Hey! I have taken a clear blue pregnancy test today as I was a week late. It says 1-2 weeks pregnant. When I downloaded a pregnancy app to input my data and being to track my pregnancy (I know that may be early but I just want to do things right etc) it says I am 4 weeks pregnant. This is my first pregnancy so I apologise now if the question is silly! Xx Blush

@bella5757 sorry to read your post hun. What a nightmare it must have been having to go to a&e and have the worry but it is good news about the scan. Will you have someone with you? I don’t know about you but I always get abit flustered with drs. Based on my last experience I am always going to try and take a notebook and write down what they say, as well as take a few mins to read through the doc they give at the end of the scan and ask questions before I leave. I don’t know what it is, but I feel like I always have questions I wish I had asked.

Really hoping they can put your mind to rest and see you today. Let us know xx

foreverthe2ww2 · 05/02/2019 07:29

@Bella5757 That sounds like it was well dealt with which is lovely, its very hit and miss with the experiences at hospitals and with doctors. That will be a nice reassurance to see a heartbeat

Bella5757 · 05/02/2019 07:36

@HayzCo @foreverthe2ww2 @LaurenSl
A&E was a nightmare. I phoned 111 and they said I should get heckled out withing 1-2 hours. I got to hosp and I've never seen it so busy!
Literally every seat was taken and people were standing up around the edge of the room. I was waiting for 4 hours! Never known anything like it. I've seen it busy before but that was ridiculous.
My fiancé is going to work today reluctantly but I've told him when I know the scan date or time I'll call him and he said he will leave work. It's just a waiting game now I guess. If I don't get a call today I'm going to be panicking. The doctor said I should get a call today after 9 but he wasn't sure when the scan will be but will be within next 3 days

I know what you mean about questions etc. I now want to know who I have to contact if I don't hear from the early scan team to be able to follow it up. Xxxx

OP posts:
foreverthe2ww2 · 05/02/2019 08:46

@Bella5757 wow that does sound crazy busy and you would think with being in the early hours that it would not be busy, damn. I hope they do call you soon as it sounds like you had a nice doctor at least.

Bella5757 · 05/02/2019 09:42

@foreverthe2ww2 @LaurenSl @HayzCo
Update: hospital was amazing at getting in touch. They called me at 9:02!
I'm so impressed. Scan is on Thursday at 11:40

Bit gutted it's so far away
But I've decided I'm going to take the week off work which is really difficult as I'm a teacher.
But I can't go in tomorrow then have Thursday off. So I'm going to take tomo and Thursday off xxx

@Bella5757 thanks for letting us know! .. that is great, they have done well on this occasion I would say apart from the fact that it cant be done today, but by the sounds of it, its a rather busy hospital and generally with the state of all the other stuff going on politically its pretty good. its so good that you have been able to take the week off, that will help a lot, it is so important to look after yourself as much as you can especially when things like this happen, ... maybe time to run a little bubble bath, put some relaxing music on and eat well all week, total relaxation mood if you can xx

LaurenSl · 05/02/2019 11:01

@Bella5757 awww good! You need to relax and you won't be able to concentrate in school anyway - your head won't be on the lesson!

Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you!!! Xxxx

HayzCo · 05/02/2019 18:05

Really pleased you have a date in and they’ve treated you well! Definitely in the scheme of things it is worth taking the time off. You have to prioritise yourself. Did you say why?

I’m having a tough day with it all. I’ve had an ache in my groin for a few hours. It just feels me with dread. I can’t wait to one day start talking about normal pregnancy stuff, can you? Not just the constant worry.

Maybe we should anyway, rather than focus on the worst? Does anyone have any names planned? That’s a sensible topic for 5 weeks pregnant Wink I’m sure !

foreverthe2ww2 · 05/02/2019 18:32

@HayzCo yes good idea, although I do hope your groin issue passes swiftly, obviously keep aneye on it as im sure you will, if anything like you say im sure you would rather not think about it. that last part did make me smile, .. okay lets get more positive shall we :) ....

so ..

Girls; Lavender ... and poppy came to me last night although thats not something i imagined myself going for but i do like the feel to it

Boys: big fat nothing :/ ..

Bella5757 · 05/02/2019 19:01

@HayzCo oh no Hun make sure u rest too. Must just all be normal u guess but of course we will all over analyse Things.

I just told work that I had a Dodgy tummy

I don't want work knowing anything until I've had my 12 week scan

I still have a little bloody discharge it's not loads but makes me so scared but I'm just trying to stay calm and relax until thurs. unless it gets worse or I bleed loads as the doc said if that happened with severe cramps in to go straight back in.

What are your name choices xxx

OP posts:
Bella5757 · 05/02/2019 19:03

@foreverthe2ww2
Lavender is such a cute name and I've always loved poppy

I'm thinking Isabella or Francesca for a girl

Or Francesco or Alessandro for a boy

Italian names as I'm Italian xxx

OP posts:
foreverthe2ww2 · 05/02/2019 19:14

@Bella5757 aahhh yes, I did have a split second thought when i first saw your username that you could possibly be italian :) .. my partner is part italian. (I dont know where from but he has dark genes rather then light genes so south side rather then north side?)

your name choices are beautiful

Bella5757 · 05/02/2019 19:17

@foreverthe2ww2 oh lovely!
Yea I am dark haired and olive skinned. Hopefully baby gets the dark gene too 😍
Have you looked into boys names? Xxx

OP posts:
foreverthe2ww2 · 05/02/2019 19:47

@Bella5757 i can imagine you are a beautifully lady, Italians are gorgeous!

the bambino definitely will have dark genes as I also have dark genes and olive skin like yourself although my heritage is half Iranian half English although people usually wonder if im spanish. im looking rather pasty at the moment admittedly .. god damn british weather haha.

No, not at all, actually I recall seeing the name Lazarus which i thought sounded pretty cool but now im thinking im not keen on that anymore. you have inspired me to check out Italian names though so that will keep me busy for a bit :)

HayzCo · 05/02/2019 21:17

Gorgeous names!! Boys are harder aren’t they... I like Leo and Felix. Speaking of Italian names, I love the name Alessia for a girl, I knew such a lovely Italian girl at school with that name.

My little niece was born a year ago, she was going to be called Summer but my mother in law hated it so they changed it to Phoebe. I love her, but she’s such a judgemental person about names. So silly. I’m going to enjoy pretending I’ve chosen really off the wall names when she asks me about it... suggestions welcome! Haha

foreverthe2ww2 · 05/02/2019 21:47

@HayzCo haha you joker, i love that, .. also another beautiful name, the italians know about class and style generally for sure. I was going to suggest Pluto but actually thats kinda cute but if she is overly judgmental about names then thats quite a realistic "crazy" one that would raise and eyebrow no doubt .. im not sure there are overly shocking names anymore though when you think that one celeb called her daughter Apple. yea maybe stick with the planets and say Venus for a girl and Marz for a boy hehe .. i gotta say im liking these planets as names though lol .. to be fair I am pretty tired so that could be a factor, ... you could have lots of children all called planet names and then legitimately state that your children are your universe .. oh dear, time for bed. xx

Bella5757 · 06/02/2019 07:25

@HayzCo @foreverthe2ww2
Sorry for delayed reply. I got an early night last night. Oh those messages made me laugh!

Such a shame about changing the name from summer to phoebe. Although phoebe is still a lovely name. ❤️
I hate it when other people get involved. It's our choice as parents. We shouldn't have to care what other people think.

You should say our naming the baby Autumn or winter for when it's due. That will piss her off. Haha. Or the name of the town your from. Say it's because you want to name it after the place baby was conceived or even better a week day. Like Wednesday and say it's because you found out you were pregnant on that day haha

I'm feeling a little groggy this morning. Have woken up with a bit of a headache. Roll on tomorrow so I can know for definite if my little blueberry sized baby is ok xxxx 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I don't think there's anything that needs doing prior to 10 weeks. I think it might depend on PCT, but I'm sure it's at your first hospital appointment they'll check your immunity to Rubella etc.

I've ended up at hospital prior to 12 weeks, but that was EPAU with complications. Fingers crossed you don't ever have to venture there.

With Clearblue it's more of a conception indicator. It's a bit of a myth that all women ovulate CD14 plus your HCG levels are determined from when implantation took place, which again can vary from person to person. I think the earliest is maybe 6DPO & the latest is 14DPO. So if you tested on what would be CD28 then you might have only just implanted, so the level of HCG in your urine would be lower.

I did it where I felt a bit funny, so fished out a test I had, I got 1-2 weeks, then tested again and got 2-3, finally got 3+ which is amazing and so relieved.

There's websites that compare beta HCG's which is from a blood test, again such results can vary quite a bit.

I'm so full of useless info from having had fertility tx.

foreverthe2ww2 · 06/02/2019 08:23

@Bella5757 |Yea almost there now, positive thoughts. Hopefully you get to keep a picture of the scan, that would be lovely. That sucks about feeling groggy, maybe a warm glass of water and feet up will help, .. I feel you on that though, i didnt sleep well and have had a sore throat out of no where since yesterday, .. woke at 2.22 last night then at 3.54 (so precise hey Grin) I had to eat something as i became so hungry and thirsty, .. i think i need to eat a little more in the day and/or put a healthy snack by the bed for my seemingly constant midnight munchies ha.

No excuses, i have slept and no longer tired and still liking these random names! Wednesday is just like the daughter on Adams family, i loved that show, the mum Mortica (not sure on the spelling) was spookily gorgeous.

Bella5757 · 06/02/2019 09:31

@foreverthe2ww2 yea Wednesday reminds me of that too! Love that film! All time classic.

I'm feeling a little better now. Just trying to keep busy but also not over do it.

I've just put a wash on and am now making toast. Had a little more discharge this morning but I'd say more spotting than bleeding. Tomorrow I will know for sure so am just staying positive as I have no other nasty signs like cramps and fresh red blood xxxx

Girls!! I've been offered an earlier appointment for today!
They had a cancellation. It means I have to go without my fiancé which I'm a bit nervous about. And I think he's a bit gutted about. But we'd rather just know today if our baby is ok xxxxx

OP posts:
foreverthe2ww2 · 06/02/2019 10:06

@Bella5757 that sounds like a lovely morning at home, ..okay well that does sound really promising as you say, roll on tomorrow :) .. oohh, what spread are you going for or are you a just butter kinda gal, .. id guess jam? (Im guessing this as my partner says that in Italy for breakfast its mostly about pastries and coffee so im guessing something sweet)

foreverthe2ww2 · 06/02/2019 10:08

@Bella5757 oooohh yes thats aaaamazing, go go go! try not to worry, you will be in good hands and im sure your fiance will be happy to talk on the phone before and after to give support in that way instead. xxx

CatG85 · 06/02/2019 10:18

I didn't know this either so don't feel silly lol. I told the midwife I was 3 weeks and she said you won't be and explained how it works :-)

I rang my local maternity unit and they registered the pregnancy and booked me in for my initial appointment and bloods just under 2 weeks later when I was 6 + 4

Congratulations!!!!
