Thanks for the reassurance @MrsC87 @MrsLBear @ChaosMoon I guess I am just worrying that having had some symptoms and then now disappearing then it's a bad sign?!

I like the sound of hypnobirthing I think I will definitely try that- from what I've heard it. An make a huge difference to the way you perceive the pain and can make you feel much more in control. Got to be a good thing!

EltzBee · 25/01/2019 13:38

@Bettythecat it's not a bad sign, please don't worry :) some women go through their whole pregnancy with barely any symptoms, others feel everything. We're all different and honestly you could wake up one day and suddenly feel 'different'. Don't stress yourself out second guessing :) your body is busy doing its thing.

3 weeks today til my 12 week scan. Still keep going back and forth about wether to have a private scan before that or not - but think we might as well wait now, it won't 'change' anything good or bad after all.

mrsof20118 · 25/01/2019 13:51

Checking in ladies. Due 31/07/19. 13+2 today. X

canonlyhopexo · 25/01/2019 13:56

How we all doing today girls?
I'm feeling really flat. I wouldn't say I've been hormonal much at all since finding out but today I just feel really grumpy. I feel really tired and I've been suffering with hyperemisis so I don't know if it's that getting on top of me. I've barely left the house since mid December and I just could cry! Feel terrible for feeling this way as I know how lucky I have been to get this far. Sorry to be miserable ladies hope you're all having a better day than me x

Bettythecat · 25/01/2019 14:12

Thanks girls! To be fair the last 24 hours have been a bit of a rollercoaster of emotion- shouted at DH in the street last night because he didn't offer to buy me some expensive caffeine free tea- decided if he really cared and was in tune with me he would be offering to do that to help my Yorkshire Tea withdrawal! 😂 and then today felt like crying listening to a James Blake song on the way to work. So maybe I do have symptoms just different ones!!

Also curious to know how being pregnant has made you feel towards your other halves. I was expecting it to make me feel much closer to him but bizarrely somehow it's had the opposite effect that I can't quite put my finger on. Xxx

EltzBee · 25/01/2019 14:47

@Bettythecat ah bless you! I've got the 'PG Tips Tasty Decaf' teabags and they actually taste really nice, just like normal tea. I have got some of the Yorkshire Tea Decaff at work but not tried those ones yet :) I have one 'normal' cup of tea in the morning, then de-caff for the rest of the day.

Bettythecat · 25/01/2019 15:14

@EltzBee I'm exactly the same- I'm not sure I could survive without my normal Yorkshire tea in the morning. I occasionally allow myself a second cup of tea (the luxury!) but leave it at that. I've got the decaf Yorkshire ones and at first thought they were awful- tasted like soil or something weird to me but had one the other day and it wasn't so bad. Maybe just getting used to it!

GemmaJen · 25/01/2019 15:30

@Bettythecat I've been in the no symptom camp too, but I'm definitely starting to notice little things now 6+2. No overwhelming nausea or exhaustion though (luckily). But the cravings and food aversions are definitely kicking in. I've been starving all day and yet I've been snacking constantly and had KFC only a couple of hours ago. My boobs only just started feeling off and sore yesterday and they feel so much heavier, like somebodies taped a couple of bags of sugar to my chest. 🙈 Something very wierd feels like it's happening.

EltzBee · 25/01/2019 15:36

@Bettythecat you can have up 200mg of caffeine a day, so a couple of normal cups of tea is fine! I've had a can of cola a couple of days too (its about 40mg). Just remember if you eat chocolate that has some in too.

I thought I was going to get awful withdrawal from caffeine as I'm usually the person that always has a strong cuppa on the go (and my work mug is huge so always used to put two bags in that too!). But it's been okay :) I bought some ground decaf coffee too so I can still enjoy a nice frothy coffee at home, that I notice is missing something more than the tea, but when you fancy it, it works well enough!

@GemmaJen ahh yes that feeling, my boobs I'm sure I could watch them grow if I stared long enough, yesterday after being in the office and in a bra all day they were even more sore! Mine have definitely grown, DH is liking it but I can't stand them being touched cos they're so sensitive. D'oh! lol

CookieWaffle · 25/01/2019 16:40

Hey ladies, checking in. Here's our little bubba. Was kicking around something rotten. Was amazing to see!

They've dated me as 12+4 now so a little earlier, and due date is now 5/8 :)

@SullyWifey how did you get on today? xx

GemmaJen · 25/01/2019 17:10

Congratulations @CookieWaffle A lovely picture 😊

SullyWifey · 25/01/2019 17:30

@CookieWaffle oh what a lovely picture! Congrats you!

Well here's my little beautiful bubba! Who is apparently very stubborn! It is upside down to how you usually see, so here is a pic of how it is and the. They flipped it for us for looks like the other way hah. Was there about 20 mins moving from side to side on my hands and knees trying to move them. But nothing!

We did see it proper kicking and stretching out though which was amazing to see. Kinda glad it was wrong way as we had so much longer looking on the screen! Have had crazy busy day but been on cloud 9!!

Will catch up with the thread over weekend! Happy Friday ladies xxxx

EltzBee · 25/01/2019 20:14

@cookiewaffle @sullywifey ahhh lovely! :)

Crossfitgirl · 25/01/2019 22:51

@cookiewaffle @sullywifey aww yay! Lovely scan pics!! How was the full bladder situ?? Haha. Aw it's so lovely to see these positive scans and see your lovely little healthy babies!
Mine is on Monday, and I'm getting more and more anxious. I made a huge mistake and looked on the TTC after MC thread god knows why, I think I just wanted to prepare for the worst just in case, and read a couple of stories of finding out at the 12 week scan, Why do I do this to myself??

@bettythecat I found my DH extremely more irritating than normal for quite a few weeks, and cried a lot over nothing. Definitely hormones!

Now I feel like we are much closer and a proper team with the whole upcoming parent thing! Lol. Discussing how we will raise it, etc.

On the tea front, ladies please, enjoy your tea while you can. I have had upto 2 cups of tea in a day but to be quite honest I'm still averted to basically all food and hot drinks with any kind of flavour so haven't really had more than one on the occasional morning when I've felt alright. I've started reading "Expecting Better" and found it quite informative so far on the front of deciding what advice you follow. Can't remember who recommended it but thank you!! Evidence suggests it's actually probably fine to have up to 4 cups of coffee in a day, really gives good info about making decisions for yourself and knowing what the actual risk is, and weighing it up yourself rather than just blindly following all blanket guidelines.

@canonlyhopexo sorry you're feeling so crap. I'm feeling pretty fed up of feeling crap too, and am just wishing it'd hurry up with getting better, I'm done with it now.

FivexFive · 25/01/2019 23:41

Hi all, just popping in to mark my place!!

I'm around 5/6 weeks and have my booking in appointment on 4th feb. Due about late Sep. At the moment I'm wavering between feeling really excited but then feeling like I don't want to 'jinx' anything because it's still quite early days... I'll probably be on here more after my appointment. So far not many symptoms, just The Damp, feeling hungry and sore boobs... I'm sure they'll kick in with a vengeance soon though!!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!! Xxx

ChaosMoon · 26/01/2019 07:44

Congratulations @CookieWaffle and @SullyWifey! It's such a good feeling to see them and know they're ok. Sounds like my scans SullyWifey. They know their minds already!

They said the same thing to me @LuckyKitty13. I just haven't been nearly diligent enough yet!

@canonlyhopexo that really sucks. Be kind to yourself though. It's natural to feel emotionally rubbish when you're feeling so bad physically.

Mostly DH and I have been in such a good place @Bettythecat. A real team, as Crossfitgirl said. Then we had a massive argument on the last night of our holiday. It's fine, we made up. There's just so much going on for both of us, I think it's inevitable that there will be times we get it wrong.

Really glad you're liking Expecting Better @Crossfitgirl. Just remember when you get to the episiotomy but, it doesn't all apply to the UK as they do things differently here. Can't remember if I mentioned that before.

Holiday was great but I can't wait to get back to my maternity pillow tonight! 😂

Bettythecat · 26/01/2019 07:58

@CookieWaffle @SullyWifey those photos are just so amazing- made me feel quite emotional when I spotted them yesterday! Congratulations to you both.

@FivexFive well we were cycle twins and now we are pregnancy and symptom twins. I still have the damp too but actually my boobs are fine. I'm definitely doing a bit of symptom spotting so every time I fart I'm like "oh must be coz I'm preggo!" 😂.

I'm off to China today girls for a work trip. Quite scared about the whole thing to be honest! Lots of big meetings and long travel. Just want to stay at home and count down the days of the first trimester!!

@Crossfitgirl I do actually think it was my hormones the first couple of weeks making me feel cross with DH- the cloud lifted a bit last night and we had sex and nice chats so that's good. Was weird having sex just for fun for once and didn't have to "hang on" to the sperm afterwards 😂😂

MrsC87 · 26/01/2019 08:07

Congrats @SullyWifey & @CookieWaffle lovely pics 💕
I also am very close with DH, the only times we have clashed is over MIL who is driving me crazy constantly buying stuff when I actually want to choose things myself. Many conversations have happened to explain this but she just continues!! 😤
If we don't mention MIL all is good with us, he's been great at cooking and cleaning through the sickness days ☺️

CookieWaffle · 26/01/2019 08:34

Thanks all :) Bless you @Bettythecat! I hope China trip goes well, sounds like the perfect first trimester distraction to me!

@Crossfitgirl I drank a bit too much water and so it was a bit of a struggle to keep it all in! However they managed to do what they needed too. She checked out my ovaries as well which she said is why a full bladder helps but it doesn't need to be reeeeally full!

Also on the tea front i too have discovered the glory of PG Tips tasty decaf, I actually prefer it to normal tea now. It's amazing! Less aftertaste than usual tea.

About me and DP I think this whole process has brought us closer and he definitely is more open about things now. Though his sympathy for the first trimester has only gone so far!

Glad you had a lovely trip @ChaosMoon, i need to get me one of those maternity pillows...

EltzBee · 26/01/2019 10:12

Morning ladies! I had a dream about hash browns and woke up craving them...DH being a hero and gone to McD to get me one 😂

Definitely try the PG Tips Tasty decaf if you're after a yummy decaf tea. :)

Cooked a proper dinner last night for what feels like first time in weeks, had the energy and stamina to do it. Was quite proud of myself lol.

sunshine1987 · 26/01/2019 10:34

I’m so jealous you can all drink tea, I’ve gone right off tea and coffee and I miss it!! Would love to enjoy a cup of hot Yorkshire tea right now 😭 why is life so cruel lol x
