@stormtrooperjulian ours were £5 each at the John Radcliffe, they had a machine in the reception there to get a receipt to hand over in exchange for pics. £12.50 is crazy! Our private scan in 2 weeks includes all the images on a USB as well as a few printed too.

I had a Next voucher to use up as if expired Monday so bought first thing for Bean yesterday, eek! Little sleep suits which are just so cute. Went 3 to 6 in case they're big or a fast grower or something lol!

Still got very pale pink CM today. Scan in an hour. Pls keep your fingers crossed for me!

EltzBee · 03/03/2019 08:42

@AngeloMysterioso hope it goes okay Hun, fingers crossed for you.

CookieWaffle · 03/03/2019 09:46

@AngeloMysterioso thinking of you, let us know how it goes xx

sunshine1987 · 03/03/2019 11:24

@angelomysterioso keeping everything crossed for you lovely x

AngeloMysterioso · 03/03/2019 11:28

Scan done and back home... all looks totally fine and normal. Our bean is a little on the small side, measuring at 6 weeks exactly when going by LMP I should be 6+4, but they were able to see a heartbeat and said the difference was nothing to worry about.

So, for today at least, I can stop worrying.

EltzBee · 03/03/2019 12:12

@AngeloMysterioso that's good news, they will probably update your date when you get to 12 weeks scan, is quite normal for it to change by a few days as it depends when your egg actually released, when it was fertilised and when it implanted which can be anything between 5 and 10 days itself. So try not to worry about a few days as that's quite normal too :)
Pop your feet up, have a rest and look after yourself today!

EltzBee · 03/03/2019 19:05

Has anyone else been told they're Rheusus D Negative? I got a letter and blood sample request through this weekend which I have to take to my next midwife appointment and a scary sounding leaflet!

AngeloMysterioso · 03/03/2019 19:08

Thanks @EltzBee - it's so hard not to panic though! My CM is actually redder now than it was earlier but unless it turns to proper bleeding or i start to feel pain I'm going to try and probably fail not to stress too much about it.

Crossfitgirl · 03/03/2019 19:11

@eltzbee they are so cute!! I saw some super cute Peter rabbit sleep suits in mothercare outlet, but they were all in preemie sizes otherwise I would have got one.

That list is awesome. I'm copying it! I'm also going to get a nappy bin for upstairs for night time feeds, was umming and ahhing but your list has confirmed it for me. Hadn't thought about another changing mat for our bedroom!

@angelomysterioso I am soooo pleased all is well! Great to have good news after a scan, and how amazing to have seen the heartbeat! and yes The date changed by a few days for most of us at our 12 week scans xxx

Crossfitgirl · 03/03/2019 19:13

@eltzbee no what does the leaflet say? If it's to do with antibodies in your blood, they just give you an injection when you're a bit further on and it resolves the issue. Might be thinking of something totally different though xx

EltzBee · 03/03/2019 19:54

@Crossfitgirl glad my list is useful! Yeah I figured during the day I can put nappies outside in the wheelie bin but at night in my PJs an upstairs bin to lock the smell away was a good idea! Changing mats are quite cheap and anything to make night time changes easier in the first few months I hope!

I'll let you know if I add to it! I've decided to bottle feed, but if you're breast feeding also add nipple guards and nipple cream to go on your list, and if you choose to express a pump and bottles and cleaning things still.

Yeah it seems to be my blood cells do something weird so they will do a DNA test on the baby DNA from my blood to see if it's positive or negative blood type, if it's negative it's fine but if it's positive tour then my body antibodies might try and attack it during labor or if I I bought take a knock off something so they apparently give an Anti D injection at 28 weeks and at labour to prevent it? Made of blood donors blood plasma.. the leaflet made it sound scary, didn't help it came literally with the bag to put the blood sample in, leaflet and a key folded so I was like what's this! Hopefully it isn't as scary as it sounds!

Ooh a Mothercare outlet? We went to one near us that's closing end of march which had loads of clothes reduced. But resisted temptation for now 😂

Crossfitgirl · 04/03/2019 07:10

OK girls. Had such a horrible dream I can't even tell DH about it.

So I dreamt I was pregnant with 2 babies. One was our baby, the other was from a previous relationship but somehow wasn't far along as mine and DH's. In the dream I knew I hadn't cheated, but knew DH wouldn't believe me, so I decided to abort the other baby.

Went to have the abortion, and my best mates husband was there and sat me down to watch cartoons and play computer games. I asked if this was part of the appointment since I hate both, and he just said you're having a "dark MOT" aren't you?
And shook his head at me!

I mortified that he shook his head rather than being understanding so I went off and sat somewhere else.

When I got taken in, I went to the toilet and as weird dreams are, I knew I'd had the abortion.

I then realised with total horror that, I'd forgotten / not even thought that mine and DH's baby was in there too, and realised with absolute horror that I must have aborted ours too.

Then I woke up 😥😥😥

Delilah7 · 04/03/2019 09:00

@EltzBee hi lovely.
Make sure you do the rhesus. My sister in law had this ( she was positive I think ) and my nephew has special needs due to them not getting on top of things with it regards to checking her notes correctly and finding out in labour that he's had lots of complications. Highly recommend. Aslong as you're on top of it ( if you're positive ) baby will be fine as my niece had blood transfusions whilst she was inside and is completely fine.

Please don't think I've commented to scare anyone but I just know how important it is. Xx

EltzBee · 04/03/2019 09:07

@Delilah7 thanks hun, oh yes will definitely be on top of it! From what I can tell it is only a problem if the Mum is D Negative (15% of pregnant women apparently), and if the baby is Positive, as the cells try and fight each other! Will be asking the midwife when I see her next, which is 2 or 3 weeks away still. It sounds like the DNA test they do on the baby is pretty accurate at working out if its positive/negative to tell if there would be an issue. But yes will definitely be saying if there's any risk to give me the Anti-D injections!

@Crossfitgirl oh gosh what a horrible weird dream! Bless you. Our brains do half do weird things to us, don't they.

sunshine1987 · 04/03/2019 09:08

@eltzbee it’s nothing to worry about just ensure you get the antibodies injections if babies blood comes back as positive blood type and you’re negative. It won’t harm them but helps you protect baby. If you have any bleeds at all just made sure you get the injection within 48 hours too. But honestly it sounds scarier than it actually is xx

canonlyhopexo · 04/03/2019 09:15

I've never heard of the rhesus blood injections etc but I would just push to get it all double checked especially if you're not entirely sure what's what.

Lady with the spotting, totally understand you'd be a worried. I would be too but I think it's common so try not to worry or do too much reading into it! (Sorry baby brain I can't remember the OP usernames!)

@Crossfitgirl that is horrible dream to have! I've had some really vivid dreams since being pregnant and it's so hard to shake them off! I found reading something nice before bed has helped. I had a dream quite early on that I knew I was pregnant but thought I'd had a period so used a tampon and when I took the tampon out.. well the baby was stuck to it. It was awful. It took me a couple of days to move on from that one.

I woke up in the night feeling absolutely horrific. Extremely bad back pain which had moved round to my right hand side and I couldn't even touch it without it being painful. I managed to drift back off but I rang the midwife this morning to put my mind at ease and she thinks it's a water infection! 🤦🏽‍♀️

Delilah7 · 04/03/2019 09:39

@EltzBee it's awfully confusing to understand. I was 15 when he was born so that was a while ago! But he's the way he is due to them not checking enough so once it's checked it's under control so, didn't mean to scare anyone! It's just when things go wrong x x

EltzBee · 04/03/2019 09:56

@sunshine1987 thanks hun, yeah I think it's just the way they sent it through in the post with the scary leaflet and blood sample request bag. But yes will definitely be saying just give me whatever is needed to make sure Bean is safe :) @Delilah7 oh no don't worry at all, the leaflet scared me hahaha!

@canonlyhopexo ah no water infections are awful - keep hydrated hopefully it doesn't take too long to clear up. I'm not sure what you can do other than keep drinking when pregnant to help!

canonlyhopexo · 04/03/2019 10:00

@EltzBee I'm in agony! Seriously my back is absolutely killing. I was meant to be in work today but I've had to ring and say I'm following midwifes instructions of laying in a warm bath and taking paracetamol. She told me if neither makes it feel any better to get myself to the doctors this afternoon. I'm sure if it was anything to worry about she would've called me in as I phoned the birth centre due to no where else being open this morning. Dramatic I know but I was really concerned and getting in a bit of a state this morning thinking omg something awful is happening.

GemmaJen · 04/03/2019 10:00

@Crossfitgirl that sounds unpleasant. I'm getting vivid dreams most nights, usually they're entertaining and just a bit odd. But occasionally a bit scary, managed to dream about a reality with the bird box monsters crossed with the quiet place monsters and woke up at 3am in a right state, was having an existential crisis for a good hour after that wondering what is the point of life. luckily I managed to tune my mind into the Winnie the Pooh song and was much happier for it, lol 🙈

Scan day today - got to wait till this afternoon, but hoping all is well 🤞

EltzBee · 04/03/2019 11:01

@canonlyhopexo ah bless you hun! Keep the paracetamol to hand - could you try a warm wheat bag or hot water bottle on your lower back to try and ease some of the pain as well? I remember when I was younger my Mum always told me to drink Barley Water to help flush out bladder/urinary tract infections, or cranberry juice...sending hugs! How many weeks are you now? Don't blame you for calling them! Always best to be on the safe side and double check.

@GemmaJen good luck today! Is this the 12 week dating scan? Let us know how it goes :)

Cookie0508 · 04/03/2019 11:06

@AngeloMysterioso so happy to hear that everythings OK! xx

Oh bless you @Crossfitgirl that sounds very traumatic. Glad it was all a dream! xx

canonlyhopexo · 04/03/2019 11:31

@EltzBee I'm just in the doctors now. Dashed over here and they're runnjng late! I'm almost 18 weeks now. I've tried a warm bath as the midwife suggested and if anything that made it feel worse. The pain is round down low in my stomach as well. I feel sick with worry :(
