@Crossfitgirl same bump comes right out from under boobs too! well good news if if they stay low it can be a quicker labour apparently!

So yes depending on what bundle you go for! There's so many! the one we looked at came with the car seat you can click on and off the travel system but we wanted one of the 0-4 isofix ones, so they did us a deal and took £200 off the pram price and added the car seat we wanted at another £100 pounds off. Which worked out £300 saving altogether compared to if we got it online! then on top of that they also chucked in the foot muff, changing bag and some other accessories for free. Which if you buy on mamas and papas website is over £200!

The fairs are mental but if your willing to barter a little you get the good deals. What we got wasn't advertised anywhere I just went up to a rep and said I want this and this but I want a bundle deal, and bobs your uncle.

Happy due date @CobaltRose96 I bet this time is going to drag so I hope baby makes an appearance soon for you! my friend had her baby a couple weeks ago and she went the full two weeks past due date until she got induced. She said those two weeks felt longer than the 9months! Not that I'm trying to scare you sorry 😂 just hoping you do t go through that too! keep us updated xx

EltzBee · 09/03/2019 09:22

@Crossfitgirl to do with how flat it goes (or not enough!), position of bars and very awkward to fit in to a lot of cars apparently.

We like the look of the maxi Cosi pebble|pebble plus at the moment as they have very good safety data.

@canonlyhopexo we're the same have decided to formula feed from birth and definitely have the machine on our essential list, like your said if baby hungry and grumpy I'd rather have bottle done in 2 minutes then the 20 minutes for kettle water to cool. It's not too expensive thankfully and can use any brand of bottles with it too.

@SullyWifey that was good going on getting the bundle you wanted and a good price too! Was that at the show? Nice one.

My bump growth spurt I noticed DH noticed to as yday he declared I looked very pregnant lol. It's quite low down but a distinctive shape now already! Eek.

DH brought me porridge and a cuppa in bed bless him, feeling looked after :)

15+1 today, and 1 week today we have our gender scan to find out if Bean is blue or pink! I still think blue 😂

@EltzBee we could wait and see how we get on without it, as I don't think it's necessarily an essential but more of a convenient luxury. But I said to DP I would rather just buy it now than end up only getting it anyway! If we don't get on it with, can sell it on. No biggie! I tried looking at bottles etc last night...mind blowing lol. So many options!

EltzBee · 09/03/2019 09:38

@canonlyhopexo oh bottles really are with the different flow rates and claims! From what I've read it's best to wait to buy a set on case baby doesn't like that style, so guess it is a get a coupe different options and then Amazon prime the winner 🤣👶
Fair enough, for me it is on my essential list to help keep me sane 🤣🤣 BIL had one and said with his kids it made life much easier which sounds good to me.

Are people planning on kitting out the nursery fully before baby arrives? One friend whose DD is 8 months old is only just doing it now as she's still sleeping in their room. I think I'd rather be organised and have it all done?

OP posts:
canonlyhopexo · 09/03/2019 09:43

@EltzBee I have seen the sets that have some slow flow and medium flow and this teat and that teat and I got all in a muddle so I gave up and went to sleep! The prep definitely seems to come highly recommended so don't blame you for grabbing one! I think we will end up the same. With the nursery, we already have the room decorated just cream so we only need to get furniture. We're planning on a cot and a small wardrobe and already have a chest of drawers. Not planning on doing curtain/blind/light shade etc until baby is here so we can decorate by gender but I am worried that it will be another thing to think about! My sister and mum recommended getting the cot all ready and set up from birth as after a few weeks/couple of months may want to use it in the day time for naps to get baby used to it!

stormtrooperjulian · 09/03/2019 09:53

@Crossfitgirl I sleep wearing earplugs. I started wearing them when I was with my ex cos he snored and now I can’t sleep without them. I’m not worried about waking up for the baby though, they don’t block out every bit of sound so I’m sure I’ll hear any crying etc. I heard that mothers are supposed to be kinda tuned in to the sound of their baby crying too so I would have thought you’d be very unlikely to sleep through it even with earplugs.

@EltzBee I was assuming we’d get the nursery sorted in advance so it’s all ready to go and we don’t have to worry about it when we’re sleep deprived. We’re having renovation work done at the moment so that room (and every other room - so much paint to choose!) will be newly decorated anyway so we’ll just need to buy the furniture etc at some point.

EltzBee · 09/03/2019 09:55

@canonlyhopexo our walls are just white (not decorated much and brand new house when we bought it summer 2017) so similar situation! I have seen some lovely nursery "wall sticker" sets that we think we will get to decorate rather than paint as like yours it's nice and fresh.

That's a really good idea on day time naps! I think we will definitely get it all ready and like your said it's the option then plus they get used to their room. We have a side board type unit with drawers and shelves which I grabbed off my parents when they were going to get rid of it, it's good and solid so going to get a changing mat to go on top then it should just be cot and wardrobe we need.

I've seen some good IKEA tips for storing changing items in their spice racks (sounds weird but Google!) So that it is all to hand but tidy.

I think it will all feel more real when the nursery is set up too :) eeek!

@EltzBee yeah that's exactly like us we renovated our house and just done it plain the in the hope we'd have a baby and only got finished last year! Wall stickers are lovely idea and easy to change as baby gets older if you want something different. Will defo google Ikea storage hacks. Apparently Ikea cots are really good too!? I can't wait to sort the nursery. How lucky you managed to nab some furniture- perfect timing!

@CobaltRose96 happy due date!! Hope baby doesn't keep you waiting too long!

thumper59 · 09/03/2019 10:15

@EltzBee I know I'm way way off to be planning nurseries but I have 😂. I love the baby animal painting prints. Think we are gonna have it plain with them up! I've told OH once we get to 20 weeks we will strip that room because it all needs plastering really before we do it again. We moved in last year, and rushed the spare room but it's just a dumping ground at the min so I can't wait to see it as an actual nursery. OH did try to suggest that I gave up my dressing room and had that as a nursery but my look must of said it all as he hasn't suggested it since 😳😂

sunshine1987 · 09/03/2019 10:16

@eltzbee I’m going to get it done in advance, I know what we’re like and if we wait until baby is here we won’t have the time to do it how we like etc. We’re just going to do an IKEA trip and get a chair and chest of drawers, found the cot on mokee that I like (and cheap too). Can then add bits as I go/when babies here but then i’ll feel like it’s “ready”. Plus we’ve no storage for clothes etc so need that chest of drawers in there xx

thumper59 · 09/03/2019 10:17

Sorry I'm just reading through these now. Asda had the perfect preps in the sale before for 50, and I'm sure my local Asda they're 55-60 in so beats online prices!

Still a bit worried about my lack of symptoms but trying not to stress about it too much. I just live in constant fear of a MMC. Well, miscarriage in general, MMC in particular.

Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 20:19

@eltzbee @canonlyhopexo I want to get the nursery done before baby comes as I know we won't do it after lol.

Although, there's no rush as baby won't be in there for a good few months after birth, so it's not the end of the world if it's not done. I thought maybe I'd get it done on mat leave but I might be too big and tired!

I've started gathering ideas on Pinterest of how I'd like it, we too have a new build so all white at the mo, and huge dumping ground! We are getting the loft boarded soon so once that's done we'll be getting furniture. We were thinking of getting a cot, drawers and wardrobe matching set either from mamas and papas outlet, or off ebay second hand.
We actually went in IKEA today to look at furniture, and the cots, to us, looked quite flimsy compared to the ones we have seen in the mamas and papas outlet, and they also aren't movable upwards /downwards to make it easier to get baby in and out when it's little, then lower it when it's bigger if you get me.
Thanks @stormtrooperjulian I dunno, I wear them to block out DH snoring and it does, I know it wouldn't block out a full on cry, but it'd def stop me hearing baby stirring or becoming unsettled before the full on cry... Then would it be harder to settle her if I didn't start feeding before the crying? Oh god knows!! Lol.

Crossfitgirl · 09/03/2019 20:21

Also thanks for the car seat tips. I've googled a few and that maxi cosi pebble and pebble plus does look very good.
May see what they say when we eventually go in and order the pram xx

canonlyhopexo · 09/03/2019 22:07

Has anyone picked up the Emma's diary packs yet from boots or Argos? I've just downloaded my vouchers and they've also got money off certain items bought from Argos.

Delilah7 · 10/03/2019 08:01

@canonlyhopexo me Hun.
They come with little money off vouchers as in for hello fresh etc some toothpaste nipple pad things etc etc. Quite good tbh!

canonlyhopexo · 10/03/2019 09:14

@Delilah7 ooo sounds good. Worth picking up then!? I'm such a saddo I love anything like that that comes with free samples or mini stuff 😂

sunshine1987 · 10/03/2019 09:39

I’m now certain I’m feeling baby kick each day now, really happy as was told it would be likely after 20 weeks I’d feel it 💜 the best feeling

CobaltRose96 · 10/03/2019 09:44

Still pregnant 🙈🙈

canonlyhopexo · 10/03/2019 10:33

@sunshine1987 eeeek thats so exciting. I'm just having little flutters and pops here and there but not much of a pattern really. I'm 18+2. My stomach is rock solid today and right low down too.

@CobaltRose96 goodness how are you feeling!? Have you got a birthday ball to bounce on? Raspberry leaf tea? Curry? Pineapple? Sex!? Lol!

CobaltRose96 · 10/03/2019 10:40

@canonlyhopexo, I feel good, just fed up! Especially of people asking if baby is here yet 🙈 I don't have a birthing ball, but I've been going on long walks, eating pinenapple, even scrubbed the kitchen food on my hands and knees yesterday and nada! Stubborn baby! Grin

CobaltRose96 · 10/03/2019 10:40

Kitchen FLOOR, not food Grin

sunshine1987 · 10/03/2019 10:41

Lol @cobaltrose96 I have everything crossed it all starts for you soon x

@canonlyhopexo it’s started to get a lot more the past couple of days, I’m 19 today so a little ahead of you, it’s such a weird feeling isn’t it lol? x
