Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

Got my scan letter today - 1st March. I'll be 12w +6d - such a long wait!!!!

TwittleBee · 12/01/2019 20:54

I got my scan letter through too! 4th March, I'll be about 11weeks!

Whisky2014 · 12/01/2019 21:56

Do you get your scan letter after the midwife letter?

Sydneysider2019 · 12/01/2019 23:52

@josico58 - I went to a GP and got bloods done. I knew the day my last period was due that I was pregnant so my hcg levels are from 19dpo (which is quite early I think- reading forums, seems like around this time its still common to get faint results etc). I think I would freak out - I’d have no idea what to do! Not even thinking about the big picture practically, space-wise, financially etc, just the everyday stuff - if they both start crying and you pick one up, how do you pick the other one up as well? If one is sleeping, while the other is feeding and then they swap over, do you (mum) never get to sleep at all?? So yeah, trying to keep myself calm until the first scan.

TwittleBee · 13/01/2019 00:25

So with me it's self referral to the MWs. 3 days after I self referred they sent an email back saying Congratulations and that my MW will call me in 7 days to book in the 1st appointment, meanwhile theyve asked the scan department to book me in for the saying scan too. I should imagine it really widely differs from place to place though Whisky2014

Just gone 6 weeks and starting to feel really nauseous in the morning and have actually been sick the past few days. Feel like every morning I am waking up with a hangover so far. After a while it eases so I am hoping it will just be the mornings. Anyone else feeling nauseous yet?

LondonFoodie2019 · 13/01/2019 09:24

Hey everyone, I wasn’t sure whether to post in the antenatal version of this thread? Confused
No nausea for me yet, or anything else really, other than my boobs feeling a bit bigger! I’m possibly around 6 weeks but not really sure as I haven’t had a period since my coil came out in December, I think we conceived immediately. So consequently neither me or DH can really believe I’m actually pregnant.
Debating whether to fork out for an early scan. Are many other people having one?

Megan2018 · 13/01/2019 10:01

@RM74
Only 5 weeks here so no sickness yet!

@LondonFoodie2019
I’ve decided against as some people measure smaller than dates and then have all sorts of worry about whether all ok. I’m having NIPT around 10 weeks so will get a scan earlier than the NHS but decided against anything earlier.
Still disbelief that it is real, as only 5 weeks today.

appless · 13/01/2019 10:40

Is it common to have no symptoms at this stage? I'm 5+1 and feel totally normal. Second pregnancy.

Karigan195 · 13/01/2019 11:00

Symptoms totally vary person to person so entirely possible.

At that stage I just had a fat full feeling and bigger sore boobs but that was it.

appless · 13/01/2019 11:25

The only thing I have noticed is a heightened sense of smell... some things smell really gross (eggs... yuk!)

I'm trying to think back to my first pregnancy but I can't remember at what point I started feeling real symptoms.

EllyNC291 · 13/01/2019 13:03

Hey guys, not been here for a while but how’s everyone doing!?
I’m 6 weeks + 1 and I feel unbelievably rough. The nausea is constant and I can barely eat anything, boobs throbbing, intermittent back ache that the dr tells
Me is normal. Feel like crying half the time- keep reminding myself it will be so worth all of this! Just hoping it subsides and I’m not one of those unlucky people that feels like this to 40 weeks. If anyone has any tips on how your coping please let me
Know!!!

Crashbumpthud · 13/01/2019 13:15

Hi everyone. I’m 6+5 and feeling really awful too. I only started feeling awful 2 days ago, so for those who haven’t got symptoms yet, I would enjoy it!

I’ve not really managed anything so far this weekend, other than multiple naps. I had 3 (!) yesterday and I was still exhausted.

Anyone got any tips for feeling really dizzy and queasy? Food doesn’t really appeal but trying to eat...

LondonFoodie2019 · 13/01/2019 13:30

@Megan2018
I hadn't even thought about NIPT! I guess we'll probably just have the combined testing
Very much in disbelief here too, as is DH. I've just bought a CB weeks indicator test to do tomorrow morning to see if it agrees with my guess about how many weeks along I am

LondonFoodie2019 · 13/01/2019 13:32

@EllyNC291 @Crashbumpthud
Sorry you're both feeling so rubbish, I hope it gets better soon Flowers
I most definitely am appreciating having no symptoms yet, although I think it will feel more real when I do

Teddie1 · 13/01/2019 13:37

@Crashbumpthud @EllyNC291 if feel you girls so much I'm absolutely wrecked by my symptoms SadSadSad just under 7 weeks and been nauseous constantly for about 10 days. Food is just such a massive stress as I'm off everything - but going too long without anything make it worse. It's so horrible. On top of that I'm so exhausted, emotional. Can't really do anything. Work is the biggest struggle. I've just cried in the toilets the past few mornings BlushOn nights next week and have no idea how I will cope.

People who don't have many symptoms - please enjoy it! I don't know how I'm going to survive the next 6 weeks.

Eating tiny amounts regularly is bearable - rich teas and ginger nuts and pleasant to eat at times

I'm still feeling rotten today - I am still full of cold although I think it's starting to improve. I just have absolutely no energy at all, I feel really feeble, shaky and tearful. It's just an unfortunate combination of the virus on top of being 6 weeks pregnant. Thankfully my parents have taken my son for the day today (and yesterday) so I can rest and do some packing for the move. I feel like I should be packing but just can't do much at all. I think I will have to stay off work tomorrow. Nausea thankfully only slight at the moment, can't cope with anything else!

Must ring new surgery tomorrow to register and arrange booking in appointment!

Megan2018 · 13/01/2019 14:12

Sorry so many of you feel rotten! I am half wanting more symptoms/half wanting not!!

@LondonFoodie2019
I am nearly 41 and DH 45 (first pregnancy) so we will be high risk hence NIPT. If there is an issue I want to know asap. Going to ask GP tomorrow which test they think best. If I was a lot younger I’d probably not bother.

tinatsarina · 13/01/2019 14:15

So I bought this yesterday I'm only 5+3 so still early but I couldn't help myself.

LondonFoodie2019 · 13/01/2019 14:21

@Megan2018
That’s fair enough :) fingers crossed it will all be ok

Whisky2014 · 13/01/2019 14:28

So 8 had my Rescan. I saw a heart beat which was amazing and I cried I was so overwhelmed.

Then she told me she thinks I have a possible bicornuate or separate uterus. I've just googled and it significantly increased risk of miscarriage in 2nd trimester or premature birth.
She told me to mention it at my 12 week scan. I'm quite worried about this :(

tinatsarina · 13/01/2019 15:09

@Whiskey2014 does that mean you have two uterus' ? My friends sister had that and has three children one was premature but he's a perfectly healthy 8 year old.

Whisky2014 · 13/01/2019 15:23

I'm not sure if it's 2 but its like 1 with a divide in the middle. It was difficult to see and the woman told me to me tion at scan and to get a 3d scan as it will be easier to tell.
It does seem like premature or breech and c sections are common.

HEFebery · 14/01/2019 07:00

Hope you don't mind me tagging in!

Confirmed over the weekend I am pregnant - due end of September if my ovulation dates are correct.

So so excited, and very nervous after a miscarriage last summer so holding my breath until 12 weeks.

I actually feel OK, just wiped out by the fatigue. Fell asleep in the car on the way home from shopping yesterday - which has never happened before (not me driving obviously!).

I have quite a stressful job in PR, which can include late nights/ long days etc so just hoping I can manage over the next few weeks without it being obvious somethings up or me falling asleep at my desk Grin

DuggeesWoggle · 14/01/2019 07:27

Please send good vibes, I've had a bit of blood this morning Sad. I'm not going into work as I've still got one blocked sinus which is very sore so I might try and ring EPU and see if they can see me today. I have the number from my miscarriage last time so hopefully they won't mind me ringing directly. We're moving house on Friday FFS, I just can't deal with this right now. Sad
