Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

Omg Chinese. Chow mein 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 got me wanting it too!!

TwittleBee · 22/01/2019 17:51

Oh don't! Take away is all I want to eat right now, especially Chinese but we can't justify it!

Had my early scan today, putting me at 5+5 instead of 5+2 and we saw a heartbeat!!!!!!

MrsLBear · 22/01/2019 17:53

@JJ94 me!! I'm 7 weeks tomorrow and I feel like I've got severe motion sickness. It's a killer. It started bang on 6 weeks for me. I work with clients too so struggling to put on a happy face when I feel HORRENDOUS. I do find eating little and often helps. Can't stomach big meals. And I actually find carb heavy meals worse but I suppose everyone is different. Also lots of water is helping me!

JJ94 · 22/01/2019 18:10

@MrsLBear just checked and i'm 7 weeks tomorrow too! Smile
My nausea also started at bang on 6 weeks!
it's meant to ease off around 12-13 weeks but I hope we don't have to wait that long!

AB321 · 22/01/2019 19:06

I'm 7+4 and don't have my first appointment until week 10! I'm scared something will go wrong and after reading lots of posts it sounds like most people have already had their first appointments 😞

MrsLBear · 22/01/2019 19:55

@JJ94 that's what DH keeps telling me and then I tell him that I've done a week of it and it's been TOUGH. Only 5/6 to go...!!!! I'm trying everything I can atm. Can't moan too much as I've yet to actually be sick. Ahh we are trimester twins! When are you due? Have you got your scan date?

JJ94 · 22/01/2019 20:08

My DH keeps saying "it's only the beginning yet" haha.
My booking appointment with the midwife is next Tuesday, and after this appointment i think i need to wait for a scan date. Have you got your scan date yet?
I have worked out my due date using apps and stuff which calculate it based on your last period and normal cycle length

How is everyone's nausea? Mine has been next level today- I was sick this morning, sick in the car (on the way to work- thank goodness for sick bags) and sick on the way home from work. Luckily was able to hold it together when I was actually at work. I'm just about managing work but apart from that I am completely useless at home! I know these are good signs but they are draining! Envy

RM74 · 22/01/2019 20:30

@MrsLBear I am totally the same. So difficult to pretend you are happy and full of energy at work when you feel totally grim! Roll on 12-14 weeks! Hope it gets better!

Boadiccea · 22/01/2019 20:56

@busyfool thanks for sharing that link. Looks great.

@Teddie1 that scan is brilliant. Congrats!

ShowerTheHorse · 22/01/2019 22:02

The nausea has really kicked in here. Felt a bit queasy on and off all day but has hit with full force now.

Feel awful. Haven't actually been sick though. Made DP get a chippy tea tonight though so there's that Grin.

Megan2018 · 22/01/2019 22:20

I don’t want to speak too soon but I am feeling marginally improved on the cold front! If I sleep tonight might manage work tomorrow.
I have had the most inactive 4 days of my life I think! Looking forward to being back to “ normal” whatever that is now!

Only sick feeling is when teeth brushing so far, my poor teeth are not getting well looked after just now Blush

Karigan195 · 23/01/2019 07:42

Mine hits when I’m hungry. If I’m not hungry so far I’m fine and there’s nothing. If I’m hungry my word this little bean lets me know it’s not happy. Painful dry heaves and waves of nausea 🤢

ChrisPrattsFace · 23/01/2019 11:04

RM74, mine is horrific at the minute. Late to work most mornings, back and forward to the toilet and can barely keep a sip of water down.
They joys.

yorkshiretealass · 23/01/2019 12:01

I've had to take today off as sick leave as the nausea is so bad I can barely move. Managed to eat a bit of toast and drink some water, but feel extremely weak and exhausted. I hope this doesn't happen everyday!

ChrisPrattsFace · 23/01/2019 12:09

Yorkshire, I’m two weeks into feeling like that!
I find it amazing how people keep it secret for so long, I am so so sick I can’t even do my job properly!

Whisky2014 · 23/01/2019 12:21

How far along are you both?

yorkshiretealass · 23/01/2019 13:48

@ChrisPrattsFace i know! I've had to tell two people at work I'm close with otherwise it would be difficult to get away with. It's going to be a long few weeks until the 12 week mark.

@Whisky2014 I'm 7+1! I've been nauseous for about a week but Monday it hit me hard. Confused

Winterl · 23/01/2019 14:06

Can I join?
I’m around 5 weeks due at the end of September. I haven’t had any symptoms yet, I think it’s still a bit early days. Not looking forward to the morning sickness!
I’m hoping being on this thread is going to help it sink in as it doesn’t feel real at the moment.

Karigan195 · 23/01/2019 14:40

Congratulations don’t worry the expanding waistline in the not too distant future will help it sink in :)

Hi

@loti92 sorry to hear what you’ve been going through. Glad to hear you heard heart beat today. Hope it goes ok Friday.

I had first midwife appointment today. I’m 8weeks 2days due sept 1st. She was lovely midwife and we went through the pack. She told me about the Bounty app and squeezed app to do pelvic floor exercises.

I got a bit ready when there as was wierd to finally be speaking to someone else about it! Only partner knows. She booked scan in 2weeks time.
I took in a urine sample which she tested for dehydration etc all ok.

I still feel nauseous and sore boobs. Have to eat every hour as starving. It’s all starting to feel a bit real now. Starting to get my head together as been a whirlwind 8 week’s to be honest.

Hope everybody’s appointments go well x

Cheekychimp1 · 23/01/2019 16:01

Msd2416 · 23/01/2019 16:10

I’m 8 + 2 and have booked a private early scan for Saturday as I’m getting nervous as apart from sore boobs and a wave of sickness every other day or so I’m fine. Constantly starving though! Anyone else or am I just being a pig Confusedx

Karigan195 · 23/01/2019 16:13

No you aren’t the only one. Constantly hungry!
