Welcome cefer! rainbowdays I'm so glad your tests are definitely positive at last. I'm going to see if I can get a 6 week scan next week for no reason other than fear! Surely it's in our babies' interests if we are reassured and less stressed by seeing that they exist and are OK? I have an 8 week one booked but am going to ask if they can bring it forward because I'm torturing myself with feeling completely un-pregnant! Lots of energy, soft boobs, ordinary appetite, not needing to wee a lot - NOTHING that suggests pregnancy. It's so weird to wake up feeling energetic and well and for that to be a cause for anxiety and misery.

Sorry haven't been around much to read the messages. Hello and happy summer at last to everyone! (assuming we're all in the UK but maybe not?)

hotchoc · 05/08/2007 18:41

hi everyone, just bopping in to say hello, i've been away again, in France this time. got my 22 week scan tomorrow, does anyone know what the soft indicators for DS are?

thanks and hope you are doing ok, have not dared to try and catch up yet!!! looks like you have all been very chatty.

mrs mcjnr and Edinburgh locals, have you been to that lovely new maternity shop in william st, worth a look but pricey!

Hello ladies, don?t normally get on at the weekend but DH is watching boy stuff

Jules ? I think it?s lovely that you are being able to really show your emotions for this LO I don?t know whether it?s good or bad but I haven?t cried about our lost angel or about the fact that I am pg again since I got my BFP. As the EDD for our lost baby drawers nearer, I am getting worried about how upset we?ll be. Thanks for the compliments

Ejb ? thanks for the link. Can understand why you wrote that on your profile Lovely that you think your LO will be a boy

Hi Uki hope all is well with you sorry that yesterday was a bad day, totally understand x

Beckle hello! Not long until that scan!

Mumpbump getting bit worried about Firsty now hope all is ok. How?s the wrist?

Muddyboots I think we all made the bargain but lived to regret it!

My1stbaby ? fabulous hon! So pleased for you! How are things now? Has the bleeding stopped? Happy birthday for tomorrow have a great day.

Hey Winky, Karma, Jossie

Mumomonsters ? 17 on Tuesday hope you are feeling a bit better now hon.

Bouncingturtle ?smile] will let you off this time!

Rainbowdays ? glad things are getting clearer. Sounds like you and DH have a lot on your plate, take it easy now x

Feedmenow ? hope you got through the weekend ok hon xx

Welcome to MN and to the thread Cefer so sorry to hear of your recent, sad history must have been awful. Congratulations on your pregnancy I hope you are getting to grips with the Clexane. I really hope that it makes all the difference for you this time I am nearly 17 weeks and have been injecting Clexane since 6 weeks, so far so good I lost my last LO at 10 weeks in March and then I was diagnosed with having a clotting problem hence the Clexane for me. I take aspirin too but nothing else. Keep talking hon , it does help!

Got to go DH shouting, speak tomorrow!

Haylstones · 05/08/2007 21:07

Evening all, thought I'd say a quick hello. Had a busy weekend and just off to bed to read for a while (dh still outside doing diy- cannot get him to come in!) Got my 12 week scan tomorrow (although am only 11 weeks) and am really nervous. Had a scan 9 days ago and everything was OK then but I keep thinking that anything could have happened since then . I'm almost expecting bad news tbh.
Hope everyone else is OK and glad to hear all the happy news that's going on just now.

Jossiejump · 05/08/2007 21:48

Hi Hotchoc-they look for thigh length, tummy circumference, heart defects, my private scan looked at nasal bone length, basically most of the things that the graph charts that would have been left empty on your first scan sheet (If yours is the same as mine)
Hope it goes well, let us know how you get on, I know exactly how you're feeling!

oinker · 06/08/2007 07:42

Hi all...

I got a BFp yesterday at 24 days...

Still a little shocked. First attempt since last m/c last year. Have been busy shedding stones of weight in preparation for this.

I have had five m/c's no live births.
havve had all sorts of tests and used heparin/clexane/progesterone/baby aspirin and nothing has worked.
I am currently beiing treated by Prof Reagan. She has suggested STEROIDS with this pregnancy. I have not yet contacted her, will do later this morning and tell them I am pregnant.

Has anyone got any idea about STEROIDS in pregnancy? Is it injection form or tablet?

Has anyone triedd or is anyone testing it now?

)))))))))))HUGS((((((((((((

And well done to all of us

Feedmenow · 06/08/2007 08:06

Hi oinker, good to have you here. Let's hope that this time for you is the right time. Sorry to hear that you have suffered so much As soon as 9 o'clock comes, get on the phone and get the ball rolling!

Still nothing from Firsty?!?!

Uki · 06/08/2007 08:28

OINKER yay yay yay!!!!

I'm soooo happy to hear of your BFP I often think of you and wished you were here with us.

Fingers and toes triple crossed for you.
I found an article a while ago about a woman that had 10 or 12 m/c's and then was treated with simple cheap steriods and it worked. The article is no longer on the web page i had though, it did sound promising though.

Will you have asprin or anything as well?
Did you finally have enough cabbage soup?

Am I the only one now getting slightly worried about Firstar, it feels like her hospital stay should have been up by now? 5 days is normaly the max here.

VictorVictoria · 06/08/2007 08:37

Oinker - great news. You may remember we spoke on an earlier thread re Prof Regan (I am also under her, 14+3).

I have a friedn who0 took steriods after repeated miscarriages. Worked for her

my1stbaby · 06/08/2007 08:41

Oinker: congratulations!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your m/cs. I hope this one sticks. My sister-in-law had 6 m/cs before having my gorgoeus nephew who is 1.5 yrs old. She was put on steroid injection throughout her pg. So I think there's every chance that this baby will be ok . I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Hello to everyone else too. Had quite a relaxing w/end at the sea. Still bleeding slightly but have a strong feeling that I'm seeing the tail end of it. Feeling slightly less anxious and started to allow myself to dream and get a bit excited. x

my1stbaby · 06/08/2007 08:45

oh by the way, feedmenow: my scan was abdominal, not trans-vaginal lol! Hmm, don't think I could cope with MIL being there otherwise .

Cefer, oinker ? welcome ? and here?s hoping for a dull and uneventful pg for you both!

Good luck to hotchoc and haylstones for scans today ? thinking about you both [fingers crossed emoticon]

Uki ? I?m getting a little bit antsy about Firsty too ? this why we need text / email buddies! If you need an email buddy ? my address is: eirian dot thomas at gmail dot com ? how are you feeling today otherwise uki ? you were down the other day ? anniversaries of loss are always difficult ? I?ve found it helps to think of them as milestones ? once you?ve done them the first time, then the subsequent anniversaries are not so difficult. Big gentle hugs to you.

Hi to everybody else [waving madly emoticon] ? ds and I have been swimming this morning ? he had a swimming lesson, while I bobbed about and did my hydro exercises ? I?m about to go and have a shower, as the showers at the pool are open, and though I?m not to bad looking at my hippo-like body, showing it off in a communal shower is different!

Have a good day all!

Okay - quick post to firststar first and will be back later to read through the thread properly!

MANY, MANY CONGRATULATIONS

Sounds like it was bluddi hard work!! Full of respect for you! Ds was only 8 hours and that was enough... 11lb 5oz! Blimey! Still, there are some advantages in having a big baby, eg. they are meant to be able to hold more in their tummies so sleep through earlier - of course, no-one tells them that this is what they're meant to do, but hope your ds is obliging!!

I hope that you are recoving okay from the C-section - I guess you can get lots of tips from Daisy on how to speed up recovery. Very pleased that your dsd's are taking to ds - I remember both dh and I worrying about how my dsc would manage. And very glad to hear that you are back in the comfort of your own home!

Best of luck and can't wait to hear the name and (maybe) see a piccie??

Well done!

becklespeckle · 06/08/2007 11:54

I agree ejt that text buddies are an excellent idea, I guess if we have to stay in for a few days we can get someone else to text the vitals! I am happy to be a txt buddy for anyone, think Hayls is getting some email addresses together for mailing numbers and pictures securely.
Feedmenow, hope the weekend was not to harsh on you with your due date, it is always a difficult day whatever your current circumstances.
Hi Cefer, welcome to the thread, it is great that you are feeling more positive and getting lots of treatment - fingers crossed hun!
Siameez, try not to worry about your lack of symptoms, not everyone (or even every pg) gets them. I was 10 weeks pg with DS2 before I even suspected! It was only when I had been nauseous for a week that I tested, that was the only symptom I had. This time I got big, sore boobs straight away and nausea from 5 1/2 weeks.
HotChoc, welcome back! Was wondering how you were, glad you had a good hols! Good luck with your scan today too.
MrsMc, it is hard as you approach what would have been your due date. I was not lucky enough to be pg on either of my known due dates and just felt sad and empty on those days, with the 3rd mc I did not know my due date but I suspect May/June, don't know if that one was easier because I didn't know the date or becuase I was pg though. For me I just made sure I had nothing planned on those days so I could just feel and be how I pleased.
Hayls, good luck for your scan today, everything crossed for good news. I think it is natural to expect bad news after you have suffered mc but I am sure you will be fine hun.
Oinker, welcome to the thread, sorry to hear of your past losses , what a lot to go through. Hopefully the steroids will do the trick for you this time hun, let us know how you get on.
My1st, glad you are feeling less anxious now hun and the bleeding is tailing off. Lets hope the rest of your pg is nice and smooth to compensate for the rocky start!

ejt1764 · 06/08/2007 11:56

BIG CONGRATULATIONS to FIRSTAR
I was wondering if he was going to be a boy, as they do seem to like to be a little late
Sounds like c/s was the way to go being such a big boy. Would love to hear/see more of him when you are up to it.

In the mean time take it easy and look after yourself.

Etj- and others, i would love to do text buddies, but really can't text at all and being international and all not sure how it works, I have given dh strict instructions to post on here as soon as he can I'll send you an email too if you like

Thank you all I am feeling much happier today, it helps when others know how you feel

I'm especially happy since oinker and firstar's goood news
