Thought I'd start this in honour of Purple's effort so far, hope you don't mind Purple I liked this title best.

Welcome to our shiny new thread

That's why I gave my email address - you're a special case in that texting just isn't practical!

Firststar, what wonderful, wonderful news!! Congrats to you and your newly expanded family!!!!

Mumpbump · 06/08/2007 12:49

Right - back again now after managing to read through all the posts since Friday! This is a busy thread, isn't it???

Uki - sorry you've been feeling down. Due dates are difficult, aren't they? Are you over your cold now? Did I mention I've been given a combined prescription for folic acid and iron and feel so much better now than I have in weeks. If you're feeling weak and tired on a daily basis, I would seriously get your bloods done to check for anaemia. Now I feel better, I can't believe how awful I felt!! Anyway, you're the grand dame of the thread now!!! Only a couple more weeks to go and this lo will be safely with you...

Congratulations and welcome to Oinker and Cefer. As others have said, here is wishing you both boring and uneventful pg.

my1stbaby - very pleased to hear about your scan! What a shame dh wasn't there...

Haylstones - I hope that your scan goes well today and you get the reassurance you want!

Hello to everyone else! Sorry I can't post to everyone, but I only have two days at work this week and am then busy sorting stuff out for dh's 40th on Saturday and off for the first half of next week, hopefully helping my sister sort some stuff out for her wedding... No rest for the wicked!!!

Haylstones · 06/08/2007 13:51

Congratulations firststar, that is such great news
Scan went well, am 11 weeks and heart beat flickering away nicely. We're now facing the question of who/when we tell as there's really no reason not to now... yet part of me wants to kepp it as 'our' news for now! We'd fretted over the blood tests and whether or not to have the Downs screening one as it was today and had finally decided not to go for it. However, when we got there they weren't doing bloods today so decision was out of our hands. It's so frustrating as we'd focussed on having to make a decision by today then it didn't matter. Am tempted not to have any of them now, too many thinkgs to think about!

PurpleLostPrincess · 06/08/2007 13:52

Wow!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO FIRSTSTAR!!!! Soooo pleased for you!!!! Just popped in to say HI and well done - you're truly an inspiration to all of us!!!

Sorry haven't been able to catch up with everybody, this thread moves so quickly - we'll need a new one soon!

Had a bit of a scare last week as I was having lots of bh's and they started getting regular and painful - thankfully they went away and all was fine! Here I was worrying about being in premature labour (32 weeks at the time) when poor DH was worried we might lose this lo bless him! I guess the reality is that it can be just as hard on our DP's as it can be on us sometimes!!

Still knicker watching though - I don't think it ever goes away tbh!!

Welcome to all the newbies!!!

Big hugs to all the regulars - I promise I'll have a read up and catch up with you all this week - sorry I've been so rubbish!!!

(not long for you now UKI!!!!!)

PLP (33+3) xxxx

Haylstones · 06/08/2007 13:58

I forgot to say, if anybody else wants to send me their email address I will forward to others on this list (I only have 3 (?) so far). NO need to add anything you don't want passed on or mobile numbers etc.
I'll see how many more i have by the end of the day and then send them out. i'm being really lazy in trying to avoid sending the same stuff out dozens of times, sorry!

Mumpbump · 06/08/2007 14:01

Good news, Haylstones!

I am not going to forward my email address as I only have my work email and they monitor it quite closely. However, I will try to get dh to post when bubba puts in an appearance...

becklespeckle · 06/08/2007 14:11

Great news Haylstones!, IKWYM about keeping it as your secret, I did not really tell anyone in RL until I was about 16-17 weeks! There are still a fair few I haven't told as yet, feel a bit silly making an announcement now am further along.
PLP, wow, scary week for you last week, glad all is well again now - makes you realise that the worrying doesn't really stop, it just changes.
I would not dare even ask DH to try and post for me, he is hopeless with computers!

MrsMcJnr · 06/08/2007 14:50

Firsty so relieved to hear from you, I was getting worried! Congratulations!! what a bruiser!!! are you madly in love? sorry that it came to an emergency section are you doing ok? Are you going to share his name? sending huge hugs.

Hello to all trying to catch up but struggling!

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/08/2007 15:05

Just popped in to see if there was any news and....

yaaaay firsty .

big big congratulations and I hope you're recovering well from the section.
Am at the size of him. I hope you didn't buy too many newborn clothes, LOL.

Can we talk on the success after mc thread now....I'd hate to lose touch with everyone here after you have been so supportive

siameez · 06/08/2007 15:15

Firststar that's so exciting!! I'm so delighted to witness a successful ending to this rollercoaster trauma we're all going through. It does turn out all right in the end! Lots of love and congratulations to all of you!

On a more minor note, I'm also delighted to be feeling a bit sick and tired today. Sent a text to DH to say I was feeling awful and he replied 'I'm so happy to hear that!' What a weird world we now inhabit.

Have also brought my first scan forward to this Friday because I was so stressed about it all. The guy at EPAU was absolutely lovely when I called. I said I knew I was probably being silly as there was no reason to think anything was wrong and asked if it would be too early to really tell anything (I'll be 6+3). He was totally sympathetic to my madness and said it might be too early but at least coming to have the scan would make me feel as though I was doing something positive. I've read so many NHS horror stories on these threads I can't help feeling overwhelmingly grateful I have the best EPAU ever!

Happy day all round (so far.......!)

siameez · 06/08/2007 15:19

And congratulations oinker!! Sorry, hadn't skimmed back far enough. Welcome

becklespeckle · 06/08/2007 15:23

Yay Siameez, glad you feeling a bit rough (in the best possible way obviously).
I have had a scan at 6+3 before which showed just a sac with a heartbeat and this time had one at 6+6 with little tadpole and heartbeat so fingers crossed for you!
Hi Daisy! Hows it all going?

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 06/08/2007 15:32

CONGRATULATIONS FIRSTY! and as everyone said at the size of him!

Hope you are both doing well!! xx

becklespeckle · 06/08/2007 17:23

I just had some more greeny snotty gunk (sorry TMI ), has anyone else had this at all??? Too late to ring MW this evening, plus have to go to work. Last week they said possible infection but the results of the tests I did came back clear. Bit worried TBH.

fettleandminifettle · 06/08/2007 19:01

Hello all

Congratulations again to Firsty - so pleased everything is ok - was getting so worried about you.

But OINKER!!!!! So pleased to see you here!!! You kept me together so much last summer (I don't know if you remember!!). I'm so pleased you've managed to join us. Keeping everything possible crossed that this time works for you - great news that you are with probably the best expert in the UK on recurrent mc - hope all comes through for you!

How much weight did you lose in the end? If you don't mind me asking! Your determination was so amazing, but i've missed you and like UKI, been thinking of you often.

Hi to everyone else - hope all well with you.

take care
xxx

fettleandminifettle · 06/08/2007 19:02

sorry beckle - can't help with greeny snot - could be an infection - how are you feeling within yourself? I would double-check with MW as soon as you can.

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/08/2007 19:06

beckle, I don't want to worry you, but there was much talk of green snot when everyone on my AN thread were losing their mucous plugs prior to labour. But please bear in mind that as I was induced with No1 and had an elective with No2, I have no personal experience of green snot and there are other possible explanations.

Can you phone the hospital...you should have a number in your notes. They may want you in to examine you.

I hope all is well.

daisyandbabybootoo · 06/08/2007 19:15

sorry beckle, I ignored your earlier hello and have probably now scared the living daylights out of you

we're doing great here. DD is 9 weeks old tomorrow, it's gone so so quickly!

MerlinsBeard · 06/08/2007 19:22

firsty and Glad you are ok, was getting worried even though i don't "know" you!

bluebell82 · 06/08/2007 19:33

Sorry to jump in guys but I ad to share the nightmare of a week I have just had!
Firstly flew to Venice last Sunday and got killer nose bleeds on the plane.nice.. had to go through customs looking like I had been involved in a blood bath.. secondly had to then be taken by water ambulance in venice on wednesday because I had bleeding elsewhere all ok nowe had ver done it going up and down all those bridge.. I had to rest for the rest of the holiday and flew back yesterday and have now been signed off by the doctor.. and breathe!
Hope you are all OK xxx

MerlinsBeard · 06/08/2007 21:07

bluebell...that sounds horrible! Are you ok now?

My current fear is ectopic. I keep having niggly pains on both sides but more often on the left. I wish this early stage would end

MerlinsBeard · 06/08/2007 21:16

sorry. realised how incredibly insensitive i sounded.

I'm just struggling withthe worry and the not knowing dates doesn't help. I have a 'pot belly' already and i should be enjoying it but i can;trelax

Woooozle100 · 06/08/2007 21:37
