Hi! So I got my BFP on Christmas Eve and am just under 5 weeks. It's quite a lonely time keeping quiet until after 12 weeks so I thought I would start a thread for ladies who are roughly the same time along so we can keep each other company and talk about this exciting time!

What are people symptoms? Do you feel pregnant yet?? I feel pretty normal! Maybe a little more tired but otherwise fine.
How are people going to play New Year's Eve? We have a big do on the 31st and a family lunch on the 1st - don't know how I'm going to get away without drinking!

Xx

@Teddie1 I am fairly certain it’s in the post for me, all of my other symptoms are worse at night - like my boobs, during the day they are bearable but they wake me up at night. The few times I’ve got up to pee in the night I’ve felt a bit sick and groggy.

sa11zza · 07/01/2019 21:26

Girls I feel for you all, my best friend had awful morning sickness with her first pregnancy she was signed of work it got so bad!
Wonder if I will stay lucky or will it come to me soon.

tinatsarina · 07/01/2019 21:42

I get nausea as the day goes on, on and of like. Haven't actually been sick tho but I'm only 4+5 so it could get worse.

happytobemrsg · 07/01/2019 21:44

I feel sick ALL DAY. I feel absolutely fine eating but before I eat & afterwards I feel nauseous. Doesn't bode well. I'll be the size of a house by the end of the pregnancy

iano · 07/01/2019 22:08

Hello,
can I join you guys? Just got my BFP!!
Very excited and hoping all goes well.
I had quite a difficult time in my pregnancy with DC1 following a scare at the anomaly scan. The birth wasn't great too so I'm hoping for better luck this time. Would love some companions along the way.

@Teddie1....I feel your pain! My boobs are agony at night! Just turning over in bed makes my eyes water! Not too bad in the day with a bra on, but as soon as I take it off....ouchy! Also feeling a bit queasy at times, less interested in chocolate which is strange for me....and slightly annoying as we have a ridiculous amount of Christmas chocolates still to eat! Been getting lots of cramps in lower tummy with occasional sharp pains and keep feeling like I have a period coming but that's been happening since before period was due on Boxing Day!

tinatsarina · 07/01/2019 22:36

I've a friend's 40th on Saturday and I've already said I'm bringing alcohol free wine cuz I'm doing dry January but what if they keep egging me on to have a drink. I haven't told anyone yet so don't really want to have to tell them before my own parents just to get them off my back. Any suggestions for responses just incase?

Firsttimer86 · 07/01/2019 22:38

Have you tried sleeping with a non wired bra on? Or a soft sports bra? I’ve found it’s the only thing that works for me during the night, otherwise rolling over is like a painful military manoeuvre...!

Whisky2014 · 08/01/2019 01:04

In 40 hours I have slept 1.5hrs. I am so tired yet I'm awake. WHY?Angry

Clementine19 · 08/01/2019 04:16

@iano and @Loti Congratulations!
I’m 5 weeks tomorrow and felt sick for the first time yesterday. In my other pregnancies I’ve had evening rather than morning sickness🤔

Clementine19 · 08/01/2019 04:18

Oh @Whiskey it’s rubbish, isn’t it? I’m awake with the toddler now and know I’m not getting back to sleep. X

Sydneysider2019 · 08/01/2019 06:35

Hi all
Can’t believe I am on mumsnet - this all feels surreal. I’m almost 37, just found out I am pregnant (for the first time) a few days ago.
I think I am 3+2. Since finding out, have not been unable to sleep at night and have been waking up early which is very unusual for me, as I love my sleep.
I didn’t have any symptoms before my period was due - but I noticed that I hadn’t had any usual pre-period spotting - thats what made me suspect something was up.
A weird thing that I noticed a day before finding out and since then is very bright yellow pee (almost fluorescent).
Anyone else here a mid-September due date?

iano · 08/01/2019 07:25

Are you sure you're only 3+2 @Sydneysider2019?
I thought I was 3 weeks with my first when I was actually 5 weeks pregnant. The clearblue Test ist from conception but the nhs (and seemingly everyone else) calculate from the first day of your last period. So you might be further along than you think...

Megan2018 · 08/01/2019 09:06

Congratulations @Sydneysider2019
I am 4+2 according to my dates/calculator, due 15 Sept. Although I don't believe it at all and am convinced it is some sort of mistake. I got an immediate clear positive on first response day after period due but not re-tested yet as am scared it will be negative!

I'll re-test next week I think before see GP.

TwittleBee · 08/01/2019 09:12

Hi all! Hope I can join!

BFP this morning at 8dpo (very clear line too!) Pretty nervous as we conceived before AF post MMC (first day of bleed 5th Dec)

I think my EDD is around 22nd September basing from point of conception rather than LMP

challengeyourreality · 08/01/2019 09:23

Welcome @Sydneysider2019 and @TwittleBee.

Josico58 · 08/01/2019 09:26

Can I join? I got my BFP yesterday and if calculations are correct I am 5 weeks 3 days, due early September.

I'm so excited and shocked and feel pretty overwhelmed but so so happy.

This is my first pregnancy and we've been trying since September last year. I don't really have many symptoms except giant & sore boobs and extreme fatigue, also feeling super hungry.

Just made my midwife appt for next month, I will be 9 weeks.

As others have posted, I'm feeling nervous something will go wrong, mostly because lots of my friends suffered MCs and MMCs, and also because I was drinking lots over the festive period & NYE (before I even suspected I was +)

Excited to go through this journey with you all xx

Sydneysider2019 · 08/01/2019 10:35

@iano I am finding it quite confusing - I thought pregnancy starts from conception which is roughly 14 days after LMP, but as you said, a lot of resources (like the Ovia app) count right from LMP - even though I was not pregnant during the first two weeks at least. My estimated delivery date as provided both by the app and my GP is 12th September.

Josico58 · 08/01/2019 10:59

@Sydneysider2019 it is confusing! If I understand correctly, the date to go by is the date since your LMP, even though for those 2 weeks you weren't really pregnant. That's why full term is 40 weeks but its actually only really 28, because those 2 weeks of being "pregnant" were before conception.

I'm going by my LMP date as its more weeks which makes me feel better about it, lol!

TwittleBee · 08/01/2019 11:41

Yeah must admit I found it odd when I had my first pregnancy! But does make sense as most people wont know when they ovulated so gives best estimation I guess? It is how the MWs go about dating us before that Dating Scan around 12 weeks!

Josico don't worry about the drinking, it shouldn't really affect the baby at this such early stage as it is pretty self contained

Anyone booking an early scan btw?

Malteaser12 · 08/01/2019 12:30

Ladies still no major symptoms for me, hoping it’s nothing to worry about and I’m just lucky! Received my 12 week scan date through the post today, starting to feel real now! Hope everyone else is feeling great xxx

FrancesV83 · 08/01/2019 15:02

5+6 today and really not enjoying the ever present feeling of nausea and the inability to drink anything. Identical pregnancy to my son so far.

TwittleBee · 08/01/2019 15:15

Wouldn't worry too much about symptoms just yet Malteaser12 and FX everything is fine. (I had awful symptoms all day past my D&C for the MMC, so I'm not taking comfort in having any this time)

This pregnancy feels different to past couple. Metallic taste (never knew what people meant by that) and banging headache

GemmaJen · 08/01/2019 15:32

Hello? Tentatively posting on the pregnancy board for the first time 🙈 Got my BFP on the 4th at 8dpo, now got a very dark positive at 12dpo. First baby but had a mmc in November at 11w (8w3d growth) and a chemical at the beginning of December. Switching between very excited and cripplingly anxious at the moment. Went to GP yesterday which didn't help massively, got everything crossed for a sticky bean this time 🤞

Not got any proper symptoms yet. Just some abdominal pressure in the last few days and finding some smells revolting ( currently on a train with lots of people eating fast food - could be sick! 🤢)

For those of you that Bbt and are poas addicts, when did you stop after your BFP?

@Sydneysider2019 another mid September date 👍
