I've started this thread to have somewhere for those of us who have been through the IVF/ ICSI journey and have finally got our BFP! For support, symptoms chat and whatever else anyway wants to chat about....

@brighteye3986 can't wait until the scan next week. Just will be such a relief to see everything is ok 🤞

Symptoms are fuuuunnn 🤦🏼‍♀️ and increasing. Never ending trips to the loo, stomach doing gymnastics, heartburn/reflux and upset digestive system

I'm also on all the meds until 12 weeks. In a routine now and none of it bothers me, even the 2 injections a day, but will be a milestone to stop 😁

Positivity86 · 15/03/2019 10:57

@brighteye3986 the nausea is a fun one isn't it...feel like I'm in a viscous cycle of feeling sick and then eating to try and help it! I'm much worse in the evenings too. I love food normally and usually so healthy, but everything is so unappealing and I can't bear to cook! Living off crackers, cheese, pasta and potatoes! Trying to force down fruit when I can. My sense of smell is crazy too and driving DH mad 😂

brighteye3986 · 15/03/2019 14:00

@Positivity86 I seem to get the nausea every other day at the moment. Today I just feel icky altogether. Not feeling myself at all. Boobs are still sore which is my main check everyday. Last night I just sat and cried for no apparent reason! But was blubbering at everything.

My taste buds have definitely changed and I don't like as much foods as I did. I had steak the other day which was one of my favourites but I couldn't eat it...

Hello, beautiful mommies! 😉🌸
It feels good to read some of the updates and how you are all feeling.
As for me, I am holding my breath until next Thursday when I am going to have my scan. Already shaking, hope all is fine.
Symptoms wise I keep having the ones that I‘ve mentioned above: toilets, breasts, and fatigue. But I have a week off work this week, so I am having a calmer time time in general and can have my rests. So really not sure of I am being tired or plain lazy at the moment.... ☺️
Come next week, come...!

brighteye3986 · 20/03/2019 11:28

Anyone else having their scans tomorrow feeling a little nervous? I have been fine but today I'm starting to get a bit more nervous now that it is so close. Although I've had no symptoms to think otherwise that something is wrong there is still that little niggle there.

I've still got nausea, sore boobs, trapped wind (TMI- but this seems to be my worse symptom so far), bloat that makes me look like I'm at least 12 weeks already (only 7+2) and extreme tiredness- so much that I wake up feeling like I need to go back to bed already!

@brighteye3986 yep! Same!

womaninkent · 20/03/2019 11:55

Good luck to everyone having scans tomorrow.

Positivity86 · 20/03/2019 13:17

Good luck for all the scans tomorrow!

@brighteye3986 I was really bad last week with trapped wind so I'm with you on that one!

brighteye3986 · 21/03/2019 13:42

@womaninkent just checking for my scan I do need an empty bladder?

Don't want to turn up with an empty bladder if I need it to be full and vice versa.

PrayingandHoping · 21/03/2019 13:47

@brighteye3986 my clinic told me to
Empty my bladder when I arrived. So don't worry

Just home from mine. All perfect. Totally over the moon 😁😁😁

brighteye3986 · 21/03/2019 13:52

That's good @PrayingandHoping. I'm on the understanding it's an internal scan so would need an empty bladder....

Positivity86 · 21/03/2019 14:35

@brighteye3986 yes empty bladder for the scan! Good luck 😊

brighteye3986 · 21/03/2019 15:02

Sorry @brighteye3986 I was told it didn’t matter either way so long as I was comfortable.
Great news @prayingandhoping!

Boboelephant · 21/03/2019 16:20

@PrayingandHoping great news!!

Mine also was perfect. 😁😁😁😁 So happy!! Although I'm going to be very nervous next week as 8 weeks is when I had my two losses. One day at a time.

@brighteye3986 hope yours went well!

womaninkent · 21/03/2019 16:27

Great news too @boboelephant. Got my fingers crossed for you for next week.

Positivity86 · 21/03/2019 17:22

brighteye3986 · 21/03/2019 18:30

@brighteye3986 such lovely news, congrats!!! It's so great seeing/ hearing about all these scans 😊

brighteye3986 · 22/03/2019 05:00

Thanks @Positivity86 😃

It was so scary though- my heart was beating so fast and then they were like there's your baby and it's heart beating.... my body just relaxed so much then. Although it just feels like now I've got over one hurdle we are onto the next with the wait for the 12 week scan.... 😬

OP posts:
womaninkent · 22/03/2019 06:48

@brighteye3986 I found the first scan so helpful and at the moment waiting for the 12 week scan has been nowhere near as bad as waiting for that first scan. Hope it’s the same for you. Mind you, still two more weeks to go so plenty of time to go a bit crazy yet!

brighteye3986 · 22/03/2019 07:00

Ha ha @womaninkent

I've got midwife next Thursday and then hoping I will get my scan date through not long after that! It just feels like everything is a waiting game.... first it's the wait to be able to start meds, then the wait for EC, then the wait for ET, then the 2WW for testing, then the 7-8 week scan the list is endless......

It has definitely put my kid at ease though... I kept thinking something was going to be wrong or it would be ectopic but nope everything is fine.

I found a quote online this morning "Stop being afraid of what could go wrong. Start being excited about the things that could go right!"

womaninkent · 22/03/2019 16:23

@brighteye3986 great quote.
