Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

I'm also 6+2, had no sickness and only very slight feelings of nausea, not sure I would even count them! I've had slight cramps, occasional headaches, no food aversions and no cravings...can't wait to have an early scan so I can see there is actually something in there 😂 I joked to DH that I might take another test as I have loads stocked up, he said go and take one just so you see you are! This was yesterday lunch time, and before the control line showed the test line was dark and I'm clearly pregnant 😂 many other people not having many symptoms?

Megan2018 · 28/01/2019 13:39

@Whisky2014
7+1 and not started feeling sick here - not everyone does though. There is simply no way to tell without a scan if this is good or bad. We might just be lucky!

Whisky2014 · 28/01/2019 13:40

It's horrible waiting! I Have my 12 week scan in 2 weeks time

Megan2018 · 28/01/2019 13:44

@Whisky2014
Not long now then! I don't even have my date yet, MW said they aim to scan at 11 weeks here so in theory this means 4 weeks to wait.
I'll probably have private NIPT and scan at 10 weeks though. So maybe only 3 weeks.

The lack of symptoms makes me think it is all in my head though. But my rational brain knows that people who have MMC can have full symptoms and people with no symptoms have had healthy babies. It is just luck (or lack of). My rationale brain not helpful though at 3am when my anxiety is in full force.

Whisky2014 · 28/01/2019 13:47

Could you get an early scan now? I was glad to see a heartbeat at 7 weeks which made it real! But then a day later I just worry all over again. I need a sonographer with me 24/7!

Megan2018 · 28/01/2019 13:53

@Whisky2014
No, I don't want one - i think it will only reassure me for 5 mins and I don't really want to spend any more money. I'd have to travel a good hour for it as it and NIPT will be £400 as it is! i don't want to go twice.

My head says that is makes no difference to the outcome, there is either a viable pregnancy or not at 12 weeks. A heartbeat now doesn't mean a heartbeat then (although obvs it does improve odds).

Whisky2014 · 28/01/2019 13:55

Yes, very true and that is what happened to me! You are more sensible than I am hehe

Justanother123 · 28/01/2019 14:18

I wish I wasn’t feeling sick! It’s awful. Feels like the worlds worst hangover! X

PoppySeed91 · 28/01/2019 18:44

@justanother123 I’m with you there, 7 weeks tomorrow and these past 2 days have been awful!! Constantly so nauseous, finally threw up and felt better for like 30 mins before it kicked in again. I’m trying to wait for my 12 week scan as well as it will be all the more magical but I’m such a worry pot! I feel like I’m being soft because I know so many women have it worse but this constant nausea is really taking its toll!

ColdCottage · 28/01/2019 20:32

I'd say save your money on early scans. I had them at 6/7/8/9 weeks with my last pregnancy (2nd) as my coil was suspected as still being in (it fell out we found out later) with a heart beat at 6/7/8 weeks but none at 9 weeks.

I did think about it for this one (7 weeks ish) but then thought if I had all those and still had a miscarriage and yet I had none with my son and it was fine. I think what will be will be and if anything any scans might have made me feel it was more certain when we really don't know.

I don't want to put a dampener on anyone but I think nature will do its thing and maybe save the money to spend on the baby (or you if you need it).

Stay positive all, I am a believer in positive vibes believe it or not.

ColdCottage · 28/01/2019 20:33

Also on another note this constant nausea is so crappy. With DS it was all over once I'd eaten something before I got out of bed as long as I gave it 1/2h before I brushed my teeth.

DuggeesWoggle · 29/01/2019 20:57

Hello all, I am well into nausea land too, needing to eat every hour or two just to keep it at bay. Taking it as a sign all is well but along with the extreme exhaustion which I probably feel around 70% of the time, I'm finding getting through day to day life quite tough right now.

Hope you are all hanging in there.

RM74 · 29/01/2019 21:53

Hi All!

Hope you're all feeling ok. I am in the thick of the symptoms- the nausea is so draining.

I went an early scan on Sunday. All was well with the baby but they did also find an ovarian cyst measuring slightly bigger at 6cm. It's something I'll need to talk to the midwife about so they can monitor it's progression to see if it gets any bigger. Has anyone else experienced this? Trying not to stress about it.

X

ColdCottage · 29/01/2019 22:49

@DuggeesWoggle I could have written your post myself 💤💤💤

betterbehomesoon · 30/01/2019 14:40

Is anyone else having awful tension headaches??? And extreme tiredness?? They are my only symptoms but not sure if they are common and usual?

I'm having a reassurance scan tomorrow cause I miscarried my previous pregnancy (so nervous for a good result). Hope everyone is happy and healthy and managing the oh so fun 1st trimester symptoms OK. X

Megan2018 · 30/01/2019 15:13

Interestingly I suffer dreadfully with tension headaches usually -not had a single one since BFP!
So my symptoms seem to be feeling better than usual....
No tiredness and I have given up caffeine so that’s mad!

DuggeesWoggle · 30/01/2019 20:45

You might be one of the lucky ones Megan2018! I am so fed up of feeling like shite, I am so goddam tired I have no energy at all. I haven't been properly sick yet but churning nausea in the morning and at other points in the day. Yesterday and this morning I brushed my teeth before eating and it made me properly retch.

It's only been a couple of weeks of this. I have no idea how women who get HG cope, I would be seriously suicidal.

Really hoping the second trimester is better...

On the other hand today marks the point my summer pregnancy that the baby died (although I wouldn't know it for a few more weeks as it was a missed miscarriage). Friday would be its due date. Sad

olderone · 30/01/2019 21:21

I'm now 6 weeks and get extremely cold around 8pm onwards I'm also tired. I can't seem to warm up unless I'm under the duvet for at least 30mins. Is anyone else this cold?

DuggeesWoggle · 30/01/2019 21:34

Yes I get very shivery in the evenings. I think it's just extreme tiredness, your body wants to shut down. I'm in bed now but need more food so will need to haul myself out. My tummy's been gurgling since dinner and now I feel ravenous. And not in a good way.

Megan2018 · 30/01/2019 21:39

It’s been -5 here at night, so I do feel cold in eves @olderone but I don’t think it is pg related with me-it’s just cold!

123AvaXx · 31/01/2019 07:59

Hi guys so I found out I was preg at 5 weeks I'm nearly 9 weeks I'm getting a bit worked up as I feel my pregancy is going to smoothly I know I shouldn't be panicking or complaining but I have anxiety I had morning sickness all last week and hardly any symptoms this week getting quite scared having no symptoms now as I've read it could be a miscariedge I had a scan at 8 weeks everything was fine has anyone else experienced this at 8 weeeks everything going smoothly no sighns really??

Whisky2014 · 31/01/2019 08:04

@olderone up to week 7 i was freezing at night. So was my cousin. Wonder if its a thing! My husband did not thanks me for trying to take his heat but I was so cold. I ended up buying hot water bottles

Babycakes1989 · 31/01/2019 11:35

I’m 6 weeks today and trying to remain positive. I had some light pink discharge last night only on tissue and a heavy feeling down below, not quite cramps but a dull ache. It’s gone now but it’s sent my mind into overdrive 🙁 xx

Whisky2014 · 31/01/2019 12:35

I thonk pink discharge is classed as normal. If it's bright red see your gp.

Babycakes1989 · 31/01/2019 12:45

Thanks Whiskey 🤞🏻 It definitely wasn’t bright red. Xx
