I've started this thread to have somewhere for those of us who have been through the IVF/ ICSI journey and have finally got our BFP! For support, symptoms chat and whatever else anyway wants to chat about....

@brighteye3986 oh good luck! I'm sure everything is fine! Enjoy x

Boboelephant · 24/04/2019 11:22

@PrayingandHoping brilliant scan photo and yay for 12 weeks tomorrow!!

@brighteye3986 good luck!!!!!

I was 12 weeks on Monday and scan Friday. Eek!!

CFKent · 24/04/2019 12:21

I had my first scan yesterday at 9 weeks. Made everything feel more real seeing that heartbeat and baby even moved a little. Now I've got to wait for first midwife appointment.

brighteye3986 · 24/04/2019 13:36

And here is my baby! Measuring perfect at 12+2

Congrats on the scans - it must feel amazing to have that reassurance!

I'm losing my mind - I'm only 4+4, and my scan is in two weeks time. I'm constantly googling "empty gestational sac" and "early miscarriage" even though the worst hasn't happened (yet). I'm absolutely terrified 😫

I'm constantly trying to find ways to reassure myself - I'm thinking about doing another Clearblue digital on Saturday in the hopes of seeing 3+, but even if I do get that, I'll convince myself that the sac is empty but still producing hcg etc. I just can't believe that this could really happen for me 😔

PrayingandHoping · 24/04/2019 13:44

Yeah! Lovely pic @brighteye3986

@RedPandaFluff I was in disbelief until
The first scan too. Try and keep your mind busy and relax as much as possible x

Positivity86 · 24/04/2019 15:49

Great news on the scan @brighteye3986. It's amazing to see isn't it!

@RedPandaFluff try not to worry, but I think it's very natural to feel that way after going through such a journey. I too couldn't believe it could happen but it can and it will! 😊. Try and keep your mind busy on other things until your scan.

brighteye3986 · 24/04/2019 15:57

Thanks all.

@RedPandaFluff try not to worry. I didn't get my 3+ until I was around 6 weeks. If you read their result guide it advises 1-2 weeks is 3-4 weeks pregnant, 2-3 is 4-5 weeks pregnant and 3+ is 5+ weeks pregnant. I think a lot of people don't read this and get upset/ disappointed when they don't get the result they were hoping for. I would hold out until 5-6 weeks if not 6 weeks to test again for the 3+ result. Sorry I'm not trying to put a downer on things, I just don't want you to stress and worry when you don't get the result you were hoping for.

Mind if I join? Although tad bit early, I've got my blood test tomorrow for the clinic to tell me if it worked or not but I caved and tested on Saturday!!
Just had ICSI and tomorrow my OTD is my birthday so I know it'll be good news!
(Been TTC for two years with a mc 18 months ago)
I'm four weeks today and trying to remain positive!
I don't even know if it's normal to get nausea at this stage but I have it from when I wake up til I go to sleep

RedPandaFluff · 24/04/2019 17:37

Thank you . . . and you're all totally right. Especially what you're saying about the digis, @brighteye3986 - it's too much of a gamble and would send my spirits plummeting if it hadn't progressed, which is quite likely by the sounds of it.

It's lovely to see all your scan photos, especially since you were in my shoes once and didn't think it could happen for you!

I feel like IVF is just continually replacing one set of worries and anxieties with new ones . . . 😏

RedPandaFluff · 24/04/2019 17:37

Hi @DaisyMay25 😁

brighteye3986 · 24/04/2019 18:21

Welcome @DaisyMay25 and good luck

@RedPandaFluff I honestly thought it would never happen. I even said to DH today as we were walking into the antenatal part of the hospital that I never thought I'd be walking that part of the hospital- now it looks like I will be doing it a few more times! Don't get me wrong I still tested every few days using cheap tests from wilko- you get 2 tests for £1 but decided at 6 weeks to do the CB digital and once I got the 3+ stopped testing. The worries and anxieties do move on with each step that progresses but having today's scan has made me relax a little. You just need to take each part as it comes.

Great news on the scans @CFKent and @brighteye3986!!

@RedPandaFluff totally understand how you feel. We have all been through such hard journeys falling or staying pregnant that it is hard to believe it can all work out. I have felt like you many times too. Just try and keep your mind busy and believe that you can get a happy ending!

@DaisyMay25 eeek congratulations!! So nice that we are both here from the other thread 18 months ago! Hope you get a lovely strong line today and happy birthday!

WorriedButterfly · 25/04/2019 07:22

@DaisyMay25 congratulations! So pleased for you and Happy Birthday!
Happy to see you on this thread!

@RedPandaFluff as others have said it is so hard to do but try and stay positive, I have been thinking of testing again, but won't let myself, it's not going to change anything. Stay strong and believe!

DaisyMay25 · 25/04/2019 21:05

@WorriedButterfly thank you!! How far on are you now?

@RedPandaFluff hi!! How you coping?? Early pregnancy is so hard, every little twinge has me worried too but try and remain positive

@brighteye3986 thank you

@Boboelephant so happy to see you here too!! How're you getting on? The twins growing fine?

Had my blood test today, they said they look for anything over 80, mine came back at 260 so they said they're not surprised I feel sick, I'm happy the number is high! Got my scan in two weeks

WorriedButterfly · 25/04/2019 22:16

@DaisyMay25 I am 6 weeks tomorrow (hopefully) scan is a week on Tuesday.

I have had some right ovary pain last night and tonight, not really cramps more a dull ache - it's really worrying me as it's quite persistent- has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Hope you're all doing well. x

Thund4rcat · 26/04/2019 18:17

Anyone else really struggling with sickness and feeling guilty for moaning about it? It is really getting me down and I'm already thinking "I'm not doing this again" if this pregnancy works out. I've realised I was so focused on getting pregnant I was totally unprepared for dealing with actual pregnancy.

DaisyMay25 · 26/04/2019 18:28

@WorriedButterfly I get some sharp pains too I think it's them still recovering after the stims, I don't think it's too much to worry about. Between that, the usual pregnancy cramps and the progesterone pessaries I think we're going to be feeling all sorts.

@Thund4rcat yes! I have it all day! It's nice to have symptoms but when I wanna eat a nice meal I've ordered it's not fun! I think there's only about 10 more weeks of it if we're lucky though!

brighteye3986 · 26/04/2019 18:39

@Thund4rcat I was pretty lucky and didn't have sickness just nausea. Some days worse than others. I'm almost 13 weeks and it is definitely easing

I need some help and advise people on cyclogest.... since having my scan on Wednesday I have reduced them to 2 a day, I'm now trying to work out if I should continue through next week at 2 a day- I have enough to last until next Sunday or to stop this weekend?? What's everyone's opinions??

OP posts:
PrayingandHoping · 26/04/2019 19:00

@brighteye3986 did your clinic not give u advise? Can u ring and ask

I stopped my progesterone injections when I hit 12 weeks and the same day dropped my cyclogest from 2 twice a day to 1 twice a day. I do that until 14 weeks and then go to 1 once a day then stop at 15 weeks (can't wait!)

brighteye3986 · 26/04/2019 19:03

@PrayingandHoping I rang my clinic when I was 10 weeks and they just said carry on until the end of 12 weeks, they also said some people reduce it to was off of it and others just stop. They weren't very helpful on that part really. I was doing 1 three times a day and once I had my 12 week scan have reduced to 1 twice a day. I'm thinking I may reduce to 1 a day next week and then stop at the end of next week...

PrayingandHoping · 26/04/2019 19:07

Sounds a good plan 😁

Boboelephant · 27/04/2019 20:40

@DaisyMay25 the twins are great thank you! Had my scan yesterday at 12w4d and both have grown 4cm in 3 weeks and good strong heartbeats. They are massive wrigglers and the scan took 2 hours(!) but relieved all is well. 😀😀 Great news about your blood test!

@WorriedButterfly I've had pretty regular aches and twinges all through first trimester. I think it's your ovaries settling down after the stims and then uterus growing etc. All been fine in my case!

@brighteye3986 sounds like a plan. My clinic just said to stop at 12 weeks so I continued up to my scan yesterday and had my first progesterone free day today! Got put on aspirin by the consultant yesterday so not entirely drug free but so happy to give up the pessaries!!

Twiglet2353 · 27/04/2019 20:57

7+5 and I feel like all my 'symptoms' over the past week have disappeared. No nausea. No sore boobs. Occasionally sensitive nipples on an evening. Sat now having shooty vagina pains.
Two days until my viability scan with the ivf unit but I just don't FEEL pregnant ifykwim?

@Boboelephant So pleased to hear that things are progressing well. What a blessing 👶🏻 👶🏻 BearBear

WorriedButterfly · 28/04/2019 18:16

@Twiglet2353 hang in there love, you're almost there for your scan and you had such a good scan last week, try to stay positive- easier said than done. My symptoms are all over the place, sure my boobs are smaller and less painful than they were and I'm less bloated so I have given up quite a chunk of hope, but DH is asking me to keep going...so I am trying...
