I've started this thread to have somewhere for those of us who have been through the IVF/ ICSI journey and have finally got our BFP! For support, symptoms chat and whatever else anyway wants to chat about....

@Positivity86 I called up and they advised to continue until week 12. They said some people phase them out and others just stop. I think I will phase them out at week 12 once I've had my scan and know everything is ok.

I'm looking forward to stopping them altogether now. Only a couple more weeks to go....

I was just told that my cyclogest supply would run out at some point in my tenth week which it did and I didn’t wean off them or anything.

Hi everyone, I am so pleased to be joining this thread. Just got my BFP today after my second cycle of ICSI. Good strong line on my OTD... Phone won't let me post pic for some reason...

I know I am going to be quite anxious because I have adenomyosis so double risk of miscarriage... But right now I am just happy to be pregnant today.

brighteye3986 · 12/04/2019 09:29

Welcome and congratulations @Thund4rcat

I have my fingers crossed everything goes well for you

Congratulations @Thund4rcat 😊

Twiglet2353 · 13/04/2019 13:59

Hi everyone, can I join? I'm 5+5 following our first cycle of IVF with a blocked tube, endometriosis and clomid resistance.

As you've all previously mentioned I'm feeling nervous and apprehensive about getting excited, but also feel so happy to be able to see that right in this moment I am pregnant.

Had a scan at 5+2 as was getting sharp pain but was due to some expanded follicles left on my ovaries. Scan showed a gestational sac and the start of a yolk sac. Next scan on the 29th.

Wishing us all a happy and healthy 40ish weeks

brighteye3986 · 13/04/2019 14:11

Congratulations @Twiglet2353

Hello @twiglet2353! Nice to see you here too

Twiglet2353 · 15/04/2019 07:16

I'm 6 weeks today and just feel like I have zero symptoms, apart from sore boobs which I'm guessing are down to the progesterone pessaries.
When did everyone else start to get nausea or heightened sense of smell etc?

Agog123 · 15/04/2019 07:34

Hello all, joining as have got my BFP after a FET. Mum to a 2yr old from my fresh round of IVF/ICSI.

Official infertility diagnosis is low motility, but I’ve conceived naturally 3x and lost all of them shortly after a positive pregnancy test. I think my issue is more hormonal.

A 28 week placental abruption and premature delivery of my son makes this journey horribly scary for me.

Wishing you all a healthy 40 week pregnancy!

Agog123 · 15/04/2019 07:38

@twiglet2353 I’ve been sick since a positive pregnancy test, I was with my son too, and it only ended at the same time as I stopped the progesterone. My boobs are also twice the size and super painful - but i breastfed my first baby and I think I’m just more in tune with how they feel.

Hopefully you’ll be one of the lucky ones and escape the nausea!

womaninkent · 15/04/2019 08:12

Welcome @agog123 and all the best for a healthy pregnancy.
@twiglet2353 I am now 14 weeks. I never really had the heightened sense of smell. I had some bouts of nausea from about 6 weeks but no sickness. I spent ages worrying about my lack of sickness and limited nausea but based on the 12 week scan everything seems to be fine. When I was worrying I saw plenty of posts from women who had no symptoms at all and a perfectly healthy pregnancy.

brighteye3986 · 15/04/2019 08:51

Welcome @Agog123

@Twiglet2353 I've had nausea from about 8 weeks which seems to have eased the past few days and I'm now 11 weeks. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different so it's difficult to compare yourself to others. I have seen others who have had nothing but sickness from around 6 weeks until around 14-15 weeks and others who have had hardly anything at all.

Positivity86 · 15/04/2019 08:57

Congratulations @Agog123.

@Twiglet2353 similar to others I had nausea from 6 to 11 weeks but no vomiting. My boobs were only sore for 1 week and then just started growing! Sense of smell has been crazy but settling now.

My friend who was pregnant with twins recently never had any symptoms during her pregnancy apart from bloating! Everyone really is different 😊

Twiglet2353 · 15/04/2019 10:34

Thank you everyone. It's so hard not to be anxious following infertility and I'm fighting the urge to book a private scan every week 🤦‍♀️.
Good to hear everyone is different, and congratulations to your all on your pregnancies Thanks

Positivity86 · 15/04/2019 12:05

We had our scan today and everything looks great! Just an incredible experience to see our little one wriggling around 😌 I'm 12+5 and baby is measuring 2 days ahead...73rd percentile so nice and big 😂

womaninkent · 15/04/2019 18:06

Amazing picture @positivity86. So glad the scan went well.

64632K · 15/04/2019 18:31

Positivity86 thats a great scan

Summerloving17 · 15/04/2019 18:42

@positivity86 congratulations wonderful news!!!

@twiglet, unfortunately I am booking a private scan every week 🙈my anxiety is through the roof partly due to having a large sub chorionic haematoma next to the baby which increases my chance of miscarriage to 1:3 when it should be 1:25 or less at 9 weeks! Hopefully when we get over 12 weeks it will improve! 🤞

Hope everyone is well xx

Twiglet2353 · 15/04/2019 18:48

@Positivity86 wow so detailed. Congratulations!

@Summerloving17 How much is your local centre charging? We have one that charges £90 from 6 weeks and another that is £60 from 8 weeks. I can imagine the SCH is really scary for you.
Roll on 12 weeks, but of course we will he anxious all the way through I suspect x

Summerloving17 · 15/04/2019 19:14

@Twiglet yes think £90 is standard for early scans, we’ve got quite a few ultrasound direct places near by and there’s a private obstetrician near us who has a clinic too (and does gender scans from 15weeks). I’ll have one at 9.5 and then 11 so I guess only two as my others were at the EPU. Agree I am likely to be worried the whole time!!!

brighteye3986 · 15/04/2019 19:15

@Twiglet2353 and @Summerloving17 do your hospital not do a viability scan around 7-8 weeks??

Great scan @Positivity86

I'm getting excited and anxious for mine next week. Although I've had no signs to say anything is wrong I can't help but worry a little. I'm still doing the check every time I go to the toilet.

OP posts:
Twiglet2353 · 15/04/2019 19:56

@brighteye3986 yes I have a scan booked at 8 weeks, 2 weeks today, but now it's past the point of peeing on sticks, I just feel like I need extra reassurance with my lack of symptoms.
And I know it's daft because it's just a snapshot and then I'd end up wanting one every other day "just to check" 🙈

Agog123 · 16/04/2019 06:17

Hi all, so I’m getting nervous. I didn’t do a test since I got a positive at 7dp5dt and then did my OTD yesterday. Line was half as dark as the control line, I did a CBD and it said 2-3 weeks. According to my IVF transfer I should be 4.4 weeks now - agh. Does this sound similar to everyone else? I can’t remember what happened last time - I mean I remember POAS line darkness anxiety but not much more than that.

Summerloving17 · 16/04/2019 06:26

That’s bang on so don’t worry! CBD is 1-2 weeks when 3-4 weeks pregnant then 2-3 weeks when you are 4-5 weeks pregnant, should change to 3+ next week. Congratulations!! Xx
