Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

It's so hard isn't it? I find it difficult to try and make excuses up as to why i'm feeling ill without letting it slip!
I think if I worked in a small office or work team then i'd just tell them i was pregnant so they'd understand. But i work by myself and have lots of different clients coming in every day so i dont want to tell them all, not yet anyway!

Hi @RosieM74,

Like you I had a positive test last Thursday and states I am 2/3 weeks. Since then I have taken 4 tests as it doesn't feel real, but I doubt tests you have done are not all wrong and you did a clear blue :)

I am petrified that something is going to go wrong and feels like everyone who I have spoke to about it something bad has happened to them.

I get cramps every day, nothing sever just a dull ache, which I have read is normal, it sounds like you do too?

Is anyone else worried about making it to there 12 weeks?

How do you stop thinking about it?

Also no sickness and not much pain in the breast area, again is anyone else feeling like this?

Thank you :)

LaVieEstBelle8 · 22/01/2019 14:46

@MrsB20 I am feeling the exact same as you. I'm about 5+3 now and super scared something is going to go wrong. I've had pulling sensation in my lower tummy earlier in the week. No I'm just having an intermittent dull ache or wind pains. My boobs don't feel different at all.

I'm just trying not to think too far forward at the moment. I have a midwife appointment at my GPS on Friday and hopefully in 2 weeks I'll book an early scan for some reassurance. I think the sickness often kicks in after 6 weeks so it might be a little early yet. Who thought we'd be wishing for sickness!! X

Karigan195 · 22/01/2019 14:49

Me too. I’m refusing to plan or buy anything yet as nothing’s certain until we get past the first trimester. Crossing fingers it’s all good but planning for the worst

Whisky2014 · 22/01/2019 14:52

Just try and think positively, its all you can do.

I told my granny yesterday and she is so excited. We went for lunch at a nice farm restaurant and she bought a cute woolen baby rattle. :) so sweet.

Whisky2014 · 22/01/2019 14:54

Is anyone suffering from "baby brain" though? I seem to be doing a lot of silly things!

ChrisPrattsFace · 22/01/2019 15:06

JJ94, my whole work know because I’ve been so sick. I’m about 7weeks, and since day one have had horrific morning sickness!
I work in a high risk environment and it was very obvious very quick.
No advice other that a hand hold from another sufferer!

pinkpig381 · 22/01/2019 15:14

@MrsB20 I've had no sickness and my boobs feel and look the same, only thing I've really noticed is I've got a faint line from my belly button down, I didn't think that happened until later on but it's definitely noticeable 🙈

MrsB20 · 22/01/2019 15:25

@pinkpig381 really, you know its so reassuring to know that your not the only one, Have you spoken to a doctor or midwife yet?

MrsB20 · 22/01/2019 15:29

@Whisky2014 Also I couldn't agree more.. it seems like just thinking is hard work at the moment.. Has anyone's clothes got tighter? I hope its because I am pregnant or its just the Christmas weight still lol :)

pinkpig381 · 22/01/2019 15:29

@MrsB20 That's why I keep checking here to check I'm not alone 😂 and I rang my doctors surgery last Wednesday and she said to ring main reception to book in with the midwife when I'm around 8 weeks so I have an appointment for mid Feb now! Seems so long away 😂 we might get an early scan the day before the appointment to see how everything is looking! Have you been in touch with your doctor yet?

Karigan195 · 22/01/2019 15:38

MrsB20 yes clothes are definitely tighter. Caved and dug out a skirt a size larger from before I lost weight this week as tight waistbands are awful at the moment. I thought it was bloat but apparently you can show a month earlier when it’s not your first and I’m between 9 and 11 weeks now we think (can’t wait for dating scan so I can know for sure).

Butternutbee · 22/01/2019 15:48

Hi ladies, mind if I join? Based on my last AF im 6+3 today. I had 2 previous MCs at 6 weeks and 6+1 so it’s been a very nerve-wracking time. My GP and midwife have been wonderful and I’ve been signed off work until my reassurance scan at 8+2.

For the last week I’ve had the most awful nausea from the minute I wake up until when I go to bed, sometimes even waking me up in the middle of the night. I haven’t vomited but the nausea is all consuming. I’ve tried every trick in the book to try to combat it but nothing so far has worked. I’m trying to be positive as I didn’t have any nausea with either of my losses so I’m telling myself it’s a sign that this bean might stick. I’m worried that little bean isn’t getting the right nutrients though as all I can stomach is dry bland foods (bread, crackers, crumpets).

Anybody else feeling sick as a dog but not actually vomiting?

Whisky2014 · 22/01/2019 15:58

Clothes tighter here and im actually getting reqlly irritated at certain materials. Jeans for example..i cannot stand to wear them! I hate putting on a bra now buthave to as they are so huge (and growing daily!).

Butternutbee i dont feel nausea all the time. I feel sick occasionally without actually being sick but I notice it's if i haven't eaten in a while. So im just snacking all day!

MrsB20 · 22/01/2019 15:59

@pinkpig381 my midwife has not called me back yet and the doctors said to only call if there is an emergency, she is supposed to be calling me end of this week start of next week. Do you find that you are googling a lot of things, I read the other say not to have hot baths. Which I have been having for since I was pregnant!.. I don't know what to believe at times...

@Karigan195 I feel your pain, I was that uncomfortable I went to Sainsbury's changed my trousers to a stretchy skirt and changed into a wireless bra! I'm so ashamed lol Shock

@Butternutbee I hope you feel better soon and my fingers and toes are crossed for you :)

sa11zza · 22/01/2019 16:06

I'm 7 weeks and 4 days!
Just had my booking app.. I got asked to provide a urine sample which I did!
I got blood taken and I also got the offer of a flu jab which I also took! They took my height, weight and blood pressure and then told me which pathway I would be green or red! The midwife talked me through when my appointments would be and what they would be for! She also told me about classes locally within the swimming pool or gym that are suitable for pregnancy!
Roll on the scan now hope I get my date soon

Butternutbee · 22/01/2019 16:09

Thanks @mrsb20 ☺️

@whisky2014 I’ve tried snacking little and often and it’s still there 😢 I’m trying to be positive about it but it’s hard to be happy when you feel this gross 24/7 lol.

Whisky2014 · 22/01/2019 16:20

Also, juicy things like grapes and tomatoes help me.

pinkpig381 · 22/01/2019 17:13

@MrsB20 it's annoying we can't see them as soon as we find out 🙈 leaves us in limbo a bit but I guess there's nothing to be done, and I'm googling everything 😩 my husband and I want a Chinese tonight but I'm worrying whether I can have it or not 😂 and I read that about baths! What I gathered from it was to not have scalding hot baths if that's what you normally do, just a warm bath to relax in but not anything to make you sweat and raise your temperature 🔥 x

sa11zza · 22/01/2019 17:18

Pink pig, of course you can have a Chinese as long as it doesn't include any of the foods we shouldn't eat! You have me really fancying a Chinese now... ha ha

foreverthe2ww2 · 22/01/2019 17:22

mmm salt and pepper ribs and crispy shredded chilly beef

pinkpig381 · 22/01/2019 17:26

@sa11zza @foreverthe2ww2 okay you convinced me 🤣

Karigan195 · 22/01/2019 17:26

Chinese is not banned but I spent money on an Indian the other day. Only got a mild one but the baby apparently didn’t like it. It didn’t stay down long. Waste of money 😂

Whisky2014 · 22/01/2019 17:28

*mmm salt and pepper ribs and crispy shredded chilly beef

foreverthe2ww2 · 22/01/2019 17:29

@pinkpig381 hehe yay, enjoy it x
