Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

Hugs @BeingATwatItsABingThing. So sorry 💐

happytobemrsg · 06/01/2019 21:48

Im really sorry Being. I had a chemical pregnancy in October & it floored me emotionally. Look after yourself Brew Flowers

Elena for my first pregnancy & the chemical I had in October I knew I was pregnant before I could test. My biggest symptom was I felt a "pulling", sort of scratchy feeling around implantation. This month I had no symptoms at all & only tested because my period was a couple of days late & I couldn't see any spotting telling me it was on it's way. Now though I've got terrible nausea. Wasn't neaekynrgis bad or early with DS. Same gagging when I brush my teeth though (just threw up trying to brush my teeth Sad)

happytobemrsg · 06/01/2019 21:48

** wasn't nearly this bad

DuggeesWooOOooggle · 06/01/2019 22:36

So sorry Being, it's such a horrible feeling. I hope you can get some clarification and peace about things soon Flowers

Elena023 · 06/01/2019 23:23

Thanks everyone for your replies & what symptoms you had. I guess I just have to be patient and wait till next week. Wishing you all well with your September babies.

Chloe98GLH · 06/01/2019 23:33

I found out yesterday I'm pregnant and I'm about 4-5 weeks I'm struggling not telling anyone aswell

Newbie19 · 07/01/2019 00:34

Hi all, congrats. Glad I found this group. Got bfp Friday 5th . Was so shocked as we just started trying in November. Had what I though were period cramps on 31st and 1st with slight spotting . I now hppe this was implantation bleeding, but would have been 16 days after ovulation which is quite late for implantation I would have thought?? Don't have many symptoms except lower cramping. Feel like expecting period. Feeling quite guilty as I drank a lot over Christmas.....like big big nights out with big hangovers!!!

tinatsarina · 07/01/2019 10:29

Anyone else struggling to fall asleep? I was so tired last night but couldn't sleep for a while.

Megan2018 · 07/01/2019 10:48

@tinatsarina
Yes! But I think that is because I was still in total shock. My head was literally spinning.

I also keep having the odd sensation like my period is about to start and keep expecting to see blood so can't relax at all.

Just rang GP surgery to find out what to do next and was literally shaking at saying "I'm pregnant" aloud as feel like a complete fraud. This cannot be real

Whisky2014 · 07/01/2019 10:50

tinatsarina yep I was knackered yesterday and almost fell asleep at 5pm but I managed to stay awake thinking I'd have a great sleep at night. Wrong. I was awake until 5am. Alarm was set for 6am there was no way I could go to work.
I'm also in the middle of a workplace bully thing so I'm going to dr today to see if i can get signed off since I stayed awake all night thinking and worrying about it :( but being awake at night is definitely a thing for me in this pregnancy.

Karigan195 · 07/01/2019 10:56

Bizarrely waking up at night was the first ‘sympton’ I got. I usually sleep through easily then 2/3 weeks ago I started waking up in the early hours. The ‘full’ feeling doesn’t help either as I constantly feel I need to pee!

init2winit · 07/01/2019 14:47

Hello :) sorry im a bit late to the party: admittedly I was watching the thread when I first thought I was pregnant as I don't want to jinx it but AF is a week over due, and the boob expansion and bloating is almost unbelievable. My abdomen feels as if it has been pulled at the seams from the centre most days, although im on pain killers so im putting it down to being backed up from those and this little one as the cause. The metallic taste kind of ebbs and subsides some days but the main reason I hadnt posted was because of the BFNs i got with a Boots electronic test the day of AF and three days after. Im nervous about testing in case it's negative again. My OH is warming to the idea - he is amazing for the complete 360 he made when i told him. He has made so much progress it feels exponential and I couldnt be more proud. We did have a chemical pregnancy last year which ended due to the medication I was on. Being wary and wiser, I am listening to my body and right now I am tucked up in bed with severe tummy cramps.
Is anyone else feeling these and how are you coping? I am titrating off of the pain medication so as to give my little bean a healthy head start. We even have a hand held vibrating massager and I've held it by my tummy to help. Sorry I rabbit on!
Hope everyone is alright/ excited?! Eeek Virgo baby on the horizon! My sister is gonna be thrilled! (as long as she doesnt have to share a birthday😉)

sa11zza · 07/01/2019 15:43

I am 5 weeks + 2 and when I first found out I had cramping but it's really settled down these past few days and now I feel pretty normal. Is anyone else not feeling very pregnant at all?

EllyNC291 · 07/01/2019 15:46

@being thinking of you, hope you are okay xxx

Karigan195 · 07/01/2019 16:09

Sa I have been exactly the same. Cramping etc at the beginning now just sore big boobs and a full feeling tummy but otherwise fine. It makes me worry a bit but I’ve seen others saying the same so trying to ignore it

Anondonkey · 07/01/2019 18:15

Glad to hear plenty of others are suffering from cramps. This is my first pregnancy and I’m trying to get used to them. Some have woken me up at night and they are definitely worse in the evening.

Boobs still hurt but I’ve found wearing a 100% cotton non-wired bra to bed is a god send! Husband isn’t too pleased as he feels he is missing out, especially as they keep growing (I was already an F/G cup!).

I am 5 weeks 2 days and today started the metallic mouth / can’t quench my thirst feeling. My office is also an absolute sauna as the heating is broken so it’s over 25 C in there everyday so I am generally suffering at work just feeling blaaaah.

Firsttimer86 · 07/01/2019 19:29

I’ve been told that the cramping and sharp pains is likely to be round ligament pain, usually experienced in the second trimester but can often appear in the first. Hopefully babies are just bedding in!

Whisky2014 · 07/01/2019 20:06

init2winit i had wbat i woukd describe as severe cramps but they only lasted 5 to 10 mins so I could bear it. But some of it was localised on my right side and so I paid for a private scan to make sure there wasn't anything wrong. Luckily all was ok and I was told some people's cramps are stronger than others.
Talking to my husband I said they are like intense growing pains. He told me he never suffered from them! (He's 6ft5"!!) Wonder if its just how susceptible to things like that each I individual is.

challengeyourreality · 07/01/2019 20:19

@tinatsarina that's interesting - I barely slept last night too, I lay awake in a sort of trance for hours, very unusual for me. Was desperate for a nap around 2pm though, hopefully I can sleep well tonight.

I have had some small cramps on one side but those have been fairly constant the past few weeks.

Otherwise still not really feeling pregnant - I feel very calm and centred but with sore boobs.

I did have a look at maternity outfits for summer while the sales are on but haven't bought anything yet. It's difficult to know what I will want to wear.

Whisky2014 · 07/01/2019 20:31

I'm sure each of my boobs weighs 1 tonne. So heavy!

Teddie1 · 07/01/2019 20:58

Anyone else woken up in the night with horrific nausea? The morning sickness is awful in the morning but it starts in the middle of the night - help! Sad
