Hi all, I am the artist fomerly known as plummymummy Just dropping in to let you know of the name change. Having a busy weekend as ds had party to go to yesterday and one today. Went out for first time since op on friday - didn't want to go out but it did me good (only to the shops!). Went out with dh last night to a bar (so weird now they're non-smoking - but brill)as ds had a sleep-over with his cousins. Congrats on those of you with bfps Will try to catch up a bit when I have time.

AnguaVonUberwald · 15/07/2007 15:35

Thank you ladies so much for your congratulations

Question for you all. I am at 4 weeks today ( I think) I have slightly strange cycles so its hard to work it out, but I am totally exhausted, been asleep for most of the day.

Is this normal?

It just worries me as I think last time my bump put out hyper hormone levels to try and stay but it didn't work, so am worried I am getting symptoms too soon this time.

Please advise

spugs · 15/07/2007 17:15

Yey more people with bfps, it seems everyones been very busy this month . I did another test this am (36hrs after the last one) and my line has not got any darker still faint but defo positive. My sister says im panicking over nothing and need to chill out but i thought it would have got more positive iykwim! I feel a bit sick and would be about 4 +5 and at this stage ive always had very positive tests with previous babies. Its defo not left over from my mc as i had loads of negs since then but now im panicing thinking eptopic etc. Someone slap me please

Have only skimmed so hope everyone is okay.
Beckle those migraines can be a killer, hope you are better now.
Scotland was fab, we went 1st class on the train up to Aviemore and stayed at the MacDonald Highland Resort, very nice! Unfortunately I have had a terrible cold, back ache which meant only was able to walk a couple of miles (we went swimming which helped a lot), but had poor nights sleep on the Friday night due to horrible coughing fit! Weather was grim, rain Friday and Saturday, though did brighten up Saturday evening so went for a walk down to main road to go eat at some Aussie Bar where I failed to finish my fabulous chargrilled burger . Am really struggling to eat, as have no appetite and feel full all the time. I also think Turtle is sat on my bladder, as I ended up getting up several times in the night for a tiny pee lol
DH has labelled me as a baby cat obsessive since the onbly things I talk about are the baby and my cat

VictorVictoria · 16/07/2007 08:52

Morning all

Congrats to those who have got BFP's and hi to everyone else

Nuchal scan at FMC on Friday when I will be 12 weeks exactly. Although had scan 2 weeks ago all was well then am still terrified it has all gone wrong between now and then. Am really not showing at all - is that normal with No 2 (I do have v good stomach muscles but even so........)

ladylush · 16/07/2007 10:35

Hello everyone. Congrats to all with bfps Victorvictoria - try not to worry too much. Your scan is not far off now. As for a bump, well mine was far too big and as it turned out this was probably something to do with the pg not progressing properly, so yours not being big is probably good. If you have good tummy muscles you probably won't get a bump for a while. Have everything crossed for you for friday xx

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 10:54

Hello Fettle you are right, the knickers checking is just as obsessive pg as it was when TTC It?s a horrible rainy day here too but at least its cool not muggy. You are right, I am lucky with my DH I also used to work where he does (we met there) so they all know me too and I think that helps.

Hello Purple don?t keep away! Come and moan, it?s all part of the pg package after all! 30 weeks wow! Glad the physio is helping, lack of sleep must make all the symptoms worse. I haven?t slept well for a few nights, I keep getting pins and needles in my arms but don?t know why plus the dreams ? god ? last night I dreamt DH was spending all our (non existent) cash on prostitutes!

Ladylush love your expression ?I am the artist formerly known as plummymummy? I do admire you for having such a great sense of humour, it must really help you. We?ve had the smoking ban up here for over a year and I LOVE it! Take good care hon and do relax x

Angua sounds totally normal to me ? I couldn?t believe the tiredness at the beginning, my eyes constantly ached and I could sleep anywhere (still dream of my bed when I?m out of it!)

Spugs is it the same brand you are using? Try a digital; it?ll make you feel much happier

Firsty ? still hanging in there hon?

Bouncingturtle ? I?ve been there and can picture it all. Sorry you didn?t get the best weather . I would be very good company for you, all I?m interested in is the baby and my cats at the moment too I find eating really hard after 7pm, it?s almost like there are no enzymes to digest it with and with the heartburn, it?s just not worth it.

VictorVictoria ? good luck for Friday I know exactly what you mean. The scan gives you reassurance for a bit and then you start worrying again. We saw ours last Thurs (13+2) and will be seeing it again this Friday (14+3). This is the first time I?ve got past 10 weeks but I am only really showing at night, during the day I look like I?ve eaten too many pies but not a distinct bump yet.

Saw my friend?s week old son on Sat ? he was so cute

ladylush · 16/07/2007 11:00

Mrs McJ at your dreams. Did you tell dh? Pregancy dreams are totally crazy aren't they.

Feedmenow · 16/07/2007 11:19

Hello all. I've come to join you if that is OK?
Got my bfp yesterday. Don't want to hang about in ttc cos I feel I'd be rubbing their noses in it, but don't want to go to A/N yet. I remember only too well how quickly people would drop off in those first couple of months, and I don't think I can bare to see/hear it.
So I'm really peased to have found this thread! I now have somewhere to be where I know you all understand how frightened I am. Does it get easier? I already have in my mind that after 12 weeks I'll feel happier, but things can still go wrong after that can't they? Will I be worried the whole pg? Or will I be able to actually relax and enjoy it a bit?

ladylush · 16/07/2007 11:22

Congrats feedmenow Remember you but can't remember whether this is your first or not.

Uki · 16/07/2007 11:40

Morning all

Nice to see everyone here this morning.
BIG WELCOME to -Winky, Spungs and Angua

Hi -lady lush, nice to see you around, like the new name it's very luush, was my favourite word as a teenager

Firstar- yes i'm over the pg now as well, and will be taking up all offers of induction!!!
I have been sooo tired the last few days, i don't remember being this tired with ds I'm knackered. I hope your LO comes soon.

MrsMc- I have had alot of pins and needles too, not so bad lately though, and weird dreams. I had one about jamie oliver last night only just remembered that!!!

Bounciing- unfortunately i can relate to the coughing and the backache, not fun. hopefully you don't also loose your bladder, like I do when coughing, even ds has noticed 'mummy nappies' i so hope it's not forever

VV- good luck with the scan, hopefully you'll be able to relax after friday.

Hi uki, can empathise with the coughing/bladder problem. Now that I'm not pg it's fine, but up to a week ago I was leaking when coughing Defo something about the pg making the bladder weak - even at 3 months pg.

MrsMcJnr · 16/07/2007 12:31

Ladylush ? told DH and he said he tries to have dreams like that every night!

Feedmenow fabulous! Well done hon! lovely to have you here with us, welcome! Take each day as it comes hon, it?s all you can do and I think it does get a little easier but there are always things that spook you. This thread is great because we are all at different stages and can help each other with our own experiences

Hello Uki glad it?s not just me

Sorry if TMI ladies but DH and I had wonderful sex last night ? yes, SEX! Can you believe it! I actually felt really horny and it was so nice to have no other purpose than just pleasure!

ladylush · 16/07/2007 12:33

Good on you mr and mrs mcj Yes, sex for pleasure - what a novel idea. Hope to try it myself in a week or so

ladylush · 16/07/2007 12:34

PMSL at your husband's reply. Very witty.

ejt1764 · 16/07/2007 12:38

go MrsMc! ... dh and I are trying vewry hard to keep up the sex life (especially as I feel fruity quite a lot of the time) ... but with the spd / pelvic pain being at its worst in the evening, and with ds getting up early in the morning, it's difficult to find the right time ... and when it comes to a comfortable position .. well ... we both end up laughing so much that we lose the moment!

Welcome to all the new people! feedmenow, spugs, winky and angua waving madly ... feel free to rant and rave about your symptoms (or lack of them), knicker-checking obsession - or general feelings of doom! We've all been there - and I really don't know how I would have coped at the beginning without the lovely ladies on this thread ...

waving madly at everybody else!

DS finally had sports day this morning - it's been postponed three times due to the weather ... and [smug mammy emoticon] he came 1st in the 1 race he did, and 2nd in the other ... I felt very proud!

Hey good on you Mrs Mc, bd can be quite fun in pg i'm finding, not sure if my sudden rush is due to being pg or if i have hit that fabbled 30 something peak

OP posts:
Uki · 16/07/2007 13:52

Hi jules
I'd actually say your worrying sounds like a good sign.

i was thinking about my early pg's and worries the other night.
and i realised the following - out of my 5 pg's this far it was the 3 that i worried less about that became missed m/c's and the 2 that i was a complete crying, yelling irrational mess that have stuck, so i reakon it's the hormones going crazy and therefore a good sign.

So hopefully you too are worrying and all will be fine tomorrow. I hope so hun, fingers and toes crossed for you.

Mumpbump · 16/07/2007 14:22

Afternoon all! First day back in work and probably heading home soon as I am not really fully recovered and my line manager is gently encouraging me to b*gger off.

Plummymummy - if you see this, I am so sorry to hear your news. I hope that you will be joining us again in the not too distant future...

I can't believe how many people have joined whilst I've been off feeling sorry for myself! Congratulations to everyone and hello again to Taichimum, Jules and Angua! It's nice to see some more familiar names!

I had a m/w appointment last Thursday, followed by a glucose tolerance test last Friday. Baby is measuring 30cm for 29+4 so slightly big, but I think she measured from lower down than anyone else who measured me when I was pg with ds... Anyway, quick update only from me. I will try to get properly up to speed tomorrow and hopefully post a bit more then.

Mumpbump · 16/07/2007 14:22

Sorry - 28+4!

Mumpbump · 16/07/2007 14:23

PS - my sister is pg for the first time and due on 1 March - so excited for her

ladylush · 16/07/2007 14:40

Thanks mumpbump (tis me Plummy)
