@brighteye3986 I had my midwife appointment on the 8th March and the letter with the scan date came through on the 13th March.

brighteye3986 · 04/04/2019 10:38

@womaninkent oh that was really quick. I know Medway are very slow and I will probably have to chase them for it to happen. How far will you be at your scan tomorrow?

brighteye3986 · 04/04/2019 11:01

@womaninkent I'm also not sure if there are delays as I have to be referred to see a consultant firstly due to IVF but also because I have previously had operations on my stomach and have some quite big scars that will be affected in my pregnancy. I wouldn't have thought that would delay my scan though.

@brighteye3986 all being well I will be 12 weeks 4 days tomorrow. I am considered low risk (goodness knows how) so that might have sped up getting the scan.

brighteye3986 · 04/04/2019 13:33

@womaninkent what a great time to have your scan though. It's so strange that even from Medway to Pembury it's so different!

@Boboelephant great news about your scan!

@womaninkent good luck with your scan tomorrow, you must be excited

@brighteye3986 my scan appointment took just over a week to come through, I was nearly 11 weeks by then. Hope it comes soon for you. Glad your sister is doing ok.

@Summerloving17 sorry to hear that, take care of yourself x

brighteye3986 · 04/04/2019 16:07

@Positivity86 I will give them until next Wednesday as I'm going away for a long weekend. If it hasn't come by then I will give them a call. I still have a couple of weeks as only 10 weeks on Monday but don't want to get it too late. Also want to be able to see if DH can come or needs to arrange time off for it.

womaninkent · 05/04/2019 21:47

Thanks. Any news on your scan @brighteye3986?

brighteye3986 · 06/04/2019 05:07

@womaninkent not yet. I decided to wait until Monday as I will be 10 weeks and then I will chase it. I just want to know when it will be.

Great news on scans! Mine’s not til Tuesday when I’ll be 13+3 😥

brighteye3986 · 06/04/2019 11:28

@Saltisford I'm expecting mine to be in my 13th week.

Anyone else got a visible bump going on? None of my clothes fit and it's starting to get a little hard too. I'm not on the skinny side so unsure if that has added to the bump showing more. I am going to go shopping tomorrow to try and get some maternity clothes as I have found out my local new look is one of the only ones that's stock maternity wear. And if I'm not successful I will pop to primark and see if I can grab some slightly bigger sizes so I have nice clothes to wear. I've been living in leggings and jumpers this week. Not great for work...

I have had to wear leggings literally since the transfer! Now I’m wearing maternity trousers too. H and m I found quite good for buying floaty long tops that look ok with leggings.

brighteye3986 · 06/04/2019 13:01

I'm planning on H&M shopping on Wednesday when I drag DH out for the day 😀

Positivity86 · 06/04/2019 13:21

@Saltisford I'm the same as you, been in leggings since the ivf cycle. I was getting sick of them so bought maternity jeans 3 weeks ago and love them! I've got a visible bump but I am usually quite slim so not sure if that's why.

@brighteye3986 I really recommend H&M for maternity clothes!

Summerloving17 · 06/04/2019 14:47

Ladies I’m back in as baby is ok despite my massive bleed earlier this week. 8 weeks tomorrow 🙌
Not in the maternity clothes yet but already looking at options ☺️ Also thinking I’m going to ask work if I can finish at c 20werks to avoid commuting on the tube over summer, this baby is too precious to risk!! Xx

PrayingandHoping · 06/04/2019 14:50

@Summerloving17 yeah so pleased! Have u stopped bleeding now? Did they say what they thought cause was?

Summerloving17 · 06/04/2019 14:56

@Prayingandhoping yes bleeding only lasted a day and then stopped but it was heavy, went straight from airport to EPU! They said it could have been from the other embryo trying to implant or some scarring so basically weren’t sure and it could happen again as there still looks like there’s a clot there. I just burst into tears when I saw that little heartbeat again! The baby and it’s sac all looks good and on track. I’m still a nervous wreck!!! Xx

PrayingandHoping · 06/04/2019 15:01

@Summerloving17 just brilliant news.

It's all so nerve wracking. Do you think that will ever stop?? 😶

brighteye3986 · 06/04/2019 15:14

@Summerloving17 glad to hear everything is ok.

OP posts:
Positivity86 · 06/04/2019 15:15

@Summerloving17 that is such great news! You must be so relieved. I don't blame you not wanting to face the tube over the summer, babies come first!! x

ginandtonicformeplease · 06/04/2019 17:39

Hi everyone, hope I'm ok to join! I'm 8w+4 today. Due in mid November fingers crossed 🤞

Last year I had a MMC at 9 weeks, so the clinic want to scan me this coming week to make sure everything is ok, which is great.

I had my booking in appointment quite early, at 7weeks, but the scan letter has only just come through - it's not until 14w+2. Am I wrong to be fuming that it's so late? I know it's recommended before 13+5, and being slightly older than average (37) I am concerned that there'll be problems. I also take medication to manage a long term health condition that can affect the baby, so the scan is vital.

I want to book in for a private scan - I suspect whoever made the appointment has just looked at my LMP and worked out the date from that, disregarding the date that I gave the midwife at booking in from the clinic. I'm not sure how to persuade DH it's worth the money though.

Sorry for the lengthy first post!

brighteye3986 · 06/04/2019 18:06

Welcome @ginandtonicformeplease I would ring them and advise of your dates and they may be able to bring it forward. If not I'd speak with your midwife and get some advise from them.

I'm 10 weeks Monday and had my booking appt at 8+3 but still waiting for my scan appt. I'm definitely going to chase on Monday as everyone else seems to have received theirs pretty soon after their appt.

Good luck for your scan next week. Have you already had a viability scan or is this your first scan since your BFP?
