Basil ? oh Hon I am so, so sorry. How awful for you the way it has all gone. My heart is breaking for you Take care and be kind to yourself x

MrsMcJnr · 23/07/2007 15:15

?catching up

Hey Beckle ? I agree, it makes such a difference when the sonographer tells you immediately that all is ok. First thing she said to me at my dating scan on Friday was that there was a nice strong heartbeat, really puts you at ease sounded like you had fun positioning your LO at the MW appointment . At my scan, my beanie was doing a head stand wriggling its toes Have great hols and that?s fab about the kicking!

Hello Bluebell it is scary being tested for those things as there is always a fear that it might throw something up, I think you can rest assured that if anything untoward came up, you?d know about it ASAP ? no news is good news. Re the DVT, I am sure you know this already but I?d recommend some flight socks if your are flying, walking around lots and plenty of water just to be on the safe side

Hey Haylstones thank you! Love your code with DD!

Hello LouiseX ? you count the first day of bleeding/day of the MC as CD1. HTH Good advice from Mumpbump how are things?

Hey Ejb ? nice to have you back glad all is well! We are here to share all the worries with you know chances are we are all thinking the same things!

Hello Mumpbump good plan to extend your mat leave, I agree about Stat may pay ? and you get taxed on it!

Hey Spugs Hello Winkygirl and Daisy and Bouncingturtle and Fettle

Hello Uki oh, Andi the Accountant? I remember her too! must have had her LO! My baby book has now arrived off to buy a special pen at lunchtime Great that the scan went well hon sorry to hear about your pelvic floor Interesting about the aspirin I forget I take it sometimes!

Hi Taichimum hope the scan went well hon.

Hey Glimmer clearly Valentine?s Day was important in your house this year

Mad4girls sounds like things went well at the scan sorry to hear you are feeling blue after finding out the sex, many do apparently, guess it?s because the surprise has ended. Also, it is the man that determines the sex so if there is any blame to be had ?.. enjoy the knowledge of knowing you?ll have a son hon!

Feedmenow hello. I am sorry to hear that you are feeling low it is so hard dealing with all the conflicting emotions. I totally understand you desire to try and protect yourself, I think subconsciously I have been doing the same but every time I catch myself doing it I tell myself that it wouldn?t make any difference, nothing could prepare me for another loss and so I should try and enjoy the experience and hope that all will be ok and that there is nothing to hold back for. We are here for you hon Jossie?s right ? it is hard to imagine that you?ll actually end up with a baby at the end of it all!

YEAH JULES, YEAH fab news, many congratulations hon I am so pleased!!

Jossiejump ? must be lovely to be feeling your baby move, I can?t wait!

Hi Firsty let?s hope you won?t need that sweep ? keep bouncing!

Hi Ejt so glad the GP was helpful and that you made it to the last day of term (though sorry it hurt ) Hope you have a lovely holiday

Great news VictorVictoria

Welcome Karma and congratulations! It is so hard, especially in the beginning, you just have to take each day as it comes and talk to us lots everyone?s different but early scans definitely helped me

Pinkranger ? where have you been hon? Missed you! Can?t believe how far along you are ? hope it all goes well keep us posted!

Mum ? sending hugs, you sound low x

Welcome Griffintribe and congratulations you are in the right place, we?ll take care of you.

Hello Angua sorry to hear you are suffering, let?s hope it subsides soon. Reassuring about your appointments

griffintribe · 23/07/2007 17:04

Do you get any extra check ups with either the hospital or midwife if you have only had 1 miscarriage?

Last time i had a scan at 12 weeks and all was ok but then she died 5 days later.

Obviously my most worrying time will be from 10 until i can feel the baby move.

Feedmenow · 23/07/2007 17:28

Griffin, to my knowledge they don't treat you any different after just one m/c, or even 2! In my area (and many others I think?) you have to have 3 consecutive m/c's before they start investigating for causes. So the rest of us just have to muddle our way along hoping for the best.

I am getting an awful lot of discomfort and twinges today, as I was yesterday. Pat of me thinks it is just a continuation of the pains I was getting pre-pg anyway, or maybe even trapped wind, but part of me is resigned to the worst. Anyway, I spoke to my EPAU earlier and they have told me to go in tomorrow for a scan to check it out. I think I'll be 5+4, so no heartbeat, but I dearly hope they'll at least be able to reassure me that it is in the right place. If all goes well, I have decided that I will book a private scan fr around 9 weeks. That way, I'll be past my "marker" of my mc's pg, and will only have a few weeks to wait after that til the 12 weeks scan. And then, if all is OK, I reckon it will only be a few weeks more til I feel movement (early I know, but my uterus was clearly palpable this early on with ds, and I was already feeling him moving. Am pretty sure my ab muscles haven't improved in the slightest since then so hope that the same will happen again)

spugs · 23/07/2007 18:25

I asked my doc for an early scan after 1 mmc and he asked me why i thought i needed it! he was trying to reasure him but could have murdered him. told me to come back if i have any bleeding etc.
Feedmenow - i hope all goes fine with your scan, im thinking of having a private one at around 8/9 weeks as i dont feel like i can relax or even feel pregnant till i see its there and its fine.
my cramps have died down a lot but i do always get them and i have 2 dds very sad thing is that now i panic if i have any symptoms and panic if i dont!!! think im a bit mad but just do not feel particularly pregnant! hopefully its just as its early days (5+5ish)

WinkyGirl · 23/07/2007 19:22

Hi spugs 5.5 here too! And got my classic pregnancy indigestion for the first time last night. (And I was never so grateful to feel indigestion!) But I dont think I will get all the major symptoms until next week (judging from past experience.)

Have got my early scan on 13 August when I will be 8.5 weeks.

Hello everyone xx

spugs · 23/07/2007 20:32

bring on the major symptoms and the quicker the better, im begining to stress at the lack of them. had them at this point with dd2 though i didnt have any with dd1. the only difference that i ahve between this pg and the one i lost is more cm and slightly sore boobs its awful wanting to be sick!!

karma · 23/07/2007 20:51

Hi all,
Thankyou so much for all those kind words of support. I'm sure I'll be dipping into this thread at frequent intervals!
Sounds like you're all really close, and that must be a great help. Hopefully get to know you all over the next nine months (fingers crossed).
Still undecided about early scan, will chat to GP this week. Will pay privately for nuchal scan anyway. Can someone remind me how many weeks you need to be for this?

daisyandbabybootoo · 23/07/2007 22:23

We're getting there with a routine, but the school hols are scuppering theings and we're off on holiday next week too.

I'm sure I'll miss Firsty and Uki's birth announcements. Good luck for next week the two of you.

Hi to all the new recruits...I'm one of the recent success stories and have a bootiful seven week old (I know, where does the time go???) DD after 2 MCs.

I hope things go well for everyone. This thread was such a lifeline to me throughout.

ladylush · 23/07/2007 23:33

Hi Daisy - how is your lovely little girl? Are you up most of the night feeding or is she getting into a routine?

ladylush · 23/07/2007 23:35

Oh blimey - sorry, didn't read properly! You said you were getting there with a routine - doh!

MerlinsBeard · 24/07/2007 11:12

morning :0

new day new worry i want to get past my first milestone of 6 weeks but it feels so far away and in reality its only a few days!

Feel quite sick today but again i can't admit it that its real, i keep telling myself that its made up!

MrsMcJnr · 24/07/2007 11:17

Hey Ladies reporting from Sunny Scotland, sooo comfy in my mat work trousers!

Griffintribe ? I don?t think you normally get any extra support unless you seek it and then it depends on the carers, they might give you an early scan if you feel that might help you.

Feedmenow ? glad they are giving you a scan to give you some peace of mind, I hope it goes well. Those stepping stones that you have marked for yourself will definitely help you get through the hardest weeks

Spugs ? hope you feel more confident soon hon.

Winkygirl ? not that many sleeps until 13/8

Karma ? you can have a scan from about 6 weeks privately I think but if you can hold out, I?d wait a couple more so that you can see a heartbeat don?t be a stranger!

Daisy ? so glad all is well

Hello Ladylush ? howz you?

milfAKAmonkeymonkeymoomoo · 24/07/2007 11:24

Well I am 6+2ish and no symptoms, is this normal???

I have been doing a test every three days and the lines is still strong but it is hard to believe

Hey MrsMc I am in my maternity work trousers too They are so comfy and not noticably maternity wear! It is several weeks until I can start wearing maternity tops and sticking out my belly though...

Glimmer · 24/07/2007 11:57

Basilbrush -- I a catching up after a long weekend on the continent. I am so very very sorry to hear about your sad news. Life is so unfair. How are you holding up? Please post if you need support over the next days and weeks. Somebody mentioned you had another thread, but I haven't found it. Please stay around if you feel like it and join us with good news in the not too distant future (I know it seems likes ages at the moment...)Thinking of you and wishing you a lot of strength.

Hello. Not much time so just a quickie post.

Am so excited for Firststar - and Pinkranger and Uki. Its lovely having been on the thread a while to see these pgs turning into babies! Lots of love and wishes to you. Hope yr as comfortable as you can be!

Waves to Glimmer, Mrs Mc, ejt, Mumpbump.. glad stuff is all ticking along nicely.

Wow. Am chuffed to see so may new pepes on the thread. I think to early days are by far the hardest. I can really empathise with you - I know that any pg I have has 50/50 chance of not being viable (due to genetic stuff) and those early days were just horrendous - trying not to care / be detached but really feeling desperately anxious and confused. I think you've just got to get through it. There really isn't owt you can do, just take each day at a time, then each night wave it off gladly as another one down. Wishing you all the best.

And good luck for all the scans coming up

my1stbaby · 24/07/2007 15:32

Hello everyone. Finally plucked up courage to post on this thread . Had an early scan today and saw my little beanie's heart beating away . OMG it was such an emotional experience! Sonographer says I'm 6+4, still a mighty long way to go yet. Think I'm finally letting myself believe that I'm pg again. Still terrified though. Don't think I can ever forget the despair and pain of m/c'g my 1st baby. I never got to see that little one as m/c'd before first scan was scheduled. I'm very glad to have seen this beanie this early on . God, I hope this one sticks, pls pls... Good luck to everyone else too x

WinkyGirl · 24/07/2007 15:40

my1stbaby - yea! so happy for you!!

Firststar you are so close! Wow. I remember the days going so slowly and moving around slowly and nothing fitting! Hope your baby comes on its due date x

ejb only a few months left for you. Hope you are feeling ok?

jules good luck for tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon

Hey everyone else. Sun is shining. I have now got a 8.5 weeks scan and a 11.6 weeks scan booked. Feeling more relaxed now and hoping they are positive...
