Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

It's so hard, there's always something to worry about just try and keep positive :)

Pretzel18 · 31/01/2019 15:15

Hi Luna

I am due the same date as you and its my first pregnancy too!

I have an early scan booked in for next Friday as I had a chemical pregnancy last month and wasn’t expecting to fall so quick 💕

Nausea and faint this week..

olderone · 31/01/2019 15:44

I had some blood showing on wiping earlier today, I've no pain. I'm now having an early scan next Wednesday. Hoping all is ok. I had 2mc's before I has my DD so fingers crossed all is ok

HRazzle · 31/01/2019 16:11

Hi all,

I found out i was expecting my first on new years day. I'm happy but feel absolutely rotten. I've had virtually non-stop nausea for the whole of Jan. I'm off to the doctor tomorrow to get some advice. I'm totally off all food and have to force myself to eat something. Food is incredibly important to me and about to be part of my new business but i can't even look at recipes. Ironically the morning sickness gets worse as the day goes on. I've had to tell people at work as i feel so ill but desperate to tell my close friends. It's so lonely feeling so sick all the time and i'm petrified it will continue for months more :(

ColdCottage · 31/01/2019 18:41

@HRazzle I'm so sorry you are feeling so I'll.

Speak to your friends. I'm sure they are the same people you would tell if you did miscarry so use them for support now rather than waiting until the 12 week scan. Telling people this time around when I found out has made my life so much easier and less stressful. It so helps to talk and have people understand why you are under the weather. Hugs

HRazzle · 01/02/2019 13:51

@ColdCottage thank you for your kind words.

My husband really doesn't want use to tell people outside the family until i've had the first scan and I think i should respect that. It's just the insane monotony of morning sickness.. it's so relentless :(

ColdCottage · 01/02/2019 18:13

@HRazzle I do understand you wanting to respect your husbands wishes but as much as he tires he can't understand how you are feeling. Whilst I don't suggest you tell the world I think having 2 or three friends you can talk to it about would be really helpful and he should be able to understand and respect your needs too. Try talking to him about it at least. Take care. It's tough this pregnancy thing.

tinatsarina · 01/02/2019 22:59

I haven't told many people. My partner told his friend today as he was coming over tonight for a few drinks and would have wondered why I wasn't joining them. It seems a bit awkward for me to tell people I'm pregnant anyone else get this?

Babycakes1989 · 02/02/2019 07:00

6 weeks Thursday gone, still spotting on and off not heavy - practice not concerned. Strange symptoms this time around! Restless legs at night ! Stuffy nose. Swollen feet. Hot flush EVERY morning. Hope everyone’s ok xx

BBell2 · 02/02/2019 07:43

@tinatsarina I get that! This is my second and it won't be any easier. Last time I left it so late to tell some people they asked. I work with a gob-shite of a woman who broadcast it like I was in the wrong getting on with work :/ my husband has no issues - his family probably all know despite me asking for some time.

PoppySeed91 · 02/02/2019 11:19

Week 7 for me has been the hardest week so far, sick every day at 10am sharp, I’ll give this bundle something, it’s very punctual! I’ve been really cold too but I think the struggling to eat so having little energy has made it worse! Saw our midwife too and she really put me at ease about all the pains I’ve been having. I just want to see our little miracle now, trying to make myself wait for the 12 week scan but it seems forever away!!
Anyone else convinced they know the sex of their baba yet? I don’t know why but I’m sure mine’s a girl!! 💕

LaBelleSausage · 02/02/2019 18:34

@PoppySeed91 I’m sure I’m having another boy. My skin is absolutely terrible and someone told me that’s the testosterone.
I had the same when pregnant with DS

betterbehomesoon · 03/02/2019 13:32

Hi everyone, I had a 7 week reassurance scan on Thursday and thankfully saw a heartbeat (the massive relief after last year's mmc), and now I'm getting the morning sickness!! It's lovely to know it's a sign of a healthy pregnancy but urgh, it's awful.

What is and isn't working for everyone to ease the queasy feeling?? I'm drinking lots of lemon ginger water. Id love a soup recipe for my work lunch if anyone has one.

Thanks x

tinatsarina · 04/02/2019 21:34

Massive waves of nausea today but not actually sick. I'm 8+4 thought it would have already peaked by now.

Firsttimer86 · 05/02/2019 10:57

Hi all - sorry I’m advance for TMI but not sure where else to go with this. I’m 10 weeks and am having a slightly yellow/brown discharge, is this normal? There’s no blood (yet) but this is new, normally it’s just the usual white you experience in pregnancy. Has anyone had the same thing? Any guidance? Xx

Newbie19 · 05/02/2019 11:25

Hi first time, I'm experiencing the same at 8.2 and wondering if it's anything to be worried about also

Whisky2014 · 05/02/2019 12:21

I'm 10+4 and not had this bit I think I read somewhere brown discharge is normal? If in doubt, call midwife.

laketi · 06/02/2019 17:53

Hi all,
just joining in the group!
i've had 2 very early miscarrieges in the past (7-8 weeks), but this time it looks all good, i'm very excited! I have my first scan on the 19th, can't wait ^^
All my family and friends, are back in France (except my husband) so i'm a bit scared about depression, my midwife told me it can be quite commun during or after pregnancy. Any tips on how to find other mums to be in my area (Oxford)? I moved in recently so don't know many people here yet.
I feel quite lucky with my symptoms, besides being very tired, especially last week - i slept ALL the time!, i don't have many others. Fingers crossed it goes on like this ^^ Best wishes for all of you with the nausea!

Amibear · 06/02/2019 18:06

Hi I'm new to this just wondering if anyone has had a few negative and a few positive lump was 12/12/18 been to docs today for bloods as I've had a molar pregnancy in the past I'm just so impatient lol Smile

Whisky2014 · 06/02/2019 20:52

Laketi congrats! You could maybe ask midwife for mother to be groups?

ColdCottage · 06/02/2019 21:22

Is anyone else finding their normal trousers too tight/make them nauseous?

ColdCottage · 06/02/2019 21:26

@laketi Oxfordshire is good for baby groups in general (even if sadly the children's centres have sadly closed now).

I'd join a local NCT group course. Depending on your income it's between £0 - £200 for you and your partner to go. I'd recommend the multi day course rather than the crammer weekend as you build more of a relationship with the other parents. Sign up early to get your preferred location and dates.

Anti-natal Pilates, yoga, water groups are also good ways to meet other new mums to be.

laketi · 06/02/2019 21:41

@Whisky2014 will do, sounds like a good first step! :)

@ColdCottage thanks for the tips! i'll check about the NCT courses and activities your mentionned :)

Firsttimer86 · 06/02/2019 22:59

Coldcottage - yes I’m almost 11 weeks and my jeans are way too tight! Running out of baggy things to wear at work 🤦🏻‍♀️

Thanks for tips above on the discharge, I read that yellow can indicate an expanding uterus and I’m getting round ligament pain too so hopefully all makes sense and is normal

olderone · 07/02/2019 06:50

Hi All I had an early scan yesterday I'm 7 +2 today. Couldn't see anything bar the yolk sac but definitely there which is the good thing. I've had 2mcs so I'm nervous. I'm going back in 2 weeks to hopefully see my little bean. First midwife appt next Tuesday.
