Thought I'd start this in honour of Purple's effort so far, hope you don't mind Purple I liked this title best.

Welcome to our shiny new thread

Just quickly checking back in to say hang in there, everyone who's waiting desperately for 8 wk scans. It feels like the longest time in the world. And you can't even have a bloody drink....
EJB, hope your scan shows good placenta function! My next one will hopefully show good placenta movement ie away from my cervix. Those stats are brilliant too; 24 weeks yesterday and the small person is tumbling away as I write.
Where oh where is firststar???? (and Uki, the baby has dropped, how excited are you?)
love to all

Text buddies is a fab idea. My subscription to CAT has expired but I have an email address I use for spam purposes that i can use- haytho at hotmail dot com. I can then forward my 'real' address to anyone!
I feel a bit rubbishy today, headachey and tired and going to have to go to work in a bit (with dd, aargh, that is so much fun). I haevn't been in for almost 2 weeks due to flooding then lck of water so I think it'll be a slight shock to the system to go back! Never mind, I only have to work next week then we close for 3 weeks

Haylstones · 02/08/2007 11:37

Sorry, got that wrong, it's .co.uk not com!

AnguaVonUberwald · 02/08/2007 11:53

Haven't been on for a while as have spent the whole time asleep or trying to throw up, however am now feeling a lot better - much less sleepy (i.e. like a human being again) and considerably less sick (although the peppermint tea might be helping with that)

Please re-assure me. Does my symptoms getting less mean that I have had a MMC?

I am 6+4

please advise

Haylstones · 02/08/2007 11:55

Angua, as far as I'm concerned symptoms come and go. SOme days I have had lots of nausea and tiredness and others I've felt Ok. It seems to vary a lot although I'm not sure why. If you're really worried or have any other symptoms liek bleeding ask your GP or EPU and I'm sure they'll help. Don't stress!

Glimmer · 02/08/2007 12:03

Angua, I feel for you. I had the same worries and symptoms came normally back with vengenance just after I had gotten myself into a right state. Welcome to the paranoia-thread :-)
But -- please come and share: it's the only thuing that helps a little!

MrsMcJnr · 02/08/2007 12:04

Glimmer ? I remember Uki?s BFP too don?t all go once you have your babies, we need you! I?ve used the CAT function quite a lot for various reasons

Beckle ? MW told me the pulsing was just arteries and that I wouldn?t feel anything until 20 weeks. I think this was her was of trying not to worry me but it just annoyed me instead sorry to hear you are being teased by DH!

Hey Mumpbump sorry to hear about the anaemia, have you tried Floradix?

Greedy hello hon.

Ejt ? I?m both types of paranoid pg too!

Spugs ? we?ll keep you going until 22/8! Be warned, my MS didn?t kick in until 9 weeks!

Hey Fettle

Mumofmonsters ? don?t worry hon, they?ll have to scan you soon if you have no idea of dates either

Winkygirl ? hang in there hon.

Karma 6 weeks

Hello Uki

Hey Jules great news! Liking the PMA!

Hello Haylstones all the very best for Monday! Sorry to hear about the slapped cheek worries

Hang in there Rainbowdays, we are all rooting for you

Ejb ? how did the 4d go?

Hello Fingerbobs

Angua ? symptoms come and go hon, try not to worry

I plan to go on mat leave 20 weeks tomorrow ? can?t wait!

VictorVictoria · 02/08/2007 12:05

Angua

I had extremely volatile symptoms from 6-8.5 weeks, then felf ghastly from then till about 12.5 weeks. soem days I really felt fine. And was hysterical (see thread passim).

am now 14 weeks after a very good nuchal scan at 12 weeks (although still hysterical I am afraid)

HTH

AnguaVonUberwald · 02/08/2007 12:09

Haylestone

No bleeding and only very, very light cramping (which I understand is normal)

With the tiredness though, I was exhausted from pretty much the day after the BFP, slept constantly, even being sent home from work early as I was so tired, and now I have gradually got less and less tired. (actually did some housework last night) so worried that the lessening of symptoms is a bad sign.

Had a MMC last time that started going wrong at 6 weeks and finished at 8 - so a bit stressed about it all anyway!

AnguaVonUberwald · 02/08/2007 12:11

Thanks Victorvictoria, and Glimmer, will try and hold on to that.

Just desperatly hoping the littleone holds on after last time.

And you are right, at least I can post on here, and people get how paranoid you become.

DH, who is lovely about it all, just advises not stressing about it, which isn't exactly easy.

BecklePhoenixBird · 02/08/2007 12:56

Hi all!
Angua, symptoms fluctuating are normal, I would be more worried (from my past experience) if they were constant. My tiredness disappeared at about 8 weeks but is back now (19 weeks today!) and the nausea fluctuated all the time. I think there was a gap where I felt fine at around 7 weeks and another at 10 weeks, both times I was convinced it was over and yet here I still am (touch wood). If you are worried then tell a fib about bleeding to get a scan (my sonographer BIL told me that) although I would wait another week if you can as you are more likely to see more. In the mean time, keep posting - its what we're here for x
MrsMc, your MW could have just said maybe it was baby instead of telling you bluntly it wasn't! As for 20 weeks until movements, I felt DS1 kick me at 16 weeks, no wiggles or butterflies beforehand, straight to kicking. I felt this LO wiggling for definite from 13 weeks and I think I did feel it before that as it was right behind my pubic bone and too low for wind. MW told me I was talking rubbish but the feeling is the same now baby is higher. Don't worry if you don't feel it often though, I didn't feel baby every day until a couple of weeks ago, there is lots of room for it to scoot around in! Glad you heard HB and kicks though!
Ooh, Uki, makes it feel more imminent when baby drops! Won't be long hun!
Ejt, sorry to hear you are in pain hun. I'm intrigued, what did DH use the puff pastry for???
Rainbowdays, how are you doing today?
Ejb, how was your scan?
Hi to everyone else!
I think text buddies are a great idea! I do not have CAT though I am happy for any of you ladies to have my email address - would be nice to share photos without having to post them on our profiles! Perhaps any of us happy to join in could send our email to Hayles' 'other' address and she could compile a list to send to everyone else? If not I would be happy to set up another account or subscribe to CAT and do it.

my1stbaby · 02/08/2007 13:23

Hi ladies, haven't been posting on this thread much but been keeping a tab on everybody's progress. Glad to read that all is well with everyone.

I'm not having such a good day I'm afraid. Bleeding slightly heavier than last week. Telling myself not to panic but of course completely out of my mind worrying. Can't get a scan at the local EPAU so will have to go private again. Have app. tomorrow at 4pm. Taken day off work tomorrow and just have to sit tight till scan and hope for the best.

karma · 02/08/2007 13:23

Angua,
Keeping everything crossed for you, I'm sure it is all fine and normal but know exactly how you must be feeling. As others have said I think symptoms come and go. I don't have any sickness or nausea (I'm 6+2 weeks) and didn't with either of my 2 successful pregnancies. Yes I have some tiredness and bigger boobs but otherwise not much else. I guess we are all different, so try not to stress too much (advice here coming from the worlds's worst worrier!!!) Take care.
Hi to everyone else. Hope things are going well with everyone.

karma · 02/08/2007 13:27

my1stbaby,
Sorry, was typing previous message whilst yours had obviously just gone on.
Don't know what to say, you must be so worried. Will be thinking of you, and keeping everything crossed for the scan. I'm sure others may be able to offer support who may have experience of this.

Glimmer · 02/08/2007 13:45

Hi My1st. Am so sorry to hear about your distress which is completely understandable. You are doing the right thing: the scan will tell you if there is a reason to worry or not.
I know how eternally long 24h can be. Just try to get distratced until tomorrow afternoon.
In case it helps -- I had a lot of bleeding and
it was bright red and a considerable amount. It also lasted for several weeks. So there is a good chance that it is one-of-these-things and everything is well.

my1stbaby · 02/08/2007 13:57

Thanks Karma and Glimmer. I hope it won't be bad news tomorrow. Am trying very hard to keep calm. x

Haylstones · 02/08/2007 14:46

I sincerely hope all goes well fo ryou tomorrow my1st.
I'm happy to collate addresses if everybody wants to email me on haytho at hotmail dot co dot uk (just don't include any information you don't want passed on!)

WinkyGirl · 02/08/2007 15:06

Haylstones I have emailed you!

Angua My symptoms (am 7.2 weeks) dipped earlier this week and I was panicking too. Luckily they are back now. My DH also gives such "helpful" advice like "just relax" Rah!

MrsMc what did the midwife do to get you ??? Glad you heard the heart beat...

Hello everyone else. Must go and stop DD completely destroying the house...

fettleandminifettle · 02/08/2007 15:21

hey girls - finally given in and taken a sickie today as I was just so utterly shattered and felt awful this morning. spent the day either resting on the sofa or fast asleep in bed - its been great!! Luckily my mum is staying so she's been an angel looking after me, but more importantly entertaining DD - they are out shoppping for supper at the mo.

my1stbaby - big hugs to you. I really know how worried you must be. Try as the others have said to distract yourself in any way you can until your scan tomorrow - i'm shocked they won't give you an early scan at the EPU for bleeding. Obviously you won't know anything until tomorrow, but I had lots of bright red bleeding with DD at around 6-7 weeks, but only a tiny amount of brown spotting which signalled by mmc at 9 weeks with my 1st mc. Look after yourself and remember we are here for you

Angua - symptoms do come and go. i really worried early on in this pg as I just didn't feel very sick at times, but believe me, it kicked in a few days later! If you are really worried, ring your GP to discuss it - as worry is really the worse thing you can do, but we just can't help it.

Rainbowy - how you doing sweetheart? Still hanging on to you.

ejb - hope the 4D scan was good and you saw a good placental function. I have a growth scan in 3 weeks as i'm measuring a bit small - so hopefully my placental function is all doing well.

hey MrsMc

glimmer - so pleased to be hearing you sound so positive. you so deserve it!

Sending big positive vibes to firsty - do so hope everything is going ok.

Uki - you next!! Great news that baby's dropped - how exciting!

Ejt - sound like you did loads yesterday - I can barely move the day after going for a short shop!

4 weeks left til my mat leave and i can't wait - just hope my energy levels last that long!

take care all and big hugs to all
xxx

becklespeckle · 02/08/2007 16:06

I've emailed too Haylstones. My1st, what an awful time you are having, hang on in there hun, bleeding does not always mean the worst, in some people it is quite common - I had a lot when I was having DS1 - very heavy too. Can't believe EPAU won't scan you, I am truly shocked. Will be thinking of you tomorrow xxx

MrsMcJnr · 02/08/2007 16:35

Thanks Beckle do these MW not realise that those going through a pg after a MC are literally living inside the uterus with the baby too?!! funny how a can of fat boy coke has just made my ?arteries? pulsate!

My1stbaby ? sorry to hear that everything crossed for tomorrow. Take heart from Greedy?s story (she summarised it below ? she had so much bleeding for weeks and weeks and all is fine )

Winkygirl ? well?. (you did ask!) firstly, she didn?t bother to tell my why there was a woman in the room listening in intently. It made me intensely uncomfortable and as she had clearly given blood, I thought it was another patient, it was in fact a student, which was fine but she should have told me at the outset. Then I asked her about Strep B and she told me off for reading too much. Then when DH asked her how to keep me calm because my blood pressure is high she told him (in front of me, like I was a 5 year old) not to let me go on the internet, not to let me read anything other than what she gave me and to for goodness sake enjoy the pregnancy and to stop worrying about ?everything? ? I was VERY ! ?.and exhale!!

Fettle ? hope you are still enjoying your duvet day!

I?ll email you from home Haylstones

siameez · 02/08/2007 16:36

Hi everyone. Haven't been online for about a week for usual family/summer holiday type reasons but thinking of you all especially myfirstbaby. Keeping fingers crossed!

I'm quite relieved to get back here and read about everyone else's neuroses about symptoms coming and going. I'm 5 weeks now and have only had mild twinges. My boobs are a bit bigger but not tender and basically I still don't feel pregnant at all. My totally-unsensitive cheapie pg test screamed PREGNANT at me when I took another one yesterday so at least I know there are more pg hormones there than there were last week when it was very faint.

It still feels completely unreal and I honestly think I'd rather be repeatedly vomiting!

If this really is a pregnancy I'm due on April 1st and would be really grateful if someone could add me to the list or let me know how to add myself.

Good luck everyone and sorry I haven't had time to read back all the messages.

Glimmer · 02/08/2007 16:51

FETTLE. We realise that you must be very busy, because you are around much less. Enjoy your day off, it sounds you really needed it!

MrsMcJ - Shall we all come up north and corner your MW? Just imagine her in our crowd and everybody tells her off (first) and then we try and explain it to her, so that she is more understanding in the future (second). I think info helps to keep us in control and thus BP down!

What did you mean with "I plan to go on mat leave 20 weeks tomorrow ? can?t wait!" Are you going on mat leave tomorrow? confused and

MrsMcJnr · 02/08/2007 17:01

Hey Siameez ? glad you are doing well

Glimmer you?ve just broken my dream! I dreamt last night that you all came to my house for a party!! what fun that would be!! I agree knowledge is power, in her view, patients with knowledge are a pain in the ?.! Sorry for the confusion, I plan to go on mat leave on 21/12 that?s 20 weeks tomorrow no need to be it?s almost half a year yet!!!

pinkrangerstartstowaddle · 02/08/2007 17:04
