · 09/03/2019 08:58

@crossfitgirl also with car seats look up how safe they are, brutal, maxi cosi and Joie come up again and again as being the safest. Also think about whether you want to take it in and out of the car (and then what’s comparable with your pram). We went with the maxi Cosi Pebble as was recommended everywhere and has really high safety ratings plus my friends used to always get their baby out of the car whilst sleeping still in their car seat and ‘plug it in’ so I liked that idea too xx

sunshine1987 · 09/03/2019 08:58

*britax not brutal lol 🙈😂

canonlyhopexo · 09/03/2019 09:01

@CobaltRose96 happy due date lovely. Hope baby makes an appearance soon!

@Crossfitgirl perfect prep does seem a lot of money when you can boil kettle, but that all in all takes about 20 mins and the machine does it in two so I think that would be good for nighttime feeds or if we have a particularly hungry baby! It would be useful to get a second hand one if you know someone who could sell it to you. I'm not planning to breastfeed at all so it would also be good for DP to use. I think the ready made formula bottles are a must have for hospital bags going by online recommendations so I will also definitely get some of those in! Feeding is a whole stress in itself! My partner snores also. I try and fall asleep before him and we don't like being in separate beds but sometimes he or I will go into the spare room just to get a decent amount of kip undisturbed. I think it will be a necessity when baby is here as don't want either of us to get over tired! We're planning on keeping the bed in the nursery for the time being as never know when we might need it and bubba won't be in there anyway and have plenty of room!

@EltzBee good luck with telling your MIL I'm sure she will be over the moon and you'll be asking yourself what you was ever worried about!

I've been looking at the ickle bubba travel system and seems really good value with good reviews too. Anyone seen that one?
We're not going to any baby shows either!
