I've started this thread to have somewhere for those of us who have been through the IVF/ ICSI journey and have finally got our BFP! For support, symptoms chat and whatever else anyway wants to chat about....

@Twiglet2353 I felt a little like this at first. Now I have a happy wriggling little baby and am 13 weeks tomorrow. Also don't forget if you had a fresh cycle your body is still recovering from all the stims etc. I had lots of cramping and back ache too.

Don't give up hope 💕

Thanks @brighteye3986 @WorriedButterfly, such an anxious time for us all!

Will let you know how the scan goes tomorrow Smile

brighteye3986 · 28/04/2019 19:10

Good luck @Twiglet2353

@Twiglet2353 good luck for the scan tomorrow. My symptoms seem to come and go too but like @brighteye3986 said our bodies are still recovering from all the medication. Let us know how you get on tomorrow.

I'm going crazy waiting for my scan I keep expecting to find blood when I wipe

womaninkent · 28/04/2019 22:31

My symptoms came and went so many times in the first trimester. From everything I’ve read that is completely normal. Try not to worry!!

brighteye3986 · 29/04/2019 06:00

@DaisyMay25 I still check every time I wipe and I'm 13 weeks today!

Good luck today, @Twiglet2353 💐

I started panicking yesterday about symptoms easing so I did a digital this morning and got 3+; that's good, right? I'm 5+2 so still another 10 days away from my scan. I can't bear the waiting 😫

WorriedButterfly · 29/04/2019 11:57

Hope it went well @Twiglet2353 🤞🏼

DaisyMay25 · 29/04/2019 12:01

@brighteye3986 glad to know I'm not crazy haha

@RedPandaFluff my scan is the same day as yours so we can try keep each other sane. The digital is a good sign for sure!

@Twiglet2353 hope today went well!

@Boboelephant glad your latest scan went well! You gonna find out the sexes?

@WorriedButterfly how're you doing?

WorriedButterfly · 29/04/2019 12:13

Thanks for checking in @DaisyMay25, I'm ok, I had a big cry at 3am this morning- very unlike me! I don't know why I feel so down and that something has gone wrong, I think it's the lack of symptoms, I spoke to the clinic this morning and they tried to reassure me and brought my scan forward to Wednesday. Still feels like a lifetime and doubt I'll see anything as I am only 6+4 by then, just keeping my fingers tightly crossed. How is your sickness, has it improved at all?

How are you doing @Thund4rcat?

DaisyMay25 · 29/04/2019 12:18

@WorriedButterfly I'm glad they've brought it forward, I've got mine at 6+1 so they must be able to see something after six weeks.. try not to let it get to you too much, which is know is very hard. Lack of symptoms doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. My sickness comes and goes, I just try and eat as much as I can when I'm not feeling sick. Only two days til your scan, try to remain positive until then.

PrayingandHoping · 29/04/2019 12:29

Just had my 12 week scan. Measured exactly correct and all perfect.

Feels so strange to have got this far after so long! Like it's actually happening....

brighteye3986 · 29/04/2019 12:49

That's great news @PrayingandHoping

Ahh that's great, @PrayingandHoping - you must be so happy!

@DaisyMay25 is your scan on Wednesday 8th?

@WorriedButterfly 2 more days - you can do it 💐

DaisyMay25 · 29/04/2019 13:21

@RedPandaFluff ahh no, Thursday 9th, brain must be half asleep!

@PrayingandHoping what a lovely scan! Fantastic news

Twiglet2353 · 29/04/2019 17:50

Thanks everyone. Scan went well and have a wriggly baby measuring bang on 8 weeks

All meds stopped. No more pessaries. So scary but the unit say my body should be producing its own now.

Lovely photo @PrayingandHoping xx

WorriedButterfly · 29/04/2019 17:57

Well done @Twiglet2353 ! Great news :)

Beautiful pic @PrayingandHoping!

Thanks @DaisyMay25 I think just having the glimmer of hope after a BFP and the thought of it being taken away is tough. Keeping everything crossed for my scan on Wednesday. x

RedPandaFluff · 29/04/2019 18:05

Ahhhhh @Twiglet2353 that's fantastic news! So happy for you!

(Sorry @DaisyMay25 - it's me that can't count to ten 😄)

brighteye3986 · 29/04/2019 20:08

@Twiglet2353 glad everything is ok.

We have booked a private gender scan for when I will be 17+3 as my NHS scan isn't until I'm 22+2 and I can't wait that long. Although we are having a gender reveal so I am hoping they will write it down for us rather than show us as we want to be in on the surprise as much as everyone else. I have a friend who has offered to sort the actual gender reveal for us and we are happy to sort the party part of it. Anyone else planning on this or everyone else keeping it to themselves?

OP posts:
DaisyMay25 · 29/04/2019 20:12

@brighteye3986 how exciting! I want a gender reveal but I'd have no idea what I'd do, DHs step mother has said she'd rather not know but that'd be impossible! What you doing for your reveal?

brighteye3986 · 29/04/2019 20:23

@DaisyMay25 I'm thinking helium balloons in a box. You get to keep them after then too! Card factory do inflated balloon bouquets for around £15 which I don't think is too bad. I'm not liking the cake idea as I think it's a bit boring and traditional. My MIL has been a bit like that and doesn't think we should find out or tell people but at the end of the day it's our pregnancy and after everything we have been through to get here I'm doing what I want to do!

OP posts:
DaisyMay25 · 29/04/2019 20:36

@brighteye3986 that's cute, you can keep those forever then. I know what you mean about cakes. I've seen the confetti cannons and the confetti in balloons that you pop too but I'm unsure on either of them. MILs can be difficult can't they!

WorriedButterfly · 29/04/2019 21:31

@DaisyMay25 I think your last comment is for a whole other thread!! (About MILs) 😂

Missmonkeypenny · 29/04/2019 21:33

Could I join please? I had my BFP yesterday at 5dp5dt which was a shock but I just had a feeling!

It was our first go and first transfer after a freeze all cycle ( OHSS risk ) so am over the moon after 3 years of trying!
