If any of you guys are interested in breastfeeding this has been mentioned a lot on my parenting group, it’s £9.10 today xx

@GemmaJen it's weird, now I just get days where i'm like, "Am I pregnant or just fat?". Baby moves very rarely at the moment and never when I need reassurance. Typing this it just kicked me lol.... I think it knows I'm eating a whole bag of jelly babies to myself!

Ahh good luck in Obedience! Once you're in there I'm sure the adrenaline rush will kick in and you'll be fine! I used to do flyball and agility. Will be watching out for those at the weekend!

@Crossfitgirl Crufts is the big dog show in Brum :) Also made my name a little more secure that it was! As above, I really dont feel movements every day at the moment. It's a little bit unnerving but seems common at this time. It has moments when it goes a little bit mental (like now after the jelly babies!) and then nothing for ages.

EltzBee · 07/03/2019 10:59

@GemmaJen bless you, yes fingers crossed ours doesn't keep going on til then :o tomorrow is 15 weeks and I'm really hoping it's on it's way out, but then I was sick yesterday and today :( that sounds like you had a really long day yesterday, hope you're not too knackered today hun.

Hopefully Crufts goes well! I think Cookie right and when you're there 'in the zone' everything will kick in :D

@Cookie0508 hehe your jelly bean complaining about jelly beans :D

I'm definitely getting hungrier now than I used to be too - if I don't eat something every couple hours I get so hungry that I feel sick, and if I don't just eat something I'll be ill. So weird! Does anyone else have that 'omg I must eat something now' kind of hunger?!

I'm trying to work out what the actual functional difference are between the 'normal' Tommy Tippee machine, and the Day and Night one. As far as I can tell it's a digital screen/night light?!

stormtrooperjulian · 07/03/2019 11:09

@sunshine1987 I’m hoping to breastfeed. Thanks for sharing that!

I’m having another ‘good’ day today. That’s 3 out of the last 4 so hopefully it’ll continue. I’m also starting to look fat..... my belly is noticeably (to me and DH anyway) sticking out, my hipbones have vanished and my jeans feel like they won’t fit for much longer. Surely it’s way too early to move into maternity jeans though, I’m only 11+2! I guess as a more ‘petite’ person (I’m only 5’1) I might show more than taller women? When did everyone make the move to maternity clothes? The only change I’ve made so far is buying bigger bras, only managed to hold out til 8 weeks with that.

EltzBee · 07/03/2019 11:15

@stormtrooperjulian I went and bought two pairs of maternity jeans and some tops and non-wired bras after our 12 week scan. My 'normal' jeans were getting really uncomfortable around the waste and I didn't want to just leave them un-done!

I recommend the M&S 'sumptuously soft' non-wired bras, they're incredibly comfortable.

I bought over-the-bump jeans from New Look, which again are really comfy and I just bought my normal size. My 'bump' has popped so I'm very glad I have them! Everyone is different remember - some people pop sooner than others and some people don't start 'showing' til much later. Mine is a definite 'bump'. Didn't see any point for me in buying a bigger size of 'normal' jeans because then they just end up being too big on the legs and still wouldn't last long.

sunshine1987 · 07/03/2019 11:19

@stormtrooperjulian no worries at all. I had been given maternity jeans by a friend at 8 weeks and started wearing them around 10 weeks as I was feeling uncomfortable in my own jeans. By 12 weeks I definetely couldn’t fit in normal jeans anymore, bought some from ASOS and H&M and both pairs are amazing. Making that move into maternity wear is heavenly lol xx

Cookie0508 · 07/03/2019 12:01

@EltzBee the irony!

I bought some maternity jeans but have not got on with them so well so far, they keep falling down! Luckily i still fit into my jeggings and other leggings.

EltzBee · 07/03/2019 13:50

@Cookie0508 bless you! I think it depends which ones you get - I tried some on in MotherCare and they were awful! New Look ones are lovely; I did for the first couple weeks fold the band over slighly as they were a bit slipping at the front but now I've 'grown' some more at the bump they stay up lovely! I wear jeans for work so I was so relieved to find a pair, as I was living in leggings and one or two dresses that for work, lol.

Crossfitgirl · 07/03/2019 14:26

Thanks @sunshine1987 yes that's what they've said @cookie0508 I rang the MW for clarification and she said at this stage, it's totally normal to not feel the baby at all some days, which is reassuring, as its still small enough to move down in your pelvis enough to not be felt at all, and hasn't established any pattern yet. 28 weeks onwards is when you monitor from.
Def will have a look at that breast pump! Thanks for sharing! I have the H&M "super skinny" jeans which are not that skinny but super comfy. Which ASOS ones do you have? I really need another pair but H&M don't have the colour I want in the same style as the ones that fit me really well lol.

@eltzbee I'm getting the hunger too. NEED FOOD immediately lol I do start to feel sick if not!

@stormtrooperjulian you move into maternity stuff whenever you feel it'd be more comfy for you. Everyone grows differently. I had to buy some at about 9 weeks as I was so bloated. And it never went down really! I'm have some maternity tops too now, and I'm only 17+6. Maternity stuff is SO comfy!

I got some AMAZING leggings online from GAP, I'd highly recommend them, super soft, comfy and not see through! I got them in cropped for the gym, but if they do a full length version I'm going to get some more in black. They are more like casual material than gym legging material if that makes sense, perfect for wearing under long tops in summer!

sunshine1987 · 07/03/2019 14:32

@crossfitgirl jeans are always out of stock on H&M aren’t they? Took me ages to get hold of the pair I wanted. Mine are the Ridley style from ASOS, I wore the non maternity ridley’s before so thought I’d give them a go and love them xx

EltzBee · 07/03/2019 14:49

@Crossfitgirl oh gosh I'm so glad it isn't just me with the 'FEED ME NOW' situation! I tried to explain to DH that if I don't eat when I suddenly find myself hungry that I feel like I"m about to be sick and he did think I was a bit crazy (which to be fair it does sound)!!

We had pizza at work today for lunch, and I managed 3 slices (and left the crusts) and I'm so stuffed though. I do find I get full quickly now!

@stormtrooperjulian definitely get them when you don't feel comfy in your current clothes! I got some maternity tops because they're longer so it makes sure they do cover my bump and top of my maternity jeans :) but I'm still wearing my normal t-shirts too.

I'd been searching for a maternity zip-up hoodie and managed to find one online at George on the weekend, which I picked up on Tuesday and omg it is SO comfy and soft, I love it already! And only a tenner too :D

Crossfitgirl · 07/03/2019 15:09

Oooh loving all these suggestions! Totally gonna look at a George hoodie! How does the size run? I did actually get 2 hoodies at £8 each from Lidl, not maternity but long enough to cover bump and super comfy!
May also try the Ridley jeans then :-)

@sunshine1987 I have just purchased that Haakaa pump on your recommendation!
It's my first proper actual buy for the baby!
I think I've heard of them and had vaguely thought it'd be useful to use while feeding on the other boob, and for £13 delivered can't go wrong! Does have very good reviews! Will you get an electric one as well do you think?

@eltzbee yeah I get full super easily too but then I'm hungry again in an hour 😂 baby taking up all the tummy room!

sunshine1987 · 07/03/2019 15:17

@crossfitgirl I got a second hand electric one, I wasn’t going to bother until after baby was born as not sure if i’ll get on with breastfeeding but someone was selling one unused so me and my best friend went halves and was £15 each in the end (she’s due now and only aims to feed for 6 months). So even if I don’t use it I won’t feel bad about £15. But I think this seems like a good first step, a lot of people say that you end up losing milk in the beginning from the other boob you’re not feeding with so this helps keep it. It’s all such a minefield 🙈

@eltzbee definitely going to look for that hoodie, exactly what I need x

Cookie0508 · 07/03/2019 15:22

@EltzBee @Crossfitgirl Me too on the eating, i can't stop at the moment! I'm about to grab another sammich!

EltzBee · 07/03/2019 16:07

@Crossfitgirl @sunshine1987 I ordered my normal top size and its lovely, it's a comfy style and fit so if you prefer it more fitted I'd suggest ordering a size down, but I like a comfy relaxed hoodie! And plenty of room for Bump to grow without it looking obviously that it is a maternity hoodie (happy days!). I have it in a pale grey. It was £10 and free click and collect too. It is soo soft to touch! 😊

mrsof20118 · 07/03/2019 18:43

@stormtrooperjulian i got some mataternity under bump jeggings from next in short length at around 8 weeks as I was so bloated. They are so comfy as well. I'm also a shorty at 5 ft 1.

@Crossfitgirl may get some of those gap cropped leggings. How tall are you?

We are off on holiday at the end of the month and need to try on my summer clothes this weekend to see what I can squeeze into. I'm still in my normal day to day tops but with long vests underneath so the bump area of jeggings is covered as the normal tops are riding up now.

When is everyones next scan?

Also with you all on feeling full quickly just feels like there is no room!
Did we sort out a private fb group?

canonlyhopexo · 07/03/2019 19:10

The thread moves so quickly! Came for a quick catch up and lots of new messages on here. I've not bought any new clothes apart from one pair of under bump new look jeans which are still slightly roomy. I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. I'm living in leggings and big baggy tops and long cardigans. Feel quite shite really about appearance but haven't had the energy to sort it out!

Seen the posts about booby pumps. I'm not planning to breast feed so won't get anything like that. Haven't bought much at all - a baby record book and one newborn baby grow that says "I'm new!" Has anyone bought much else?

GemmaJen · 07/03/2019 20:11

@canonlyhopexo we've brought a couple of baby grows and a teething toy - got them while in the US. Will have to get a picture, they're very cute 😊 not got anything else yet but we're earlier on than most of you.

Had 12w scan on Monday and got our results in the post today, was quite impressed as we were told to expect them in 2-4 weeks. Thankfully not high risk, which is a relief 👍

AngeloMysterioso · 07/03/2019 22:09

I might call my midwife tomorrow as I don't seem to have any symptoms really- slightly sore boobs, slightly queasy every now and then, but that's it...

Crossfitgirl · 07/03/2019 22:35

@mrsof20118 I'm 5"2 so imagine they'd be perfect for you. I'm usually a size 8-10 (mostly a 10, but sometimes an 8 in places where sizes run big like Next, or supermarkets) and I got size small and they are perfect.

My next scan is 20 weeks, in 2 weeks! What about you?

I've befriended mrsc87 on Facebook but that's all, you can't add people to a group unless you're friends with them or something so think it's been a faf. If you wanna add me I can pm you?

@canonlyhopexo that's all I've bought, besides a "best daddy" baby grow I got for DH at Christmas. How big is your bump? People keep telling me I'm big for how far along I am. It's annoying! Not that I should care but I'd like to think I'm normal size! Which, for me, I clearly am! Who tells a pregnant woman she's big anyway? As if we don't have enough body worries lol.

@angelomysterioso do you have a particular reason to be concerned about a lack of sickness? Sorry if I'm being insensitive but it's understandable if you've had a previous loss. If so, def go ahead and ring the midwife. That's what they are there for. But it's totally normal to have some, or none, or some but not others, and everyone is different. @sunshine1987 hardly had anything, and you do have some symptoms by the sounds of it. The sore boobs. The queasy. Just because it's not sickness that doesn't mean the other symptoms aren't a sign of the pregnancy. If you're queasy, that may be all you'll get.
Mine started as queasiness and was on an off for a while before it turned to noticeable nausea.
But tbh it is nice to speak to the midwives and get their professional advice even over little things, you feel so much better coming from them rather than Google or some strange girls on mumsnet 😁 try not to worry too much and let us know what they say if you do decide to ring.
Fingers crossed you are just lucky and maybe have none or minimal sickness!

canonlyhopexo · 07/03/2019 22:49

@GemmaJen oh cute yeah do post some pics!

@Crossfitgirl I think we will start looking properly at bits after the 20 week scan. It's noticeable in a tight vest top or what not but underneath baggy stuff really. I'm actually 4lbs lighter now than I was previous to being pregnant as I lost almost a stone in the first few weeks due to sickness. I think it's hard to compare bump sizes because we will all carry different sized babies at different times and will be of different build? For someone to comment can be a bit close to the bone. Family and close friends I don't mind so much.

sunshine1987 · 07/03/2019 23:07

@AngeloMysterioso I mean this in the nicest way possible but you need to relax, if phoning the midwife will put your mind at ease then definetely do that, I don’t know your circumstances but it is perfectly normal to not have lots of symptoms as much as it is to have lots. By the sounds of it you do have some though too? At this stage there isn’t anything they’d be able to do to check. Are you thinking of any early scan to put your mind at ease? I had one at 8 weeks and that helped push through to 12. Its a long old journey though to 12 if you’re feeling like this at 6 but remember it’s early days and a lot of people their symptoms only start around now too. Just do whatever helps to make you less worried 💜

ChaosMoon · 08/03/2019 04:34

Ah, @Cookie0508 I'm going to miss your Waffle!

@EltzBee your colleague is an arrow and your boys is a hero. Very glad you're being supported so well. Oh and it's 4.20 as I write this and yes, I'm bloody starving. Doesn't help that I've been awake since 2i suppose...

Thank you for "fucking twatbag" @Crossfitgirl, I enjoyed that. 😂 The movements I felt at the beginning we're much more a popping than fluttering too. And from there into breakdancing. Never anything as gentle as a flutter!

@mrsof20118 I do know what you mean about feeling rubbish with friends. And I get what others have said about then bedding to make an effort to. Thing is, I think a lot of people just don't know what to suggest. I got a few of my friends round and had someone come out to give us pedicures, which was a great way to reconnect.

Good luck at Crufts @GemmaJen and fingers crossed you're feeling well for it! 🤞

@AngeloMysterioso I hope the midwife can put your mind at rest today!

I'm really struggling to keep up too @canonlyhopexo, it really does move so quickly!

Just so sick of not sleeping now. It's been bad for months but the last two nights I've been wide awake from 2, and it is breaking me!

GemmaJen · 08/03/2019 04:40

@mrsof20118 I think the way other groups have done it is for someone to be the admin, start a closed group. Then gather emails and add everyone. Once people have joined turn it private. Then for new members they and the admin as a friend and the admin can add them to the secret group. Does that make sense? It means that not everyone needs to add multiple friends, but the group will be secret.

@ChaosMoon I'll br passing of the queasiness as nerves today, lol. Time to get going 🙈🤞

ChaosMoon · 08/03/2019 04:53

@GemmaJen Yes, that's definitely what it is! I'd say I'll be watching and cheering for terriers, but it's our anniversary today so DH and I are going to a fancy restaurant for lunch. I will no doubt be too comatose to take in anything that's happening after that, but I'll try and tune in if I can! Have a fantastic time.
