@Crossfitgirl we got the atlas in nimbus white from mamas and papas! Xxx

EltzBee · 03/05/2019 21:51

Nice 😊

Does everyone else have the same arguement with their DHs over and over again? Ours is washing up - I cook, he washes up (we have a dishwasher which 75% goes in so not much...) But he doesn't ever do it without me nagging! I keep trying to just leave it out of principal but then obviously it annoys me and he had the cheek to say I wash up too quickly so it's not good enough. Well if he'd done it after dinner it'd be done to whatever standard he wants grrrrr!

Sorry to rant. He pissed me right off this evening with it. It's not like I enjoy having to nag!

@delilah7 oooh the atlas in white was my first choice too! I thought it was lovely, and we'll priced but DH wasn't as keen though and we both loved the Franklin but it was too expensive so we decided on the lulworth, but then... Easter saaale!

Crossfitgirl · 03/05/2019 22:00

@eltzbee yes. All the time. Except its usually DH tidying things away before I get round to it then him getting annoyed I didn't do it! Haha.
I would say. Just leave it. Don't nag him. Let it pile up, stick to your principles! He will soon learn!
We also argue when DH decides to do some tidying up or cleaning randomly, then gets annoyed if I don't join in. Once, he started cleaning the kitchen and doing stuff at 9pm on a Friday night when I'd had the worst week and was shattered. We had a huge barney, because he was "doing everything" and I was obviously being a lazy bum because I didn't jump up and also start cleaning, and could see no reason why he couldn't have just left it til the morning when we had all day with no plans whatsoever.

I think it really is the stupidest and prettiest things that drive us the craziest!

Crossfitgirl · 03/05/2019 22:03

*petty not pretty! Lol.

Also, we won't give a shit about the state of the house or arguing over the dishes when our babies arrive. It shall all become just non important imagines blissful non argumenty life with everyone cooing over baby instead

EltzBee · 03/05/2019 22:17

@Crossfitgirl haha yeah I'm sure the state of the kitchen or the hoovering needing doing will pale into insignificance then.

Hmm I think the baby may have hiccups or she's doing some rhythmic kicking?!

OP posts:
Crossfitgirl · 03/05/2019 22:39

Haha aww baby hiccups! @eltzbee I think we tempted fate. DH and I just argued over washing. Lol!

sunshine1987 · 03/05/2019 23:38

@Tropicana1 @fivebyfive2 massive confirmations to you both, lovely news 💜

sunshine1987 · 03/05/2019 23:38

*congratulations even 🤦🏻‍♀️

Tropicana1 · 04/05/2019 03:50

Had quite a time of it ladies - rushed to hospital today with severe abdominal pain, had to have emergency surgery. They were worried it was an ectopic but turns out I have severe endometriosis, she's amazed I manage to function when I'm on my period. I had abscesses cysts on both my ovaries which had ruptured and caused pus in the abdomen and peritonitis. She thought I might have to lose an ovary but I've managed to keep them both. She's amazed I got pregnant naturally and fast, and said if I'd have been seen pre pregnancy they would have said my chances were slim. She's advised an early scan at 6 weeks to make sure the baby is doing ok post op and likely to stay in hospital a few more days!

TrashKitten10 · 04/05/2019 04:23

@Tropicana1 wow, you've had a rollercoaster few days! Congratulations on your news and hope that you're feeling better soon. You sound like you were really lucky to conceive so easily. Hoping little miracle baby is completely unaffected by all the drama :)

@Fivebyfive2 Congratulations! Such lovely news.

@EltzBee Glad everything is okay, that must have been a bit scary.

I have to say this pregnancy business is a lot tougher than I anticipated. Just reached the end of my second bad sickness bug in just two weeks. Got myself all panicked as I ended up vomiting up bits of blood but I think that was just a short protest from my insides from spewing up so much. Tried desperately to keep sipping water as last time I got so dehydrated I ended up calling the midwife who advised a drip may be necessary (luckily i stopped being sick pretty much straight after the phone call) I normally have an immune system of steel but it just seems to have disappeared. I cried to DH yesterday saying I've never felt as rotten in my life as during this pregnancy, and I'm only 13 weeks in! Hoping that 24 hours of crazy vomiting is not now going to become a regular fortnightly occurrence Hmm

RanchoRelaxo · 04/05/2019 06:32

@Tropicana1 oh no! That's scary but glad you are okay, good that you are getting extra care now too with the scans

@EltzBee haha we have got the lulworth set too! It was just so nice and sturdy when we went to look at it, and will last for ages decoration wise, we got it when it was on offer the other weekend but I checked again yesterday and it's on an even better offer now! Typical haha
That sounds like hiccups too! We get them at least once a day now, last night they were so strong I couldn't get to sleep till she stopped 😂

RanchoRelaxo · 04/05/2019 06:34

Ah @TrashKitten10 that sounds awful, sickness bugs are the worst never mind coupled with pregnancy, hopefully you have just been unlucky and that will be it for sickness now 👎

EltzBee · 04/05/2019 07:20

@Crossfitgirl oops sorry about that 🤣 who'd think washing up could cause arguements eh! Lol

@RanchoRelaxo that was exactly our logic too 😊 we looked at some which felt quite flimsy and I didn't want anything glossy as that usually shows marks, wanted something that was classic to go with whatever decor we may have as little one grows and would last. Yeah we were going to get it before our holiday and didn't have time, when I saw the price had gone back up I was gutted but then the current offer worked out better anyhow I think (sorry about that!!). Our wardrobe says excited early June so I assume it'll all fine together?! We got discount on the mattress too which was good.

The hiccups were really cute but exactly like you said I was led in bed about to read when it started, lol. I wonder what causes them?! It was very different to her usual random kicks and jabs, bless her.

@TrashKitten10 ah no that really sucks! Hope it passes quickly. It's it definitely a bug? I know some times food aversions or reactions to certain things when pregnant can cause it (my Mum would get violently sick if she ate pork! Bizarrely, I can't stand the smell of pork at all!)

@Tropicana1 ah Hun what a few days for you! My friend has very bad endo too, which wasn't discovered till after she'd got pregnant first month of trying, they said to her that she was very lucky to conceive naturally and so quickly! She has a healthy little girl who starts school this year. Hope you have a swift recovery and the baby behaves itself there too for the scan (they did well to get into existence by sounds of it so they're a tough little cookie!) Xx

Delilah7 · 04/05/2019 07:53

@Crossfitgirl love a sale!! We went to a place that sold mamas and papas an hour away and got it all cheaper too! Xx

@Tropicana1 oh god! Hope you're ok. Whirlwind already hey? Keep positive. Your baby's obviously already a strong one! Xx

@TrashKitten10 oh I understand this pain :( I have Hyperemesis and honestly I didn't even wanna be pregnant anymore when this was at it's worse. Liquids are best and try some ice lollies too if solid food is getting abit much. I used to find ready salted crisps ok, and ice lollies manageable! Xxx

stormtrooperjulian · 04/05/2019 08:57

@thumper59 I was pretty sure mine was a boy, turns out I was right but it was a 50/50 chance I guess 😂

@Tropicana1 oh wow that must have been so scary! I’m so glad you’re ok and they managed to save your ovaries. Do you have the early scan booked in? How are you feeling today?

@TrashKitten10 That sounds tough. Diluting orange juice with water can be a good drink option, keeps you hydrated and provides a little bit of energy and nutrition too.

Has anyone been to one of the Mamas and Papas baby events? Wondering if they’re worth going to.

Crossfitgirl · 04/05/2019 09:34

@tropicana1 omg that sounds so scary! I hope all is OK now and you're recovering. Did you have no idea about the endo? This little baby must be one tough determined cookie!

@trashkitten10 sounds awful, I hope you don't get any more now. Is there anything triggering it off or just bugs and pregnancy immune system? Feel better soon x

@stormtrooperjulian not been to one but they do look worthwhile, I think they have all sorts of information for new parents like info about different types of car seats etc, Baby first aid, feeding advice. We just did a couple of personal shopper experiences at both mothercare and mamas and papas and got all the same info one to one (already done a baby first aid course). There was no pressure to buy anything at either of them, so I'd always go for that cos I literally hate crowds and events where there's too many people shoving you about haha xx

sunshine1987 · 04/05/2019 10:02

@Tropicana1 that sounds awful! I hope you’re ok xx

Tropicana1 · 04/05/2019 10:31

Thanks girls. Feeling very sore and tender today, but very glad they saved my ovaries. Think I'm going to be staying in for at least another night but just sleeping mainly at the moment. @Crossfitgirl I did always wonder because I get really bad period pains etc but whenever I went to my GP about it they were never overly concerned. The doctor showed me pictures inside with all the pus and scar tissue, looked horrible.
No scan booked in yet the consultant I saw today has a different view point to the one last night and doesn't think it's necessary and to just wait for the 12 week one. If they don't book me one in I'll probably have a private one just to make sure all's well earlier

TrashKitten10 · 04/05/2019 14:12

@Crossfitgirl @stormtrooperjulian @Delilah7 @EltzBee @RanchoRelaxo Thank you ladies, it's lovely to have some company when things feel tough Thanks

@EltzBee How strange about the pork! It's quite possible it could be food, especially the other time two weeks ago which was the day after I had a pretty rich birthday meal which might have upset my stomach. This time I'm not sure I could identify anything particularly offensive I ate. However I'm an early years teacher and I was told that while I was off yesterday kids were complaining of belly ache and one was sick all over the carpet so it sounds like something may be going around. Lovely generous germ sharing children!

@Delilah7 You poor thing, that sounds miserable, are you still suffering now? I've already discovered the joy of a ready salted crisp but ice lollies are a good idea ☺️

@Tropicana1 understandable you're feeling delicate, you really went through it. Use your stay in hospital to completely rest and relax and let other people look after you. Was it due to your pregnancy that your cysts ruptured or was it just a coincidence do you know?

Delilah7 · 04/05/2019 14:15

@TrashKitten10 anything like that helped me eat Atleast something. Don't go for the ginger biscuits if it's becoming more a normal sickness thing, never helped me! I'm ok at the moment as I'm on tablets. However the nausea is back :(

We finished putting the nursery furniture up today! As I'm now 1 day over 30 weeks haha I couldn't wait for the cot any longer! It looks soooo cute.

Fivebyfive2 · 04/05/2019 16:00

@Tropicana1, have been thinking about you today! Hope you're resting and that you get to go home in a day or two xx

Dh and I are in a little quandary about telling our parents. We keep yo yo-ing between wanting to tell them (we're all pretty close, will be nice to tell them, if something goes wrong again they will be support) But part of me wonders if we should wait, in case they get really worried because of what happened before. We'll probably tell them, I just feel bad thinking it could stress them out?? What do you girls think?

@delilah7, I can't believe your nursery furniture is up, it seems to have gone so fast! (probably not for you?!) It's so exciting!! Xxx

Delilah7 · 04/05/2019 16:09

@Fivebyfive2 pure madness isn't it!! Xx

Have a look.....

@delilah7, oooowww!! It's so beautiful!! Does it make seem even more real?! You must be so pleased, it looks absolutely fab 😀

Delilah7 · 04/05/2019 16:21

@Fivebyfive2 OH thinks the dresser should go next to the cot but it'll be too cramped I think!! X
