Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

Karigan195 · 03/01/2019 15:57

I found this reassuring! Someone else might too

datayze.com/miscarriage-reassurer.php

Apparently even at 41 there is a now over 80% chance of baby being fine :)

Teddie1 · 03/01/2019 16:16

@Karigan195 this is so reassuring!! thank you! xx

Hi All, hoping to join ye... it's lovely to see a lively thread for September 2019. Super excited and also nervous. Due date I think around 12/9. This my first pregnancy and I'm 36.

Teachermummy83 · 03/01/2019 17:52

@chickenfillets, im so glad it’s not just me - I’m super anxious about having another chemical - I dread going to the loo!! So far so good though 🤞🏼Trying not to worry but it’s so hard!
I saw my GP today who was happy everything seemed fine and i’m doing all the right things so far. I’ve just come off the phone to the midwife to arrange my booking in appointment for the 17th. I don’t know if it’s because I’ve told people other than my hubby today but this suddenly seems very real!!!!!

Pastaallday · 03/01/2019 18:05

@Teachermummy83 I'm so anxious too! I get excited about it then think maybe I shouldn't in case something goes wrong but at the same time I do want to be excited!
Ohh who have you told?
I'm going to have a private scan at about 8/9 weeks. Just want to see baby!

Teachermummy83 · 03/01/2019 19:16

@pastaallday, glad lots of us are in the same anxious boat! I’ve not told anyone except my GP and the midwife I spoke to, but it suddenly just feels official because I’m on their records as pregnant. I’m scared of telling people in case things go wrong so don’t think I’ll tell anyone until my scan. I don’t think early scans will be an option as I live rurally and NHS scans are all that is available.

tinatsarina · 03/01/2019 20:01

I just booked the drs appointment today to get referred I'm so excited. Was so close to telling my work colleague but managed to keep my mouth shut.

Tefiti2 · 03/01/2019 21:20

Sorry @Teddie1 I have no idea either 🙈 I’ll just post on both threads for now! Do any of you have early reassurance scans? I have one on the 18th and am terrified and excited in equal measure - after 2 MCs I am cautiously optimistic x

Teddie1 · 03/01/2019 21:24

@Tefiti2 I am pretty new to mumsnet so didn't realise there was an "antenatal clubs" area for stuff like this! I'm keeping my eye on both now Smile

And I've got an early scan on the 21st! I'll be just under 8 weeks then. So excited and scare as well! Hope all goes well with yours Grin

@Tefiti2 hey, i thought I recognised your name. We were in the same thread, Ttc after mc. Congratulations 😊

Angie2578 · 03/01/2019 22:18

Hello Karrigan...

Thank you for responding to my message....congratulations! I hope all goes well for you...am 5 weeks today and am spending each day hoping everything is well. Saw Dr today to get high dose folic acid and have registered for midwife service...still don't entirely believe it and I just hope all is good.
Am feeling ok, a bit tired and have been quite nauseous and oh my boons are very sore!!! Been getting lots of cramps but doc today says that's normal.

DuggeesWooOOooggle · 04/01/2019 07:23

I haven't told my mum yet as she's a worrier but I have told a colleague who knew about my miscarriage in the summer and will tell a few friends who helped me through it too.

God forbid anything go wrong this time but I found it helpful to know that some people knew what I was going through - not only did it help me get through it but it also made the pregnancy feel more real and like it mattered. Everyone is different but honestly if you want to tell people, just tell them. If they are good friends/colleagues they won't spread it further and you may be glad of their support if things do go wrong - and also just for support if you have bad sickness etc.

happytobemrsg · 04/01/2019 08:27

Can I join?

I got my BFP on 2nd January. It was a complete surprise. I had a CM at the end of October & due to the fact that we have so much going on at the minute (work stuff, finances & house renovations) we decided to wait a bit before TTC. The whole household has had the lurgy all month so DH couldn't even remember when we BD'd it was so infrequent! (Thanks DH, very flattering!).

We have a gorgeous & cheeky DS who is 2.5 years old. Baby #2 is due 7th September. I self-referred to my hospital of choice so just waiting for blood test & scan dates.

I can usually tell I'm pregnant before I take a test but I had no idea. Not many symptoms- sore boobs, the odd twinge & im tired (but that is most likely due to DS deciding to wake at 6am daily).

tinatsarina · 04/01/2019 08:58

Got my first nauseous feeling this morning. Thankfully I wasn't sick but I felt awful. Never had it with my first. Anyone else getting sickness I'm 4+2

Pastaallday · 04/01/2019 09:43

Hey I'm not getting sickness really but I have just started getting period like cramps. I'm 5 weeks + 3. Very unnerving!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 04/01/2019 09:43

I have told my three best friends. I know they won’t tell anyone and even if they did, we don’t have other mutual friends as we all live in different places. We also told DH’s parents as they were trying to book a holiday for August.

MrsRRC · 04/01/2019 10:08

@Pastaallday Hi, got cramping for a couple of days around when my period was due and an also 5w3d today and any getting cramping. It’s mild though so am not too concerned.

Has anyone noticed their symptoms sort of wax and wane? For a coupe of days I had moderately sore nipples and now they have calmed down a bit and my bum and thighs have started to ache like I’ve been giving it some beans at the gym. Odd.

Karigan195 · 04/01/2019 10:28

Yes I keep worrying as my boobs feel less sore. 5+5 today but then I just nearly hurled brushing my teeth so guess it does wax and wane

Smudgeybum1 · 04/01/2019 10:32

Hi all I’m hoping to join in on your chat! So glad to have found others in sort of the same situation.
So my story , a bit of a long one. I am 44 and have a daughter age 12.
I had been trying for another child since I was 36. I had such a horrible time when I had my daughter it put me off trying for another, I had a nervous breakdown just before I had her , then found out I had Multiple Sclerosis when my daughter was 6 months old. I have polysistic ovaries aswell so it was not easy, never fell preg in 8 years! We gave up trying a few years ago now. So you can imagine how surprised I was to have a positive test. On Xmas eve I had a pain down in my ovary and it was worrying so I went to docs and he referred me for a scan in case the pregnancy was in my tube. Had the scan and the pregnancy was in the right place. No idea what the pain was. Anyway on Xmas eve I was 5 weeks and 4 days and they saw a heartbeat.

I’ve been feeling not too bad, quite anxious but from what I’m reading everyone is. Sore stomachs, like I’m going to get a period etc, feeling a bit sick. And worst of all is the headaches from usually tea time onwards. Ugh well that’s about it really, look forward to reading more of your stories as the weeks go on !

Smudgeybum1 · 04/01/2019 10:37

I’m 44 so your a spring chicken. I’ve been worried about all the things that can go wrong aswell but I guess it’s just a waiting game.

Teachermummy83 · 04/01/2019 11:20

I’m feeling a bit queasy today too ladies. Just hit 6 weeks and had been fine before this morning so hoping it’s just lack of sleep (body clock is all over the place trying to get back in a work routine after the festivities!) rather than proper morning sickness. Fingers crossed anyway, as work next week feeling like this will not be fun!

Carrotss · 04/01/2019 13:14

Just got my BFP on day period was due! I hate this period between finding out and the first scan! And not being able to tell anyone!!

Angie2578 · 04/01/2019 13:25

Smudgeybum1 its very heartening to hear your story! Contgratulations! I'm 40 and 5 weeks today...hating the waiting for a scan thing!! Lots of lower tummy cramps and very sore boobs plus a smidge of mild nausea and am quite tired but otherwise ok....just hopinh everything is ok!

Smudgeybum1 · 04/01/2019 13:55

@Angie2578 thanks. Hope all goes well for you. I’m the same, agony boobs. Dont even want to take my bra off at bedtime and having sore stomachs on and off. The headaches are the worst of symptoms tho. I read this can be normal. Trying not to read too much, because sometimes too much info isn’t good and starts you worrying.
