glimmer - im definitly a scan freak after the initial knicker checking mental initial stage

got my booking in appointment through its not till the 22nd august which feels like forever away. (ill be 10 weeks) gives me something to look forward to though

fettleandminifettle · 31/07/2007 19:18

Evening all

[no news from Firsty?!!!]

I'm with you ejt - i'm a knicker checker (2nd mc) and a scan freak (1st mmc) and frantic movement watcher!!! I was told lucozade when pg with DD, if I was even concerned! not resorted to that yet!

I think my little one flipped aroudn 30 weeks, but I wouldn't put it past him to have flipped back the other way already!

Wouldn't worry about your bump size VV, I'm definitely not as big with this my 2nd (technically 4th pg), even now at 31 weeks - each time is different!

Hope everyone is managing to enjoy all this lovely weather we've finally been having.

Right must go cook supper.

big hugs to all
xxx

MerlinsBeard · 31/07/2007 19:30

i don't think i will get my early scan Finallyw ent to DR so they can sprt out MW and he said if i make an appt with them this week they will refer for a scan. They don't see anyone any ealrier than 8/9/10 weeks and i am about 6 weeks.

I really want to know my date as well, i don't know how far gone i am. I have had irregular cycles since the m/c so not got a clue!

I need a fast forward button Nausea is fading in and out now so of course i am worried about that as well.

AAARRRGGGHHHHH

spugs · 31/07/2007 19:37

deep breathes mum of monsters we can be stuck in no early scan hell together cos unless i lie i wont be getting one either and my ms (its so pathetically minor i dont even think it can be reffered to as ms ) comes and goes to, i seem to feel worse (in the very lose sense of the term) in the evening. was much worse with dd2 then now but hey ho if i was puking my guts up id prob be whinging away like mad.

WinkyGirl · 31/07/2007 19:48

I think I am just paranoid. I compulsively knicker check and am terrified/excited about my early scan (less than two weeks to go!) But my baby died between 7-8 weeks and the first I knew was bleeding at 9.5 weeks.

I have felt really worried the last 24 hours because I havent had symptoms. But I think the indigestion is back tonight.

Ugh. Roll on early scan, late scan and feeling the baby move...

Love to all

karma · 31/07/2007 21:24

Hi All,
Still finding it really difficult to keep up with everything on this thread - how do you all do it?

I'm six weeks today and willing the weeks to speed up. Saw Gp last week and requested an early scan but don't know when that will be. Still haven't decided whether to have an early private scan - part of me really wants to to know that at the moment all is well, but part of me enjoys being blissfully ignorant IYKWIM.

Still frantically knicker watching, dreading each trip to the loo.

To reassure others, in my previous two successful pregnancies I didn't have any ms, and only very slight nausea, and so far in this one I haven't (don't know whether that's a good sign or not). Other than larger than normal boobs and increased tiredness I don't seem to have much in the way of symptoms. I guess everyone is different, and it is hard not to worry when we've all been through misc.

Anyway, talking of tiredness, must go to bed.
Just wanted to ask a favour - please could someone add me to that long list (karma 6wks) as I'm sure there is an easy way of doing it without having to type everyone's details out but I don't know how (I'm so not good with computers) . Thanks.

Just adding you karma, do you want to put due date then i can put you in order

I'm not great a computers either but if you want to have a go, highlight the text you want to copy, then click right mouse button and click copy and then go down to message window click in it and then right click again and click "paste"

OR highlight text then click Control and the "c" key together then drag to message window and then click on it and then click Control key and the "v" key together. I think this way works better on mac's and is also what i use for moving photos. You will not look back if you can master this actually it's the 'command' key for macs-i asked dh

Glimmer-and Beckle, "i think there is a 'success after m/c thread" otherwise we will make one. i agree with you i can't keep up with my ante- natal thread and coz i don't post enough i get a little left out. I'm always here.

glimmer - i know the TTC after m/c thread and BFP really doesn't seem that long ago, I can almost see myself with a one year old next year TTC again, it feeel so quick

Hopefully your LO will turn soon, i think less sitting and more standing/walking help and also being in the all fours position each day help. My LO loves right side and bottom under ribs, never left.

Hope firsty had a good labour and birth

Just quickly, Mumofmonsters, tell your m/w that you don't know how far along you are as your cycles are irregular and they should refer you for a dating scan. In my area, that takes place around 8 weeks so it might help you get something sooner.

Will be back later to post properly, but notice that all is quiet from Firststar Poor lady, to be the focus of so much attention!!!

Haylstones · 01/08/2007 11:44

Hello all, glad to hear all the good and positive stories. I'm now 10+3 and can't believe I've made it this far. Got my dating scan on MOnday so am still not accepting it until then!
Got results from blood test for slapped cheek disease and I'm NOT immune...aargh. GP was confident I'd have had it in the past and have natural immunity but apparently not so I have to have another test in a couple of weeks to see if the results change; if not it means that dd didn't catch it or if she did didn't pass it on to me. If I have caught it I'm not sure what happens tbh but I know it's most dangerous in ealry pg -can cause mc-so hopefully I'd know by now. DD hasn't been in nursery for a bit (only twice since outbreak and that was over a week after it was reported) due to floods, no water and MIL visiting so hopefully she avoided it.
Hopefully we'll have some cuddly newborns on here soon

any news from first star?

karma · 01/08/2007 13:09

Thanks Uki for adding me on the list.
I think my due date is 25th March but can't really remember what the doctor said, ddoooohhhh!! I think I was so nervous sitting in the surgery pregnant again my brain went to mush. Can't really think about a due date at the moment anyway as I'm only six weeks, and there is so much ahead of me.

Rainbowdays · 01/08/2007 13:28

Spugs - thank you for adding me back on the list, I am not sure whether I will be staying, as I am still only getting faint positives, and have absolutely no symptoms except for af-type cramps going on. Convinced that all is going wrong again, just trying to keep holding on to some vague hope.

Mumpbump · 01/08/2007 13:38

Rainbow - I have read quite a few posts from people on here who experience af-type cramping at around the time their period would be due without having a m/c. I don't think it's unusual and you get so many aches and twinges in pg anyway. It's just you become so much more aware of them once you've had a m/c...

Woooozle100 · 01/08/2007 15:06

rainbow - ditto jules and mumpbump.. faint positive still means positive. Congratulations!

Uki - know what you mean about keeping up with AN thread - am worse with that than this one. Boo - really can't pss about here at work anymore cos desk has moved to opposite chief execs office. Oh and I'm far too busy and consiencious of course! Roll on sep 18th when maternity leave kicks in...

All good with me - had a birrova panic last night cos woke up with horrendous stomach, back and leg cramps. Prowled round the house and fretted about early labour, took some gaviscon then let rip some serious wind. Instantly felt much better Eeek didn't know trapped wind could be quite so painful (tho had watched Last King of Scotland t'other week and there is funny scene in that re subject)

Glimmer - know exactly what you mean about getting to 24 weeks - even the morbid scenario bought me some comfort cos at least peanut would be recognised as a proper person. I wanted dh and me to go for a meal to celebrate! Got to 28 last week, meaning I can revel in my 80% survival statistic.. 30 weeks and it gets to 95% (part of my job is to publish these figures for a maternity hospital - talk about fuelling an obsession!)

Firststar - tho imagined yr prob sick of people asking/ commenting etc - wishing you all the best

Ooh am off for 4d scan in a bit - will share how it goes. Am excited but scared at the same time - my mate was a bit staggered when I was going on to her about how the doppler assesment there should provide a much more acurate analysis of placenta funtion. She reckons I'm the only one she's come across going for one of these that isn't obsessing about seeing baby's face!

Anyway long enough post off me so will sign off now! Lots of love to all x

BecklePhoenixBird · 01/08/2007 15:09

Rainbow, please try and hold on to that bit of hope! I had strong AF cramps and bleeding at 5 weeks with this pg, the cramps lasted for 4-5 days and I was convinced it was all over but I am still here at 18+6. MW said it was caused by baby burrowing deeper into my uterus, I really liked that thought. A friend of mine had exactly the same with both her pgs and her MW gave her the same reason as mine did. Give the tests a few more days to get darker too, mine didn't change for the first week then I left it a few days and it was much darker. I've got everything crossed for you hun.
Just thought I would update myself on the list!

and good luck with your scan today Ejb! Hope you get a good view and decent assessment of placenta function !

Glimmer · 01/08/2007 16:03

Hi EJB -- Hope you enjoy the scan and am sure you will get only reassurance. I didn't know these stats but I think that's a great new milestone for me: 28 weeks :-)

Rainbowdays -- I agree with the others: many experience AF-type pains and it's really not a reason why things should be going wrong. Having said so, I would think just as you in the same situation.

Oh, I like the list, and how it's getting longer and how we make it up the list as time passes (slowly or fast depending on where we are)...

I noticed some of the antenatal threads have text-buddies. Uki are you interested in having one or do you prefer not to? In any case, I signed up to the CAT-feature, so anybody can can easily contact me. (Basically MN forwards a request and then you can exchange email addresses safely offline.)

ejt1764 · 01/08/2007 16:38

Glimmer - I think the idea of text buddies is an excellent one ... I really must sign up to CAT - is it worth it?

ejb - I wasn't aware of the 95% stat at 30 weeks ... - I thought it was much lower - thank you for making my day!

For everybody having early pg traumas, keep on telling us about them - every single one of us has been through the early pg dilemmas and traumas that you are going through ... I saw the immaculate conception thread today - and just felt - then felt incredibly guilty for feeling like that!

Am in a lot of pain today - I went to yoga last night and it was quite a strong session - I then had hydro this morning, and that has completely wiped me out - I came back and took some of my pain medication, and have been like a total zombie all afternoon - poor ds has had to entertain himself for the most part!

Right, going to think about tea now ... for some reason, dh has got some puff pastry out of the freezer - and I can't for the life of me work out what he wants me to do with it! Perhaps he's going to do a bit of cooking!

Glimmer · 01/08/2007 17:54

Well, I signed up to CAT, because there is a lady in mc section that had similar symptoms to mine after the incomplete ERPC and I wanted to give her some info on diagnostics and good doctors, that I didn't want to put online. It costs £5, but MN has been so helpful to me that I was very happy to my a contribution. It really depends on the situation, but I wouldn't b comfortable putting my phone neumber or email on a public domain, although I would happily give them to all of you individually.

Uki · 02/08/2007 10:55

Morning

ejb- only one month and a bit till maternity leave, fantastic, you'll be on here every moment then

Glimmer- I'd love to have a text buddy, but i'm an international mobile and a hopeless texter so maybe not that practical, I'm better at email? My main email address is my full name BUT you can email me on this old one, selena at(use symbol) doctort.org just tell me when your going to as there is probably 1 million spam on there to sift through. Do i have to be a CAT member to post pictures? as I'm not one but will email anyone who emails me with pics of our new arrivals.
You would of liked the house i saw, it was swiss chalet style, really beautiful outside but so dark and small inside. Could have worked on that part but just finish so much renovating here, i am over that for the moment.

went to Dr. today and he said baby had dropped BP is holding out too, but he put me on antibiotics for my cough that has hung around for three weeks.

PART 2

Firstar- I wish you or dh, would come and give us some birth details, the suspense is killing me

Ejb- hope the 4d scan went well, how exciting!!!

Rainbow - i got AF cramps too, i think it means embroy is implanting and uterus is growing, So can be a good sign.

Karma - Your DD will be here before you know it. My dh though it was hilarious that i was giving computer tips

Hey ladies sorry it's been a while, been busy. How are we all? I had a MW appointment yesterday, apart from her being a complete bitch we hear Beanie's heartbeat and heard some kicks too

Will now try to catch up!
