Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

Thinking of you hun, fingers crossed it’s implantation xx

MrsRRC · 06/01/2019 14:06

BeingATwatItsABingThing I have everything crossed that it’s nothing serious 💐 The EPU would tell you the same as the doctor- that’s exactly what the EPU told me and there’s not a great deal they can do for you that early on (in my case it was a chemical pregnancy, but I do hope that it’s not for you). Take care.

Whisky2014 · 06/01/2019 14:13

Hope you are ok being

Thinking of you @BeingATwatItsABingThing. Hope it's nothing too serious Thanks

BFP today, so guess about 4 weeks.
In complete shock, am almost 41 and wasn’t actively trying.
Terrified actually, not a clue what to do with myself. Will be keeping strict secret until had NIPT.
Does anyone know when I can book this?!

Angie2578 · 06/01/2019 14:55

Hi Megan2018....I'm 40 and about 5 weeks. We been trying for a year or so and am delighted but also a bit nervous, hoping all is developing normally. I have been looking at tests for abnormalities like DS etc. I will ask for a Nuchal scan at 10 weeks and the bloods. If the probability is high then I'll seek a NIPT test. Its not diagnostic but aparently 98% sensitivity. Its not available on NHS. There's a private clinic near me that seems to do the NIPT blood test, its £450 which I'll pay. I think the sampe goes to USA and takes about 2 weeks for result. I think you can have it from 10 weeks.

Karigan195 · 06/01/2019 15:09

I’m booking NIPT at 10 weeks too :)

I’m 41. 6 weeks today. We weren’t trying either. Was a bit blasé due to age 😂😂.

Megan2018 · 06/01/2019 15:23

@Angie2578 and @Karigan195

Good to know I’m not the only one over 40! Congratulations both.
Neither me or DH (45) have any DC. We decided to not use contraception about a year ago to half heartedly see what happens but haven’t been actively trying-we had a hard year with a house move and have had very little regular sex! Only twice in last cycle, and only once in fertile window. I used an app just to track cycle length and period days-so only thing I am certain about is dates.

I have no symptoms at all, so can’t quite believe the test. WTAF sums it up. My friends and family will be so shocked as I never wanted children-no telling them until late as poss as would hate to get their hopes up -I am very aware that this may not have a happy end.

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/01/2019 16:41

Lots of ladies have successful pregnancies over 40! Several of my eldest childs parents are the same age as my parents! They must have been 40s having their dc!

serenawren · 06/01/2019 17:21

Hi ladies,

Can I join? Got my BFP today after 7 months of trying, I can't quite believe it! I'm due on the 16th☺️

@Karigan195 @IVEgottheDECAF @Megan2018
A friend of mine has just had her gorgeous boy at 42. A lady ar work had her boy and 40...apparently her mum had her naturally at 50!! Plenty of ladies have babies in their 40's and they are fine....I'm trying to be positive and assume all is well unless I found out otherwise. Think I'll pay for a private early scan, I don't think I can wait til 12 weeks!!! I want to see that little heartbeat!

IVEgottheDECAF · 06/01/2019 17:38

Im trying not to pay for any private scans this time around as need to watch the pennies, had a private sex scan with dc3 and 4 so need to resist that urge

yorkshiretealass · 06/01/2019 17:43

Also would like to join in!

Taken two tests over the weekend, a cheap Tesco one and then the next day a Clearblue digital. Very satisfying seeing the words "pregnant" on that one! I am nearly 5 weeks and should be due around Sept 10th.

Trying to keep as positive as I can at this early stage as I understand things can go not the way you want. Fingers crossed!

tinatsarina · 06/01/2019 19:16

@BeingATwatItsABingThing Flowers and hugs for you

Elena023 · 06/01/2019 19:19

Did any of you have any early pregnancy symptoms before taking the pregnancy test? I've been having cramps all week but now stopped. Have 1 more week before period is due.

MrsRRC · 06/01/2019 19:37

I had a couple of irrational rages and crying for no reason and weird looking areola - those were what made me test. These were maybe 4 days before my period was due.

I try to hold of testing too early because I had a cp and found it quite upsetting.

ZoZo2019 · 06/01/2019 19:42

I had sore boobs and was more emotional than usual, and then one day had a packet of crisps after not having any for ages, and they tasted horrible. I got my bfp the next day.

tinatsarina · 06/01/2019 20:13

@Elena023 I had cramping a few days before and implantation bleeding two days before I was due. With my first I had the runs and thought it was a bug till a work colleague joked it was my body clearing out for being pregnant it then clicked I was late so I tested. I'm getting more common symptoms this time round.

DuggeesWooOOooggle · 06/01/2019 20:29

Thinking of you BeingATwat, hope all is ok. The waiting is horrible. Hope the bleeding has eased off.

Yabbado · 06/01/2019 20:39

Looking for some advice please BFP on first response x3 last week and confirmed with CB digital wednesday(1-2 weeks) Have alot of CM intermittently but bb's not as sore today . Have pains and twitching down below on/off.
Was away all day today and have increased my water intake resulting in alot more peeing naturally. For some reason when I arrived home this evening decided to do a CB (not digital) HPT only a very faint line- barely visible so now I'm very anxious and worried.

Megan2018 · 06/01/2019 20:54

@Elena023

I’ve just had usual pmt symptoms. Genuinely nothing different yet. Still feel like period about to start! I keep going to loo every hour but nothing there.

I only tested due to being day 29, and am usually bang on time.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 06/01/2019 21:09

No it hasn’t eased off. I know deep down that it’s not going to end well.
